So we went over to Shoreline to have some beers at 33 degrees. Totally bummed it is gone by the way - but since this place was there, we thought why not? What a mistake. We went on a Friday late afternoon - 4-ish. The bartender was about 12 and sporting a tootpick in his mouth - FOOD SAFETY VIOLATION by the way -- big no no in the industry. Cocky and unfriendly to boot. My friend asked which IPA's were good - he didn't even know what an IPA was. I had a ShockTop and he didn't even give me the orange slice that goes with it. A female waitress was there as well. Between the both of them, they didn't "wait" on a single person at the bar. That includes me and my friend. Service: HORRIBLE. This is was a pretty cool bar until I met the worst bar tender in my life. Her name is Kristine I think it was. I've been coming here for a very long time. I usually start at tequila jacks then make my way here for the music and drinks. Everyone has always been nice until last week on 7/23/16 when Kristine was our waitress. She was rude right from the moment we got there. She seemed really busy which I understand but that doesn't make it ok to be rude to people. Or who knows maybe she was having a bad day. But if that was the case she should have taken the day off. Either way she was rude and as long as I see her I will not be going back into this establishment. I refuse to spend money and have people treat me like shit. Management needs to retrain her on her people skills. There was a table right next to us and she was being rude to them as well.... Love the corned beef sliders & clam chowder but when asked for a straw for my bloody mary was told they dont have regular straws only reusable ones they charge 50 cents for!!! What a scam. Based on my experience This is probably the worst restaurant I've ever been to...I took my family there for fish. Probably the worst in Shoreline Village ugh, waitresses gave us attitude and they were extremely rude. When it comes to food, I regret paying one penny for it. My boyfriend and I decided to take a stroll over to Shoreline and decided to play some pool here. We had two pints and played two games of pool, which accepted quarters (I think $1 a game). It was kinda empty that Saturday morning, I liked the idea they were open, offering beer, and had a friendly vibe. I would come back for another random Saturday morning! Oh the shenanigans @ Shenanigans! Besides the fact that they had a live band there's nothing to see here. Ordered 2 beers & for the kiddos a strawberry lemonade & Sprite. My friend's beer glass had lipstick on it (nasty af!) & with our waitress nowhere to be found for pretty much our entire time here -Ashley, you were slippin- she had to take her drink back to the bar herself. Got another beer but it ended up being a different beer than what she originally ordered. Lucky for her I liked hers better so we did a lil switcheroo and all was well. Until we got the "garlic" fries that we also ordered. Smh, it was literally steak fries with a dollop of jarred, minced garlic on top. I have never seen garlic fries done this way in all my 36 years of eating French fries. No salt, no pepper, no seasoning on these fries whatsoever. So disappointing. The strawberry lemonade came in a big glass & was refilled while the Sprite came in a plastic kiddie cup & never got refilled. Low & behold when the bill came they were both $3...what? We pointed out the difference in size of the drinks plus the fact that the Sprite was never refilled & it was taken off of our bill. With so many other spots to eat & drink around here, this place SERIOUSLY missed the mark. One star for the live band, one star for fixing the bill...will def NOT be back here. read more

My family and I decided to visit Shoreline Village today and while walking the village we stopped by Shenanigans for fish and chips. We've never eaten there so we didn't know what to expect but we were very hungry and Shenanigans looked really nice from the outside, what a MISTAKE! First of all, we take a seat outside because its a really nice day and we see that there is 1 party of 5 adults sitting and a waiter taking their order. We wait 5 minutes, 15 minutes without being noticed by this one waiter. My husband decides we should sit inside because maybe the service would be better, not so. Again we go unnoticed for for another 10 minutes. At that point I decide we should leave but my 3 kids were very hungry and wanted to have fish and chips so my husband approaches the same waiter and asked if we can put in an order, the waiter says "have a seat I'll be right with you" My husband lets the waiter know we'll be waiting outside. Yet another 10 minutes go by when he finally comes over to the table and "apologizes for the delay and explains he really doesn't work there and continues to say his girlfriend is the co-owner of the place and is just helping out." We proceed to order and asked a few questions about the food items on the menu, not surprisingly enough this boyfriend / waiter could not answer our questions. We decided to go out on a limb and order the appetizer sampler plate and a bowl of clam chowder to start our meal, we also ordered our main dishes while we had the waiter at the table. Didn't want to risk another 15-20 minute delay. We get our sampler plate and bowl of clam chowder 10 minutes after we placed the order, which was great. However, the bowl of soup was terrible and the appetizer were obviously frozen foods. My husband took one spoonful of the chowder and was almost immediately displeased, not that the previously frozen crab cakes were any better. Needles to say we really didn't really enjoy our sampler plate, except for the buffalo and B B Q chicken wings my kids liked. So we're sitting, chit chatting amongst ourselves waiting for our 3 orders of fish and chips and 1 sand which with fries. 15 minutes go by, then 30 minutes go by and by that point I was furious and decided we were no longer waiting on our previously frozen fish and chips. We tell the waiter we no longer want to wait and ask for the bill. He was a bit surprised and said okay sure. We wait and wait and wait for about 15 minutes and I decided we would leave without paying if we had to wait another 5 minutes. Well the 5 minuted did pass we all got up and left without paying, this I know was wrong, we have NEVER done anything like this but how much of this lack of attention and really LACK of customer service do I have to take! As we are approaching our car we hear someone shouting at us saying you cant do that! All the while flailing his arms in the air like a mad man. My husband and I walk toward the boyfriend / waiter while he's shouting at us saying we can't just leave without paying. We explained our total dissatisfaction and told him we would have gladly paid him if he would have given us the bill which by the way was about $18.00 for 1cup of coffee, 1 coke, 3 waters and the terrible frozen sampler plate. Since we finally got his attention my husband walked over to the Shenanigans to gladly pay our bill, without a tip, of course. Friends, DO NOT waste your hard earned money and time at this terrible establishment, the fine city of Long Beach has many great restaurants, pubs and eateries to choose from. In closing, the only positive comment I have is that Shenanigans really lives up to it's name, good job on that! read more

