Great margs and service!! My boyfriend and I come here for happy hour during the week and on Saturdays because of the great margs and lovely service! Plus the salsa and chips are awesome! We always sit at the same spot in the bar, it's our spot Everyone knows us there and is so friendly! The manager Mario is sooo nice and so friendly! He always makes time to come and chat with us for a few. Leo, the bartender is awesome! He's very quick and welcoming. Their happy hour goes until 7pm and their margs are so good!! The have frozen mango, frozen strawberry and lime on the rocks. Ask for the swirl which is mango and strawberry, it looks so cool and tastes so good!! Ask for Norma as your server if you're not eating at the bar, she's so sweet and is great at her job! The food is good too. Their tortillas they make in house are to DIE FOR. So fresh and sooo good! My boyfriend and I will continue to come here as the service is excellent, the chips and salsa are great, the margs are awesome and the food is great! I judge a Mexican place on their chips and salsa, if they can make good chips and salsa then you know their food is good!! And this place has awesome chips and salsa!! My boyfriend and I have been coming here since they opened and will continue to come here often! read more

The chips and salsa were delicious. The queso was good--the norm. I had the Molcajetes Mexicanos and it was amazing! By far was one of the best Mexican dishes I've had. Service was a little sow, but that's because the bartender was assigned our table. Margaritas were 2 for $5 on HH! read more

We've been visiting Senor Tequila's for over a year and have good experiences pretty much every time. Sometimes the service is very quick and the food comes right out, sometimes it does take a little bit depending on how busy they are. The staff is always friendly. The frozen margs are always delicious and my personal favorite here is the birria tacos or birria quesadillas. I've ordered all of the burritos and the garden quesadillas as well and would also recommend those dishes. read more

Excellent food each and every time we dine here. Drinks are good too but the margarita is a pre mix. No fresh fruits in drinks. Service has always been good and quick turn time from order to serving. Great place to eat in Ashburn! read more

They are going to have to figure out their service issues. With it being next to a theater, you would think they would understand that fact. Food was okay, about the same as other nearby Mexican places in NOVA. read more

My husband and I have given this restaurant several tries thinking the service would get better. Upon arrival, we are always greeted right away and then seated. But then there is always this time period that nobody comes to talk to us, get our drinks or even bring us our chips. So we normally wait...then we have to ask if we have a server. We are hopeful this matter will be resolved soon as it seems there is a lack in communication. read more

I thought this place was terrible. I hate saying that...the location is ideal, the decor was fun, colorful and festive but the waitress was not attentive, getting our order wrong and never coming to the table to check on us when we asked about missing items we ordered. However, the manager tried to rectify the situation, but only offered a dessert. We had 4 of us there, the music was so loud on a Sunday morning 11:00-ish, we couldn't hear ourselves talk. It was loud Mexican music, which is fun at happy hour time. 3 of us tried my dish, carne asada - the meat tasted like it went bad. Two of us had to spit it out. The manager did say he would let the chefs know and have them taste it. The chips were stale and the salsa tasted like tomatoes out of a can. My hopes were so high, however I'm afraid to give it another try. I'll wait till they get the kinks out. read more

Awesome happy hour. Great hang out spot. Food is amazing. Served very hot, lots of food, and nice presentation. Will definitely return!

Excellent food. Excellent service. I always keep in mind that when a place is newly opened you have to let them work out a few kinks but I didn't encounter anything that would even be worthy of fixing or changing. The server was very attentive and checked in on our group often. Absolutely cannot wait to come back. Took a while to open but finally! And well worth the wait. read more

Just stopped in after watching a movie at starplex. First time in the restaurant and my wife and I decided to order a cheese dip to go. Opened the cheese dip once we got home and found what looked like a pubic hair. Completely unacceptable, I'm hoping it wasn't a pubic hair and it may have been a facial hair however regardless it's utterly disgusting. I called management to mention the issue. They are refunding my money, but I made sure to mention that wearing hair nets is number 1 to prevent mishaps like this. I will not step foot in this place again and plan to recommend the same to my friends read more

The food was bland and it tasted like it was previously frozen. The service was awful because the waiter was taking long with the orders and he wasn't paying attention to the table that much. We even had to go and look for him. . The only thing we liked was the decoration. My husband and dad ordered beer and it was flat. I don't recommend this place at all. read more

