Everything bagel, loaded with topping and the perfect crispy to chewy texture of a great NY bagel. Tried the taylor ham, egg, cheese, and a light cream cheese layer. Messy but good. Husband forgot the tomatoes but this makes it even better. One was on an everything and one on a cheddar jack. We were in St Augustine for a party and hit up Schmagel's Bagels for an early Sunday breakfast. It's got a cool outdoor seating area in the shade which was perfect for people watching. I had a breakfast sammitch bagel with egg and sausage. My bride had an amazing looking cinnamon muffin. I tried to sample it but the missus said no way get ur own. I guess it was good. If you're looking for the best bagels in St. Augustine this is your spot! The owner and her staff was extremely friendly and do their best to make any guest feel at home. On my last day in the city I stopped by this spot to grab my wife and I some bagels for the road. I got lucky when I showed up because usually there is a line to get into this space. And understandably so because the food here is amazing! We ended up getting the angry Cornelius and the dirty duval. Both were delicious and super fulfilling. Definitely worth the price and the wait. I also ordered two cream cheese cupcakes smh one of the best cupcakes I've had! And what made it even better is that the owner was so nice that she gave me a second one for free. Dear Schmagel's Bagels, I love you. While on vacation we ate here 2 days in a row. First day I had an avobacocado and a cold brew and it was flavorful, fresh, and I still this about it to this day. My friend got a cold brew and an everything bagel with the specialty feta, cucumber cream cheese and she loved it so much she got it the new day too. The next day we came back and I got a Diablo. They have only one lady who rings you up and runs out to give you your food, she is very pleasant and works hard. Big props to her, the line is always pretty steep here but everyone knows it's worth it. The eating area is outside only with 2 or 3 tables having a cover and about 6 tables have umbrellas. It's very cute and the decor is pleasant. I wish I lived closer because this would be a regular spot for me. read more

They rung us up and then we waited outside on the patio until they brought it out. This place is small, no frills, but what they do they do very well. We got the French toast bagel with honey almond cream cheese. What a delicious dessert bagel! And they are so generous with the cream cheese. We also got an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on the jalapeño cheddar bagel with scallion cream cheese. WOW! I love that their bagel has pickled jalapeños on top. First off, the bagels were great. True NY style deliciousness. However, the rules for ordering more than four in one day were never posted in or outside of the store. Much to my chagrin, when I went to buy a dozen bagels, I was told that I could only buy four per customer. So decided to buy four, and my nephew tried to buy four behind me. He was rudely told that he was in the same party and could not buy any bagels, and was kicked out of the store. Even New Yorkers would never make up rules on the spot or treat a customer with such disregard. More incredible is that they referred me to their competitor twice when I asked if there was any way I could buy more bagels. And my reply was " all I wanted was a dozen Schmagel's Bagels." Good breakfast stop at Schmagel's bagels recently. It had been a while since my last visit. The people taking our order and prepping them were pleasant and friendly, the service quick. I had the breakfast sandwich (everything bagel, butter, egg and cheese). The bagels here are really good, the egg and choice of cheese hits well. It is a really good breakfast sandwich. I ordered the coffee as well. It's more of a medium roast so if you enjoy bold, strong coffee, you may want to add to it. I was surprised to see that all seating is entirely outside now. You used to have the option of indoor or outdoor. This can be problematic in St Augustine with the extremes in weather. Not a deal breaker, but it was a bit cold during our visit and there are no heaters. Another opportunity is the price point. It's a bit high for what you get. The sandwich I ordered was only egg and cheese and it was almost $8. Other specialty sandwiches can run between $14-16. Two regular breakfast sandwiches, bottled water and a regular coffee-$23. This is still a good spot. It's always crowded. Sells out often. For me, it's ideal for strictly bagels and carry out at this point. Solid place. Give them a try. read more

Stopped by here on a Sunday morning and would highly recommend. They have tons of options but be warned flavors run out fast and they close once they sell out. First and foremost, the bagels are great. Happy for a whole wheat everything bagel option. We are surprised that they no longer have indoor seating. It was a chilly morning but we decided to eat on the outside patio rather than walk our food back to the place we were staying. The rise in prices was a bit shocking too, one of the more interesting bagel sandwiches was priced at $15.95. We both decided to go with a simple egg and cheese bagel, mine with scallion cream cheese and his with butter. Both were warm and delicious when they arrived but soon got cold due to the weather. My husband ordered a coffee but was disappointed in the taste. I opted for a bottled water. Not sure why, but when paying, the bill rounded up to the next whole dollar amount. When I went to college over 20+ years ago, this was the hotspot for breakfast for most college students. Schmagel's was the bomb! You could eat inside or outside. However, this time when visiting during our college reunion, we decided to relive our college experience before heading to the airport. Upon arriving we realized you could only eat outside because they have blocked the inside during covid times. I understand the precautions but most places have opened up since the pandemic. I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich of the ham, egg and cheese on a Everything Bagel. The sandwich was warm and tasty. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches!
