Stopped into Rustic Bakery and had a really good experience. The staff was friendly, and everything moved fast even though it was a busy morning. I got a warm almond croissant ~flaky, buttery, and SO good ~and a vanilla latte that hit the spot. Ambiance clean and cute. Simple, quick, and delicious. Would definitely go back.

Yummmm

Sana’a Cafe - Coffee and pistachio cake

Right when I came in I just knew it was good and I got to ordering Parking is pretty open and convenient so it was easy to walk right over. I ordered on the kiosk which makes it easier and gives me more time to look at items. I kept it simple and got a strawberry lemonade which was very good and also in cute packaging. The interior of this place felt like I was in Dubai or something because of the gold and how fancy this place looks lol overall I love it and the music playing.

My new favorite go to coffee spot in Marin, especially if I am in downtown San Rafael…read more I tried two things I have never eaten before, and they both changed my world. I don't say that lightly. I'll start with Arabic light roast coffee that was a golden color and infused with cardamom. It was exactly what I was looking for that day. It tasted great, and it gave me to pick me up. I needed for the rest of the afternoon. I have never seen coffee that color. It was delightful. As for the fatayer, it is basically the Yemeni version of an empanada. I am very much a savory breakfast person, so this was a special treat. The spices were amazing, and it was cooked to perfection. This is one of the items you can see in the display case that they warm up for you on the spot. There were also many desserts and other food options. I should also note that I ordered on a large tablet display, which included several different drink, and food options. Honestly, the menu was a little bit overwhelming given the number of choices, but it also makes me think that there is so much more that I need to try next time. I needed to get some work done, so I sa myself down on the very comfortable couch, which conveniently contained a Wi-Fi password stuck to the edge of the adjacent table. It was very chill, and if I didn't have an appointment to get you I certainly could've stayed there all day. I am excited to try some other things on the menu and continue to support this local business.

Wow!! Hands down the best pastries in Petaluma (and maybe further)…read more The selection of both sweet and savory options is out of this world. SO many croissant, muffins, bread, cake, and other pastries to choose from. You can never leave with just one (hence my order of 5 items) Coffee is also delish and the quality of all the food is top tier. Lovely customer service as well. Nice outdoor seating on a sunny day :)

Cute little bakery in downtown Petaluma-- it's bright, airy, and has a friendly neighborhood joint…read morevibe. They have specialty shelf stable chocolate and snacks and a display full of beautiful desserts! ** pistachio cream puff (4.5/5): unlike the more traditional choux shell, this one was laminated like croissant dough-- fun! The cream was also thick enough to not leak everywhere and didn't taste artificial. Really enjoy this one! ** strawberry and cream chiffon cake slice (3.5/5): didn't really feel like a chiffon cake or maybe it was on the drier side. It worked well with the mascarpone frosting though, which was smooth and a little too rich for me by itself. There wasn't too much strawberry besides the sweet jam layer in the middle. ** Brutta mi buoni (4/5): translated to "ugly but delicious," this craggly meringue actually caught my eye and curiosity for its looks. I'm usually not a fan of meringues, but this one was loaded with nuts and was tasty. Kind of tastes like a refined version of those Lucky Charms cereal marshallows in a good way! Happy with my little haul at Stellina Pronto! They were friendly and had a few window seats + outdoor seating. I'll probably stop by next time I'm in the area to try some new items. Definitely check them out if you're nearby!

Upon my first visit I noticed some outdoor seating below street level (in the Kaiser building) and checked it out when I was done with what I'd come for. The place was Los Gamos Cafe and it was neat, clean, and quiet and the prepared salads they had looked enticing enough that I inquired where they'd come from (Debbie Ghiringelli Catering) since there appeared to be no food prep facilities on-site. When I returned days later I was early and hungry and made my way back to Los Gamos Cafe for one of those salads which consisted of chopped lettuce, a big piece of sliced chicken, some fried won ton skins, and dressing. At $11 it seemed a reasonable price but I was proven wrong. I'm one who rarely leaves food on a plate and the chicken in this salad was overcooked and unseasoned; the consistency/texture and flavor rendered it inedible to me and I tossed away at least 75%. So $11 was actually too much. If you want a quiet place from which to enjoy a coffee drink or some other prepared food Los Gamos Cafe - inside Kaiser Permanente - is worth knowing about but I'd stop well short of recommending it for a salad.

I met up with a friend for lunch at Creekside Bakery and we both left really happy with our meal…read more We sat outside and I appreciated that they had blankets available for guests. I ordered the carrot soup and my friend got the egg salad toast. My soup came in a really generous bowl, so generous that I actually had leftovers to take home. It was comforting and flavorful, and perfect for a lighter meal. I also ordered a lavender latte that was absolutely delicious. For dessert we shared the princess cake, which was definitely the highlight. The whipped cream layer was so light and airy and balanced perfectly with the cake. It wasn't overly sweet. Overall it was a really enjoyable lunch and we both agreed we'd definitely come back to try more things on the menu.

The…read morecake is a white sponge cake, with whipped cream and a house-made coffee crunch caramel candy topping. It was easy to order by phone and pick up two days later. It was a little drive for me, but worth the specialness. The cake was an 8-inch cake for $65. A little pricey, but for a birthday was okay. The cake was delicious, and everyone loved it, but my memories (from a now-defunct local bakery in San Rafael) made me compare too much between the imagined and the actual. Given that, the cake was still very good overall. The topping was a bit more toffee than coffee, and more chewy than crunchy. The banner was perfect for the irregular topping A perfect cake for a perfect party!