I don't write a lot of reviews and admit that I am one of "those" people who normally only writes a review when I am unhappy. I do this because the places that make me unhappy leave a lasting impression much more often the places that perform at or above expectations. In this case, Señor Tequila's left a lasting bad impression which I feel deserves to be expressed. To begin, we stopped in to order drinks and an appetizer and wanted our main course to go. We let the server know this when we placed our order. It took roughly 20 minutes to get our appetizer, and with it, our server brought out our bagged up main courses, which got to sit on the table while we ate our appetizer and drank our drinks. I could have complained at this point but refrained from doing so because my wife and I were having a good time. In regards to the appetizer, the wrong one was delivered and, when it was noticed, the server took it away and delivered it to the correct table. We hadn't touched it but it had sat at our table for a short period of time and therefore should have been thrown out and remade for the other table. We didn't do anything to it but we could have. As for the server, she was very inattentive and did nothing more than take our order and deliver our food. She did not check up on us or seem to even care we were there. In regards to our food, the chips provided at the table are way too thick and taste like something you'd get from a bag at the grocery store; they are nothing like we get at other Mexican/Tex-Mex places such as Parrando's. We were happy with our appetizer, the Ceviche Vallarta, which was actually pretty good. Unfortunately, this was offset by our main courses. We didn't check the main courses until we got home so we didn't notice anything was wrong until we got ready to eat. My wife ordered the Tequila Taco Salad which was served with all the salad fixings (what few there were; I'd estimate less than half a cup total) on the bottom so they were all soggy and the few lettuce shreds were wilted and virtually inedible; they also forgot to include the dressing. I don't remember the name of the item I ordered but I didn't receive it instead, I ended up with a quesadilla; I don't like Quesadillas and, therefore, didn't get to eat my main course. One more note to mention, the drinks were ridiculously overpriced. We both had a double Don Julio Añejo which cost us a little over $55; I can buy an entire bottle for $60. All-in-all I'd say this was the worst restaurant experience I have had in a long time and am certain I will never return to this restaurant. I am giving the review two stars because I have had worse experiences and therefore feel this restaurant doesn't deserve to be rated at the same level as those places. read more

We came here after seeing a movie across the street. Honestly, chipotle would have been better! It took 40 minutes for a burrito bowl and a taco salad... When the food came, it was barely warm and looked absolutely disgusting. Super disappointed in our meal and the service we received. read more

Senor Tequila's - Gross excuse for a taco salad. - Mexican Near Me - Ashburn, Virginia

Great food, pretty decor, staff is new so need to mature a bit, but that's on par for all new restaurants and they make up for it in kindness. Bottom line It's as authentic as northern Virginia can be. Carnitas is the best for sure read more

Wow now I'm not a fan of Mexican food but Senor Tequila's just converted their steak tacos are to die for and happy hour on a Friday night till 7pm unheard of. I used manage and own restaurants and our server Norma absolutely one of the best I've come across. I'm now a fan of Senor Tequila's I might even make adventure and try something else. If you have never been to a Senor Tequila's do yourself a favor and give them a try they are fantastic. read more

Can't beat $5 margs from 2-7 pm happy hour everyday. Food is great and the homemade salsa is amazing. My favorite is the Lobster Molcajate. Ask for the diablo sauce if you enjoy more of a spicy kick. Have been a regular here since it opened! read more

So excited to finally have a delicious Mexico Restaurant nearby! The service and food was great! Big menu, appetizers, entrees, and drinks.. we were so full we didn't get to grab dessert..next time for sure. We will be back read more

So I really, really wanted to like this place as it's within walking distance. Sadly, that is not the case. Between the service being not very good (we sit at the bar and there is no one there for minutes at a time). I asked to switch out one cheese drizzle for a different one and told that was an up charge. Ok, weird but ok. Then today we are charged for salsa for our chips. We both sent our food back because mine tasted terrible and hers smelled terrible. No manager came to ask about it (although they did remove the items from our bill). Ran into somebody as we left, asked if he was the manager-he wasn't and had been waiting for anyone to help him. When a staff member finally arrived I asked to speak to the manager to talk about our experience. Was told the manager was too busy. Will never return to this place, which sucks because their salsa is pretty good. So disappointing. read more

Decor is amazing but food is mediocre. I ordered the fajita quesadillas and the flavors were okay, but they were extremely soggy. Not worth the high prices. read more

