Siete was absolutely amazing! Besides the superb service, the space is super cute and definitely a vibe. I love all types of food, and when I went for the vegetarian/vegan route, it did not disappoint! I honestly can't wait to come back and bring my husband here. We started off with the guacatini and siete. The guacatini is definitely more on the "thicker" side but the creaminess mix was such a hit. If you never had one before, you should definitely get one. The chicken quesadillas were amazing. Once you spread the guac mousse across the whole piece and take a bite, it just hits the spot. The arepitas were also amaaaazing. I love it so much. We went to Siete for opening weekend and the experience was good. While I enjoy their interpretation of Mexican cuisine I wasn't wowed by my visit. I like that there is variety for those who consume meat substitutes and also for those who eat strictly veggies. I will return to try some other items. They are expensive for Mexican food but use premium ingredients from the behind-the-scenes in Instagram posts. The service was exceptional which has been my experience with other restaurants managed by the chef and group. The vibe was a mix of casual and chic. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Sentir. Stephen was our server and he was amazing and attentive. Now onto the food. The oyster mushroom tacos had a nice smoky flavor. The grilled chicken tacos were my favorite, since being vegan usually faux chicken is chewy but this had a really good texture. We also tried the enchiladas and Burria tacos. The Birria tacos were a bit heavy but that's expected. We also got the arepitas and really enjoyed them too. We were too full for dessert, so we will be coming back to try the tres leches. read more

BLOWN AWAY. Vegan or not - come here. This was hands down *the best* vegan dining experience I have had in years if not ever. The food is beautifully plated, the service is prompt and accommodating and the restaurant has an inviting and upscale ambiance. My friend and I were so impressed we asked to speak to the chef to pay him the compliment directly. He was not in at the time but major kudos. I had the Birria tacos and tres leches cake and WOW. Packed with flavor and wonderfully balanced. Great addition to have in Flatiron! My comment for the suggestion box would be to make a menudo or pozole for the winter time as I am sure it would be absolutely delicious based on how amazing the birria tacos were. read more

I had dinner at Sentir last week on July 30 2025, and had a terrible experience. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, and they tasted very bad, akin to a lunchables pizza. I left a yelp review detailing that 3 days ago, and now the owners of Sentir are trying to get it removed by falsely claiming I did not visit Sentir. This tells me that the only reason this restaurant has good reviews is that they are targeting bad reviewers they receive to try to make up reasons to get them removed. read more

I've been to all of Guy Vaknin's NYC vegan restaurants (and love them!) but I'm sorry to say that I feel like Sentir is kind of a miss. We tried a variety of things and everything was somewhat bland and unimpressive. At least unimpressive for the price tag... The drinks are also ridiculously expensive ($20+ for a basic margarita on the rocks). Our server was very nice but just couldn't seem to get our orders right. Over and over. It was weird. Even the decor is bland and unimpressive. I get the spirit animal thing but it's just all blah.... All in all it was a very expensive dinner that was pretty regrettable. Extremely delicious vegan take on traditional Mexican cuisine. I ordered the horchata to start and was blown away with the creamy texture and cinnamon-y flavor. Next up were the cheese (mini) empanadas - these were flavor packed and cheesy as well - amazing. I topped it off with the "chicken" mole, which was layered full of tastiness. The chicken was well textured and went perfectly with the mole. Picture is absent of the rice, swapped out because I really wanted to try extra tortillas (which absolutely were on pointe!). Finally were the churros - whoa - these were crazy delicious. The chocolate sauce was out of this world and the carmel and condensed "milk" were so good I had to double check this was an all-vegan restaurant. Side note - the atmosphere is nice and inviting, and intimate, making it a good date-night or business meeting place. As another comment noted, the music playlist is well-picked. I've been wanting to try Sentir for a long time- every time I walk by, it looks like such an inviting dining room that draws you in. It looks like a restaurant that you hope has food as tasty as the atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing. Luckily, I can say that's definitely the case! Sentir is a 100% vegan Mexican restaurant. I'm not vegan myself, and oftentimes when I go to a vegan restaurant I find the food to be stuck in a culinary uncanny valley where you can tell that's something tastes off, but you can't quite put your finger on it. Sentir does not fall into this trap at all- everything I ate there was delicious! The guacamole was fresh and delicious. While I don't think guacamole needs to have any accoutrements to be good, Sentir had an awesome set of hot sauces served on the side that went really well with the guacamole and complemented the creaminess well. They also served the guacamole with some fried tofu skin that added a nice crunchy texture on the side. For an appetizer, I had the empanadas- they were amazing. I'm still thinking about how good they were, I would go back just for them. They had mushrooms as the filling, and the texture of the empanada pastry was beautifully flaky. The unique twist that I've never had before was that the empanadas were coated with a light, sweet/spicy/sour guava glaze that was not at all overwhelming but provided such a great flavor balance. It was one of the best empanadas I've ever eaten, vegan or otherwise. For my main course, I had the chile rellenos- it was fantastic. Extremely tasty, with layers of rich, complex flavors and textures. The sauce, the filling, and the chile itself were all cooked to perfection. For dessert, I had the tres leches cake. To be honest, I'm not a vegan dessert fan- I almost always avoid desserts at vegan restaurants. But the tres leches description looked so enticing, I had to try it. I can't stress enough how delicious it was- I have had a lot of tres leches cake in my life, and I'd say this was in the top 3 that I've ever had. They used a condensed oat milk which quite frankly was amazing- I did not miss the dairy at all, and I actually could not even tell that it was vegan. There was some sweet/tart mango puree used that provided a wonderful balance to the rich, creamy sweetness of the tres leches cake (it tasted like Alphonso mango puree from India, but even if it wasn't, it was fantastic). There was a slight hint of saffron as well, which added a great floral note to the dish. After finishing it, I wanted to immediately order another one- it was that good. (I exercised some self-control). Overall, I loved the food at Sentir. It's a bit pricey, but the quality and creativity of the food was spectacular. If you're vegan or vegetarian, this place is a must-try. Even if you're not, I'd encourage you to check it out- the flavors and preparation are top-notch. read more

