Fun spot, came here cuz I was craving grilled cheese (which was mostly bread unfortunately) but service was literally gawd awful. I've never left a 2 star review in my life and it's because I've worked in the service industry for 12 years so I'm very understanding. I'm writing this as I'm sitting here waiting on my check...having not been checked on in at least 30 minutes and very much done with my meal. Drinks were a tad weak as well as overpriced. If the drinks had been made a little better for the theme of what this spot is (fun, Irish pub) I would have at least considered giving 3 stars. Really would like to leave right now actually but I have no idea where my waitress is, much less my check. Praying for better service next time because this has potential to be a great spot. I also asked for a straw and shorty clapped back (literally clapped her hands to make her point) with attitude telling me that the straws were 50 cents. I'm sure she met my question with defense because most people are probably rude about this policy, but I am totally fine with paying 50 cents as well as having a recyclable straw, and thus saving sea turtles, just answer politely. What I'm not ok with is semi crappy service, kinda ok food (Brussel sprouts are bomb...don't order the grilled cheese or if you do please ask for extra cheese), empty water that isn't refilled except once, being checked on twice in approximately 2 hours of being here, and waitresses having attitude or not checking on guests. I would have ordered more had service been more attentive. Love y'all Shenanigans...but I sincerely hope there is a level up happening soon cuz this was kinda bad. As is usually the case, we stopped by during LBGP to get a break from drink prices around race circuit. After all was said and done these criminals soaked us for $32.00 for three 14oz. cups of non-craft-beer. We didn't order food this time, but at other times it certainly wasn't anything near good. My advice to race fans: pay the $5.00 cover at the Yard House: good food, good staff, good beer selection -and save some $$ -even with cover charge factored in. read more

Came to the bar to some band we herd mondays they have bands btw which is a awesome atmosphere but i must say bartenders was really uptight and did not know how to strike a conversation. I was very disappointed with the service of the waiters. My party and I felt extremely discriminated against as people of color. The waiter kept going past our table and wasn't even acknowledging our existence even as we tried to get his attention. The place is not bad as it overlooks the marina and downtown long beach skyline. Service is okay but the food is not worth 50 bucks. Their burger doesn't have much flavor, so bland, compared to how they make it at the yard house. Maybe a little salt and pepper next time? Also their fries tasted like frozen fries and too dry. Have been going here for years and gladly make the trip for the fish n chips. I was a little disappointed this time, not with the food, it's hands down the best fish. We always order ours with garlic fries and pay the difference to which the waiter obliged like always. However, they came back and said they couldn't do that? Yes they have garlic fries but even if we pay 2$ more we can't have them? They just can't allow that. Then ranch for our disappointedly plain fries was 50 cents? Come on People. That kind of Nickel and dime routine is poor taste and makes me feel like I'm in some low down establishment. This is my first bar ever and it was pretty decent service for being a holiday. Our server was busy obviously since it was self served seating so I'm assuming she had a lot of people. Although she wasn't really around, she was nice but could've made more eye contact. We ordered a modelo, corona, a mimosa, a cocktail, Irish nachos, and fried calamari and came out to $88. Not bad bc the food was good serving considering it was an appetizer. Music was very loud and seating was minimal but everything came out as soon as we ordered. The wait at most was 5 mins. Starting our night on May 9th/ Thursday night, I was celebrating the day before graduating with my Masters Degree. Along with a friend's birthday visiting from Idaho, so it was suppose to be a special night. I personally vouched for this place being awesome as she is very particular. Safe to say, I won't be going here anymore until their bartenders know how to be nice to customers. The security guard checked our ID's in front of this woman (apparently new) bartender and she still felt the need to twirl her finger at our group acting as if she's playing duck duck goose, with ages. Which firstly, is absolutely rude to point. And if you're going to check ID's check everyone's. From there when I told her the security guard just check our IDs, she went to go make our $10 obviously over priced well drinks. When she came back, she slammed my drink on the counter and decided to yell at me about federal state laws and how much sass I gave her. I know when I'm giving sass, and that was not one -simply stating a fact. She was completely out of line, it was unnecessary and the whole situation could of been approached differently, if she had any decency of being a nice human being. Her supervisor saw it, and immediately apologized on her behalf as she even stated she was out of line. When hiring your employees (as I personally hire with my organization) really consider the personalities you bring into an atmosphere that's suppose to be fun. read more

Best Rueben Sandwich anywhere! Ruebens are my favorite sandwich and I've enjoyed them around the world, from Australia to England to Ireland and Shenanigan's is one of the best I've ever had! Nicely balanced portions of corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing, grilled between slices of rye bread and paired with a perfectly built Kilkenny, served by the wonderfully attentive and helpful Christina, this really was a 5 Star lunch and a great Pub stop. My husband enjoyed the also very tasty and nicely prepared corned beef and cabbage meal. A great stop for lunch. read more

