    Spicy chicken bulgogi
    Ann N.

4.5 bumped to a 5. If you're looking for some authentic Korean dishes that are hard to find elsewhere, especially ones that involve sashimi/raw fish or crab this is the place to go! I tried their sea bream sushi and it was quite good. I will come back to try things like the Hwedupbap. I had the seafood tofu soup. It has an authentic taste to it - it could have a stronger flavor but I understand the masses may not enjoy a super funky flavor. My partner got the spicy chicken bulgogi and it tasted like a home cooked dish. If only for a hot second, I saw the cutest old lady cooking in the back! Home cooking??? Service was super kind and helpful in explaining since it was our first time. The place itself was very clean and modern. We will be coming back!

I had to go again because I couldn't stop thinking about it. The place is a bit of a drive for me but we'll worth it. This tume we tried their tempura, which was fresh and they weren't skimpy on the shrimp. We also got a very tasty ube Macha drink. Even tried different rolls. Along with their free starter it was another greta experience.

First time trying this place and my favorite was their spicy marinated crab, this item isn't always on Korean restaurant's menus. I'll definitely be returning for them, so delicious! Also enjoyed their bone in short rib, spicy bulgogi, some sushi. I wasn't a huge fan of their oysters, thought the choice of sauce and garnishes can improve. Service was great, the restaurant itself has good ambiance, sushi chefs are towards the back of the restaurant where you can watch them chef it up during your dining experience.

Surf & Turf and Tiger Roll. Both YUMMY

The sushi was delicious!! My first time visiting Seoul Shi and I really enjoyed the Surf and Turf roll flavors stacked for days! The Tiger roll was also delicious. Wasn't pleased with the edamame and miso soup the were less than meh like microwaved in the bar area. Service was ok, but they were short staffed and hustling, hopefully this was just a one time thing.

    Pork dumplings

We tried an array of Korean dishes and sushi on our visit, and were impressed with both! We started with fried Pork Dumplings and Japchae. The dumplings were good, but the Japchae was much better. The dish was quite large -- it would be good to share among several people or have it as an entree. The mix of noodles, mushrooms, vegetables and meat was delicious, and the mushrooms in particular carried the flavors well. We also got Bulgogi, which came with rice and miso soup, the Chao Chao Roll, and the Reverse Rainbow Roll. The sushi rolls were great. I always love when places have few unique house specials; Seoul + Shi delivers on that front! The Chao Chao Roll was mildly spicy, with fresh, smooth fish, and a perfect pop of acid from the lemon. The Reverse Rainbow Roll was excellent as well. Both rolls were lightly sauced with ponzu, which I found to be lovely without any additional soy sauce or other dips. I absolutely want to try more of their specialty rolls! We definitely over-ordered because we were excited, but the leftovers we took home were still great the next day.

    Soft opening

We were invited to the soft opening of SEOUL + SHI, owned by the same amazing folks behind Kotu (one of my favorite Korean BBQ spots). We weren't sure what to expect, but it was absolutely fantastic! We got to sample a generous selection from their menu, and everything was delicious. The sushi was incredibly fresh with beautiful presentation. The tofu soup was a standout, my friends loved it! It comes out sizzling hot, so be careful and let it cool for a few minutes before digging in. The restaurant is just a few doors down from Dickman's Meats on Oracle. For a soft opening, the place ran like a well-oiled machine. The space is open and clean, and the sushi bar tucked in the back corner adds a nice touch. I'm already looking forward to coming back soon. Definitely make an effort to try them out, you won't be disappointed!

Nice new restaurant. We enjoyed the Japchae a lot. We also had spicy pork bulgogi which was tasty but not very spicy. I had the Eel Dupbap: a fusion dish with eel on rice. It was quite tasty. Overall the meal was quite expensive but it was very good.

    Spicy chicken

Wow, definitely a fan. Everything we had was delish! Chao Chao roll, Tokyo Roll, spicy chicken (we asked for extra spicy), & bulgolgi. Chicken and bulgolgi were so tender. Great service as well.

    Spicy Braised Black Cod

Omg! A wonderful dinner with well seasoned and flavored dishes. Our orders tonight included the seafood pancake, the spicy pork bulgogi, Tiger roll and the spicy braised black cod. While they are known for their sushi... the braised black cod entree was the table favorite as I have not had cod flavored and tasted so delicious before (or for that matter radishes served with the cod that have tasted so good). Of note, the cod does have bones ... which I gladly picked out. Added bonus were the complimentary soup and salad that come with entrees... my dining partner does not do salad but ended up wiping clean their salad plate. We enjoy dining at their sister restaurant Kotu... but we appreciated how the same dishes were seasoned differently (ex pork bulgogi or the fish cakes) as well as options for a whole new menu to explore. Service was attentive. The space was sleek and cozy. Lots of parking available. Definitely will return to try out more of the menu... however our big challenge is the future is having to pick between the two restaurants as they both have such delicious food!

Halibut, sea bream, salmon, tuna x2 and yellowtail

For tucson this is amazingly fresh and tasty sushi. I have had Michelin-rated sushi in Japan so I am a bit picky. This was a massive pleasant surprise. The pieces are nice size too. I am used to the stingy LA pieces. Highly recommended.

