I've been coming to Senor Tequilas for over the last year. It was the happy hour go to spot for me and my coworkers. I loved the place and have kept coming despite the service in large groups being slower than molasses, despite the inconsistency in mixed drink and shot prices, the taco salad being a soupy mess, or even the fact that the tortilla machine seems to be perpetually broken when trying to order fajitas. Even after most of my coworkers stopped coming, I loved the place, and would have given them more stars, but tonight was kinda the last straw. First of all, I come in and ask if the machine is working, the girl says yes and then the server comes up and says no it's not. Alright, innocent mistake, fair enough. So I order my happy hour margarita and queso, chips come quick and so does the drink. We order early, and then the server disappears, I want to order another Margarita for happy hour but since happy hour has always ended at 7 I don't stress it. Me and a coworker split the fajitas, and we had to order an extra 3 dollars in sour cream and cheese because they always skimp, yet despite that the fact that they only bring 3 tortillas for a pair that is splitting the meal is ridiculous. Which I've gotten four before when I've ordered by myself, but to know we are splitting it, are regulars, and legit only bring 3!! Wtf?! So I give my friend the two, and finally get ahold of the waiter and ask for another Margarita and more tortillas. He informs me that the happy hour has changed, and then I realize that he conveniently came after the new happy hour time has apparently ended. Wow, real classy! Thanks, buddy! On top of doubling the price of my House Margarita he then charges me another two dollars for more tortillas! Which by the time they came the fajitas were stone cold, and I just give up and decide to leave. I'm just done with this place. There is a lot that I'm willing to overlook, but there always seems to be some issue!! The fact that we are treating a regular like dirt and trying to upcharge the hell out of someone loyal to your restaurant is just disgusting. Then we asked the bill to be split and add the double charged Margarita to my bill and even that was messed up. I'm just so done and it's so disappointing. It's like a bad breakup, when you have been dating for a while and just finally realize that they don't love you as much as you love them. Had dinner here after a movie, and got a table quickly, especially for a Saturday night. The food was good. We had a group of 15, so food took awhile to come out. I called their store and on google it said they were open. This was around 3 pm. After ringing, it went to voicemail and it said that nobody can take my call and to leave a voicemail. Leave a voicemail when trying to order food that I want to pick up asap so I can feed myself?? I've never had that happen and it was very upsetting since I was hungry and really wanted to try their food. I won't jump to conclusions though because it's Covid so they may have closed their store but it appeared it was open from what google and yelp said. Likely the worst Mexican food I've had anywhere. The fajitas looked like dog food and tasted like something that came out of a plastic bag, microwaved and thrown on a skillet. The Carne Asada was a very thin inedible piece of meat, the server was unable to identify the cut of meat but it's likely a chuck or some other cheap cut meant for a stew. The servers staff are very nice and pleasant but the food is really terrible and certainly over priced for this crappy quality. I was a first timer to this place today and with the competition in there area, this place does not deliver the same value. I called to place an order since I had a couple questions and I was told to hold and after 5 minutes I hung up and drove there. I walked in and there was a young lady sitting next to the podium on her phone so Iwent to the bar and stood there for a couple minutes and the bartender didn't even acknowledge me. Then I went backbto the podium and placed my order to go. I asked if it came with chips and salsa and ordered a Lg salsa. I was then paid almost $50 for 2 burritos that were not very good in comparison to others and there was a lg salsa with no chips. At this point I was upset, so I call and when asked if I could speak to the manager, I was told he was busy..they placed me on hold, but hung up after 2 more minutes. First & probably the last time we eat here ! Walked in & was taken to our table, had to wait 10-15 minutes just to have our order taken. It took 1 1/2 hours to get our food ! Once we got it the excuse was the cook mix up the order. The food itself Tacos & Enchiladas tasted very bland no flavor. The chips & salsa was ok the guacamole wasn't made properly was sent back 3 times till they got it right. I figured ordering Tacos & Enchiladas should of tasted better especially in a restaurant that specializes in them. It's like going to a hamburger restaurant , first they take over a hour to cook , secondly they taste bad ! Food & service here was the worst we had eating out in quite awhile. I live in the apartments above Senor Tequila's so I've given this restaurant more than its fair share of chances to improve its subpar food quality and service, but I'm just about at the end of that particular rope. Let's start with the original sin of Senor Tequila's: the tortilla machine. Yes, they love to point out that they have a tortilla machine. You can hardly miss the contraption; it's in its own little glass-enclosed cubby next to the front door. Only one small problem: as near as I can tell, the dang thing is only turned on Fridays and Saturdays. If you come here any other day of the week, the machine is off and anything that you order with flour tortillas is going to result in a platter of disappointment: reheated tortillas, NOT fresh or hot. I have brought this to the attention of the GM on more than one occasion and I keep hearing that they would *love* to have the tortilla lady (that's how he refers to the person who runs the machine) there seven days a week but the foot traffic isn't enough to justify the expense. Um, yeah... but your food is marginal to begin with, and microwaved tortillas don't exactly turn a "6" meal into an "8". Sigh. OK, so, let's say you show up some other night besides Friday or Saturday and you skip anything that comes with tortillas (that takes out about 3/4ths of the menu). That's OK, let's have a frozen margarita! OOPS, sorry, the slushy machine is broken (AGAIN). OOPS, sorry, we forgot to turn the machine on earlier today (AGAIN) so the margaritas are coming out kind of watery and unfrozen. Come on guys, this is supposed to be a Tex-Mex restaurant. We've already established that you only turn on your tortilla machine 2/7ths of the time; can't you at least ensure your margaritas are frozen and nicely slushy, as God herself intended? Double sigh. OK, so, let's say you have a tortilla allergy and you can't stand the taste of tequila. (Remind me again: why are you in a Tex-Mex restaurant?) At least the restaurant isn't busy, so the service will be fast and attentive... right? Well, no. I sure hope you're not in a hurry, because most nights the servers will be hiding in the kitchen and will only appear when I can only assume a timer goes off. Seriously, I once set a recurring alarm on my phone and our waitress came by every seven minutes like clockwork (and no, the place wasn't crowded). Unfortunately, sitting at the bar is not a viable solution, either; the bartender who's there Sunday through Wednesday should have his photo next to the word "sullen" in the dictionary. He's invariably slow to respond, always just this side of rude, and never fails to ensure you feel like you're bothering him when you ask for a basket of Doritos to go with your salsa. Honestly, at this point, I have no more sighs to give. So why do I keep giving this place eighth and ninth chances? Well, like I said, I live directly above the establishment, so it automatically gets points for convenience, and I'm nothing if not a creature of habit (and if I'm being honest, a bit lazy). When the tortilla machine is running and the margarita machine is slushing and the good bartenders are on duty (I never sit at a table anymore), the carne asada is actually pretty good and the prices are reasonable. But after yet another mediocre meal with a 'rita that was more water than slush and another 30 minutes of being glared at by Mr. Personality at the bar, I'm not sure there's going to be a tenth chance at this point. As mentioned before, the tortillas are nuked during the week, and that's the only time I really go to Senor Tequila's anymore; there are much better options elsewhere for the weekends. I dunno, maybe the management is hoping that Metro will get here sooner than scheduled, business will pick up, and *then* they will up their game. If that's the case, good luck with that strategy, but one of your original and formerly frequent repeat customers probably won't be around by then. read more

