In an attempt to change my own battery, I lost a few tools under the hood. The mechanics at Big O Tired were kind enough to fish them out for me and even ensure the battery was secured correctly. Just amazing customer service! read more

I trusted Big O Tires as automotive professionals because I do not have a mechanical background and relied on their expertise to keep my vehicle safe. Instead, over the course of three months, my vehicle was severely disabled by a team unable to perform the level of work they undertook--and those errors were later protected by another team under the same franchise rather than corrected. This matter is now under a formal Better Business Bureau complaint: BBB Case ID #: 24357302 (Filed 01/06/2026) Locations & Management Involved Big O Tires - Cave Creek 5355 E Carefree Hwy, Building C Cave Creek, AZ 85331 Store Manager: Kris Maxie Big O Tires - Phoenix 21029 N Cave Creek Rd Phoenix, AZ 85024 Store Manager: Jeff Hunter General Manager (both locations): Blade Bush Regional Manager: Mike Sharpe Serious Safety, Repair, and Oversight Failures As a woman in my 60s doing the best I can without a mechanical background, I trusted Big O Tires to act competently and ethically. Instead, I experienced repeated misrepresentation of repairs, dismissal of safety concerns, and pressure to accept incomplete or incorrect work. I am deeply concerned this conduct may affect other customers. Documented issues include: * Wrong transmission fluid was used; this was not acknowledged when a new transmission was presented as "necessary," omitting the true cause * Transmission replacement forced me into an extended rental car * Vehicle shudders violently when AC is on, making it feel unsafe * AC compressor was under warranty, yet I was charged for a new one * Compressor replacement was double-billed and immediately followed by severe shaking * Work was performed involving airbag systems * I was later told Big O does not handle airbags due to lack of certification * I was also told airbag work had been performed by a non-certified technician * Warning lights were repeatedly dismissed and later tied to airbags not functioning * Steering components were left unsafe, including screws not replaced and later described as hazardous * Vehicle returned with missing or unsecured hardware, including an engine protection plate left hanging * Horn and cruise control failures were not properly repaired * Multiple return visits were required due to errors from work performed the prior day; many visits were not documented * An incorrect belt was installed, causing the vehicle to break down and require towing * When I requested safety issues be resolved, I was instead offered an oil change * At the Cave Creek location, the manager was frequently not on site, and vehicles appeared to be worked on without direct supervision * I was told management knew errors were occurring but could be fixed--yet they were not * All warning lights remain on * Although verbally stated to be "safe," this is my only transportation and I have lost all trust. I am taking my life on the freeway in a vehicle ablaze with warning lights I was told to "monitor." Lack of Corporate Response * I contacted the Big O consumer complaint line on 11/23 * No one from corporate or regional management contacted me * I was given a $700 check for non-certified airbag work, which felt less like a resolution and more like being told to go away--while my vehicle remained unsafe Financial Impact Between transmission replacement, repeated repairs, towing, rental car costs, and related expenses, the financial impact exceeds $18,000, yet the vehicle remains unresolved and unsafe. Final Statement I trusted this company because I am not a mechanic and relied on their professional expertise. Instead, my car was compromised by work beyond the team's capabilities, and those failures were protected rather than corrected. This is not professionalism. This is not accountability. This is not acceptable. Shame on you. read more

Many thanks Brian for providing 5 metal valve stems to replace the rubber ones that a different Big O failed to replace when I got much higher pressure tires. He was extremely helpful and unfailingly polite. The guys who did the work were also polite and friendly. Give them a look. Thanks Brian. read more

While on the freeway, my dashboard tire emergency light suddenly lit up, so I pulled off immediately to find --much to my amazement-- Big O Tires straight ahead! I pulled in and they were so helpful and courteous. The tire was obviously flat and they immediately exchanged the flat for my spare... and I was quickly on my way. They charged nothing for the service! Can't say enough good things about the guys at this store!!! read more

I'm so grateful to this shop! My fiancé and I were on our way to an interview 15 minutes from this shop. My fiancé noticed the tire pressure light on and realized we were losing air quickly. We pulled over at the next exit and found a huge screw in the middle of our tire. Luckily, this shop was right across the street. My fiancé told the guy at the front desk, Brian, that it was an emergency and he had to be at an interview at 2 pm. They were incredibly quick! They got everything written up and within 24 minutes, we were out of there! I've never seen such quick and efficient work at a shop before. They were also kind and friendly. They showed us where their drinks were and which side of their system was colder. Their genuine courtesy was icing on the top - I'm so impressed and grateful! We were there for a short time there, however, I HIGHLY recommend this place! It was also cheaper than what we expected to patch up the tire. Thank you, Big O Tires, and everyone who helped us get out of there as quickly as possible! We made it to the interview with 2 minutes to spare! read more

