For the price the food was just meh. The beef was not high quality and you can tell. The meats were also salty. Service was fine and it was pretty busy during brunch time. Wish the food was better.

Sinigual has a lively, modern Mexican restaurant vibe with a spacious dining room that feels energetic but still comfortable. It's a bit more polished than a casual taco spot--think warm lighting, upbeat music, and a social atmosphere that works well for groups, date nights, or after-work dinners. Being just a few blocks from Grand Central, it gets a steady Midtown crowd, so it can feel busy in a good, "buzzing restaurant" way.

Food: Water: 10/10; tastes like bottled. Cold and refreshing--some of the best complimentary water I've ever had. Or was I just dehydrated? lol Blackberry mojito mocktail: 10/10; chef's kiss! So much flavor and reasonably priced ($6). I wanted another one, but my stomach was bursting at the seams. Strawberry mojito mocktail: 9/10; delicious! Ribs: 6/10; Tender, but overall just okay--they lacked seasoning. Chicken taquitos: 7/10; Nicely crispy, but could've used more flavor. Skirt steak nachos: 8/10; Good flavor and satisfying. Cheese quesadillas: 8/10; Soft and cheesy Service:9/10: Professional, attentive, and top-notch. Ambience: 10/10; Beautiful!

Strawberry margarita - A close-up of a strawberry margarita in a glass filled with ice, topped with a lime wedge and a piece of strawberry as garnish. The drink appears cold and refreshing, with condensation on the glass. The background shows a person with clasped hands and small bowls, indicating a dining setting.

We came here on a Saturday evening and it was packed. Luckily, we had a reservation, so they seated us right away, but it took a while for us to be served. Our waiter didn't come by the table to take drink orders etc until several minutes after we had been seated. I had a strawberry margarita, and we shared the appetizer sampler platter, steak fajitas, a side of rice and beans, as well as the complimentary fresh tortillas. The margarita, through the straw, was farrrrrr too sweet. Like sickeningly sweet. It had an odd artificial flavor that I couldn't quite place. I thought I wasn't going to like it. However, with the salt from the rim, it actually was pretty good. Normally I order a sugar rim, but I forgot to this time, and I was glad I did. The app sampler was great, with the perfect shareable portions of each thing. The taquitos were some of the best I've eaten, and the nachos were prepared so perfectly with a little bit of everything in each bite. Great value for the price, especially in the city. I'd highly recommend ordering this. We loved the fresh tortillas. So soft and warm. And the salsa that came with them was super fresh and flavorful. 5 days later and I am still thinking about both. The fajitas were tasty, but not cooked how we asked. I ordered medium, they definitely came out more on the medium-well side of things. Still, very juicy, and had that seasoned outer crust you want on a steak. Our waiter was less than attentive once the food had all been served. He didn't come by to check drinks and it took a while to get the check. Still, I'd definitely come back for the food.

Stopped by Sinigual for a contemporary Mexican lunch and it did not disappoint. The highlight was easily the Tableside Grilled Chicken Fajita Salad--fresh, flavorful, and a total must-try. I also paired the Chicken Taquitos with a Grilled Fish Taco, and the combo was a home run. Beyond the food, I loved the atmosphere. The restaurant is open and airy with ample seating, and the staff was wonderful and welcoming from the moment I walked in. We ended the meal on a high note with the Crepas De Cajeta, which were perfectly creamy and sweet. If you're looking for a solid meal to fuel up for a long NYC walk, this is the spot. Great service and even better food!

An excellent spot for happy hour! Great drinks, great apps and even better vibe! Met friends after work on a Tuesday and boy was it packed!! Can't wait to return!

TWO ITEM COMBO - The image shows a plate of Mexican cuisine featuring a tamale wrapped in a corn husk, rice, refried beans topped with cheese, and a fried chicken drumstick garnished with corn salsa. The plate is set on a dark table with a glass of water and a drink in the background. The presentation includes traditional ingredients and typical Mexican dishes.

Went here with a big group and the staff was friendly and accommodating! We had a great time. The cocktails are delicious, the table side guacamole was also! The main dishes were good overall, the combo plates are nice (skip the salad, a bit bland). The space is very nice, modern and clean.

