Absolutely not. The first time the car was brought there a man quoted us about $200 and it would be ready in about 3 days. The 3rd day came but the car was in the same place. I went to go into the business and no-one was there. A man seen me go in so I figured he would come in. I walk out and he was no where to be seen. I walked back outside of the building because when I called that morning someone said to hold on. I did hold on and no one cane back to the phone. I decided to bring my sister in law who is on oxygen 24/7 . We left my phone ringing Hence, I went to the back of the business. I waved to the guy he said can I help you I said no but I can help you. I told him to go into his office and get his phone. He picked it up and I lost my temper. I said we came an hour away just to see if the car was done . He coped an attitude instead of saying I'm sorry it isn't . I said we need the car done . He went to the back drove up and said here you go! Nothing was done. My sister in law had to drive herself back at 81 years old and I followed her back home. This is not how you run a business when two brothers are working at their grandfathers place. I've been having some issues with my jeep two batteries for some time now. The previous mechanic I went to was unable to identify the issue after having my vehicle for a whole week. Whereas Mike's repair shop was able to resolve my car's issue in a single day! I appreciate the speedy repairs as I am a full time nursing student and also work, so I couldn't afford to wait another week for my car to be fixed. This place was the 6th place I was recommended to by other previous shops that had a backlog of work that pushed out their service dates 1 week +. Mike's was exceptionally understanding of our situation, in Phoenix on vacation from GA, & made time to accommodate us. They immediately got to work on a broken ac fan/blown fan fuse & completed the job within 2 hours. Their pricing was fair and upfront before work was started. I have to say Mike went above and beyond by trying to help me out. I was having alternator issues I already took my car into Pep boys the morning prior to calling Mike for an estimate super fair pricing and was even able to get me in right away to at least check to see if that was the issue. Let me be clear I didn't receive an actual service from Mike at all but the fact that he was able to get me super fair quote I then gave that to pep boys so that way they could price match it for me. Okay let me start this by saying I know nothing about car aside from where to put the gas (which I dont want to do) how to put air in the tire (which I avoid) and how to top off basic fluid (which need to be properly labeled witha a picture and even then I'm taking a risk doing it my self!).... But The guys here at Mike's KNOW what they are doing! I wouldn't trust ANYONE else with my vehicles! If u have an issue and they can't fix it they will tell u flat out they aren't gonna tinker with it playing the "pay until I find the REAL problem" games that most mechanics play they fix it they charged a reasonable price and when you leave you know the problem has been solved they called me every step of the way before they fix anything and said is this charge okay would you like this to be fixed they never just fix something then surprised me with the charge! What made me sold on Mike's is the fact that I paid up front and when I came to pick up my vehicle they wrote me a check because.... THERE WAS CHANGE like what?! Have you ever had a mechanic give YOU money BACK? Probably not...it is a smaller shop so some times the call back times get lost but if you have a question CALL THEM! I came here when another mechanic recommended them, because his schedule was full. The gentleman in the front office said they always try to have a couple of mechanics with open schedules to accommodate walk ins, so that was dope. My AC went out over the course of a month or so and was eventually just blowing hot air. They were able to get the part needed and get it fixed same day. They even gave me a ride home while they worked on it. 10/10 I would definitely recommend this business to anyone needing a fair, honest quote and quality work. read more

So last night I watched "Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire". Because I'm an asshole, I then immediately took to my Twitter account to draw ridiculous parallels between the lives of me and Precious, based on substantial obstacles I face such as the GPS on my iPhone lagging, Trader Joe's being out of Charles Shaw Shiraz, and the heartbreak that is drinking mimosas with pulp. Like I said, I'm an asshole and I found this whole bit hilarious. So God punished me for my tastelessness today by making my car break down a block away from my office. I drive a 1996 Toyota Camry with 183,000 miles on it, so I basically assume every breakdown (and there have been a lot) will be my last. Actually I PROMISE every breakdown will be my last, until I forget to go car shopping (or don't feel like spending $4K on a down payment), and she breaks down again. I'm then stuck in the horrible situation of being car-less unless I dip into my "Down Payment For A New Car" fund to repair it. It's a vicious cycle, really. I won't draw a Precious analogy this time. Luckily, Mike's Auto Repair was recommended to me by my tow truck driver, and it was right down the street from my house so I let him bring me there. They told me it would be a $69.95 Diagnostics Fee, but it could be applied to the repair costs. Everyone else told me $90+ so I was already saving some money. Then Mike asked if I wanted one of his guys to give me a ride home while I waited. Um, what? Of course I would! I made friendly chit chat with my driver on the way, who assured me that Mike runs a very fair shop, where they won't upsell repairs you don't need or overcharge. I believed him. I get dropped off at home and barely have enough time to boot up my computer before my phone rings "Hey Georgeann? It's Mike. Can I have my driver come pick you back up? Your car's done." WHAT?! Freaking awesome. I'm not sure what they had to do (he told me but I couldn't recite it back with a gun to my head), but they did it quickly and then PICKED ME BACK UP. Spectacular. I was only charged for the diagnostics fee, which I was totally fine with. There was no charge for the tow (through roadside assistance), or either of the rides they gave me. The best part is, he did not try to sell me ANYTHING else on top of what I absolutely needed. Obviously my car's not going to last forever, but he said for now it was "driveable" as it was and to come in before I have to have emissions done if the check engine light is on. That's it. Ran my card, gave me my keys, and I was off into the sunlight with my baby in tow. Just like Precious. read more

