Outdoor dining at the church which was a plus, we had drinks and fries (too salty) while we waited under the tent for a seat, and then we're seated after about 45min wait. Interestly the church bells tolled at irregular intervals, we wondered why at :55 and :09 they went off. Timer issue? Bartender was great, super friendly service there. Small wine and beer list which was simple, good for an easy decision. The burrata was excellent as a starter but could have used some toast points or similar. The hangar steak was tough and lacked much flavor; the sauce was just so-so for me. The single scallion could've been better as a single asparagus or similar. The bean burger was a hit with my fellow diners though. Meatballs as an appetizer at the next door table looked and smelled awesome though. Will try another time. One downside was dirty drinking glasses; two had lipstick stains on them (as three guys, not us). Quick to replace but might want to get on that washing, and for some reason the guy clearing tables tried to clear our dishes early twice during the meal. Check was quick and efficient. Overall a nice epic view of the church and nice spot to grab a beer and small bite. Next time more appetizers. read more

We had dinner in the main indoor dining room before a Christmas concert at St. Barts. The restaurant wasn't full (just before a concert with over 500 people attending) which seemed very odd. Now we know why - the food was very mediocre and far too expensive, and the service was friendly but inefficient and slap dash. Upon arriving we told the wait staff that we were attending the concert next door and had to leave in plenty of time to get over there. Instead, they seemed to forget about us and we wound up repeatedly asking for our bill and as a result, almost missed the beginning of the concert. With better food and a well-trained staff, this restaurant could be a real winner. Now, it's a "must miss." read more

Hanging out with some really cool friends and met up at Inside the Park. The food was okay. We had the Seafood Amarillo, it was a cold soup seafood medley with Calamari, Rock shrimps, Scallops, and ajo amarillo and potato croquettes (a side of breaded potatoes) and it complimented the soup well. This location is fantastic. Eating right outside St Bart's with a very open feel is quite pleasant, but it does feel like eating inside a tent. I had a nice salad with chicken. It wasn't anything special, but I didn't really order anything special. They didn't offer the healthiest menu - added sugar in everything for those who are looking out for that. Stepped in for drinks the other week. Venue is great - love the outdoor or enclosed space. It's a good vibe even if it gets rather loud given its popularity. The downside is the drink menu is nothing special and the food menu is weirdly limited for a place designed for happy hours; no handheld appetizers, nothing easily split. Meh! Thought this place had a lot of potential with the location and when I first walked into the outdoor area which is beautiful, but it was a big "miss" in a lot of other areas. I guess the biggest disappointment for me was that just about every criticism that others here have pointed out in the past haven't been addressed by management/ownership which just tells me someone doesn't really care all that much about improving things here. We went to Inside Park at the height of the holiday season and the place was half empty which for NYC, is usually a telltale sign that there's an issue. With regard to service, our waiter quite literally disappeared during our entire meal and this wasn't because the restaurant was so crowded that he was busy (only 5-6 tables seated). We had to literally get out of our seats to order more drinks and ask for bread. We walked up to the bar where the waiter was hanging out and chatting it up with the bartender to ask for more water. Then when the waiter took our order, I inquire about the soup. Waiter says "no soup today"...what restaurant in the middle of winter in NYC doesn't have soup? Then then waiter suggest another dish which is kinda like a bean soup and I say "I'll take that". Waiter then says "sorry, not available today!" Weird. We then ask our waiter for some bread and he looks at us like no one has ever asked for bread before. Then just as we're about to finish our meal the bread arrives and its 3 very tiny pieces of toast. Weird. Then the check arrives and I see on the bill a $3 charge for the bread. We call the manager over (waiter again not found!) and ask about the bread charge. He tells us sorry, but bread not really part of the meal but he will take it off the bill. Felt like I was in the 1980's where there were restaurants who thought it was a good idea to charge for water and bread. The food was actually pretty good, so there was that, but just about every other aspect was a bit off. Just so easily fixed. read more

I can't tell you how many times I've walked past this place when making my way from 57th street down to grand central. I took a mental note to drop by one day and today it finally happened. It's a great spot for after work drinks & an app. I'm not entirely sure what the indoor dining space looks like since we sat outdoors, but I couldn't imagine anyone passing up sitting on the terrace when the weather is nice. I like the Social Hour/Happy Hour options. Unfortunately the meatballs & artichokes were sold out when I arrived for my 3:45 reservation. Thought that was very odd since there's only 4 food options for social hour... In any case we shared the grilled octopus, which was phenomenal. My friend ordered it again for an entree. Unfortunately, I went for the Oricchette. It disappointingly bland. The sauce had no flavor. Tried adding fresh pepper -- didn't do much. If my Riesling wasn't so good i would have given this 3 stars. But I'm willing to come back to try other things before coming to that. read more

