Really good Sushi in Tucson. We liked the drinks and atmosphere. We ordered à la carte sushi and it was reasonable.

I came here with a group of 7. If it were just me, I would have likely walked out. After being sat it took 20 minutes for them to take our drink orders and then another 20 minutes for our food order. After placing the order it was another 20 or so minutes for the food. The sushi was decent and fair pricing. I ordered 3 rolls, but probably could have eaten 4. Like other reviewers have stated, apparently to go orders are better from this restaurant. read more

We got 3 high chairs and all 3 were very sticky and dirty. We left them out for her to clean and the waitress literally told us to put them back. I told her they needed to be cleaned before putting them back. She started making a scene and telling all the other customers around we were rude and got all the high chairs out and didn't put them back. I asked her to stop being rude and watch her attitude. She responded if you don't like it, you can leave. So we left. So disappointed, as we were regulars there and ate at that place at least once or twice a week. Our waitress even went out of her way to hand-make a chili for us when we asked for more spice (which was such a nice touch). That said, the food itself fell a little flat. The dishes I tried just lacked flavor and depth -- nothing particularly bad, just not very memorable. On the bright side, they do offer a ton of vegetarian and vegan options, which is great for plant-based diners. For some reason I never experienced very good service here so I take my food to go. The place is super casual and not as clean as some other sushi places in town, however sushi here is pretty good. Sachiko is our go to for sushi. Service can be hit or miss sometimes, but they are usually very busy and no one is slacking off. Carry out orders are reliable and I am always amazed that in this economy our bill is surprisingly reasonable! These days I feel like you get sticker shock when the bill comes out, but I've been pleasantly surprised that we can still get good sushi at a reasonable price point. read more

I have been wanting to stop by and try them out for a while now I'm glad my son decided to take us here for dinner. It's a very happening place. It was extremely busy, but the staffing was very nice and kind and prompt and letting us know that they'll be clearing a table for us promptly. A little bit of a wait but the food is well worth the wait times, when our food arrived all came out so fresh hot and delicious , full of flavor. We've given this place a couple of chances but the service every time we go gets worse, even on a slow day the service draaaags, it's like they forget they have customer. My personal favorites are the salmon kama and unagi--both consistently prepared to perfection. The restaurant is often full, so plan ahead for a little wait, whether dining in or picking up takeout, but it's always worth it. I also love the mom-and-pop feel, with pictures of their dishes displayed all around the restaurant, which adds to the charm. The service is slow and unfriendly. The spicy chicken I got to go did not have any spicy sauce on it and was tasteless. The last time i ate there the tempura included a batter covered banana which almost made me puke and the beef teriyaki was the worst thin, tough overcooked meat with a bad tasting sauce. I'm not one to usually write reviews, but this was the worst dining experience I've ever had. My family and I came in at 6pm with a reservation to which the staff was already confused about. We got seated and a waiter finally came to ask us drink orders after 20 minutes of silence. We ordered food another 20 minutes later, only after calling a waiter over to us. The food took another 40 minutes, and we didn't even receive all of it. Only after another hour of part of my party sitting without food did I get up to ask somebody about our missing food items, which they brought out quickly. Here's the kicker... all of the food was terrible. The ramen that I ordered was terrible, a solid 2/10, and the sushi that my party was waiting over an hour for, was mushy and gross. read more

This was my favorite place. I will never go here again. Because we've had the same issue multiple times. It was only two of us and we ordered one appetizer. Two rolls. And one sashimi plate. One roll was vegetarian and requires baking so I expect it make take a few minutes longer. Which is fine. However on multiple occasions everything else has been eaten and we're stuck waiting. And waiting. And waiting. Over twenty minutes today. Until we finally asked. And lo and behold they hadn't even started my tofu roll. Finally I gave up and canceled when I saw they were still gathering ingredients. It's tofu. It's a simple roll. It should take five minutes longer because it's baked. And yet? Multiple times it's eons later than literally everything else. So I'm stuck hungry and waiting while my husband has finished. And from a customer service perspective we didn't even get an apology when I noted it was a very long wait and nobody had communicated with us and I didn't want to wait any longer. You'd think the least they could do was apologize? Again, I don't expect everything to come out simultaneously but when we've ordered such a small order and nobody bothered to keep track of it? Multiple times? Unacceptable. I would be understanding if this was the first time. People forget. It was busy. But this is literally most of the times I've ordered this roll. So if you want a vegetarian roll go elsewhere. Not worth it to wait and lack of customer service for such a prolonged and unreasonable wait. read more