First time here. Took a little long for our food and was not busy. Food very average and too much like a chain restaurant..

Beautifully decorated, but very slow service and the food was underwhelming. We went for lunch as a party of six. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated, even though business was light. Ordered flautas, tortilla soup, taco salad, alitas (chicken wings), queso fundido, tamales and a kids quesadilla. None of the dishes were particularly as flavorful as Mexican dishes should be. It took about 50 minutes from when we placed our order, to get our food, and not all of it came out at the same time. The server came by infrequently, forgot the tortillas that came with the queso fundido, and disagreed with us that they should, until she looked at the menu. I was very impressed with the iconic decoration, which clearly took a lot of work and investment. Overall, the restaurant could improve a lot more. Given the prime location, it may not last long if it continues as is. read more

Went the weekend after opening around 4pm to avoid the dinner crowd. The restaurant was mostly empty. First impression was having to get new silverware since one set was dirty. Chips and salsa were okay. Waiter was slow, inattentive, and disinterested. Despite the lack of customers our meals were slow to arrive and we never got the appetizer we ordered. When we asked the waiter to make sure it came off the check he seemed perplexed that we still didn't want it and said he would go tell the kitchen. Really? I don't care what you do...you just gave me my main course, why would I want it now? I'm not paying for your mistake. All the food was pretty bland and definitely underwhelming. Daughter's hard taco shells tasted totally stale. Of our 4 meals no one was impressed and we all wish we'd gone somewhere else. Love the beautiful decor, nice clean restaurant. The food was excellent and it seemed their waitstaff is well trained. We had two waiters at all times instead of one, maybe this is part of their motto since they seem busy when we were there. They have a bar and what it looked like party room. Señor Tequilas is literally the worst restaurant ever. The management is clueless. One of the managers is only a manager because the owners were tired of hearing him complain at an old venue when he can only really bartend. This mangers is also very very very unprofessional because he also flirts with the customers at the bar. The owners are a family and it's overseen by the spoiled kids and sometimes the parents actually come in and help. The kitchen is not capable of handling too many orders at once and you really just end up sitting there for an hour to hour and a half just to get food. Went here for happy hour last night and really wanted to like this place. Decor looked nice, bar area was dark so we sat near a window in the main dining area. The server was very sweet and kind. We asked for the happy hour menu and was never given one as she claimed to know the menu by heart. When asked what drinks were on happy hour she mentioned a few slushes. I asked if there was alcohol in it and she said "I think so." Then I asked if there were food items for happy hour and she said no there wasn't, however, I called ahead and was told there were some food items. She proceeded to double check and came back to tell us the happy hour food items. Was disappointed with the happy hour drink options so we decided to go to Blackfinn Pub across the street. read more

Good first visit... sat at the bar due to the 30-45 minute projected wait. We had the ribeye with chorizo, chimichanga, and mini tacos... all were very good. Enjoyed the happy hour price of $5. Good food. Service lacking. The restaurant seems understaffed. The waiter serving our section seemed to be serving every table around us at once, and unfortunately we ended up in his black hole. He took our drink order, then our food order, then disappeared for the rest of the night. I finally had to flag down another server to deliver our check. Fortunately, the food was really good. Walked into the bar area around 4:30pm on a Saturday and was able to get a table right away. Service and food was excellent. Have had Paloma's and margaritas at other locations but this place makes them better than anyone by far. Strongly recommend if you want to savor out of the ordinary Mexican food- recommend Paloma's with tequila Dobel Silver and molcajete for main course. Gave them a 5 star. worst service ever. just skip it. they cant get the order right, they dont stop by to check on it, then it takes 3 people to finally bring you the right food but forget you might need a fork again after they took away the old cold stuff. who wants to eat when everyone else is done anyway? and who eats with out a fork? really, armature day, and it took 3 people just for that crappy service. i will go back to one of the many other places that can get a simple order right and care. this place is dead to me.
