My experience this past weekend with Showcase Honda was easily the worst experience I have ever had with a car dealership (already such a low bar), and probably the worst I have ever had with any sales organization of any kind. I'm willing to bet that I speak for most Americans when I say I HATE shopping for a car. I would rather eat gas station sushi. I would rather walk across a football field of legos barefoot. BUT, I had to buy a car for my family this weekend. I already knew basically what kind of car I wanted, what features I needed, what my budget was. I looked around online and found a car I was really happy with at Showcase Honda. I didn't want to spend half a day in the dealership. My Grandson is only a week old and I wanted to go over to their house and spend the day with them. But I need the car taken care of this weekend so our family can function heading into the week. So I call the dealership, let them know I just want to buy it, I'll to it online, send over the contract, I'll wire the money, I don't want to haggle on the price, I don't want to come see it, I don't want to take it for a test drive, but I do want to buy it asap and I am super serious. I'll pay extra for it to be delivered to my house, I don't want to spend any additional time on this project than I have already spent. I'm literally holding the money in my hands. I'm texting with someone from the online sales team and I schedule a call for 10 AM the next morning, as it was getting later in the day on Friday night. Saturday morning i'm waiting by my phone at 9:45 to wrap this deal up and no one calls. Thats okay, they just opened, I'm sure they need to get a coffee....10:15 and still no one, 10:30 and still no one. So finally I call them and get on the phone with one of the sales managers. I'm sorry, I didn't take down his name, I wish I did. I think it was Steve. It doesn't matter. He tells me he would love to help me finalize the deal on that specific car, he will draw up the paperwork and they will put it through the car wash and have it ready for us as soon as we get there! I quickly explained (Again, and feeling strange because surely a large successful dealership like this uses a CRM with notes about their leads?!) I re explained to him that I don't want to come in, I want to do it all online, I'll pay full price, I don't want to haggle, send the paperwork and the wire instructions and I'm ready to close right now. He said okay, he would get the paperwork ready and get back to me soon. An hour later I hadn't heard anything, but a different sales person texts me, asks for my ID and the correct spelling of our names, which again, I thought was strange as we had done the online loan application to see if we could get a better deal financing the car vs paying cash. So they had all of our information already, but I gave it to him again. He said he was working on the contract but it never came. About an hour later I text again and say I'm excited to wrap this deal up, whats the issue, what do they need from me next? No response. 30 minutes after that I called and he said "Oh yeah, the sales manager is going to call you right now, he is just finishing up another call and he is going to call you to finish this up." An hour later, still no call. I try calling and texting again. Nothing. Finally, around 4 PM, after I have wasted my entire day, I get a different sales manager who calls me. After I have spent my entire day away from my Grandson trying to beg this dealership to take my money. This sales manager let me know that they actually sold the car last night and its not available. I asked him why have I been getting the run around all day, and he tells me that it isn't his fault because he was not the sales manager on duty at that time. I'm sure they are going to counter with this, so I'm just going to come out and say it. Yes, I raised my voice at this point. I was angry that this dealership seemingly intentionally had wasted the most previous asset I have. The one single thing I was desperate to protect: Time. And they stole it from me and I lost my temper. I don't care whose fault it is. What I care about is that I wasted 6 hours of my day when they could have chosen honestly and transparency, and it is the perfect picture of what I (and I think other Americans) HATE the most about buying a car. read more

Great sales experience, frustrating finance process. Brum was excellent--very responsive over text, provided a clear out-the-door price, and made scheduling a test drive easy. Trade-in value was fair, and everything upfront felt smooth. The finance department was a different story. William Hall was friendly, but the process lacked transparency. I wasn't shown a clear breakdown of numbers and felt pressured into a ~$5,900 warranty. Despite having an 800+ credit score, I was given a 72-month loan at 7.67% APR, which didn't add up. Also noticed paint imperfections on the "new" vehicle--disappointing. They did compensate with free accessories so I appreciated that. Service department has been great, though. Advice: focus on out-the-door price, not monthly payments, and question every add-on. I canceled the warranty, got one elsewhere for much less, and refinanced at a significantly lower rate within the following month. If you want to keep your commission and sales.. honesty and transparency go a long way. That's how you earn repeat customers and long-term trust. read more