So let me start with the fact this was our 2nd visit. First time was shortly after opening and rather than leaving a rating after that visit we gave it some time and came back for lunch this week. I have to say, the service/food was wonderful. We met Mario and talked with him about last visit and this one and he was so pleased we gave Senor Tequila's a second chance. We will definitely be back again! read more

I feel like I have mixed feelings about this place. Mostly the service just brings it down hardcore. We arrived and were seated in a timely manner (5pm Friday). It took a while for our server to come over and greet us. We ordered 3 margaritas, 3 waters and asked for the chips and salsa (complimentary). Got our waters quickly but it took a while for the margs. We then didn't see our server for a while. When we did, we ordered an appetizer and our meals, thinking the food would take as long as the margaritas did. We got our quesadillas but no appetizer. Later we asked our server if it was coming, because we really did want the dips we ordered. She told us she forgot and would put them in right away. Once we got our app we didn't see our server again for a while. It then took 20 minutes to get our checks and 15 more before they were taken to be run. Overall we were at the restaurant for 2 hours. Our server was kind which I always appreciate. Overall- good atmosphere, tasty margs, yummy queso, okay guac, good steak quesadillas, SLLLLOOOOWWWWW service read more

Was subpar Mexican and the drinks were full of syrup and hardly any tequila. Super disappointing since this place is real close by. Server was great just think y'all need some work on certain areas read more

After reading all the horrible reviews, I wanted to be open minded so we went anyway. Arrived at 6:45 to the bar on a Friday night (good size crowd and only 2 stressed but nice bartenders serving the bar plus all the diners in the main dining room). Bartender tells us we still have 15 minutes to order from the Happy Hour "menu" which is nice but says they don't actually have a Happy Hour menu to look at. After he recited all the options, we order two huge $5 ciders on tap and a $5 Happy Hour Nachos at 6:45pm. We ordered nachos because we were starving and knew they would come fast. We received the nice cold ciders immediately. After 25 minutes, we had to ask to check on the nachos. It was clear he forgot to put in the order or the kitchen forgot.. either way, after he went back to the kitchen they appeared 5 minutes later. All told, 35 minutes to get $5 nachos - not a big deal since they were only $5. Not the worst nachos I've tasted but we were two beers in by the time they arrived and ready to go home.... I noticed similar issues with patrons around us. The salsa has sugar added to it (weird) but is yummy and the chips are thick, fresh, and warm. I recommend going here for a couple drinks and free chips only. I'll go back to try the margaritas since they appear to be fresh squeezed. Go somewhere else if you're hungry and want to eat in a timely manner. read more

We asked for a table and were pointed to one. Then we asked for menus and were given 3. THEN we asked for a server and were told one would be coming. One never arrived however, so we left and went to Blackfinn! I can't really review anything except the bar, where we had one drink, which is why I generously gave 2 stars. The draft selection is good and tequila and Tito's drink selections are as well, and the bartender was pleasant. read more

I should give cero star but is not a option Food terrible I never had a worths chicken fajita The service awful and the AC not field it Very uncomfortable please. Please don't tried to send me a gift card, I will never back read more

We love the one in Ashburn - Loudoun Station. Service is always great, very friendly. Food is fresh and good, lots of options and easy to adjust what you want if necessary. I was going to give 4 stars because 5 seems high, but I don't have anything negative to say so going for 5! read more

My husband and I came here with our daughters on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner. From beginning to end we had excellent service. The food was delicious - we split the fajita trio and it was plenty for two people. We will definitely be back! read more

Heading to Senor Tequilas while out in Virginia was a bit of a stretch. It was worrying because as a California native I get good, authentic Mexican cuisine in every hole in the wall place. However, Senor Tequilas was about as bland, commercialized chain Mexican as I expected- with display over flavor and not too spicy as to risk offending the uninitiated. What brought it down from a bland, three star experience was service. I couldn't believe how slow it was. With four tables on a rainy Sunday it was unbelievably slow. We ordered drinks, a round of beers and margaritas and some waters. I could have walked back, gotten behind the bar and made every drink on order for myself and other patrons faster than we got ours. We were left sitting with a bowl of empty chips and salsa for fifteen minutes. Finally water came, and then a weak and too-sweet margarita in the wrong glass. Who has ever put a margarita in a handled, heavy glass beer mug? Proper barware was not available, I suppose. When water came we ordered food. Other people finished their beers and we were left with now two trays of chips. Still no food. It was well past an hour sitting in the booth when food finally arrived. Formerly having been in service, I'm very sympathetic and will let many instances of long waits go. It's busy and not a waitresses fault. When the place is dead empty and it taked more than fifteen minutes to order let alone get a drink it's hard to justify. There was nobody in this place and one table arrived a few minutes before us. I'm not sure how a waitress, hostess, busser and one bartender was 'short-staffed' as the waitress said, not when it was 2PM on a Sunday with four tables but they weren't keeping up. Low expectations were given and still not met. read more