We shared several appetizers - the elote asado, mini corn cobs, which were delicious (just wished I had a toothpick!), the tostada trio was fantastic - especially the beef and finally the mushrooms. I have always wanted to try birria and finally got my chance - they were amazing, so flavorful, I could have ordered a second plate! Where do I even begin? This is a fairly New Mexican vegan restaurant. My family and I came to eat here for Mothers Day. It did not disappoint. We had a lovely meal. We ordered a few things from the menu. We started with the guac and chicharrones. OMG, I have to say, one of the best guacamole's I've ever had and I always hated chicharrones as a kid, but these were so perfect, made from tofu skins. We also got the empanadas, filled with mushrooms and cheese and the best part was dipping them into this heavenly smoky guava jam. We got the salsa trio with the chips. Super delicious. We also had the chicken quesadillas, so good. Everything was nicely prepared and the presentation was beautiful. Food was excellent, I can't say enough. The desserts were absolutely delicious and beautiful. I'm so happy this place exists. It's one of my favorite places now. And I will surely be back soon, there is much more on the menu that I must try. Keep up the good work chef. My wife and I had dinner here a couple of weeks ago. I'll sum up our experience as we wish the owner would open a restaurant in San Diego. The high quality of the food was matched by the quality of the décor, which has not been the case with our previous experiences in vegan dining. Our server, Abby, who was an absolute gem, said that the owner wants his vegan restaurants to be great places to eat dinner, not just great places to eat vegan. We ordered the chicken enchilada, carne asada plate, and the lime Carlota. All three dishes were magnificent. This delightful restaurant serves elevated Mexican cuisine in a sleek yet warm environment that is enhanced by lively Latin music. Our waitress was extremely sweet and helpful when choosing our drinks, appetizers, main course and dessert! One of the staff members came over and fixed our slightly wobbly table before I even noticed a wobble. Creative selection of cocktails and great wine choices. For appetizers, we started with the Tostada Trio, Champinones Fritos and the Elote Asado. All were wonderful, with the Elote Asado being my favorite with its sweet and spicy flavor. Additionally, the tostadas were crisp, crunchy and bursting with flavor. As a main, I chose the Chicken Enchiladas served in a salsa verde sauce. The enchiladas had the proper amount of spice and balance of cheese. Would order again during a future visit. Although, the enchiladas were a sizeable portion, I decided to leave room for dessert and so glad I did. I shared the Mango Tres Leches and the Chocolate Chili Tart. Both were wonderful, the tres leches had a great texture without being too sweet. The chocolate tart presentation was so fun and unique. It was creamy and rich without being overpowering.
