The food food is amazing. I get either the kimchi stew or japchae. The portions along with the side of rice, make it enough food to have to lunch the next day. The sides are always my favorite part of going to Korean restaurants, and I really enjoy theirs. Each server we have had is friendly and helpful when we have questions about the menu. Getting your food does take a long time though. I am assuming because it's always packed, plus they get a lot of online orders. So if you go, just know that you will be there for a while. read more

Although I like the food, I ordered two meals for delivery. I only got sides enough for one meal, and the portions were not even enough for a child. as expensive as their food is that's ridiculous! I won't order for takeout from there again read more

Amazing little Korean Restaurant in Midtown. Located off Speedway near Alvernon, it is a tight turn to get into with parking on sides of building. They fill quick due to the size, so consider a reservation or come early. Inside there are about 20 tables for small and larger groups, a small bar area and some side enclosed seating. The staff are very friendly and this is an UPBEAT and somewhat Formal feeling restaurant, but the vibe has a hint of K-Pop thanks to the TV screens with music and other Korean programing. There is a variety of drinks, alcoholic and not from South Korea and other locations. The menu is pretty varied with many tasty options. Our group had BBQ and kimchi and other tasty options. I tried all and they were fantastic and tasty. They also serve most items with soup and small Korean side dishes. Pricing is reasonable and our services was perfect, just enough checking in to meet our needs and never far away. Will be back. read more

I have tried all the Korean Restaurants on the East Side of Tucson except Gen a d Korean House is the best by far. We got the Spicy Pork Bulgogi and the meat was super tender, juicy and not dried out. The portions were great and the service superb. The restaurant is quaint with lovely Korean decor. Plenty of seating and even offers private party booths. read more

A crime to call this place Korean food. Ordered Bulgogi and it wasn't even thinly sliced meat like bulgogi should be. It was just squares. But that wasn't even the worst part, the beef came out grey looking. No sear, no color, under-seasoned, not marinated. Even more unforgivable, the damn dish didn't even come with rice. Overpriced with no rice. Served on some cow shaped cast iron because that will justify how expensive the food is. Never coming back. read more

I've had nneng myun cold noodles in Wash DC, NYC, LA, Las vegas, and Korea. I'm shocked to find the best nneng myun I've ever had in Tuscon! Perfectly done cold broth and perfect noodles. Thank you to the new hire John, for all the delicious accoutrements and the hospitality! read more

Took them over 30 mins to get our order. Then another 1 hour to get the food out. Overall over 2 hours of time. Food was pretty good though. I would eat there again if it wasn't so expensive and didn't take so long. read more

First time trying this place. Small restaurant, place lacks decor. Person who greeted us is not very friendly, thank goodness she was not our server. The server we had was very nice, friendly and accommodating. We were hete because of my cravings. I love soups and I love the Korean Spicy Beef Soup, I saw it on their menu, that's why I need to come check this place out. And I was not disappointed. Hubby ordered Beef Kalbi and loved it! There's still a lot to try from the menu, but I have to save some room for dessert. I ordered the Korean shaved ice with red bean. It's good and they give you a lot. Definitely coming back. read more

My son was craving traditional Korean cuisine. I had to rely on Yelp to help guide me for some legit Korean food here in Tucson. As we pulled up to the parking lot we can tell this restaurant has been here for a long time. Decor is not much but it's always about the actual food for me. Lots of T.V. screens playing K-Drama shows. Here is what we ordered: - Bean Paste Stew - Hot Stone Bowl Bibimbap - Samayeopsal We all enjoyed our meal. We can tell it was made with love. When we finished, the chef came by to ask how we enjoyed our meal. This family owned business has been opened for 3 decades. Originally from Seoul, Korea, the owner moved to Kansas before settling in Tucson. I really appreciate her sharing her story with us. So if you want good Korean food, I highly recommend this place. read more

Since first visit, the family has visited several more as the experience and the food keeps getting better. It is our go to for when the wife (who is Korean) is feeling the urge for good authentic Korean food. Family owned & operated (3rd Generation), and the pride is shown in the quality of the food, the environment and the service. It can be a family outing or date night- the atmosphere is there for both. Wife loves it so much, she insisted we get t-shirts. This has only happened twice so it has to be good. read more

Amazing service and food. I always get the chicken bulgogi and kimbap. Owner is extremely nice!