The sushi is average, there is nothing that stands out about it. The online order form wasn't working so I had to call. I always feel rushed when trying to order and they repeat back your order so fast that I miss half of it. This last time they charged me for an extra roll that I didn't order but apparently the person on the phone thought I did. They also don't give you an itemized receipt, they just tell you how much it is when you get there and take your card. It is usually ready quickly so that is a plus. They also keep increasing the price of everything by $1 every 6-12 months. read more

Went out with my mom and was treated horrible we sat around for 30 minutes waiting for our water to be refilled, the sushi didn't taste as fresh as it usually does and before we even left the lady that wasn't even helping us said,"oh ur not going to tip". My mom didn't even get up to leave yet but she still tipped them but I don't think they deserved that at all. They are lucky we are kind people because they were VERY rude. My mom has always gone here idk what has happened with their service but we are finding a new sushi place to go to. I am not a fish or sushi person. I have rarely eaten sushi, I can count the times on one hand. With that being said I had sushi today and liked it! I also had the chicken fried rice and omg. It was so flavorful and good I was debating about ordering it again to take more home. Now the sushi my boyfriend had multiple salmon rolls and he loved them. I had the California roll and this dynamite crab roll. I ate them all and enjoyed myself. Even the miso soup had good flavor. The service was so so. Nothing to write home about. The prices were good. Fantastic mom and pops sushi place. Never have they let me down for the past 15 years.

My family and I have been devoted patrons of Sachico Sushi since we moved to Tucson back in 2000. We always had a great experience with really good food. We even recommended them many times to friends. But we went there recently and things have changed. We would always order a Salmon Fiesta boat and we'd always receive complimentary miso soup. It didn't matter if we went during lunch or dinner, we always had miso soup. Recently, one of the servers that has been there for a very long time told us that there isn't complimentary soup and that there never was. If we wanted some, we'd have to buy it for $2.50 a cup. This was news to us. The server said something along the lines of no soup if you buy just sushi off the white order form. But then she said something about spending more money gets you soup...but we spent about $65 in sushi and drinks and still didn't receive complimentary soup. So, how much do you need to spend in order to receive that complimentary miso soup? What's the real reason this stopped? To say they never gave our complimentary soup is a lie. Unfortunately because of this recent experience, we may be looking for another sushi place that can afford to give their customers a small cup of miso soup before eating a lot of their sushi. read more

The SLOWEST, MOST DISMISSIVE, ABRUPT, UNCIVIL, PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE customer service in ALLLLLLLL of Tucson by the WAITRESSES. The Latina woman working here who takes and delivers your drink order is sweet as pie and busts her tail. Only to have some of the WAITRESSES here, be aggressive, rude and condescending to her. The Sushi is good but their portions have become smaller since the closing of their Valencia location. My family and I have made several trips here. Today, we went at 5 p.m and while this is considered "rush hour" there were PLENTY of open tables and nobody waiting. My family and I were seated for quite some time and we had 4 or 5 WAITRESSES pass by our table several times, be right next to our table, etc and none of these waitresses acknowledged us. We had our menus pushed to the side, looking around and obviously ready to order. When one of these waitresses was right next to our table, I said "Excuse me" and she did nothing but walk away. 2 or 3 minutes later another waitress was next to our table and this time, I said a bit more loudly "Excuse me" and this waitress kept on moving, none of these waitresses acknowledge us being there at any time. They could have, at some point, at least said "I'll be right with you" and this would have helped but my family and I got none of this. Upon my second time saying "Excuse me" while the waitress behaved as if she did not hear me, the closely placed tables seated near us, did hear me. The different tables all looked at me and I said "This happens EVERY time that we come here. Am I right?" they all smile, laugh and nod their head in agreement with many of the people saying "Yes!". The table right next to us said "You're right! We were JUST asking ourselves; "Why did we come here AGAIN?..".. After another couple of minutes we got up and left. I have other stories that I could share but this was todays. The good sushi is what keeps us coming back. SOMETIMES we get a pleasant waitress and my family and I cross our fingers that this will happen again. My guess is this is MANY other patrons hope as well, by the overwhelming agreement that I received from ALL of the patrons around us. OBVIOUSLY staffing is an issue here. So WHY not hire more staff while also being sure to hire KIND and attentive staff. There are PLENTY of people out here looking for a job. People with a service history who KNOW that there is GOOD and EASY money to be made when you are simply kind and attentive AND make eye contact like the lovely Latina who takes our drink order. Give her a shot. I'll bet her tips would look MUCH greater than what the current wait staff get because like many, we tip the wait staff depending on how well their service to us is. Please Sachiko, do better. If you think that you're doing okay now, I promise that you'd be doing SO much better if you cleaned house and placed some GOOD and attentive servers there. read more