Zero stars. Service dept is by far the worse I've dealt with. I bought a battery from this place with a warrant and when my vehicle died, showcase refused to honor the warranty. They claimed to have tested the battery themselves and it's showing good. Except for my car consistently dying not sure what test they were doing. After getting the runaround from some lackey named Richard and his word salad boss Shawn, who does nothing but gaslight folks, I went to another Honda dealer. Low and behold the battery not only failed but their service dept even detected the battery had a bad cell for at least a while now. I should also mention my car died in December 2025 and the battery was the reason but all they claimed all they could do was charge it instead of a replacement. So my 100 month warranty apparently was too hard for these idiots to deal with. Btw they claimed I had a bad starter April 2026 and wanted to charge $2k to fix it. Who in their right mind would agree to this?? I'm in the market for a new civic now and Shawn actually said I could look for one there while my car gets looked at. After the worse experience dealing with these folks, he's definitely remedial to suggest I'd drop anymore money or business at showcase Honda. I've filed a consumer complaint with Honda corporate and the BBB and have submitted all failed tests showing a bad battery taken from AAA, who btw gave me a jump the first time my car died on the road. Avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of other Honda dealers not named Showcase or have their shady ownership. What they could do to improve?? I have tried repeatedly to resolve my concerns with Showcase Honda privately. After well over a year, I am posting this because I still have not received a meaningful resolution. My experience began on January 2, 2025. I negotiated what I understood to be approximately a $180/month out-the-door payment for the vehicle. When I went into financing, approximately another $170 per month was added, essentially DOUBLING the payment I believed I had negotiated. I specifically questioned where this additional amount was coming from. I was told about taxes and was also told by the finance manager that the maintenance coverage was required. I later spoke with another Showcase Honda employee who told me the maintenance package was NOT mandatory. This is one of my biggest concerns with the transaction. If I had been clearly told, "This is an optional maintenance product and it is adding approximately $170 per month," I would never have knowingly agreed to it. The additional amount was nearly the same as the entire monthly payment I had negotiated for the vehicle itself. I was also told I would receive free oil changes for the first year, which makes it even harder for me to understand why I would knowingly agree to pay nearly another vehicle payment every month for maintenance. That wasn't my only concern. I remember test-driving and negotiating for an AWD vehicle. The vehicle I ultimately received was FWD. When I later questioned the salesperson about which vehicle I had test-driven, he told me he couldn't remember which vehicle he showed me because he handled so many deals. There is a price difference between AWD and FWD, and this distinction mattered to my negotiations. There were also problems involving my trade-in. My trade-in was valued at approximately $14,000, with approximately $6,000 being applied toward the transaction and approximately $8,000 supposed to come back to me. I waited more than a month for that money. There was also an interaction during the original transaction that has never sat right with me. When I decided I did not want to continue and wanted to leave in my Accord, I repeatedly asked for my keys back. They were not immediately returned to me, and I remained at the dealership while employees continued trying to complete the deal. I have made repeated attempts to resolve these issues. I eventually filed a consumer complaint with the Arizona Attorney General's Office regarding the transaction. My vehicle was subsequently repossessed on October 28, 2025, and I dispute aspects of what occurred leading up to and following the repossession as well. I have retained documentation relating to the transaction, payments, trade-in, communications, and my attempts to resolve these issues. At this point, I am asking Showcase Honda for something very simple: Have someone with actual decision-making authority review my ENTIRE transaction from beginning to end and respond to me in writing. I want an explanation of how the approximately $180 payment I believed I negotiated became roughly twice that amount. I want an itemized explanation of exactly what I paid for the maintenance product and why I was told it was required if it was optional. I want the AWD/FWD discrepancy investigated. I want the handling of my trade-in reviewed. I want the circumstances surrounding my repeated requests for my keys reviewed. And I want the subsequent handling of my account and repossession reviewed. I am not looking for another generic response telling me to call another department. I have already spent an enormous amount of time trying to resolve this. I am asking for someone with actual authority to review the documentation and provide a substantive response in writing. I will update this review publicly with whether Showcase Honda responds, what resolution is offered, and how this matter ultimately ends. I would still prefer to resolve this professionally. I am giving Showcase Honda another opportunity to do so. