The service is great. We came in here for 3 breakfasts while staying at the Kimpton. The French Toast is amazing and the bacon was perfectly cooked. My husband enjoyed his breakfast and they cooked his eggs perfectly for him(well done). We would definitely come back even if we weren't staying here.

Wow this place blew my mind. The food is fantastic. The menu is relatively small. Though it is absolutely packed with flavor . The place is beautiful. The wood and decor set the tone. The service is amazing. Fast kind staff. Very professional. Great work dinner or romantic spot to take a date. They say you should never get a steak at a seafood restaurant. This place is absolutely the exception. The ribeye was fabulous. With a crispy outer crust. You get that crunch and flavor with a cut that just melts after 1-2 bites. The carrot were just the right density and not too hard not too mushy. Great flavor especially with the Demi glaze. The prawns were the best I've ever had. Fresh large prawns with a little hint of Smokey flavor that doesn't overwhelm the flavor. With the baba ghanoush and artichoke just a delight with every bite. I cannot recommend this place enough. Worth every penny.

Wow! Those potatoes are incredible-crisp outside and soft inside!

We had breakfast here and it was absolutely amazing. I had the Shaved Ham Eggs Benedict and my wife had the French Toast. The breakfast potatoes are the best that I have ever had --anywhere!! I definitely look forward to trying their dinner menu!

The menu is limited but everything we tried was delicious. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they acknowledged it with a lovely handwritten card. He tried one of their curated cocktails but found it too sweet. Our server brought him a Manhattan after asking his favorite whiskey. The crab appetizer was a complex delicious mix of flavors. The risotto was buttery and rich while the Haikkado scallops were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The pattypan squash was a little too bitter for me. The place is small but the tables are far enough apart for privacy.

Shakers and Spears has a warm, welcoming vibe, and the service was genuinely friendly. The kind of brunch spot where you feel taken care of. The Dutch baby was the real winner: chewy, and puffy golden edges, blackberries, candied nuts, and a fruit drizzle. That was the most memorable thing on the table. The fish sandwich was fine but a little underwhelming. Crispy bacon and a generous salmon fillet, but the bun came out cold, which threw off the whole bite. At around $25, that detail matters. The most disappointing thing were the Fries, which were on the harder side. Tables are tight, so plan for elbow-to-elbow seating. Worth it for the Dutch baby. I'd order differently next time. Food was 3 stars, but 1 star for our server.

Super clean modern vibe inside, open kitchen which is really fun and really attentive service. Hamachi crudo is a must try! All entrees were great too. We went for a v-day weekend and it was bustling and fun.

Made rvsp for my bestie's Sunday brunch about a week prior. The staffs were all welcoming and exceptional service. They comped my bestie's drink and gave us free desserts. I recall if was chocolate ice cream with berries & bourbon glaze topped with walnuts. I was surprised we were the only guests in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend this for brunch date. I would like to come back to try their other items on the other menus. Smoked salmon Benedict was amazing! Egg was perfectly poached and the salmon was so fresh! My friends said their food tasted so good. A really good crab roll & delicious burger. We all agreed this was a great brunch spot. Staffs were kind and made it such a special memory. Come early to find parking or valet next door Palladian Hotel. We were there for under 90 min, so our valet was $12.

This Shaker + Spear review is long overdue, but better late than never! Shaker + Spear is more high end than my usual, and also more seafood-focused than my usual. Overall, the ambiance, service, and food was great. I tried the oysters, octopus, crab avocado, and seared scallops - everything was presented nicely and tasted delicious. While this isn't necessarily my style, I would definitely come back if in the area again!

We stayed at the Kimpton the restaurant is located in, so got to enjoy breakfast and dinner here. For breakfast, the waygu steak and eggs was tender, cooked to perfection and very filling. Even the classic two egg breakfast was executed well, and very filling with a healthy amount of crispy potatoes and toast. The only complaint was the sausage was barely warm. For dinner, we tried the clams which also had chorizo, a tasty kimchi broth and plenty of toasted bread for dipping into the broth. The brussel sprouts were nicely charred but perhaps overdone on whatever sauce they were in, which added a bit too much saltiness for my likeing, and same went for the burnt bread sauce the salmon was cooked in that added too much saltiness. Service was good and attentive for each meal. Ambiance was basic for breakfast but for dinner they have dim lighting and candles at the table, which is a nice touch.

