I have been going to Scotty P's for over 15 years and the mushroom Swiss and cardiac fries are normally a must. While the burger was fantastic, the cardiac fries no longer seem to be worth it. Minimal cheese, hardly any Jalapeños and worst yet, they were cold and seemed as if they were made for another order who had cancelled and were given to us. Burger was great, cardiac fries were a HUGE disappointment and we will no longer be paying the premium $$$ for them. I hope it was a bad night on 11/06/23. I will not order them again. read more

Yum! My first time here and we picked up food to go. Impossible burger w/fries chips and queso, and chicken tenders. The chips were good and the queso was not the best I've had, but definitely better than most places I've tried recently. Kinda just old school crockpot velveeta and rotel, but that's never bad. The chicken tenders were seriously HUGE and fresh. More like chicken cutlets. Fried pickles were great, their house ranch is really good, too. Definitely some saltiness going on and huge portions of everything, so be mindful. I could easily split the chicken with someone else. I saw the giant cheesecake slices and decided I would like to try that next time. Service was great at the counter, the order was made fast, it was hot and fresh and they even brought the to-go bag to our table when it was ready. in all the years that I've been buying food from Scotty Ps restaurant and enjoying their hospitality, I have never been treated badly nor have I ever gotten inedible food. Yesterday was an exception. The onion strings were cold, damp and soggy. I called the restaurant and the person I spoke to did exactly what I expected them to do for a frequent client. "tomorrow ask for Cristo. come in and we make this right." So today I get an unexpected text notification from Scotty saying that my order is ready. Husband and I drive up here. CRISTO can't find the onion rings order, was confrontational, didn't do anything to confirm that I had ordered a full meal, including onion strings last night, even though that information is in the computer under my telephone number. s/he was dismissive and not interested in customer service. we went in there prepared to order two full meals and we're walking out disenchanted and discouraged. read more

I was relatively impressed by Scotty P's. I ordered the Irish Nacho Burger and WOW!!! It's like my burger love made in heaven! You seriously get the best of everything! Your burger comes with fries, bacon, and cheese!! As your side you get onion rings! The burger was really tasty! My whole family pretty much asked for a bite! We were gonna save the rest for later, but it never made it home! The lady who took our order was really nice, helpful, and friendly. Overall, the entire atmosphere and experience was pleasing. It was busy (during weekday lunch time), but that didn't impact the speed of service. The bus-lady made sure to keep the table clear and ready for the next guests. Also, I really liked the little yellow cups! They were super cute! For my drink I had a Vitamin Water XXX and regular iced tea and ooooh boy that was a delicious combo! You gotta give this place a try, and for those of you who have had bad experiences give them another chance. OMG, I this is the best place for burgers! Not only burgers though, I love their Chicken Fiesta Salad and PERFECT DELICIOUSLY FRIED, GIANT Chicken Strips. VERY GENEROUS PORTIONS! All their sides, also AMAZING! Fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, onions strings, etc = YUM! Oh and one last thing that's has to be said, they have the best ranch and Jalapeño ranch! I would drink the stuff if it wasn't weird. They told me they even make it fresh daily. I think all their food is very fresh. I did not like this burger. 1. It was overhyped and did not live up. If you would like to know the rest of the reasons, keep reading. 2. Salt. I feel like some people love it. I only like it in moderation. 3. Grated American cheese? I guess this is a thing that draws people. My 6 year old was not impressed. Nor was I. 4. Personal preference, but I didn't like the bread. It was too much and too hard. Maybe you might like it, though (really, I mean it. it just wasn't my taste). 5. I live near Uncle Uber's, Off-site kitchen, and Maple and Motor in Dallas. Those places make Scotty's seem like Jack in the Box, only a little pricier. 6. The cheese fries were good, but slightly less tasty than Snuffer's. I know convenience is a thing when you live in a city, or a suburb of a city. Especially where traffic is bad. But come on, people. Came here for an early lunch when I wasn't that hungry so I decided on ordering off the kids menu -- where all meals come with a drink and fries for $4.99. I replaced the drink with a chocolate shake for an extra cost of $2. My friend, who also ordered a kids meal, opted for sweet potato fries in place of the regular fries that comes with the meal for an extra $1.50. Not too terrible price-wise... and although we were aware that there would be a change in price for every replacement, it would be nice if we were told ahead of time (yeah, I'm talking to you Mr. Surly Teenage Cashier). The food was fine -- the patties were thin, but as could be expected from a kids meal burger... comparable to the size of the patties from Steak & Shake. The sweet potato fries and the chocolate shake were delicious and made the meal, as Yelp would put it, "A-OK." For a lunch that was less than $10, it wasn't too bad. Not really planning on making any return trips in the future but I recommend it for anyone who wants a quick, filling, and cheap lunch. read more