I had a great experience with Manny. He was very professional and honest. My car was done in a timely manner and the overall price was pretty solid. My only gripe is that the technician left grimy prints on my vehicle. read more

Unexpectedly got a flat tire due to something in the street across from this big O tire went in to see if it could be fixed and unfortunately it couldn't, so the manger and tech were both very helpful with getting my spare on and getting me back on the road to get to my appointment only being 5 mins behind. Thanks fellas!! read more

While I can appreciate you standing by your staff, the fact still remains your manager was rude, mocking and all in front of a 10 year old child. The vehicle had to be taken to another mechanic who fixed the problem your technician couldn't or wouldn't diagnose. I went here to get my brake pads changed. They told me my front control arms were detached and my rear shocks were shot. $1500 fix but with the discount it's $1400. Wow what a save! I asked for my car back and the guys driving it just seemed odd. Took it to a different mechanic and got my front rotor fixed for $120. Saved me ~$1380. Don't go here read more

Stopped in while transporting my classic '67 Porsche from California to Tennessee fresh from the paint shop. Somehow a front shock had dislodged from it's top bracket and got stuck under the fender. Michael was amazing! He was very patient with me and the car and helped me get it extended back into place, we got it cinched down while still in my trailer and I was back on the road. Michael saved the day! Overall a very helpful location. And then they didn't even charge me! read more

Had a great experience with the Big O tires on Cave Creek Rd. I had spoken to the regional manager Steve about a not so great experience at another Big O in the area. After discussing the concerns I had, he directed me to this location to see if we could correct the situation. I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I met with the manager Jeff, who was very friendly and helpful, and he not only corrected the previous issue but he went above and beyond to make this a 100% better outcome. Very happy to be back on the road with new tires and this location will have a repeat customer. Thanks Jeff and Steve! read more

I've been going to that Big O for over 10 years have had all my SUV's (4) getting tires and oil changes.....the last couple/few years (since new owners bough it) had not as good experience as the upsells have increased, which I get are part of this business. Watch how frequently your tire sensors go out at this big O. all four of my vehicles I bring there had them pop up every time I get oil changes or rotate my tires ......now either tires sensors aren't made as well all of a sudden or I've had bad luck or something. I know sensors last approx 5-10 years and heat and driving can affect the life. Come here at own risk. read more

I would not go here again, I have been going to Big o Tires for years, first & last time at this specific location, went in for an oil change, and left with the whole panel over hanging off of my car. Had to stop and pay somewhere else for someone to fix it because I wasn't near the location anymore, never going back here. read more

What a great experience. I came in for an oil change and tire rotation with a coupon I had purchased that was invalid. They honored the coupon and I was able to get what I had paid for it back. The front desk gentleman came to me as they were finishing and informed me that both my tires and rear brake pads needed replacing. He then proceeded to tell me that I could wait a little while longer on both instead of trying to sell me on the spot. The wok was done and the price was better than the Valvoline right next door! Thank you Big O. read more

Possibly being generous in my 3 star review but received unpleasant customer service by guy at the counter today. Just went in for an oil change so it should have been easy & pleasant. I'm sure they have great service and great people, looked like they had plenty of crew in the garage which is always good to see. Never been before but had a rough experience with the person up front. I'm not looking to exchange pleasantries but he could've been a bit nicer considering I'd be a paying customer, and then tried to have me sign a piece of paper saying that I would agree to pay $55 to plug one of my tires. No I know some places do it for very cheap if not free but $55? He looked at me like I was the one out of bounds in this situation. I said that's absurd, and he said there's the door. I'll gladly never go back. read more

I requested a oil change, air filter, change, tire rotation. They told me it would take an hour. I actually took an hour and 40 minutes. I told him that I was in a hurry before I got there... So much that I was willing to come back tomorrow morning when time wouldn't be an issue. Then, when I got home, I found oil all over my floor mats and oil all over my drivers door inside and outside as well as hand prints everywhere So as instructed, I took it back to the shop where the shop manager threaten to kick my butt out front. Yelling and screaming -we both were. The value was bad. It cost me $258 and change to have the inside of my truck treated like a 1984 Ford ranger Read my other reviews. I cannot believe positiveones unless they're great but I definitely will leave a negative one don't go here. There are three tire places that provide the same service on the same block... Came in for a tire balance and the team discovered a small radiator leak. Could have been catastrophic. After showing me and going over options, I had them replace the radiator and the water pump. These guys are so helpful and nice! Thomas is very nice and helpful! He earned this 5 star rating for the company. He made a life long customer out of me!

