My mom is NOT a sushi fan but the reviews on chicken teriyaki made her happy, and when the dish arrived on a sizzling cast iron platter, her happy smile came out - even before trying the dish! It was delicious and came with miso to start and a side of rice. Dad and I got 2 bites of yellowtail sushi, rainbow roll, crunch roll and the kamikaze roll. Soooo good! Perfect fresh fish. The yellowtail was heavenly. Buttery soft and delicate. We loved every bite. Another review mentioned the sports/Japanese decor combo, and we actually enjoyed it while watching game 6 of the World Series. Judgment of the Ahi color when it first came out I was already skeptical. Honestly there's a lot better restaurants out there with fresher fish. The salmon was the only redeeming quality. Instead of giving more fish they give Sunomono (pickled cucumber) and Korean seaweed salad I only got one cup of water and tea. Wasn't asked for a refill. This restaurant is very clean and all of the waitresses were super friendly, smiling and helpful! The food was nice and fresh and presented beautifully. We arrived right at 4:30 (when they re-open for dinner service) and there was a steady stream of customers arriving and finishing as the comes out quickly. O Sushi is absolutely the best sushi in Tucson, Arizona, hands down. Additionally, it is some of the best sushi I have ever had anywhere, including in the San Francisco Bay Area and Japan. Just as important as the yummy food, the Team is super nice and make it a real pleasure to enjoy one's meal here, as well. They are attentive, kind, appreciative and treat their guests like Family. And finally, I would be remiss if I did not say how much I love the ambiance. The baseball theme and passion for the game is evident and heartfelt. This place is fantastic. It's my go-to sushi place in Tucson. We usually get the Santiago or the Diamondback roll (they're off-menu) or the Crazy Boy /Crazy Girl. The rolls are a really great value and I love that each piece is small enough to actually fit in your mouth. Those gigantic oversized roll pieces that you have to bite in half to eat and that come apart are the worst! Our group also ordered the ramen (off menu) and teriyaki bento box. Both got rave reviews. I've eaten here at least a dozen times in the last 2 years and every single time the quality has been great and the fish has been really fresh. I've never had an issue with their service. Waiters don't come to your table constantly but if you need them, they're usually available immediately or after a short wait. One of the waiters I've had was not super friendly but not once have I experienced what I'd call rudeness. Sometimes perceived rudeness is just a cultural difference or a response to customer behavior or even someone just having a really bad day like we all do! The décor of this place always makes me laugh because I'm not sure if it used to be a sports bar and the new owners just adopted the same aesthetic and add a couple of Asian items to the place or if the owners just love sports and decided to ignore conventional sushi resto décor but I can appreciate both those options lol What's important is that the place is clean and smells good. read more

I really didn't know what to expect from a sushi restaurant in a strip mall in Tucson of all places. I know fish basically gets frozen and shipped around and it's more about the chef and the temperatures it's all frozen at. Or at least that's what I've been led to believe. I'm really glad we gave this place a try. The fish was amazing, and the slices of fish in the nigiri were surprisingly large and definitely not overwhelmed by rice. The service was good and the staff was very friendly and very attentive. It's not a huge place, and is nicely decorated as well. I had to get a picture of the fish painting on the wall but there were a lot of little touches around the place that made it fun. The food was ready pretty quickly and all in all this was a great meal. I highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for sushi in the area. read more

Yelp has done it again! We wanted to try out a new sushi place and found O Sushi. The restaurant is so clean, nicely decorated with baseball memorabilia and so cool coming in from the heat! They have a wonderful variety on their menus! We order a variety of sushi to try, Golden Dragon Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Yummy Yummy roll, and veggie tempura roll! Oh my goodness everything was so fresh and delicious! The veggie tempura with that sweet potato was incredible! But the golden dragon roll was just as incredible! We were greeted, seated and left to flag someone down to place our orders. Felt like I was on a raft in the middle of the ocean. We ordered an array of menu items-shrimp fried rice, chicken teriyaki, crunchy roll, Vegas roll, baked salmon roll and the crazy boy roll. While waiting for our order, I took notice of the restaurant's decor. That's where the confusion began. The walls were covered with baseball memorabilia. I couldn't tell where I was; a sports bar, baseball museum or a restaurant. It definitely provided a level of entertainment. The food was ok. The sushi was just ok. Nothing to write home about, but I will say that the portion sizes were great and our food was prepared to order. I enjoyed my sushi order, but the shrimp fried rice left much to be desired. Really enjoyed dinner at O Sushi tonight. All of the rolls we ordered were fresh and a good size (not too small or too big). We had a Dragon Roll, Rock and Roll (I think), and a crab roll topped with Salmon. I also ordered the hamachi collar (not on the menu) and it was delicious! We also had the salmon skin salad. Not sure if I'd order again based on the large size. It was a shareable salad, but I wouldn't want it as a individual entree. Too much salmon skin and no other ingredients other than leafy greens. The iced green tea was also on point, not the cheap powdery or watered down stuff. I also like the Japanese decor and the service was prompt. I will definitely be back! read more

Sushi was good, not great, but lots of options to be had. We had pretty good service on the day of our visit, but my biggest complaint is that we have driven here twice while they should be open according to their posted business hours, only to find them closed. I would recommend calling before making the trip if you want to try them out to avoid disappointment. The interior is decorated with lots of baseball memorabilia which was cute, but TVs were blasting Fox News during dinner- not what I want to listen to while trying to enjoy my meal. Located at Speedway and Swan, the interior is old style design, bright, and man does someone love baseball (when you arrive you'll understand my reference. I got the golden roll, which is a CA roll with salmon on top. Delicious. Also got 8 pieces of salmon sashimi and one order of salmon nigiri. All was delicious. The waitress was very kind and helpful, and everything came out in a timely manner, not everything at once, like a lot of sushi places seem to do. Everything was pretty good we had edamame. It was a little al dente and maybe could've used the drop more salt, had the soft shell crab roll, Only five pieces . You really couldn't even see the crab a total rip off. I had the rainbow roll . Pretty good how about seven pieces. They also give you a complementary small bowl of miso soup, which was very nice but so salty for dessert they gave you blood pressure pills.