The owner is tremendous and really cares about the customers and the service and no matter what the food is always consistently excellent. Never greasy, or uncooked or put together sloppy. These burgers are a work of art and delicious as well......These cups are a verification that I have been coming for years (as I have over 2000 cups of all different colors). Some of the best ranch around!! I love ranch so when places have homemade ranch instead of hidden valley it makes me so happy. I eat like a kid so usually just get the grilled cheese with fries when I go. The grilled cheese is nothing special but still good! The fries are almost always crispy. Quality food but a bit on the pricey side--I disagree with the single $--but you're also paying for a clean, casual place and for good service (taking your order, etc). Hamburger patties looked very good quality and were very thick (1/3 lb. or more). They had nice grill marks on them, although one was medium well and the other one was medium rare with a little blood in the drippings. I hope they make their own beef mix from quality cuts, else I may be in gastric distress soon. Something particular about them is that they had a very dominant--almost overpowering--charbroiled and gamy taste to them. Overall the burger was good but a little on the bland side, and overpriced (not much more expensive than Kincaid's). The fries also get a passing grade, especially if you like BK fries more than McDonald's. They have some kind of starchy additive that makes them crispy and helps them stay hot. I give it 3 stars for the environment and for the good quality [I didn't say taste] of the food. We spent $22 for two double cheeseburgers--one of them with fries--and 2 drinks. I gave 3 stars because my loaded fries were not loaded missing bacon, chives and jalapeños. Brioche bun was super hard but the meat was cooked to perfection. I recently tried Scotty Ps a few times & have ordered a couple different things. They have a pretty extensive menu allowing you to customize pretty much any variation of a burger - veggie, chicken, beef etc. The food is cooked to order, which is nice. On my last visit, I ordered a "custom" grilled chicken with cheese, lettuce and tomato. I asked for no bun & got the combo with fries and a drink. While the food was fine, the cost for basically a smaller size grilled chicken breast was over 14 dollars. Since they have a tip line and the staff does work hard, my meal was over 16 dollars with tip. To me, even if your food is fresh, this is really on the high side for a casual restaurant, and due to that, I probably wouldn't go back. I can get a similar meal at Beck's Prime for two bucks less & the interior is also more pleasant. read more

Scotty P's off Custer, Plano. Been going there for 12+ years, always been very satisfied - until tonight and we will NEVER go back. Let me give reasons why: prices have practically doubled (understand price increase but $56 for 4 burgers, 2 of which are jr burgers, 1 regular burger, 1 impossible burger - all came with fries). Asked for jr burgers to be WELL DONE. One was - the other was RED inside, not pink - RED. Ordered a VEGGIE burger (used to be black bean). Not told now it's an "impossible burger". I personally do not care for impossible meat substitute, so that was another waste of money. At least inform customers of this recent change so they can decide if they want to order this or not. Too much bun - really thick - makes burger dry. Paying $1.25 for cheese - you need to put enough cheese on there to cover the bun, don't be so stingy. JC's Burger & Country Burger far outshine Scotty P's now. You really need to think about drastic changes if you want to keep customers. read more

Management was very friendly and the vibe seemed like a homestyle restaurant. It was not loud like other burger places Ive been to. I ordered the Ceaser burger and fries which were delicious. It sounded nasty at first but it was great. My only complaint is that they need a better line system. I got confused with the way the to go counter and the dine in line went. Also the fountain drinks are on the other side of the place so if youre ordering to go and get a drink you have ease your way around people ordering food to get to your location. read more

Both my patties were burned and the brisket tasted like it was very old. Best part of the burger was the bacon and fries. Ordering is little confusing with options to get burgers in several different combinations. Several bun options but be warned, sourdough is bread, not a bun. Either way, the burgers were great! Yes, you can order, customize and pay for your order without stepping into the restaurant, Yay! I ordered an original burger with guacamole and cardiac fries. I made the rookie mistake of not getting them loaded ($2 extra) and ended up with just a large mound f cheese fries. I customized my burger to be on texas toast and it was very good and big enough to split with someone else along with the fries. He got the fried chicken sandwich and it was so dang good I kept eyeing it as he took bite after bite! It was the most moist and juicy fried chicken patty I've ever tasted. The onion rings were pretty good but I will try the onion straws next time. My favorite part of the experience was my order was ready and completely accurate from pick up! They have decent burgers and fries. Their siganture hot dogs that are split down the middle and served on a hamburger bun are something out of the ordinary, and should be tried . Their crispy chicken salad is very very good, and their ranch is amazing. Now i always ask for the chicken on the side, and no tomatoes or onions. They use red onions, and they give me terrible heart burn, also i dont like red onions flavor at all. Also it may be weird but i dont like my cheese melted nor lettace warmed from the chicken which is why i order it on the side. They CANNOT seem to get this right. I always end up picking off the chicken, onions, and or tomatoes out of it. I then have warm melted cheese stuck to my lettace, onion flavored lettace, or tomatoes. At the establishment it is either deal with it or look like a douche and return it, wait for another to be made while the rest of my party eats. Its not that big a deal there, as i can get it all off rather quickly before it marinates and messes up the salad further with juices and heat. Tonight i took my order to go on my way home, ordered it my usual fashion and when i got home and opened my box, they had not put the chicken on the side and it had onions in it. The chicken had melted the cheese onto my salad, and warmed the entire thing. The onions by that time had tainted the salad with their flavor. Also they were close to closing time when i got my order so i couldnt return it. This wont stop me from eating there, but on my way home around their closing time, i will choose something else as i dont want to deal with an order made incorrectly.
