I do not have first hand experience with D & W Auto Service, but have an amazing story to tell. My father-in-law was in need of replacing a sun visor in his Honda CRV. We watch the YouTube videos on how to replace it. It was a breeze in our minds. After an hour we gave up and I found a Honda shop with great reviews. So FIL goes to D & W the following day. He's not like me to trek across the valley at a whim when I want something. He drives to the other side of town to get his sun visor replaced. They tell him they easily do one of these jobs daily. The guy who normally does them was not in that day. Another mechanic had a tough time removing his current visor, but has success and installs the new sun visor my FIL bought. He walks back into the office and asks what do I owe you. They said NOTHING. Just please remember us when you need service on your Honda. FIL was ecstatic of the service he received and now has a Honda shop that will take care of his car going forward. The dealership wanted $200 for this job. If you're reading this and on the fence on taking your Honda in. Do it, this place has some high ratings and our experience with them was awesome! read more

I've got my engine filter replaced, transmission fluid flush done, and my front bumper fixed here. I originally came in because my front bumper was pulled off from a parking spot's concrete wheel stop downtown, and was barely hanging, a coworker recommended me D&W. I'm glad she did, they popped it back in place! Later that year I got a multi point inspection done at the dealership and they had this long list of things that "needed" to be done. I came to D&W and they told me only two things needed to be done (transmission fluid flush, and engine filter replaced). They are very honest and do high quality work on your car. Their prices are reasonable too. Justin and Billy at the front desk are both knowledgeable and friendly, and Cisco the mechanic even came out to show me how dark my engine filter was. This place is absolutely spectacular. I've been going to them for years for issues that are too big for me to take on. And they have always done amazingly high quality work on all my Hondas. They used to be called Independent Import but changed their name when ownership changed. Justin and the mechanics are very honest and will tell you if work is needed or not. Why, do they do that? Honest skilled and trustworthy mechanics is my way to summarize this place. One of the hardest things to find is a really good auto mechanic. When I say "really good" it's not about just fixing your car but also giving you the right recommendations that need to be done to keep your vehicle in service. Yes, it helps when it's at a price point that also makes sense and that's one of the reasons why I've continued to bring my Honda/Acura to D&W Auto Service over the years. Relative to my home versus its location I do have to deal with rush-hour traffic but I have found it to be essential as the service that I get towards my vehicles has always been great. They do a great job at troubleshooting issues and problems as well as keeping you in the loop to let you know what type of service is going to be required. Some people will take their vehicles in for service and when they show back up find out they have a bill that is astronomical and all the "right" things are still not done. WIth D&W, I've never had that happen to me with all of my vehicles and we have a good discussion about what's the priority and what to consider in the near future. read more

First of all, Justin has to be the most honest mechanic I've ever met. Secondly, I've never had any problems. Before I found him I went to at least 4 mechanics who kinda (totally) dropped the ball. When I moved to the other side of town, he gave me some names of places closer to me which I feel like is really kind. Thirdly, he always remembered my name, which is another thing you wouldn't expect but it's so thoughtful. I found this place on yelp and took my Acura for a transmission flush and oil change. Justin was very knowledgeable about everything Acura/Honda related. My car ran so much better after I left the shop. The other thing that they did for me was reset my tire pressure gauge bc the readings were all over the place and it drove me nuts. I bought the car used from a Toyota dealership and they couldn't fix the issue and told me the daily fluctuations were normal. The readings were always all over the place and you want to make sure you have the right tire pressure when driving. Ever since I took my car here the readings are perfect and I didn't even ask for this to be checked and or serviced. I couldn't recommend this place enough to anyone .....not 5 stars , I rate this place 10 stars! read more

I had an Acura CL that took a crap on me down the street. I had never been to D & W, but having a Honda mechanic nearby was convenient so I got it towed over. They were extremely up front with me and didn't bullshit me. My transmission was done, and it was going to be expensive. They kindly offered for me to leave it in their locked lot while I figured out what to do with it. I am nobody's cheerleader. I generally write reviews when I have an extreme experience with the business, usually extremely positive, sometimes extremely negative. I've had lots of different cars, lived in lots of different cities, so I've experienced service departments ranging from new Range Rover dealerships to the cash mechanic operating out of his backyard. My current daily driver is a Honda element with about 200,000 miles. I'm not afraid to spend money to not only keep it alive but when there are squeaks and rattles, I will do new parts before they are absolutely necessary. Keeping it quiet and tight keeps me from buying another car, so I'm ahead. However, I don't like wasting money. With high mileages cars, I have discovered this: Your best mechanic is the mechanic who specializes in your particular brand, especially high-mileage examples. For example: Noise from a power steering pump, normally the (completely reasonable) recommendation would be ... put in new power steering pump . Because D&W knows so much about not just Hondas but high mileage Hondas, they know that for my particular model and my particular year, a $9 washer replacement will solve the problem. I have other examples. I know other shops that operate in good faith, but unless they really get into the weeds on a particular brand, they're not going to know the little quirks that can solve a problem without just throwing new parts at it. I was skeptical of this place because of such a high rating and the poor reputation mechanics can have in general when it comes to overcharging. I came in for an oil change and also a weird screeching noise that was coming from my a/c compressor. I anticipated they would have to replace the compressor. Instead they changed my oil and tightened the belt on the compressor and fixed the noise! They only charged my for the oil change! Will be back again for as long as I'm living in Phoenix. read more

They are that good. I've sent more business to D&W than I can remember in the last 22 years that my family has been using them. Because of D&W, I have exclusively bought Acuras since I first got my driver license. They are that good. These guys will tell you like it is with no bullsh*t. They'll even tell you when it's time to get rid of your car. If you own a Honda or Acura and live within 50 miles of D&W, there's literally no excuse to not use them. Wonderful place to have your Honda or Acura serviced. Very fair prices and very friendly, helpful staff. This past Monday (10/01) I took my Honda in for a timing belt, radiator flush, and a brake fluid change. Monday was kind of a crazy day, I allowed an hour for my commute, and needed every bit of that and more due to the hurricane Rosa. I called D&W to let them know I might be a few minutes late (I'm one of those people that if I'm 5 minutes early, I'm late!). The nice lady that took my call told me to take my time and be safe; it's this personal touch that makes me feel good and want to spread the word. When I arrived, the gentleman at the front desk (Justin?) checked me in and asked what service I was having done. After I told him, and he asked me how many miles were on my Honda, when I told him, he told me I don't need the timing belt replaced or the coolant flush. When I read my owners manual, there was a suggestion that the timing belt should be replaced early miles under certain conditions. Justin explained to me that the belt and coolant will last longer than that and to come back at a later time for these services. He took the time to explain to me why I should wait and what services will be performed when I bring it back. The only service I needed that day was the brake fluid changed, and that took less than an hour. When I tried to pay, the point of service terminal was having issues and wouldn't take my card. Instead of making me wait, Justin told me he would call me later for my info, I didn't want to make D&W wait or pay the credit card fee, so I left, went to my bank (another review for another day...), came back and paid cash! I'm sorry this review is so long, but I am beyond happy with the service I received at D&W and want to let everyone know. This is my second service visit and won't be my last. D&W is an honest shop run by great people; I can't recommend it highly enough. Thank You D&W! read more