We came here on Valentine's Day to celebrate my birthday, and WOW -- what an unforgettable dinner. From the moment we walked in, they acknowledged our special occasion and made us feel genuinely celebrated. It wasn't just a quick "happy birthday" -- it felt intentional. The service was absolutely top notch. Our server guided us through the menu with fantastic recommendations, helped us choose the perfect starter, suggested thoughtful drink pairings, and made the entire experience feel effortless and elevated. Now let's talk about the food. We started with the Grilled Prawns and the Seafood Tostada as a special treat. The grilled prawns came with carrot coconut curry, hearts of palm, fresno chili, and kaffir lime oil -- and let me tell you, that carrot coconut curry was fire. Smoky, rich, perfectly balanced. The hearts of palm complemented the prawns beautifully. Of the two starters, this was our favorite. The Seafood Tostada was stunning -- beautifully plated, even down to the volcanic salt-dipped lime. A true visual moment. For our entrée, we had the 16oz Branzino with fried potatoes... and I am still thinking about it a week later. Absolutely delicious. No notes. Chef's kiss. The skin was perfectly crispy, the fish was juicy and flavorful, and the fried potatoes were seasoned to complement it flawlessly. Worth. Every. Penny. I would order it again in a heartbeat. We don't usually go for dessert, but since it was a special occasion we had the Brown Butter Kombucha Crème Brûlée -- and I'm so glad we did. Smooth, rich, decadent without being overly sweet. Heavenly. This was hands down the best meal of our special weekend and the highlight of our food adventure. They know how to celebrate you. They know how to deliver exceptional service. And they absolutely know how to cook. We'll be back.

I was stopping over in Seattle on my way to a trip to Africa. I found this great restaurant near my hotel. First of all the service was excellent. Warmly greeted at the entrance and my waiter Alexis did a great job. I had the Chive Omelette, which was very good. Very casual and would recommend!

Came in on a Friday night for a bite and ended up at the bar next to the chef's area. Absolutely incredible work by chef Alex, who mesmerized me with his attention to detail and flawless execution! They sent me some cute oysters on the house which was very sweet and Adrienne took great care of me during the meal. I normally don't order salmon but WOW the salmon was so decadent, moist, and flavorful and the cabbage somehow also vied for the spotlight. I think the texture combinations of really was phenomenal and I love how each dish was so carefully crafted. The hamachi crudo had small slices of an orange vegetable between--I couldn't make out exactly what it was but it cut the acidity of the dish absolutely perfectly. This may be my favorite hamachi crudo! The service was paced a bit slow which I don't mind in general but being a solo diner left a bit less to do between dishes, however the view of chef Alex was quite the entertainment! Well executed all around with bold and fantastic flavors and textures. A true delight!

Lovely interior and charming service personnel; you forget that it's a hotel restaurant. Unfortunately the food and drink remind you by their average taste. The hazelnut espresso martini was well chilled, but not particularly strong. The biscuits and gravy were well presented, but the gravy was lukewarm at best and the andouille sausage was not sautéed enough to release its customary punch. Honestly, it looked a sliced hot dog. The biscuit had a good flavor and texture but should have been better toasted. The hash was a large portion, with a good flavor profile; the lemony sautéed kale really spruced it up. However, for an extra $8 one expects more than a few shreds of duck confit.

First of all, the oysters were outstanding! They have tanks here, so the person who takes your order picks your oysters. The oysters were uber fresh, briny and succulent. Secondarily, the salad was large and a nice palate cleanser w/ the lemon and fresh anchovies. The blonde waitress was really nice and brought me more anchovies. Next was the steamers (clams & mussels). Both shellfish were super fresh and cooked in a mild broth. The only thing missing was some frites. Lastly, the moqueca had a rich broth, and a little bit of rice to balance the broth. There was a ton of fresh seafood, and we dipped the sourdough baguette to mop up the broth. I had some of the crab roll & fries, and both were really good. The roll was packed w/ fresh crab, and the fries were cooked twice. Again the only downside was the $45 price. Regarding the ambiance, its nice in here. However, the "half shell" seats leave much to be desired. They are too tight for 4 people. I sat on the outside, and the person to my left kept hitting me w/ her knees: She is only 5 foot. It would be impossible for an average height person to sit next to me. Lauren R was a very good waitress. She was attentive, friendly and on top of things. On the other hand, the kitchen did not space our oysters well vs the mains. It took a long time to get our mains. Two other tables that ordered after us received their food before us (major pet peeve for me). 3.5 Stars overall. The food is pricey (nearly $100/each - one person had clam chowder and no one had alcohol), and the "half shell" seating doesn't work for me. However, the staff is friendly and the food tastes good.