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was frustrating from start to finish. I brought my Honda in because it was having transmission issues. I paid nearly $200 for a diagnostic inspection and was told they couldn't find anything wrong. The problem continued exactly as before. When I brought the vehicle back, the dealership determined it actually needed an entire transmission replacement. That raises an obvious question: what did I pay nearly $200 for if the original diagnosis completely missed the problem? Not only did I have to make a second trip because the issue wasn't diagnosed correctly the first time, but I was also without my car for several days while everything was sorted out. That inconvenience could have been avoided with a proper diagnosis from the start. The transmission was replaced under my warranty, but it was a **used** transmission, and I was still required to pay for all of the transmission fluid because it wasn't covered. While I understand warranty limitations, I don't believe I should have had to pay for a diagnostic that failed to identify the actual problem. I'm not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply want the diagnostic fee refunded. I paid for an accurate diagnosis and didn't receive one. I hope the dealership will make this right by refunding the diagnostic charge and improving its diagnostic process so future customers don't have the same experience. read more

Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ) and the experience was disappointing. After negotiating what I thought was a slightly discounted price, I sat for over 2 1/2 hours only to discover at signing that the price hadn't changed at all from what I was quoted over the phone. By that point it was late, and I didn't have the patience to sit and argue over the $489 I was promised off--which, in hindsight, feels like that was their goal. It came across as misleading and dishonest. On top of that, what really made the purchase a bad experience was being told the vehicle came with two keys. After paying, I was handed only one and the sales representative, Aaron, brushed it off, claiming they weren't that expensive. Just an hour earlier he had warned me not to lose them because they were expensive. When I questioned it, he said they couldn't make me a key since they're a Honda dealership and I'd have to go to Nissan. I took him at his word, but when I went to Nissan, I paid $511 for a replacement--far more than his claim. That felt dishonest and left me feeling cheated. I even called the dealership the next day to speak with a manager and was told I'd get a call back, but no one ever followed up. In the end, between the missing discount and the extra cost of the key, I ended up paying about $1,000 more than what I was told I would. A diagnostic scan revealed four moderate fuel system codes (P0172, P0175, P2097, P2099), alongside shaking at highway speeds and while braking--indicators of serious preexisting mechanical and emissions issues. It became evident that the dealership had cleared the codes prior to delivery. When confronted, they gaslit us, claiming the vehicle "would never have been sold in that condition" and that it wouldn't have passed emissions--despite diagnostic evidence saying otherwise. I recently brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change and mentioned to staff that the driver-side mirror was loose. When I picked up my car, I was surprised and frustrated to find the mirror in significantly worse condition than before. It appeared more damaged, and someone had tied it with a string to keep it from falling off. I contacted the shop immediately to report the issue. Unfortunately, I was told that no one had documented the mirror's condition and that they could not take responsibility or offer any assistance. This response was disappointing, especially given that the condition of the mirror had clearly worsened while the vehicle was in their care. I understand that issues can happen, but accountability and professionalism matter. At a minimum, I would have expected transparency about the damage and a willingness to help resolve it. Instead, I was left with a more serious problem than when I arrived. I purchased a 2018 Chevy Suburban from Showcase Honda on Jan 18th, and while the sales staff was pleasant, the aftermath has been a nightmare of dishonesty and avoidance. During the sale, the Finance Manager, Tristan, sold me an extended warranty he explicitly claimed was "bumper-to-bumper" coverage. Having been a Finance Manager at a Harley dealership for years, I trusted his professional representation. The very next day, the check engine light came on. After a diagnosis at a Chevy dealership, I was hit with a $6,000 repair bill. When I attempted to use the warranty Tristan promised would cover everything, the underwriting company (MPP) informed me it wasn't even close to bumper-to-bumper. It