We live right down the street and have been anticipating this for SO LONG. To be honest I thought maybe the hype would be welcomed with a disappointing experience. But it was worth it. It did initially take some time to get our chips and a server but they compensated for it 100 times over. The manager I think came by and offered us different salsa options. My son loved the chicken tenders and fries and our table ordered the chip trio and it FILLED ME UP. I didn't even make it to an entree, I did take a few bites of my tables. Fajitas, taco and jambalaya, all so good! Cannot wait to make this our regular date night spot. read more

Our time started with a full glass of ice water getting dropped on my lap and didn't get much better from there. The food was all fine, but service was terrible. Cheese dip came out with no tortilla chips and fajitas came out with no tortillas. In both cases, we waited for over 5 minutes while food got cold while we waited for the things we actually needed to eat the food! Fajitas were undercooked, with no caramelization to the meat or veggies. When removing plates from the table the mostly empty cheese dip cup was dropped as well. The waiter didn't apologize and we heard nothing from anyone else. I ended up at the movies with soaking wet pants. Not a good first impression! read more

Service was ok. Chips were extremely salty. Salsa was pretty good. We ordered queso (it was the white queso), it was just ok. I got a fajita with chicken steak and shrimp and it was pretty good. Frozen Margaritas were pretty good. I'd recommend as a place to goto if you're headed to the AMC movie theaters and you want dinner beforehand as it is right across the street read more

Great location , food , service and fun atmosphere! This is the Mexican restaurant that my family chooses every time .

Great frozen beverages (not lacking on the alcohol unlike frozen drinks from some Mexican places). It's also reasonably priced for the area. We had poor service in the bar once, but the bartenders/management recognized that we'd been waiting for too long, and fixed it right away. We really enjoy the Molcajete dish. It's enough to share, and always delicious, plus that volcano stone bowl they serve it in is really cool (props for presentation)! Late Friday drink specials are also a plus! Definitely recommend if you're looking for affordable Mexican/margaritas in the Ashburn area (much more affordable than Uncle Julio's)! read more

This is our second visit to the Fairfax location. Went Saturday for Lunch. the Three of us had excellent Food. I love the Chicken Fajita (express or larger portion). My Husband liked his Chicken Burrito with all the sides (he likes mild not spicy and it was good). My Son liked his combo Chicken and Steak Tacos. Waiter (I think Ryan?) and Manager on Duty Christian, were very Customer Friendly and accommodating. So was the Assistant Servers who brought out Chips and Salsa. Maybe they can add Decaf Soda choices for Hubby. But, he was OK with Lemonade. Hostess at the Front was friendly and welcoming! We will be back. read more

We love Senor Tequila's since we discovered it when we moved to the DC area. The location in Sterling was our go to spot for Mexican food. We've been patiently waiting for the new Ashburn location to open as it's closer to our home. We went last night for the first time and the food was excellent! It tastes more authentic and fresh than the Sterling location. All of the staff were super friendly and checked on us frequently throughout our meal. The interior design is GORGEOUS and even the management stopped by our table to check on us. I highly highly recommend this location to anyone. It's in a perfect location and their margaritas are amazing! We will be regulars at this new location. read more

This was my first visit here as a good friend recommended it to me. I sat at the bar by myself. I got chips and dip fairly quick by a nice young lady but it took a little while to find a bartender. One finally came out and I ordered a margarita and a water. I sat there for about 10 minutes and didn't receive either. There were only 2 other people at the bar. The restaurant was a little busy but certainly not full. I imagine he might of been behind from making drinks for the floor but regardless I couldn't even get a water in 10 minutes. Needless to say I left. read more
