Sushi Hana is a delightful oasis in a city of subpar sushi. The sushi is fresh, and affordable. They have a very large menu. I have not visited them at the swap meet- but at another food truck function. I have tried a handful of other sushi places in town and they are my favorite by far. I moved here from Portland, Oregon where the sushi is all fantastic. Sushi Hana can definitely run with the big fish.

Wasn't busy at all so we were seated and able to order quite quickly. We ordered the caterpillar and especial rolls. Each came with miso soup. Their three TVs in close proximity kept us entertained while we waited. Our server was also attentive of us. Everything was delicious. I liked how they had the extra sides on the plates that I wouldn't see at other traditional sushi restaurants; scallions, jalapeños, and krab. The especial pieces were about 2.5 times the size of normal rolls as well. Definitely recommend this place.

The menu appetizers include gyoza, edamame, but they also serve Mexican torito--which is a chili pepper stuffed with cream cheese & shrimp then deep fried. I was really looking forward to it but unfortunately the ones I got served were still frozen inside. Unfortunate as the outside coating was perfectly fried and not too oily but I guess that's why it didn't really get cooked the whole way. Now, you'd think I would've left after the not-so-great apps, but def had to stay for the entrees. What's great about this place is really their donburi bowls, specifically, the unagi donburi bowl. Has just enough unagi, maybe a little too much rice but never the less, a really great sauce to tie it together. They've got a slew of fried sushi rolls but I've never really been a fan of those. They also have "teppan" meals which are dishes with your choice of protein served with rice on the side. They also do have nigiri and baked rolls as well. Inside the restaurant, I really liked the fake grass wall with their sign on it and the server was very nice. I would have given them a higher rating but the uncooked torito kinda did turn me off. Definitely would still go to this place and/or order delivery as long as it's the teri/sushi type dishes not the torito. Overall, Terisushi is one of the better Mexican sushi places in town.

At the corner of the street diagonal to a small park, and then next door to Street Taco & Beer. It's got an interesting decor, and not sure who it's catering to specifically, but identity crisis from a design perspective is fine since it's spacious inside and has two sections for seating. Price wise, it's on par for most of the things down in this area, as they're focus on curry rice plates and things, so the portions aren't bad here. There's a variety of protein options to go with your curry, with it mostly focused on the katsu style of fooding for those interested. They also have some ramen options there as well, as it's clear they are trying to do a little bit of everything. There are some random options regarding appetizers and such, but the generic stuff mostly. Staff here is pretty friendly so no issues there. Now, the food part. It was not bad, but there were a couple of things here that were certainly on my no-no list. Let's start with the Las Vegas Roll. It's a deep fried roll. Doesn't really have much fish in there (like a sliver), and the sauces on it were just mediocre at best. There was basically just no filling, and mostly rice. It's curry time. Got the seafood curry, but apparently they were out of clams that day so told me they would give me more shrimp and fried calamari to make up for it, and I said okay. Sort of regretted half of that decision. The curry itself was actually pretty tasty, but I feel like they don't actually know what Japanese curry quality it supposed to be like. It was like I was drinking a soup, and not clam chowder. The flavors of it though were actually quite good, but the actual texture of the curry was basically just liquid and did not feel at all like curry. The shrimp that came with the dish were alright, no issues with that. The fried calamari is there this dish ends for me. The calamari was off, and it was either just like that normally, or it was severely underfried as it was basically just a mushy mess that was not good. The final verdict? The curry was actually good, but man, they don't know how to actually make the curry texture correctly. Just a mediocre and watery mess. Price wise, it wasn't cheap for these two things, and for what I got quality wise, it wasn't worth it. Quantity wise, it was decent, but still not sure if that justifies the price tag. Just a mediocre experience overall. Staff was friendly at least. Not good, but not bad.

There are lots of options for ramen, curry, and appetizers, as well as some limited sushi options. I've tried the Half Sea Tonkatsu and the Dumpling Ramen, both of which are very good. I really like that for the Dumpling Ramen, you can select from veggie, chicken, or pork gyoza. The serving portions are solid, with lots of protein and noodles. The broth is rich, and there's chili oil on every table to make yours as spicy as you'd like. It's counter service with very few frills, so the ambiance is nothing special, but it's a good option for delicious ramen when you don't have a ton of time.

You order at the register and can choose to sit anywhere. Our food came out quickly. We ordered the Guilin dried style and the other bowl with broth. The noodle bowl includes rice noodles. meat-based spiced sauce, spicy pickled greens & bamboo, pickled long beans, roasted peanuts, and you can choose between 2 proteins. For my two proteins, I chose crispy pork belly and pork intestine. I wish they gave a little more because it was so good. I personally loved the dry one because the noodles soaked well with the sauce. The sauce was sooo gooodddd. The noodles were perfectly cooked - had a good soft bounce to it. The guilin with broth was also so good. The broth was perfectly cooked chicken broth. The pickled greens were a nice touch to balance the flavors. I wish this place was closer to me because I literally would go every week. This is one of the best noodle bowls I had in such a long time.