covers only a few components and was essentially useless for these repairs. The underwriters were actually frustrated that Showcase Honda staff are still using the "bumper-to-bumper" lie to close deals. When I brought this to the Finance Director, Lee Hall, she initially confirmed I had the top-tier coverage but then pivoted to dodging my calls and emails once the truth about the policy came out. I was referred to the Used Car Director, Steve Tucker, who has completely ignored me. It is clear this dealership failed their duty to properly inspect this vehicle before sale and then compounded the issue by misrepresenting a service contract. Because they have chosen to go silent rather than do the right thing, I am now forced to settle this in Small Claims Court. Do not trust this service department or their finance office. I looked at Certified Pre-owned cars at the Tempe dealership but was told there they did not have the 1.49% financing. My wife wanted to checkout the inventory at Showcase but I was skeptical based on the reviews. We were in on Super Bowl Sunday and my wife who deals with chronic pain was having a bad day and was not feeling well. The finance person we worked with blatantly lied to us about what was covered and said we were required to get a warranty to keep th CPO benefits. When I had to return to the dealership a week later to get a 2nd key made I spoke with someone else in finance who didn't believe me and basically had an oh well attitude. The service area was super busy so I doubt my review will have much impact since this place appears to be high volume but any person who claims to be a man of god and a former marine lacked any of the morality associated with those 2 things in how he handled my financing while my wife was sick and in pain. It was almost like he preyed on our vulnerability and the face service was closed on Sunday and I could not verify anything with them. My son will graduate college in a year and a new civic was in our plans for him and never ever will I go back to Showcase. read more

However, about a week after signing my original contract, I was contacted and told to come back in to re-sign for a "better rate." When I returned, I was quickly directed to sign electronically and told it was doing nothing more than bringing my APR down and saving me money. After reviewing the paperwork at home, I discovered a $2,999 MPP warranty had been added and my loan term had been extended from 60 months to 75 months, effectively increasing the total cost while masking it with a slightly lower monthly payment. What made it such a low rating is because Kenny was not honest to me what so ever. I did not want a roadside assistance, I did not want an extra warranty and I got charged an extra $2000 dollars, that I was not even informed about. He would not take no for an answer either when it came down to a warranty. I basically said "No I am okay, I am capable of doing my own work on the car." He insisted on giving me his employee discount, asked if I was licensed on working on cars with extra electronics and kept stressing me out. He informed the service department that I, his girlfriend, would be picking the vehicle up when it was ready and that I'd be using his credit card to pay for the service. On Wednesday, Honda's service department called me repeatedly (while I was at the vet euthanizing a beloved pet, no less) to let me know the vehicle would be ready the following day--something that easily could have been conveyed via text to me or to my partner. I took a Lyft to pick up my partner's car today and was told that they'd conveniently "forgotten" to mention that services paid for using a credit card would incur a 3% surcharge. This meant an additional $107 would be added to my partner's bill. This surcharge was not communicated to me or to my partner during what amounted to at least 5 phone calls about the service--and they knew I would be using his credit card to pay. I asked if the surcharge could be waived as it was unethical to hide a cost in this way, and was told no. There was "nothing they could do" to waive the surcharge. I asked if they could lower my partner's bill by $107 to make up for what they repeatedly admitted was THEIR mistake. Nope. Apparently paying $3600 for repairs wasn't enough for the folks at Honda to take what would have been a small loss for them, but was yet another financial loss for us. In the end, I was told I could either leave without the vehicle or pay the service total + the surcharge. Had Honda communicated that there was a surcharge for credit card transactions BEFORE telling me to come pick up my partner's car, my partner could have transferred money out of his savings and used a debit to pay instead (a process that would have taken a business day or two). But they did not, because they have zero respect for their customers. This dealer is beyond disrespectful and it's incredibly shady that they'd obscure a $100+ fee in this way. We will not be returning, and for my partner, this was the straw that broke the camel's back--he will not purchase a Honda vehicle again. Editing to add: It is NOT normal to charge a surcharge for credit card transactions at dealers in Phoenix. VW and Toyota on the same Camelback dealer strip do not charge for credit card transactions.