Since I don't know much about cars, they were great about spending time on educating me about the issue and even contacted my parents letting them know what was wrong with the car. This week, the clutch on my 2013 Scion FR-S seized at 50K miles. Just 7 months ago, I bought it as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle (with 38K miles) from a national chain dealership (Toyota / Scion). When the clutch went out on Sunday, I had it towed to the dealership thinking there was no way they'd "leave me hanging." WRONG. The service manager told me neither the CPO warranty *nor* the platinum-level extended warranty I purchased through the dealership would cover a new clutch. They consider it "wear-and-tear." Now, I baby this beast and am a lifelong stick shift driver. Last year, the clutch on my previous car -- an Acura RSX -- didn't need any attention until 180K miles. (And Mike did that repair, too, super fast and affordably -- with a free tow to his shop.) So, the clutch damage to the FR-S had to have happened before I bought this car. Instead of working with me, the dealership quoted me $2,500 for a new clutch, including 10+ hours of labor. At that point, I called Mike. Within the hour, he sent his tow truck (again, at no cost) to the dealership to retrieve my car. Less than 36 hours later, the car is driving beautifully, with a new clutch, for LESS THAN HALF of what the dealership quoted. Not only that, Mike will be reaching out to my warranty company on my behalf. I didn't ask him to; he offered. Whether he's successful or not, that speaks volumes for his level of commitment and professionalism. He has a long-term customer, now -- +1, since my boyfriend is so impressed. I've been going to Mike for several years now and his integrity and work ethic are unmatched. I love the way that he clearly lays out the various options for how to approach a repair job, and never tries to pressure me into anything. I've never had issues with any of his work after the fact. I had some work done there before and I remembered it was a bad experience but couldn't remember why. I left my car there on a Saturday with Mike promising to call me Monday or Tuesday. I called Wednesday and was told they didn't know what was wrong yet but they would call me later in the day. It was pretty cut-and-dry from the beginning what was wrong with my car 2 more days went by without a phone call which made a total of a week finally I went down there and was told that it was done and that they had left me a voicemail which was a lie. I was also told that it wouldn't cost more than a certain amount and of course it went over that. I found them to be extremely unprofessional. read more

So I took my vehicle in for a simple fix. Would take someone with the right tools an hour tops. He told me It would be done over the weekend the latest. I called on Monday to confirm with them. They told me It wasn't ready and that they would have it ready by Tuesday afternoon the latest. An hour later I get a call back telling me the Mechanic took a vacation and won't be back till Friday. I took my car in thanks to the towing truck guy who reassured me they could fix my issue for cheap and in a little amount of time. Liesssss! They ended up charging me almost 2,000 . I drive an older car with a lot of miles, so naturally I spend time looking at a lot of mechanocs in my city and Mikes Auto is definitely the best. The free towing service they offer alone will save you more than any other mechanic, and Mike himself is an homest buisnessman not looking to tack on tons of unnecessary charges like the other shops. My car needed its heads replaced and they had everything done within a week. When I drove home afterwards there was actually another problem with my car overheating. I called mike and he towed it back within an hour and I had it the next day, and it didn't cost me a cent. Definitely the only auto shop I will use from know on. read more

Right Hyla L.!!! this place is a joke. It's run by imbeciles who can't keep track of people who make appointments. I made an appointment to have a new my A/C repaired because it stopped working. When I got to this place, there was a young kid inside. I told him I had an appointment and that I was early. while I was talking to him he just left. He brought back Mike. I reminded Mike about the appointment I made and he looked dumbfounded. He looked at his C P and then told me it would take at least 5 hours to do. On the phone, when I first made the appointment, he told me it would take 2 hours. Mike used the excuse that its hard to put in a condenser in that type of vehicle. WHY DIDN'T THIS NO BRAIN TELL ME THAT WHEN I CALLED?? He's supposed to be a certified mechanic.. He also asked me if I had the condenser or was he supposed to have it. WHAT THE HELL WOULD I BE DOING BUYING A CONDENSER?? This was a wasted trip of 8 miles. Mike acted like he didn't give a shit whether he fixed it or not. Also, forget about parking. There is none, the place is loaded with cars, mostly junk cars so there is no place to park. It's also dangerous to back out onto Indian School Rd. It's very busy and you have to maneuver your car around so you can drive out. NEVER GO TO THIS BULLSHIT BUSINESS!! MIKE IS A JACKASS AND HAS A SHIT ATTITUDE. There are cars there he has for sale, but I'd never recommend anyone buy them if he fixed them like the way he treats people. I asked the young kid since I was there if I could get a synthetic oil change and what could he do with the price because I was already spending $560 to replace the condenser. He was a hard ass and said it would still cost me $78. I went someplace else and had the oil change for $44. THESE ARE STUPID PEOPLE AND DON'T WANT TO BOTHERED. NEVER GO THERE, THERE ARE MANY OTHER MECHANICS IN THE PHOENIX AREA THAT YOU CAN TALK TO AND GET REPAIRS DONE RIGHT. read more