I'm not joking when I say the crew here saved my life... I moved to Arizona from California about a month ago, and my Jeep had just made the long drive. My car started to feel very bumpy recently so I called Big O around noon on a Friday. They were able to take me right away so I drove over and dropped off my car. Within an hour I had a call back and they let me know I was lucky to have made it in with my tires and gave me the details about the issues. Only a couple hours later I was able to pick up my car with 4 new tires for their amazing buy two get two free deal. They also fixed my alignment for free, and my car has never driven better. I'm very grateful they were able to take care of my car so quickly and gave me advice on preventative care for my car! read more

Big O. Big No is right, as another client posted. Long story short, they do not stand behind their work/mistakes. They were supposed to replace 4 valve stems and only did 3, in addition to replacing the tires with Pressures of 10, 12, 19, 29 lbs on a tire that should have been at 40 lbs/rated for 60. They demeaned me as a woman, talking slowly to me and then telling me that because I brought the tires that were flat up to 45 because I assumed the valve stems were bad instead of their staff just not airing them up, that it was my fault there was an issue. They finally determined that it was their issue, because 3 of the 4 were fine, and fixed/refixed the 4th (after i drove on tires that were that low). Then exiting the work bay they gave keys to my manual transmission Jeep to a kid who didn't know how to drive a stick and he smoked my clutch. My pressure plate is now warped, but since it still shifts they feel nothing is due for any kind of discussion on reparations. Just an FYI to those using this branch. read more

I am always skeptical of an auto repair place where they say they 'find' a small leak and then replace the radiator and water pump!! It always makes me wonder how that small leak just appeared as no one is watching them and they have access to all kinds of sharp tools. Just saying. read more

BIG O Tires was a life saver today. I went in for a tire patch. Staff quickly attended me and delivered with excellent service. The manager, John, is a great person, he really took care of the issue. I went to Big O Tires after I had damaged 2 rims and tires driving on Pinnacle Peak Rd while under construction. They were professional, responsive and took care of me that day. At that time I told them I would return in a few months to replace the other 2 tires. So out of the blue, a few months later, I get a text message from Steve asking how my car was doing. I texted him and asked for a quote for the 2 additional tires and I went on a few days later and they took care of me. I noticed when I was on there the 2nd time, they had added nice comfortable chairs to their waiting room. I give them a thumbs up and appreciate their great customer care! Thanks Steve and Mike! I will be back when our other cars have issues! read more

Fast, friendly service! Repaired my tire and got me back on the road quickly. Will definitely recommend this location!

They do not complete the job as they promise. For me they said how long it would take to do the job and then repeatedly delay until it impacted my schedule. I was very clear with them what my time constraints were and that I didn't want work if the time frame wouldn't work. 3 delays and now I'm getting my car back the way it originally was dropped off. Last thing I wanted was a "manager" to say he was sorry. It's all BS. Service business that does poor service shouldn't exist. I hope corporate reads this and realizes they need a new "manager". Their yelp rating should have indicated that I needed another provider read more

This used to be a decent store until recently changed ownership , for years I went there and purchased tires and other services for my cars and other family members. Last year I purchased new tires and paid for the extended warranty or road hazard but after I got those tires the car always vibrated (even after they balanced the wheels) finally after it got really bad I purchased new tires at Costco and was told that these tires were separating (still have over 80% ) I went back to claim my warranty and I was told by the manager that it was nothing they could do, What a SCAM! read more

On 2/11 my daughter had 2 tires put on her newly purchased vehicle that evening it starting d to go flat so the next morning she took the car back in- they told her her rim was cracked and quoted 1100 for a new rim and tire (FYI it's less than $300 at the dealership) Her parents stepped in and contacted the store and was given the GMs number who was called and he hung up on her saying there are legally to crack a rim, mount a tire and then not tell the person and allow them to drive on the cracked rim!! So parents contact Big Os comp dept, BBB, Consumer Affairs Asst AG of AZ, and ACLU for age and sex discrimination concerns. Went back in with very stated concerns, GM Blade told us that Big O does not throughly inspect tires after installation AND that if there are issues they are not liable or culpable. He also stated that their work is not inspected after it is completed!! Parents start filming and they are asked to leave and when the parents ask him to restate it on camera the employee at the store goes to physically assault the mother and the GM Blade had to hold back the employee. Yes physically assault a woman!! I am beyond shocked by this company! Have left another message with compliant dept and updated the filing with other agencies to included threats and violent behavior by an employee. Also this was video taped so the aggressiveness by the employee is recorded as well as the statements by the GM. read more