I've visited this place many times prior to this review (long overdue). Most recent visit was for a work lunch which did not disappoint. Our party of 7 was promptly seated and greeted by our server; very polite. Food and drinks were spot on. I went for the lobster with shrimp roll - amazing. Every item arrived timely to our table and we left room for dessert; which was delicious - must try the guava cheesecake. I am seriously surprised this place has such low rating on Yelp - definitely way underrated! We came in on a Tuesday night at 6 p.m. and the place was packed, mostly with business professionals, so better make a reservation. The restaurant shares space with an active church (St. Bart's), how cool is that?:) the vibe is amazing. We had Tuna Tacos for appetizer, I had Crab cakes (one of the best ones I've ever had) and my fiancé got pasta with shrimp and lobster - that was a favorite of the night. The pasta was so good I kept stealing from his plate ha ha :) We ended the night with Guava cheesecake, definitely a must try! And I don't even like cheesecake! It's a beautiful oasis in the concrete jungle located in the courtyard of the St. Bart church with better than average comfort food & drinks. The lunch time can be quite crowded with business professionals in Midtown but if you show up at 12:00 Noon sharp, you can be seated right away. Reservations recommended, regardless. Inside Park has a coveted Park Ave location, with outdoor dining above street level, and boasts a namesake with storied St. Bart. Tried if for lunch recently and was really underwhelmed by the food. The Burrata salad was just barely ok; their house chicken salad was below average and the roast chicken was drenched in oily juices. Perhaps other items were better, these are basic dishes that restaurants should perfect. How hard is it to procure decent cheese and put it on a plate? That's basically the art of making a burrata salad. How can you get lettuce and chicken wrong? Anyway - they need to step their game up! read more

I came by for lunch with some coworkers rsvp doesn't seem to be needed but am sure it helps specially during the busy lunch hours & on a nice day when everyone seems to be outside. We were seated outside under a nice umbrella drinks we all stuck to water. Food I had the Buttermilk chicken sandwich with a salad, nicely breaded piece of chicken this was good great taste to the chicken. Salad was good as well nice tasting dressing. Other dishes the Kale salad was good, seems a bit small but my coworker enjoyed it. Another good salad was the Cob salad nicer looking salad with enough avocado, bacon & blue cheese not bad. Nice looking area outside perfect on a nice day to have lunch outside as long as the wait it not crazy long. Service was good, prices are decent normal to the area we had a good lunch. read more

I came here for drinks after work with a friend and we both really enjoyed this outdoor bar. They had lots of seating so you could choose whether you wanted to sit at a table for food service or sit/stand near the bar. We got really tasty frose's for $10 and ordered some fries as a snack as well. We loved the atmosphere of young professionals and enjoyed the dj's music which started later in the evening. Just one week before we were due to dine there, I received a voicemail message saying they had a "buyout" and would not honor my reservation. Went there after 7, was seated in a timely matter towards the back by the terrace and bushes. First thought it's dark. Had to pull out my phone flashlight to read the menu, no biggie. I could see how this place does well in the summer months, when professionals need a drink after a long day at the office and it's nice enough to sit outside and enjoy the outdoor bar area. I get it. I do. But for lunch? Eh, it was just okay. We opted to sit inside since it looked like it was about to pour. The service was a bit slow but they kept our glasses filled with water. I went with the turkey burger that comes on an English muffin, opting for a side salad rather than fries. Our food finally came out and the top of my English muffin was missing. I ended up being fine with this since I cut it anyway but how do you leave that out? Also both mine and my colleague's salads were without dressing. We had to ask for it on the side and the waitress seemed shocked that none was already there. The inside is very pretty with the vaulted ceilings. I went here last night with three of my colleagues and we left really disappointed. The atmosphere is weird - stuffy and quiet but they have the patio which is very fratty. The waiters were very off putting as well; it felt as if they were trying to fight over our table and get our tips but when we put in our order we were asked to put down a card and open a tab? We ordered drinks at a seated booth so maybe it was because we were just drinking but I got the impression that they were not too keen on four 20-something year olds ordering fancy wine without some insurance. When we were ordering drinks, they did not give us a beer menu and when asked what beer my colleague wanted to order the waitress said "sorry we don't have that" and then didn't tell him which beers they did have? Very unprofessional for an upscale location like this. The happy hour is decent - $5 beer $7 well and some wine. We got 2 glasses of $15 wine and four beers and the total came out to $60 which is not bad. I will say, however, that my $15 glass of wine came in a DIRTY WINE GLASS and I had to request a clean one. I was not pleased. All in all, I would not return to this place for drinks. I would consider giving the patio a shot during happy hour but not the inside dining area (the patio was not an option when I went as it was closed). read more

This is where Jesus goes to party after a long week of smiting unbelievers and sitting in really long prayer meetings. There's nothing I like more in a church than the ability to have some tasty drinks and a cheese plate while I contemplate the state of my soul. (That contemplation usually leads to more drinks) Inside Park @ St Bart's lets me do exactly that - there is a restaurant in the old church community building but what you really want is the terrace on a warm sunny afternoon. You can certainly have a meal but the Mister and I were here for a snack and a refreshment. The space itself is really inviting - there are some small couch/lounge areas as well as a full bar plus tables for dining. There's music (sometimes live) and once you're here you really don't feel like you're smack in the center of Midtown anymore. The wine list is pretty "meh" but the cocktails ($14) are great. I had a Josephine which was blackberries, St Germaine and champagne - strong, pretty and delicious - just like me. We also had a cheese tray which was fairly small but good quality. The crowd seems to be a lot of UES finance-bros and their Ann Taylor Loft clad companions so don't show up in shorts, a tweety bird tshirt and a fanny pack. Service was efficient but not particularly friendly. I understand as the typical order went a lot like this: "She'll have a Pomegranitini and I'll have a Bullit Rye with 2 ice cubes" (because the horrors of watering down a middling-quality whiskey are real, my friends). St Bart's does a lot of community outreach, including a food bank located on the other side of the church. I hope the overpriced drinks I consumed help them keep on with their mission of serving needy NY'ers and getting chatches lit up during happy hour. read more