I'm so grateful that this place was recommended to me. I was not sure what to expect, but I LOVED this place. It has a little hole in the wall type feel. The staff were all so nice and the food was amazing! I have been wanting to try jajangmyeon for forever and it was incredible. I could drink of bowl of that black bean sauce. We also got some kimchi soup which was also delicious. I'm pretty sure I'll make this a go to spot from now on. read more

Food and service was very good. Hot.l and well seasoned. Good for the next day. Close to my home

I ordered take out here on Friday night and it was so seamless and easy which I appreciated. The staff on the phone was friendly, and answered all my questions happily. When I got there, I saw the inside has been updated since I was last here. That was a welcome surprise. They have a small dinning room with tables that seemed close together, and private like rooms as well along the side. The bathroom was clean but out of paper towels. I ordered the pork bulgogi combo #5 & the pork kalbi ribs. The combo looked great and was a good portion of food. The ribs were good, a little saucier than I'd like, and REALLY spicy, which somehow I'd missed in the description. The sides that came with it (cucumber, kimchi, sprouts) were really good but not a good portion for 2 peoples meals. I asked about it at pickup and she told me it was 1 per order.. seemed stingy to me for the good price you're paying. I paid $45 for the two orders. read more

The reviews of this place being older is correct, but the food and service are excellent. From what I saw online they've been run by the same family since 1985. I called in for a reservation for 10 at 6 PM. They seemed backed up so we waited a bit longer than I would have thought to get seated. This wasn't a problem as I think they have a smaller staff. The food and drinks came out quickly. Definitely try this place out. The food quality and value are great. Our server was definitely a fun guy. read more

Excellent! As Korean food aficionados from WA State we loved comparing the food here at Tucson's Korea House. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was great. The kimchi was quite different, more saucy than at home. Also fewer side dishes here (3) than at home (4-7). Nonetheless we were very pleased with what we ordered and look forward to coming back. read more

The restaurant itself is simple, no frills, but the food is excellent! Def recommend starting with the seafood pancake,it's by far the best one in Tucson. Everyone always gets the beef bulgogi in Korean restaurants but at Korea House, the samgyeopsal (marinated pork bbq) is delicious, and is a must try. Personally, I always order a soft tofu soup at Korean places. At this place they have a seafood one and vegetarian variety. It's great you can choose the spice level. The portions are huge and you know you'll have a filling meal. For dessert, the patbingsu they have here is an interesting concoction, worth a try. The service may seem sparse, but all the staff are actually very attentive, especially with refilling the drinks. Korea House is such a treat and is a great place for food and good experience overall. Would definitely come back here regularly. read more

I will say that the food is flavorful, however I was a bit disappointed with the beef bulgogi and banchan (or side dishes). The sides were very basic, cucumber, bean sprouts (which were good), and potatoes. I guess I am used to more variety in my banchan. The bulgogi was chopped super large. I think if you are not used to or haven't had Korean food that isn't so watered down this place may suit your fancy. But if you have ever lived in Korea or been to places that put their all into serving Korean dishes - I'd say pass. To be fair, the experience may be different if I ate in. I had mine delivered. Kind of disappointed for the price paid. read more

This joint has always been a favorite of mine. They've since decorated the interior, but I've had many dishes here and enjoyed them. My partner took me here for dinner (never been here). This place is no-frills, straight to the point home- cooked meals; their food reminds me of home. We feasted on beef and chicken bulgogi, chicken and vegetables, an assortment of sides like kimchi and other pickled vegetables, and ginseng tea. The servers were polite and affable, and the restaurant is clean and orderly. We will definitely add this place to our repertoire of eateries. read more

Cold lady reception. Sterile setting with a big flat screen tv. Several enclosed booths with i believe cooking grills. I ordered spicy pork bulgogi and a chicken bulgogi to go. A tasty small bowl of tofu soup came. The pork was nicely spicy and came on a too small bed of onions. A small bowl of white rice and only 4 bonchon which i found disappointing. I chose jasmine hot tea that gets a fresh tea bag every refill. It came in a ceramic cup that was too hot to touch. I poured it over a glass of ice. Bathrooms were nice & clean. Probably wud not come again just becuz the bonchon. read more

Don't let the outside deceive you! We always drive by this place and we never thought to stop here because the outside was a bit underwhelming. However, we made the decision to stop here for lunch and was it the best decision ever! This place seemed to newly renovated, clean, and friendly service. We did think it was a bit quiet in the restaurant but we enjoyed the quietness. The food was the MVP OF THE SHOW. My partner got ribs which I am not a very big fan of and let me tell you those ribs where the BEST pork ribs i've ever had. Beware the pork ribs are SPICY! if you don't eat spice this is not a good option for you. The house soup I was a bit worried to try just because of the color, but it was my second favorite thing I had. I could eat an entire bowl. If you have ever had Caldo de Papa it taste very similar. Overall, everything WAS SUPERB and will be coming here again. read more

I have come here a couple times in the past and thought that it was lacking before. I recently went and my mind completely changed. There was one server there and he was super nice and had a fun personality. I ordered Tteokboki and a rice dish with 3 different entrees. Everything was cooked great, except for the bulgogi was a little cold and could use a little more caramelization. The fried shrimp was the star of the show because of the size and its amazing flavor.