0 stars. Terrible service, weak drinks, and awful food. Our specific experience: A bus boy dropped food off at our table while our friend was in the restroom. Our friend came back to the table and said she didn't order the food he had dropped off. We told one of the waitresses who was going to take it back but said "well do you want to just keep it" so we said "sure" (assuming they would just throw it away anyway per health code and every other restaurant policy). They then charged us for that food! I respectfully asked for them to remove the charge, assuming it was a mistake. The waitress' response was: "well she ate it". So I asked for a manager who argued the same thing! They were extremely rude and acknowledged that they made the mistake but that we still had to pay for it. After a yelling match, the manager eventually removed the charge and literally threw the bill back on our table and said "there, I took it off" and stormed away. Absolutely ridiculous. In what world is it ok to treat paying customers that way?? Still shocked. If this is how they train their wait staff I understand why the drinks and food sucked as well read more

If you like to eat food with a hint of dog hair, go right ahead. This place is chill, patio hangout, but guarantee to get a hair ball by the end of your stay. I really wanted to give this place 5-stars.. but the parking situation left a bad taste in my mouth. The bartender was wonderful. Heck, even (what I'm guessing was) the barback was great. We came on a Tuesday night to watch the NBA semi-finals... we weren't expecting much but were honestly WOW-ed by the service. A+ boys!!! I was ready to give an awesome review... and then came the parking fee. $7 with validation?!?! Are you serious? I guess the validation only covers 2 hrs and then it's $2 for every 20 mins??? I'll take the criticism if you think I'm a cheap scape... but if I spend over $60 at a bar/restaurant, I don't expect to pay more than $3 for parking with validation. 5 stars for the food and service, 1 star for the parking. Came here Sunday 6/19-WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, food was HORRIBLE after waiting more than 30 min.Pancakes COLD, no butter, then reheated in microwave which made them HARD AND RUBBERY. Ordered the Corn Beef Hash,YUK!!!, meat was dry and obviously heated in microwave, dry and hard, potatoes were old. Water is $1.50 but they don't tell you that. Server was nice and upbeat, everyone else appeared mad to be there working there, obviously this place is not for everyone. I ordered the ahi wrap, expecting a warm wrap. The thing was completely drenched in wasabi, and it was cold and slimy. The fries were mediocre. The beer was on the warmer side as well. Wife and I wanted Yard House but it was packed so we tried this place. The food looked good from previous walk-by's and we were hungry. I had the fish and chips and she had a burger, the Kilkenny. Cold food and delayed service! we literally waited for a server for about 10 minutes after we sat down, and I made eye contact with a few employees before one of them finally acknowledged we needed assistance. We had a few beers and food after cycling and the service was good. The food is low grade bar food and the prices are high. After we finished eating and we were just getting ready to leave a security guard came up to us and said, next time I'm going to make you dump out your water bottles before you come in. We weren't doing anything but leaving. It was rude and uncalled for. I stopped the manager and he went on to explain that Vodka can be brought in in water bottles and next time they will smell our water. This manager had been waiting on us and brought our bill, if he had a problem with our water bottles why wait until we were finish spending money and leaving to say something. Stumbled upon Shenanigans randomly as my boyfriend and I were longboarding on the boardwalk! They had a sign advertising their bottomless mimosas until 2pm! If you know me, you know I loveeee me some mimosas! Hahaha I dont recall how much it was but I remember it was reasonable! I also ordered Merrow's Favorite Ahi Wrap! It was DELICIOUS! I had given up meat for Lent and resorted to getting the ahi wrap! I am soooo glad I did too! :D it was so good I already forgot what the boyfriend ordered! Hahahahh but the mimosas kept coming and coming! It was delightful! (: hahha its extra yummy with cranberry annddd oj! We also got a mai tai along with the mimosas!
