    Sushi

Sushi was very good, only complaint is they threw it all on one plate so I didn't know which roll was which. Yes, server named them when setting the plate down but so fast I didn't catch anything that was said. Interior was nothing great. No wait time, was busy but was able to get a table.

Always delicious and wonderful lunch specials! Our server, Vicky, was attentive and friendly all while handling multiple tables. It was a full house today, but everyone made the dining experience amazing!

Came in on a Sunday for lunch & was pleasantly surprised! The sushi melted in my mouth . . . Delicious! Service was a little slow, but friendly. It got quite busier as the 12:00 lunchtime hour came. The presentation of the meals were attractive, too! Luncheon prices are fair and the amount of food you get is a good amount. Will definitely return!

Very nice cozy little restaurant. Our server was fabulous and the owner came by to check on a several times. The lunch specials were definitely worth it. I liked that they brought out a little cucumbers, salad and miso soup before we had our sushi rolls. Certainly a place I'll come back to.

My husband and I have dined here twice and I'm definitely sad that we didn't come here sooner. The vibe is nice, calm, casual. The menu is extensive. Both times we've dined here we went with the bento box which comes with a lot of food. I did the salmon and shrimp and my husband did the steak and chicken. All delicious! We've also tried the California roll and the salmon roll. I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu! Service has been quick and efficient. It's a perfect place for date night and I know we will be back soon!

This has been my husband and I's go-to date spot for years and it just occurred to me I've never left a review! The food is consistently delicious. Sushi is one of my favorite foods- my husband not so much. He had only tried a California roll one time when we had met. I started him off safe with a Vegas roll and that has been his order for years now. 2 Vegas rolls and the teriyaki donburi- great size and value. He's even branched out and now likes some of the rolls with raw fish! The fish has always been fresh and delicious- I definitely notice a difference in quality. Any time Sushi Cortaro was closed and we had to substitute with another restaurant I was left disappointed in comparison. Service has always been quick, and friendly. There were some nights we cut it close to closing time (we always try not to, but sometimes it happens) and we never felt rushed or judged for coming in late on those occasions. This has been a regular date spot for us as boyfriend/girlfriend, as fiancés, as newlyweds, and most recently- our first meal at the hospital after giving birth to our daughter (9 whole months without sushi ). We splurged and basically got one of everything! Sushi Cortaro is still our favorite date night, it just looks a little different now as new parents- we mostly order take-out

Sushi was good. We chose take out/pick up and food was ready as indicated. The restaurant is nice inside and I feel the sushi is actually better when eating there vs take out/pick up.

    Shrimp and vegetables tempura

The food here is fresh abd the service is pretty attentive. The menu can be a bit confusing and inconsistent with listing ingredients. One menu lists the gyoza as beef and another lists it as pork. The haply hour menu is worth checking out.

The amount of sushi you get compared to cost makes it very affordable. The plating is amazing as you can see in the photos. We opted for the combos which come with several pieces of sushi and some come with sashimi as well and rolls. The cuts of sushi were large and fresh. There was wasabi and ginger if you enjoy those. The rolls were creative and delicious. Our favorite was Ni Bistro roll followed by the Emerald. The sushi"wich" was very creative and looked like a sandwich. The Ni Bistro was full of flavor and had a lot of pieces. Overall, we highly recommend this new find on the Northwest side!

I selected the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen, and my husband chose the Spicy Chicken Sandwich accompanied by waffle fries. Both dishes were exceptionally good; in fact, I would even go so far as to say it was the finest chicken sandwich I have ever tasted. I am still thinking about that chicken sandwich and eagerly anticipate my next visit. There was one individual attending to the counter, and I am unsure of the number of staff working in the kitchen. Nevertheless, the service was quite commendable. They offer a compact dining area indoors and a few tables on their patio. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment for both their Ramen and their outstanding fried chicken. I certainly plan to explore other items on their menu during my next visit.

I'm paying attention to…read moreseasoning, temperature, texture, balance, consistency, and all the small things that tell you whether somebody in that kitchen actually understands what they're doing. Ikkyu absolutely does. The first thing that stood out to me was the ramen. A good bowl of ramen isn't about throwing a bunch of toppings over noodles and calling it a day--the broth has to carry the entire bowl. This one had the kind of depth that tells you time and technique went into it. Rich and savory without becoming heavy, properly seasoned without tasting like somebody simply reached for more salt, and enough body to coat your palate and keep you going back for another spoonful. That balance is harder to achieve than people realize. The noodles, broth, toppings, and seasoning all worked together instead of fighting for attention. Nothing felt like it was there just for presentation. It tasted deliberate. There's a difference between food that follows a recipe and food that comes from years of repetition, adjustment, and understanding, and Ikkyu tastes like the latter. What I probably appreciate most is that the restaurant doesn't try to disguise itself as something it isn't. It's casual, comfortable, straightforward Japanese food. No unnecessary theatrics. No giant price tag attached to the atmosphere. The focus is where it should be: the food. Service was quick and friendly, the restaurant had that relaxed neighborhood feel, and there's something refreshing about finding a place that seems more interested in feeding people well than trying to impress them with everything surrounding the plate. From one kitchen person to another, I have a lot of respect for restaurants like this. Making something look complicated is easy. Taking something that appears simple and executing it consistently with depth, balance, and flavor is much harder. Ikkyu feels like one of those Tucson places you could easily drive past without realizing how much experience is sitting behind that counter. This is the kind of local restaurant I want to support. Five stars from me, and I'll absolutely be back.

The menu appetizers include gyoza, edamame, but they also serve Mexican torito--which is a chili pepper stuffed with cream cheese & shrimp then deep fried. I was really looking forward to it but unfortunately the ones I got served were still frozen inside. Unfortunate as the outside coating was perfectly fried and not too oily but I guess that's why it didn't really get cooked the whole way. Now, you'd think I would've left after the not-so-great apps, but def had to stay for the entrees. What's great about this place is really their donburi bowls, specifically, the unagi donburi bowl. Has just enough unagi, maybe a little too much rice but never the less, a really great sauce to tie it together. They've got a slew of fried sushi rolls but I've never really been a fan of those. They also have "teppan" meals which are dishes with your choice of protein served with rice on the side. They also do have nigiri and baked rolls as well. Inside the restaurant, I really liked the fake grass wall with their sign on it and the server was very nice. I would have given them a higher rating but the uncooked torito kinda did turn me off. Definitely would still go to this place and/or order delivery as long as it's the teri/sushi type dishes not the torito. Overall, Terisushi is one of the better Mexican sushi places in town.
