Best Boba in San Rafael. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I think I'll be visiting them a bit more frequently. I'm a fan of reducing the sugar on some of the lighter green teas, like down to 30%. There was a time that their rewards program actually texted me some pretty sweet deals. Not so much lately.. Having a boba shop in Marin is already stellar. Having a ShareTea in Marin? Now that's the jackpot! Or so I thought... I was super excited to learn about Marin's recent addition of a ShareTea as it's one of my fave boba places. This place is relatively new, having been open for a few months and it was already generating a buzz with lines out the door. Granted...the shop is also itty bitty and the kind in which you strictly place orders to go as there's only room for about two bar stools so lines are inevitably out the door. The service was a bit slow, but I'll be lenient seeing as they're all new and probably weren't sure of the amount of business they'd receive. We ordered a mango green milk tea, a QQ happy family milk tea, and a matcha red bean with ice cream. The mango green milk tea was diluted and lacking in tea flavor, but the mango syrup was great. QQ happy family (boba, pudding, lychee jelly, and red beans) was lacking in pudding - literally one piece...The matcha was the only hit among the three. Prices are typical for ShareTea, ranging from $3.5-4.75, excluding the cost of additional toppings. I will return as I feel there's much potential and I have yet to come across a ShareTea that has failed me. AMEN! Sharetea in Marin, finally a legit Taiwanese-style boba joint! Who knows, there might be a Din Tai Fung in the near future...wishful thinking. I'll just keep on wishing! The ladies behind the counter are friendly and strive to make the perfect drinks for their customers. No seating outside 'til Spring time one of the ladies mentioned due to some city ordinance. I'm reviewing this for my daughters since I'm not a big Boba fan. Whenever they order a drink, I will always have a sip. This is by far their favorite Boba shop. We've tried many shops around the Bay Area (Novato, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Davis...). I would've given this place 5 stars but there is definitely room for improvement. Both my daughters enjoy trying new flavors so they go down the list and try a new one each time. Once, my daughter ordered a drink that she really didn't like. I told her that she should take it back and ask for a different one. They made her a new drink, but we had to pay for it. Hmmm... It's not expected that they should replace it for free, but... Really.... We've been bringing straws from prior visits so that we contribute less to the amount of plastic waste in this world. MESSAGE TO THE OWNER: Please look into reusable boba cups and straws. San Francisco is banning the use of straws in July 2019. We all need to help with the endless stream of plastic waste. read more

I would disregard all of the bad reviews of late that complain about the online ordering system. There are clear signs in the window to order online via a QR code - it's not Sharetea's fault that those folks can't read. In fact, we've come to love the online ordering system because you can order your drink in advance and then just pick it up at the window. Having moved to San Rafael last year from SF, I was worried if there would be decent asian food up in Marin. And honestly, the Asian food is way better in the city BUT Sharetea in San Rafael offers really solid boba that rivals SF offerings. Their tapioca pearls are always the right level of chewiness and sweetness and their drinks are always well balanced. So happy to have a good boba place in town. read more

