    Chirashi Sushi Bowl
    Christina Z.

One of our go-to local sushi spots because the food is solid and the staff is kind. We've been here several times, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review - we always leave satisfied with our meals. Their chirashi bowls offer a variety of fresh sashimi pieces, and the tempura is lightly breaded and not overly greasy. If you get the tempura dinner, it also comes with rice, miso soup, and a side salad with a tasty ginger dressing. The rolls are standard, but our favorite is the baked scallop one which has a nice smokiness balanced with a creamy sauce.

Oyster in the half shell! So fresh and tasty. No condiments necessary, just fine oysters floating on ice.

Came on a Wednesday night and it was dead. The service and food were really quick! Sushi came so fast and it was delicious It's a little hole in the wall in this nice shopping center/plaza but definitely worth checking out!

Went for the first time to have some dinner and the environment is so pretty clean and nice when dinning in, service was outstanding Jarett was my server and he did commendable ! I really appreciated him upselling to me and recommending side options alongside my sushi. Above all the sushi was so good and I plan to be back! Thank you!

Yum. Sushi, sashimi, and tempura was great

I decided on sushi for lunch. Was in a different part of town so I Yelp'ed it. This place popped up with good reviews. I ordered the deluxe Bento box. The tempura was hot and crisp. The soup was great too. The sushi and sashimi was so fresh. This may be the best fish I've had in Tucson. The service was quick and responsive. Took my order quickly and food arrived quickly too. They dropped off my check before I was finished so I didn't have to flag them down later. When I am back in this part of town, I will definitely be back. You should try it too.

I was in the area and decided to drop by for some quick lunch here. It's a casual and clean restaurant and the staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was a little warm inside but it was tolerable. Our server was good and our food was prepared quickly. I thought the food tasted fresh and was really good. I really enjoyed the miso soup to start with. They have some unique specialty rolls and they also have toro which I found out is tuna fat and I am told it's really good. I will have to try that next time. One roll was a little too smoky for me but my husband loved it. My rolls were great and overall it was a good experience. Definitely a spot I would come to again.

First time here. Food was excellent. So many options, I'll be coming back to try a different dish. Restaurant was clean and inviting. Service was very good and wait staff were attentive and kind.

    heart attack
    Chris K.

We got there at open so was seated immediately. Service was attentive and pleasant, so high marks there. Ambiance is that of any high traffic sushi place as not much, but it was clean. Started with two appetizers. The tempura as done right and hit the spot. The heartattack was a really undercooked jalepeno hardly stuff with ingredients. It wasn't spicey, but all you could taste was raw pepper. The sushi was alright, the rice did not taste fresh like it was dried out, so I guess it may have not just been made but last nights batch. It was alright, and if you're in the area and need sushi then it's alright.

    Special salad- Omekase!!!!

The red miso definitely satisfied my spicy tastes if you are the type of person who can eat a bag of hot Cheetos without blinking you'll be fine but if you're sensitive to spice you might want to skip that option. On the menu they do have chili peppers next to the items to indicate the spice level. The portions are BIG and definitely worth it. It's not going to be the best you ever had in your life, and if you've been to Southern China, you're not going to be blown away. HOWEVER, it is the homemade taste that makes it good. It doesn't feel like any other restaurant, it feels like you are at somebody's house. Here's the thing, I came in expecting the usual Chinese food affair, but I left genuinely surprised and impressed. This restaurants specializes in Southern Chinese food, which is different from other regions. I am so happy this restaurant and its chains helps the cuisine gain exposure and adds depth to Chinese food in general. Even better, the menu is laid out in a way that it is easy to understand: gluten-free options, allergies, and spice level. The service was great. All though it isn't a "full" sit-down restaurant, everybody there seemed to know the menu well and was happy to be there. As a Cantonese person, it was nice hearing my language being spoken in the kitchen. The restaurant itself was immaculately clean and very modern. We came during early dinner time so the parking lot was near empty and easy to park. Overall, if you've never had Southern Chinese food or are looking for something more authentic than classic Chinese takeaway, definitely check out this location. I didn't see the restaurant itself yet, but after this experience, visiting is officially on the to-do. We started with the takoyaki balls, which were an absolute standout. I'm not an expert on how they're made, but I did notice pieces of octopus inside, and wow so good. The sauce on top is an explosion of flavor: rich, savory, slightly sweet, and totally addictive. I could eat these every time and never get bored. Next, we built our own Tachi burrito bowl and this is where Taichi really shines. The customization options are next-level. You can choose white rice, brown rice, no rice, and even a greens base. Then you get three proteins yes, three. Options include tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, spicy salmon, shrimp, tofu, crab meat, and chicken. From there, it's toppings galore: avocado, cucumbers, red onions, cherry tomatoes, jalapeños, mango, masago, seaweed salad, and crunchy add-ons like fried garlic or fried onions. The variety alone deserves applause. And then... the sauces. This is where you can really get creative. Spicy mayo, poke sauce, chili hot sauce, eel sauce, mango sauce, ponzu, Thai sweet chili, Thousand Island, wasabi the list goes on. We went with spicy tuna, salmon, and spicy salmon, and let me tell you fresh, flavorful, perfectly balanced. Every bite worked. I don't claim to be a poke or Thai food expert, but whatever choices we made... we absolutely made the right ones. Bottom line: even through delivery, Taichi delivered.
