Masa fries

Upscale Mexican restaurant with a nice date night vibe. They get busy so be sure to make a reservation. The restaurant has two levels and a bar. There is a mandatory free coat check. Food was ok. The gucamole was delicious as was the complimentary chips and salsa. Wasn't a fan of the masa fries nor the pina colada. I the had the duck carnitas. The duck is a bone in leg. The leg was soft and tender but I expected more flavor. It's a dish for two. It was just ok. It comes with tortillas and a side of rice with corn. The fresh corn was my favorite.

Came here with my coworkers for a holiday lunch, and the décor was on point--it definitely put us in the holiday spirit. The drinks were delicious and refreshing. Service, however, was slow considering the restaurant wasn't crowded. The real standout was the chips and salsa with guacamole. Easily some of the best guacamole I've ever had, and the salsa had a perfect kick--they should honestly bottle it. I filled up on chips and salsa, so I wasn't super hungry and went with the steak tacos. Unfortunately, they were pretty lackluster and came with a side salad with no substitutions allowed. My coworkers enjoyed their entrées, but for me? I'll just come back for the chips, salsa, and guac.

Been wanting to come here since I love Valerie next door. Similar vibes decor wise with a twist. A little smaller. Service was good. My friend had many allergies and they were good at accommodating. The stand out for me was the guac , chips and salsa ( it had like a smoked taste and the guac was fresh! I had the avocado toast. Good but for me personally a little too goopy. I would come back to sit at bar and have a drink with guac and chips.

Lolita has a great vibe and pretty nice drinks. Also has an extensive tequila menu. Upscale Mexican food with music and great atmosphere. As someone who struggles with Mexican food in the city, this unfortunately did not help the case. They had an amazing queso that was the best thing I had. Also ordered the birria tacos and battered fish tacos. The queso took the day. Service is pretty good but nothing special on the two tacos I tried.

Pretty tight ambiance when comparing it to the Boston location but friendly staff. Drinks and Food were just ok to my liking.

We came here on a Friday night after seeing a show. The hostess was friendly, and the atmosphere was chill. We were sat in the corner of the restaurant, with little ventilation so it did get a little hot. The food tasted good, but just like every other nyc restaurant, a little over priced. Overall, we enjoyed our time here.

Stopped in for lunch during a visit. Ambience 10/10 its beautiful, plush, vibrant. So cute. Drinks were good, food just okay. Chicken flautas 3/5 (no cheese, crema on side, due to friends dairy intolerance)- nice crunch, good amount of filling. Lacked flavor. Birria tacos 3.5 lacked flavor, I'm missing the boldness of the peppers/ spice. The consumne was just like a light generic beef broth. Cooked well and good amount of filling, they don't skimp on meat. Rice & beans - 2/5- rice or nice and fluffy + enjoyed the addition of corn. But overall lacked flavor. Brisket burrito -4.5 Drinks - like that they make syrups in house Lolita marg -5/5 don't let the carcao fool you its not the blue syrupy stuff You get in bars. Lolita salt rim is sooo good and brings it together and made it a five star rating. Paloma- 3/5 Ky/Kai provided great service. Very knowledgeable of the menu, helpful with suggestions and accommodating options that didn't include dairy. Recommend stopping for a happy hour if That's a thing. Food is not worth paying full price which is really tough to say because they service, ambiance/music made me want to love it so bad. Personally I'd only return for drinks and maybe chips/dip.

First & foremost, the bartender Chris was great & very patient with my one too many questions about the extensive drinks menu. I decided to try something new & opted for the pico de gallo vesper. I actually loved it despite it being quite different from my usual go-to's for drinks. It is definitely a slow slip though ie very strong. I also shared the pollo tinga tacos with my friend which were quite good. This place is pricey but it is gorgeous & is in a super touristy area as well. I'd 100% go back- maybe for their weekend brunch!

Came here during the week night. My friend suggested to meet at this place. It's an upscale trendy Mexican restaurant. Sat at the bar, got a couple cocktails, golden hue ($19) and spicy margarita ($19), very tasty. Started off with guacamole which was solid ($18). And for the main, got taco Al pastor ($22), which came in 3. Pretty pricey but it's NYC so yea.. still tasty. I would recommend this place for a nice date spot.

Came for a late dinner around 8:30pm on a Saturday night. Place was fairly busy. I made a reservation ahead of time and they were pretty quick to get us in. I liked the decor and style of the place. To drink I got the Lolita margarita. It was a very good margarita. Good ratio and taste. I definitely would've ordered another but planned on going to another bar afterwards. To start we got the guacamole and salsa. Guac was pretty good, salsa had a smoke flavor to it. For my meal I got the birria tacos. I was a bit underwhelmed. There was a lot of cheese and the tortilla was very thick. The cheese and tortilla over powered the flavor of the meat and for whatever reason it was very heavy where I wound up just eating the meat. The beef was nice and tender but could've used a bit more flavor. I also ordered a side of the rice and beans. I was disappointed. Neither had flavor and a bowl of flavorless rice and beans should not cost $12. The person I was with enjoyed her meal. She got the carne asada and it was cooked to her liking. Took a little while for the server to come at the beginning. I wouldn't mind coming back here, I think you just have to know what to order.

Decent dinner here. Took my mom with me. First time eating here. Space is nice and lots of seating available. Menu was small but had a little of everything. Little over priced imo. Drink was average. Staff could improve with being nicer. I called the server over to ask a question and they seemed very annoyed - although the restaurant was empty at 4PM. Overall decent meal - but I'd go elsewhere where next time for a more welcoming environment

My sister and I sat upstairs at the bar -- we were there for a quick happy hour and bites before a 7pm show. This is owned by the same folks who own Valerie (next door) and Madame George (two doors down). The layout/vibe is the same and if you like the cocktails in one, you'll like the cocktails in all :) The cocktails were SO interesting, i really couldn't decide which one to get but ended up deciding on "Las Mineras" - it was like a smoky (from the mezcal) salty corn water. Amazing. It had: mal bien white tape mezcal, fino sherry, elote liqueur, clarified enchilada water Then we shared chips and guac, ahi tuna tostadas, and the suadero (brisket) tacos. Everything was fantastic. Service was great. Beautiful decor!

Lolita is a visually stunning establishment with attentive service but mediocre food. I came here last night to catch up with my friend over dinner. The decor, high tables, and dim lighting are such a vibe. The server was kind, kept checking in and did not rush us. The menu had vast options but I was not impressed with the food unfortunately. The Guacamole lacked enough lime, salt, and cilantro. It really tasted like pureed avocado. For the entree we ordered the Pork Carnitas for two. The side of rice and beans were not enough for two people but tasty. Half of the pork provided was dried out, overcooked and too tough to cut or chew. I ordered Tres Leches for dessert. I personally like my Tres Leches on the moister side. Theirs felt as if it wasn't soaked long enough. They also added what tasted like coconut shreds to the icing and served it with a fork; which doesn't allow the customer to also consume the milk portion of the dessert. My friend ordered the Churros for dessert. It had a nice sugar coating, crunch, and accompanying dipping sauces. I ordered the Devil's Trade for my cocktail. It was unique with a spicy kick to it and probably my favorite thing of the night. I don't know if I just ordered the wrong things to try from the menu but I don't see myself coming back here.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way.