Potatos bravos - The image shows a serving of potatoes bravos, cut into chunks and cooked with herbs, topped with grated cheese and garnished with fresh herbs. The dish is presented in a black rectangular tray. In the background, there is a glass of a cold beverage and a plate with bread and possibly cured meat, indicating a dining setting at a restaurant.

Stopped by for Happy Hour on a Tuesday (Taco Tuesday specials!) and sat at the bar. The places was packed so I had to make my own space, if you are in a group you might be waiting. I ordered a Modelo Especial as my drink and to eat I ordered carnitas taco and potato bravos, which isn't Mexican but Spanish so an interesting menu addition. The carnitas was juicy but could use a little more spices. I liked that it had a little pico de gio, could have used a little crunch but was tasty. Also, where is the corn tortillas?!? The Flour is a choice that I wouldn't expect from a Mexican spot.

A white plate contains grilled chicken topped with a sauce and corn relish, accompanied by roasted zucchini, yellow squash, and a red pepper. The dish is served at Sinigual, an upscale Mexican restaurant in Manhattan, with small bowls of sauces and drinks visible in the background.

Sinigual is definitely more westernized Mexican food for a lack of better terms but it is still quite tasty. First & foremost, the restaurant itself is very spacious & pretty. Second, the waiter was quite attentive despite having some bigger groups to attend to. Third, the food was pretty tasty. We ordered the shrimp diabla & grilled chicken. Both dishes were good but I would say that the shrimp diabla definitely stood out. I also really liked the cilantro-pasilla rice that came with it as well. All in all, I'd go back.

I've been to Sinigual a couple of times before--honestly, the food is just ok, nothing to rave about. MEH. The drinks are decent. Since it's Cinco de Mayo, the place was packed. I felt bad for the bartender; she was clearly overwhelmed, and it took about 15 minutes just to get her attention. It was only her at the bar BTW. My friend had made a reservation in advance, so I was at the bar having a drink while waiting for them to arrive. Once we were seated, we asked our server about the Cinco de Mayo all-day happy hour promotion we saw on their website. He told us it didn't apply to dine in guests, only at the bar. I pulled up the site and showed him where it clearly says: "Available in the bar, patio, & for dine-in only." He went to get the manager. The manager came over and told us the HH was "only at the bar." I pointed out... AGAIN that their website explicitly mentions bar, patio, and dine in. I also mentioned that we planned to order food. (I was so hungry!) He said he'd honor the HH but only for one round. Seriously? We were ready to walk out, but then he offered us a table in the bar area and said we could order HH drinks from there. He repeated that the HH all day promo "It's for dine in ONLY," and once again, I reminded him--we were dining in and will be ordering food. This was ridiculous. The whole interaction left a bad taste in my mouth. The server in the bar area was friendly. Our bill came out to $278, including the food we ordered. If you're going to promote something, word it probably. Misleading advertising like that is frustrating and deceptive.

Supremas Del Fuego
Sophia H.

Unfortunately, I didn't like this spot. The Supremas Del Fuego (which has steak, chicken, shrimp, veggies, and tortillas) was bland and overcooked. The chicken was dry and didn't have any flavor. The shrimp isn't fresh and also doesn't have any flavor. The steak was the best on the plate, more flavorful, but it was still a bit dry and overcooked. The veggies were soggy and a small portion. Tortillas were good. I just don't think it's worth $34 for bland, overcooked food. My friend got the Salmon in Lemon Butter Sauce, which was pretty good. It was flavorful and decently juicy. The service was good, our waiter was very nice and quick. The restaurant is big and has a large amount of seating. Overall, the food is just not good and overpriced, so I wouldn't come back.

Amazing great Mexican restaurant in NYC! The service was great, good atmosphere and the food was delicious! They make their own chips and salsa. The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. I loved the salsa and she gave me a container full of it to take it home with me. The filet mignon enchiladas were awesome! The fajitas were tasty and their homemade tortillas were really good. We also ordered guacamole table side and that was very good and fresh. It was my daughter's birthday and they gave me a choice of dessert to bring her. I ordered the fried ice cream team which they brought and sang happy birthday to her! The fried ice cream was delicious. Will definitely be back!

Margarita - A bar setting features a cocktail with a lemon wedge and a straw, a glass of water with ice, and a small bowl, all placed on a table with a glowing, patterned surface. In the background, string lights are visible outside a window, along with a cityscape and modern buildings. The scene suggests an evening or nighttime ambiance in an urban bar.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.