Sadly, I refuse to support a business that does not show basic kindness. I have been a loyal customer since it opened, ie averaging 2x a week for me and my 2 girls. We have a routine. I order online. Drive there. My girls run out to grab the already prepared drinks, and we're off. Love the QQ happy family and my girls love the blended mango! 2x a week - they know my girls. They know my name. Today, my younger daughter dropped one of the drinks right outside in the parking lot, only a few feet away, and she felt terrible (because it was my drink). I told her it was just an accident and to tell them what happened and they'll remake it. Even one of the neighbor nail salon employees who saw what happened, told my girls to ask if the boba shop could make another one. I was shocked when my daughter came back apologizing to me for dropping the drink, and saying that the lady said we had to buy another one. I assumed it was just one of the young workers who might not know common customer service. So I went in, explained the situation and sure enough, it was the owner who said no, we had to buy another one. And to make it even worse, she said If it had happened in the store, she would make a new one. But we were outside (literally a few feet away). So no. You're going to tell this to a very loyal customer who has supported your small business and you have literally seen over a few hundred times? Sad news. Very disappointing because we will not be supporting this owner anymore. Basic kindness, especially to an 8 year old who felt visibly awful about an innocent accident, should be the norm. I "like" Boba Tea but this place has me "Loving their Boba Tea!" Most places have the giant boba and a few different chewy things besides boba to add to your tea on the bottom~ there are toppings like ice cream! (too far for me) ;-D LOL This place is all that and a little extra and very busy as you pull into the small mini mall just before CVS? I love a milk tea and they have so many different versions of it besides the green(tropical) and black Milk Teas which I prefer. There are Regular flavors- fruit and chocolate, Coffee versions... there is definitely something for everyone and kind of an adventure in ordering...but one could easily order something terrible tasting so I have my suggestion below. I have long wondered all the different boba options and the lady mentioned the "Happy Family" one that had Big Boba, Small boba, several different Jellies & red beans...basically from this drink which was actually good, I deciphered what I didn't want and discovered what I do love! I love sharetea but the customer service is so bad! The cashiers are so rude for no reason! My friend and I stopped by because we wanted boba so bad. we were trying to look at the menu and the girl got frustrated bc we didn't order right away so she turned her back and started cleaning and ignored us for a few minutes. We then ordered and she said they had no more boba left so we just got our drink without any boba. Another customer walked in and she told him they only had mini pearls, and I asked if they had any boba left and she said no. Review #045 - 2018 We showed up around 8:15 PM on a Friday night and the place was pretty crowded so I decided to head over to get gas across the street first rather than wait in the long line. When we returned around 8:30'ish, the line had died down so I was able to place my order right away. The cashier was a young girl who didn't seem like she was too happy to see customers coming in at close to closing time. She informed me that they were completely out of bobas, which I was fine with since I don't order my drinks with boba any way. I placed an order for five drinks and a few more kids showed up after me. She told them all that they were out of boba as well and I guess those kids preferred bobas in their drinks so they left without making a purchase. The cashier and the guy making the drinks were so happy that the other customers left & couldn't contain themselves so they did their happy high fives. I find that very rude! Why are you working at a place that is suppose to be making money off of customers, yet you don't want to serve us? Kids these days have no work ethic. We don't have very many boba joints in Marin County, so this location likely gets all the business in town. The prices are on the higher end, but that hasn't stopped me from coming. I'm actually not a fan of large tapioca balls (boba), but they do offer smaller tapioca, as well as other toppings. My favorite is pudding. It sounds gross, but when added into honey milk tea, it's amazing. Their grass jelly and lychee jelly is also good. The space inside is small --- maybe room for 4 or 5 stools? Parking can also be particularly tricky if you're trying to get drinks on a sunny day like everyone else is. Even with long lines, the staff move pretty quickly. Also, speaking of staff --- they aren't the friendliest, but hey, I'm just here for dessert and I'm not staying. They haven't been rude either, so I'll keep going. Join the rewards program. I have had bubble tea in many places and this is worst place of them all. I ordered for a taro milk tea and I got a pale white milk tea with no taro taste. When I asked about it and said taro milk tea is usually a very light lavender in color and this one isn't and has no taste of taro at all, the owner was very rude and said it is taro tea. She insisted that if I ask her for a replacement she ll make it the same so no point doing that. Owner or manager is extremely rude. I accidentally dropped my drink seconds after picking it up from the front, so I asked if it would be possible to get a replacement drink. Her response was, "No, it wasn't my fault so I can't do anything about it." I would've been fine with her saying no if she had a legitimate excuse. This is the first time that a place of business has refused this kind of request. Really? They raised the price of Pearls, I paid 75cents for pearls that's not even fresh and it's hard. Shame shame... I believe majority of tea shops charge 50cents. There are barely other boba shops around this area. The milk tea is just standard. You can only adjust sweetness to as low as 30%, and it's still really sweet! I have been super excited to try this place! Now I'm just disappointed ! Nothing comparable to the other ShareTeas!! Seating is limited - only 4 seats available. They have a good amount of drinks to choose from. Remember you can choose your sweetness and ice level !! Because I totally forgot. Definitely regretted it. Should have gotten 80% sweetness or less for the Mango Passion Fruit. Ordered : Okinawa Milk Tea (can't change the sweetness) Mango Passion Fruit Green Tea The quality of their drinks is just subpar. The Mango Passion Fruit tasted way better than the Okinawa even though it was a little too sweet. The Okinawa was just bland. Didn't taste like roasted brown rice at all. The boba is okay. Definitely can opt out of those. Besides the mediocre drinks they have very poor customer service. No one greets you when you come in. You stand there hella awkwardly while waiting for the lady to finish up the drinks and pick up the calls before placing your order. A little acknowledgement would have been nice. That wasn't even the most awkward part. When I was waiting for my drinks the lady was lecturing and yelling at the other staff in mandarin about making drinks. Quality has downgraded severely, especially after Covid-19. I was a loyal customer, but after being consistently disappointed, I have no heart to spend my money at ShareTea. Boba is always not chewy, meaning it is not cooked well or too old (after a number of hours, boba is meant to be thrown away and remade, which Share Tea does NOT do). Sugar levels of tea/drink are always inconsistent. Please go to Teaspoon in Corte Madera for quality boba and drinks instead. read more

If you're in the mood for Bubble Tea in Marin, definitely stop by. Even though it's a chain, there was some great drink options. I also really like that you could get the mini-boba option. This place is legit. The only downside is the size of the location. There's not a lot of room once you step in. Heard from friends that sharetea is opening in San Rafael and four months later it finally opened. Great selection of bubble tea drinks and taste very authentic. 3.75 Pretty good for Marin, and I would say the best for the area. It's doesn't compare to the city but it's getting there. I'm sure they haven't been told this but whoever is cooking the boba pearls for the early orders does not cook it well. I've ordered around opening time and the boba pearls were hard and not chewy whatsoever. It was in really big uncooked clumps. I'm a little disappointed since I love this place but I don't recommend ordering around opening time. Rarely do I see the boba pearls uncooked when I order later in the day.
