I've been here 3 times and have loved the food that I got all times. I do wish the kimbap weren't premade though, because I saw my favorite Korean youtuber eat it and was so excited to try it, but I don't eat poultry or dark meats, only fish. The young lady waitress was happy to point out the pescatarian options on the menu and explain what things were. I'm so happy to enjoy another's cultural food. The environment in the restaurant is also very family friendly and plays korean music on the tv's, which i liked. And the wait is reasonable, and so are the prices, in my opinion. They aren't priced like fast-food, mind you, but all of the food is great quality and authentic from what I've seen from my favorite Korean youtuber and what she eats on her camping trips. It's a bummer to write a lower review after giving a five star review of the day, but this place has changed a lot. Since they expanded and changed the decor to be more k-pop culture forward, the food quality and service has changed. The change in food quality has been the hardest to come to terms with. I've gone a couple times in the last year, and this most recent time I was the most disappointed. To start, the side dish servings were small, which is whatever because you can ask for more for free. The side dishes also varied in taste depending on the day -- the traditional Kimchi and the cucumber kimchi salad are the most notable in variability of flavor. Sometimes they have potato salad, sprouts or fish cake as a side dish, but I haven't seen that in a while. My favorite dish was the Tteok-bokki, which was a spicy ramen with rice cakes, fish cakes and veggies. Last several times I ordered it, there were barely any veggies and they didn't add the fish cakes. The sauce also seemed thinner and less flavorful, being more on the sweet side than spicy. I also ordered the bibimbop which comes with Bulgolgi and I am not kidding, they only had three pieces of thinly sliced beef in there. I don't know what's up with the inconsistencies, but I feel like every time I'm there the dishes don't taste the same. This used to be my go to Korean food spot, but I'm going to revisit Korea House and Kogi, and now Bonchon in the meantime. read more