The fish and chips were delicious. We came in just as it started to get busy. It appeared they were a little understaffed but managed to get us our orders in ~15 minutes. Went there today....Guy working at the bar seated us and helped....Thats where it ended....Our waitress was not attentive and food took roughly 20-25 for two burgers and irish stew....Waitress never checked for drink refills....Walked by our table with no acknowledgement of no drinks, excessive wait time for food.....Food was good...Onion rings were burnt....Our issue isnt with the business its with the waitress....Took forever to get any service yet she was seen chatting with bar patrons as if not other people including us need service as well. We tried ordering another round of drinks and the Asian woman told the African American " THATS IT FOR THEM" but they were giving free shots and drinks to other people at the bar. Unfortunately they didn't have an Irish coffee late at night. And I've worked in the industry for a long time. They can make one. It's more that they won't make one. I'm used to people trying at least a little to please the customer. Maybe it's not the bartenders fault but regardless the management should realize they will get bad biz if they don't adhere. Ordered the appetizers sampler and it was awesome. They had these amazing corned beef sliders and the mozzarella sticks are more like huge mozzarella stuffed spring rolls. Only down side was the bartender was some young kid that didn't know the difference between a porter and a stout and he made a Cosmo for my wife so strong that she could barely walk out. The service was terrible! I asked the bar tender (who was obviously new/training) for a beer menu, he was told by his trainer that instead of finding a menu for me, that he should ask what kind of beer I want and then go from there. Crazy! Then I wanted another beer. I asked the bartender (a female bartender) and she kept telling me she was busy but she never came back to take my order (a draft beer!). I asked her twice before I decided to flag down another bartender while she was standing in front of me. I had to ask that bartender for my beer twice before he remembered. The place wasn't even busy. The pub crawl that had come on through the bar had already left. The place inside had a few people and 4 bartenders behind the bar. As we speak I have multiple charges on my card from this place- lets hope that the pending charges are just the tip I felt obligated to leave and not them messing up and trying to take more money than they earned/deserve. AND THE BATHROOM! 2 stalls, gender neutral situation. I got hit on by a staff member while waiting for the toilet! We were inside the bathroom area watching a girl wash vomit off of her face and reapply makeup. My Wife & I regularly frequent the restaurants around the Shoreline area and enjoy switching up between Tequila Jacks, Yardhouse and Famous Dave's BBQ, yet we decided to see what Shenanigan's had to offer. The experience immediately took a nosedive as nobody formally greeted us upon entering the establishment, so we walked outside to the patio area to seat ourselves and found tables littered with the remaining portions of the last patrons meal. We stood out there for five minutes and nobody had still came to see if we needed to be helped at all. We had to search for a waitress to help us and when she came to the table gradually, she didn't even clear the table of everything that was cluttered around. We waited a further five minutes for her to return, but we never saw her again, so my Wife walked into the establishment, grabbed a towel from the top of the bar and moved the six to seven glasses and had to clean off our table as well as the seats. We waited another five minutes for the server to appear and had to go back inside to let somebody know we was ready to order and when the server gradually got our order to our table, she dropped it off without looking as she was preoccupied with speaking to somebody else. Foodwise, our order was cold and the waitress never once asked if we needed anything else such as refills. Once done eating, we had to search for a person to get our bill which was truly frustrating. All together the food was rock solid cold, our time was ruined and I don't think nothing could have possibly turned it around short of a gift card to make up for the prolifically pitiful level of service provided. This place isn't recommended for it was the epitome of unprofessionalism. read more

Very brand new restaurant down at Shoreline Village. The ONLY thing right now going for them is the location. Other than that, service, food and drinks were not very good at all. In fact, most of the people in the restaurant were tourists which I think will be their core business who don't realize that there are MUCH better options for a "Irish Pub." As a local, I know there are. I was very disappointed. Here's what it seemed to me: they put a shamrock on the logo, called it an Irish pub and hope that no one notices there isn't much "Irish" about the food. We went for breakfast and it was not that busy. Service was SLOW. The breakfast options are next to none and what breakfast food they had was prepared terribly. How can you fuck up breakfast?? They did. $8 for mimosas? Did you know Gallagher's has bottomless mimosas for $6? I only went here because a friend of a friend knows the owner and told us to try it out. Needless to say, if I want a REAL "Irish Pub," I'll stick with Gallagher's on Broadway. MUCH better food; better drinks; atmosphere, etc. It's a shame they call this place an "Irish Pub." Our food was on par with college dorm food and the service was inexcusable. While most of our party was away from the table, the expediter brought out a grilled cheese (which my girlfriend ordered) and a burger. We assumed someone else at the table ordered the burger and the rest of the table's food was on the way. Once our party returned, we realized the burger was actually supposed to go to the table next to us. We pointed it out to the waitstaff and they brought out our correct food. they started to take the burger, but then asked if we just wanted them to leave it. We assumed they left it because the only other option is for them to throw it away, so people at the table at SOME of the fries, and SOME of the burger. When we got our bill, the burger was on it. When we asked about it, the waitress's repose was, "Yeah, you ate it." Then she got the manager and a bartender, and all three women started yelling at us in front of all the other customers because we refused to pay for the hamburger we never ordered. After a few minutes of disputing the bill, the manager stormed off, then returned, threw the bill (literally threw it) at our table and yelled, "There! I took the burger off!" Anyone who knows restaurant operations knows the cost of a product should be 30% or so of the menu price, which means they made this scene for what would have cost them $2.10 or so to say, "Sorry, we made the mistake, we should pay for our mistake, not you." To be honest the food was so bad we probably wouldn't go back anyhow, but now I know for sure we won't. I'm hoping the other people at the tables near us won't go either after seeing that scene. As the final kicker, when the new bill was brought with the hamburger removed, there was a charge for a ranch sauce of $0.50 which no one at our table had received, even mistakenly. read more

All the other bar tenders were awesome but that lady ruined our experience and made us want to leave. I would want to come back a day this lady isn't working. Place has gone downhill a lot since we used to visit it often. Food quality has declined and they refused to serve us water unless we ordered it bottled, even for our designated driver. On top of that, the servers were not very responsive or friendly; maybe they were understaffed that day and stressed, but regardless you shouldn't take it our on customers. The servers and bartenders used to be amazing. Maybe it was a change in ownership or management, I didn't want to ask. This place was a favorite of ours and it's sad to see it in its current state. I looked at the reviews and the average rating in 2016 is 1.9 stars! :( Before I wrote this, I wanted to make sure I didn't just catch them on a bad day, but it's obvious I am not the only one to feel this way unfortunately.