    Hwedupbab
    Jacqueline D.

Great food, great service, bright and airy. Been here over 5 times and and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend the hwedupbab which is like Korean poke salad, seafood pancake and seafood soup

Seoul+Shi is great. Friendly staff, amazing food, and fresh fish. It's really nice to have a choice between hot Korean dishes, grilled seafood, cold seafood, and sushi. Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful offering suggestions and explaining dishes.

    Chao chao roll
    Shannon B.

Our first time at Seoul+Shi and we will be back. We had the Chao Chao roll, beef bulgogi, japjae, calamari, and the banchan that came with it. The beef bulgogi was melt in your mouth, the roll was incredible, the calamari was a regret. The breading looked like an onion ring, and it was like chewing on a car tire. So get everything else, except that. The service was fairly quick, and the appetizers did not come out first. Our server was super nice, and seemed knowledgeable about the menu. Great date night spot.

The amount of sushi you get compared to cost makes it very affordable. The plating is amazing as you can see in the photos. We opted for the combos which come with several pieces of sushi and some come with sashimi as well and rolls. The cuts of sushi were large and fresh. There was wasabi and ginger if you enjoy those. The rolls were creative and delicious. Our favorite was Ni Bistro roll followed by the Emerald. The sushi"wich" was very creative and looked like a sandwich. The Ni Bistro was full of flavor and had a lot of pieces. Overall, we highly recommend this new find on the Northwest side!

Fresh, wholesome sushi but lowest quality. Serving board really banged up chipping lacquered wood possibly harboring bacteria. No happy hour, no bentos. We arrived around 7:30 p.m., and the restaurant doesn't close until 9:30 p.m. Not even 20 minutes after we sat down, while there were still plenty of customers coming in and the restaurant was nearly full, the staff had already started removing food trays and weren't replacing them. It felt like they were shutting the buffet down long before closing time. To make matters worse, employees were mopping the floors around our feet while we were still eating, leaving the floors extremely slippery and making us feel rushed. The BBQ/sushi area closed at 8:30 p.m., and there were only three plates of dried-out sushi left. We never even got the chance to try the BBQ station they advertise. The desserts were dry and unappetizing, and overall the food was bland and lacked flavor. We spent $112 for dinner, plus a $20 tip because our server was attentive, friendly, and deserved it. The service from him was the only positive part of our visit. For the price, this experience was not worth it. I do not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

If we were giving it a grade, it would rate at a, "B" (*good in effort and the results... but not amazing or anything to sit down and write a yelp review about). But this time, I really-really enjoyed the experience. So much so, that I am now typing out a review. My hope is that someone else (*that would be you) might have a similar experience up at RA Sushi. For us, the stars aligned (as they sometimes do) and all parts of the meal converged to create an almost-perfectly assembled puzzle of culinary pleasure. The staff was welcoming and charming. As we pulled open the large entrance door, the hostess greeted us with a warm and welcoming smile. Our waiter was observant (but not overly so) and checked on us periodically to see how we were faring. He made suggestions and engages with a really good demeanor that some people just seem to have that makes them immediately likable. The ambiance was comfortable and pleasant. We were there towards the end of the lunch service, so tables were starting to clear. And most importantly, the food was exceptionally tasty. My wife and I apparently were mind-melding as we looked over the menu, for when the waiter returned to our table to take our order we both had decided on the same bento box...the one with steak, sashimi, a fresh salad, and an assortment of vegetables and shrimp tempura. I enjoyed all parts of the compartmentalized presentation, but the "stand out" for the box was, by far, the sashimi. I say the following with all-honestly: Those sliced bits of fish were as fresh and succulent as any that I have ever had. I am originally from Hawaii (where sashimi is a big part of local cuisine) and we visited Japan a few years ago and enjoyed sashimi from fish that was just-pulled from the sea. I am a little perplexed as to how, here in land-locked, Tucson that fish was so incredibly fresh. But somehow, it was and each chew that I clumsily chop-sticked into my face was savored and deeply enjoyed. Up at the start of this review, I described the experience as "almost perfect"--hinting that something was not exactly right... The minor speed- bump for the meal occurred when I took my first tentative nibble of the steak. It was "sizzley-hot" upon touching down on our table, so I took a small teeth-only-to-protect-my-lips-from-getting-burned bite. The first chew of meat that I took had a small wedge of cartilage or gristle. As it turns out, that was the only piece of the entire assembly of small bits of steak that was imperfect. That may be a pretty-good metaphor for the experience that we had at RA on that Thursday afternoon, in early July, in the year of our Lord 2026. We began the meal knowing that it was going to be pretty good (*based on past experience), but didn't expect a "stand out" lunch. Similarly, the first bite of steak was flavorful, but not fantastic. But, then to our pleasant surprise, the meal really found it's stride and came together to become memorable. (Eh, maybe that was not that great of a metaphor for the experience--but you get the idea). My wife (who is not as easily impressed as I am), agreed that it was really-really good. Further evidence of her really liking the meal came when I over-heard her tell my daughter, on the phone, later that evening, that we all really need to go back, the next time she comes to visit us in Tucson.