Kimchi Time offers a decent asian dining experience for Tucson. I got the hot Stone Bibimbap which had crispy rice with well-seasoned veggies, a fried egg, and just the right amount of spice if you add in the gochujang. Definitely the dish to try. The Kimchee Fried Rice was decent but very spicy for my non-existent spice tolerance. The spice flavor overpowers the rice, making it a bit one-dimensional. The side dishes were underwhelming. The kimchi was probably the best side dish. The other side dishes had rather interesting flavors. Came here with my mom after a hospital visit. The place was empty but we didn't mind at all. I ordered the Bibim Naengmyun and Kimbop but was a bit disappointed with the Kimbop as it was dry. It definitely needed some sort of sauce to not be so dry. I added some of the Naengmyun sauce and it definitely helped. I'm not one to write bad reviews, that was just my only complaint although I did not bring it up to the waitress. She was very nice and friendly. I've never had Korean food before. I've been reading so much on the health benefits of kimchi, I've been curious to try it. I'm so glad I came here because I they give out little sides of vegetables (one, of course, is kimchi). For my entree I got the Kimchi Jjigae. I preferred the kimchi in the hot soup as opposed to it being cold (the side dish). This is going to be something I will order in the future whenever I'm craving a soup - especially when I'm feeling under the weather. I love spicy soups. Also, I think I should mention that all of the staff is friendly and prompt. One in particular took her time with us, as I mentioned that I had never had Korean food before ( I was unsure of some of the menu items). She also told me her Mom makes the kimchi daily, and I was really impressed with that. We drive thru and stay the night in Tuscon every year-we try to order take out from a different place every year. Well, traveling on New Year's Day does have its disadvantages when looking for something other than fast food, but this place was open! We called ahead 30 minutes out from our hotel-the gentleman on the phone was polite and cheery. As the background noise sounded like it was hopping in there, he told us the order would be ready in 30-40 minutes. During the time for pickup, we quickly headed over to the restaurant, which was only about 5 minutes away. We were immediately greeted by the same gentleman that took our order over the phone-he was again so very polite! We had the Bibimbap; it was fresh and enough for 2-3 meals in itself. This place reminds me of itaewon. This "pub" is honestly hands down the best authentic Korean place around Tucson. Everything is homemade and the recipe is honestly incredible. KIMCHI TIME, EVERY TIME!! It truly is a gem in Tucson. A little hole in the wall talked away in the shopping center, filled with incredible food. First and foremost, you must immediately order the KFC, or Korean fried chicken as an appetizer. It was fresh, with an amazing crunch, and this gooey sweet and tangy sauce that I couldn't stop licking off my fingers. We then moved on to the beef bulgogi and kimchi fried rice. The beef was delicious. I could taste different layers of spices in it, and it paired so good with that fried rice. I honestly was enjoying myself so thoroughly that I forgot to take pictures of all of it; that's how good it was. I managed to squeak in one picture before I devoured all of it. GO. HERE. The sauce is amazing, especially when you have some leftover to put on plain rice. We also tried the japchae, and this place is the only one in Tucson that can make it right. There's so much I want to say to explain how good the food is here. You can tell that it's made with love & care. I've tried multiple dishes from here and they're all amazing but my favorite is the cheese dookbokki & beef bbq, it's so yummy and the quality is consistent. I also recommend the gimbab. Honestly just try everything. Besides the food the service is amazing, from what I know it's family owned so mostly everyone working there is related so you know they care about the quality of not just food but the service. The ambiance is nice too, it's not flashy like some place I've seen with better decor than food. This place has yet to be topped for me as my favorite restaurant in Tucson. They update to more modern trendy interior and even have a karaoke room now. The staff are always friendly and have even remembered our order from previous visits which says something (idk if it thats good or bad lol). Their Kimchi Balls as an appetizer are a must and theres plenty to go around, we split the three balls in half to share between 6 people. My go-to entrees are the Tofu Kimchi or Kimchi Jjigae. Popped in today on my way back to base. Cool little mom & pop place (wife cooks husband preps & serves) tucked into a small shopping center. Really good bonchon. So we went to Kimchi Time for a late lunch/early diner. Place was not busy when we got there and we were seated immediately. Waitress asked if we wanted water and brought us two glasses a couple of minutes later. We ordered Korean Street Tacos as an app but we were told they were out of those. So we ordered the Korean Chicken Wings. About five minutes later we went to order our entrees. My wife Kimchi Jigae and she was told they were out so she ordered the spicy beef and vegetable soup and some jeon; I ordered the sweet and spicy ribs. Our chicken wings came out and we're delicious. About 15 minutes after our entree order was taken another member of the staff came over and explained that they were actually out of ribs. So I asked for the menu and ended up ordering Dookbaegi. The food was great. Now here is the problem: we have been going to Kimchi Time since they were much smaller with white walls. The place was always hopping every time we went in, the staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was always fantastic and never out. Now it has expanded and it looks like the college hangout vibe is being pushed. The staff are courteous but I would not call them friendly and they certainly are not attentive. To be out of parts of the menu so early when you are not busy means there is a problem. At a minimum you should put a list up of what is unavailable instead of happy hour specials. It will be awhile before we go back, instead we will go to our other favorite place on Speedway for our Korean food itch. read more

I'm not exactly an expert on Korean food, but I know its enjoyment comes from tasty, cruciferous veggies with thinly-sliced and grilled meats, so I'll never turn it down. Kimchi Time seems to be the real deal, with its mouthwatering appetizers and its brief, but satisfying menu of bulgogis. What I loved: The banchan, or tiny dishes of assorted vegetables while you wait for your order. That cucumber salad was my fave! And while kimchi is most certainly an acquired taste, I couldn't stop pecking at it all evening because its flavor was rather unique to me. I think it's the only one I've had that didn't come from a jar. You also can't go wrong with the BBQ beef rolls, or giant spring rolls loaded with veggies and what appeared to be a little beef bulgogi in the middle. These would be fine by themselves, but the sauce makes them even better! What I liked: My entree of pork bulgogi was cooked perfectly, still sizzling on the plate over a bed of onions. It was not as good as the beef (nor did it look as good as the squid) but was not bad. I also recommend ordering iced tea, especially the unsweetened green tea. Prices are more than fair for the quality of food served, and service is kind and attentive. This would be a good Korean restaurant for anyone new to the cuisine. read more

So yes the food was EPIC. And we ordered half the menu because that's how we roll. ....But the only reason we have not been back is because you will have to wait an extremely long time and when I say long I mean close to 1hr to 1.5 to get your food. When I asked the server, about the wait time and if it's always like this; She did explain that this is normal because of the short staff. Once the food came, we were so satisfied that we almost forgot about the long wait. That's until our next meal, we decided we didn't want to wait that long for food.
