4.75 Back and loved again. GREAT bagels and hooch is the basis of all. Super nice, great vibe, and quick. Everything bagel, loaded with topping and the perfect crispy to chewy texture of a great NY bagel. Tried the taylor ham, egg, cheese, and a light cream cheese layer. Messy but good. Husband forgot the tomatoes but this makes it even better. One was on an everything and one on a cheddar jack. Daughter had the avocado bacon- very good but thick on toppings- which is great for most but we scraped it lighter. We brought some bagels to also take home to include the Tuscan and French toast. Will be back again!
Fantastic! I had the Angry Cornelius and it was fire, literally. Grilled Egg. Thinly Sliced Boar's Head Ham, Applewood Bacon, Pepperoni, jalapeño cream Cheese, Melted swiss cheese, Chipote Aloli, Drizzle of Hot Honey, and Hot Cherry Peppers on an everything bagel. A flavor explosion! We sat out on the cute patio and will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Located right in the heart of the historic district on Hypolita St., Schmagel's is exactly what you want from a neighborhood bagel shop. It's got that classic, no-frills, "hole-in-the-wall" charm that feels authentic amidst all the tourist spots. The outdoor seating area is a total win--it's perfect for people-watching with a breeze while you fuel up for a walk down St. George Street. I went with a classic plain bagel. The texture was spot on--chewy on the inside with that essential slight crunch on the outside. Sometimes bagel shops treat coffee as an afterthought, but the iced coffee here was smooth, bold, and served over plenty of ice. It stayed cold even in the Florida humidity. The line can look intimidating because the space is small, but the staff moves with impressive speed. I was through the line and outside at a table in less than 10 minutes. They've clearly mastered the "morning rush" flow. If you're visiting on a weekend, get there before 10:00 AM. They are known to sell out of certain bagel flavors
Dear Schmagel's Bagels, I love you. While on vacation we ate here 2 days in a row. First day I had an avobacocado and a cold brew and it was flavorful, fresh, and I still this about it to this day. My friend got a cold brew and an everything bagel with the specialty feta, cucumber cream cheese and she loved it so much she got it the new day too. The next day we came back and I got a Diablo. They have only one lady who rings you up and runs out to give you your food, she is very pleasant and works hard. Big props to her, the line is always pretty steep here but everyone knows it's worth it. The eating area is outside only with 2 or 3 tables having a cover and about 6 tables have umbrellas. It's very cute and the decor is pleasant. I wish I lived closer because this would be a regular spot for me.

I got there in just in time to grab one of the last few bagels so get there early to make sure they don't sell out before you get there. I got the French toast bagel with strawberry cream cheese and an apple juice. The bagel was fresh and delicious. They also give a generous amount of cream cheese.
If you're looking for the best bagels in St. Augustine this is your spot! The owner and her staff was extremely friendly and do their best to make any guest feel at home. On my last day in the city I stopped by this spot to grab my wife and I some bagels for the road. I got lucky when I showed up because usually there is a line to get into this space. And understandably so because the food here is amazing! We ended up getting the angry Cornelius and the dirty duval. Both were delicious and super fulfilling. Definitely worth the price and the wait. I also ordered two cream cheese cupcakes smh one of the best cupcakes I've had! And what made it even better is that the owner was so nice that she gave me a second one for free. Whenever you are in St. Augustine, make sure to add this to your list of places to check out. Just get there early! And my bad about not having any pictures of the food. I was so excited to eat that I forgot to take some pics smh next time I got you!
We visited Schmagel's Bagels on a Sunday around 10:30am. I got a cheddar bagel with cream cheese and my companion got a bagel sandwich. They rung us up and then we waited outside on the patio until they brought it out. This place is small, no frills, but what they do they do very well. Their bagels are solid, their cream cheese is good, and their sandwiches are generous and tasty. It's become a staple for my st Augustine trips, and as long as they keep doing what they've been doing, they'll continue to be one.
Cozy place with great service and an even better bagel sandwich. The area was full of history while you eat your bagel sandwich.

Quick and easy service. Egg cheese and sausage bagel was very rich and salty but delicious (Id skip the cream cheese next time since the regular cheese was probably enough). Mediterranean bagel sandwich was amazing. So fresh and well balanced. Would definitely return :) read more

Schmagel's Bagels is a cute little spot in St. Augustine offering fresh bagels and yummy schmears. We stopped by around 9:30 am on a weekday and thankfully, they had plenty of bagels! We got the French toast bagel with honey almond cream cheese. What a delicious dessert bagel! And they are so generous with the cream cheese. We also got an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on the jalapeño cheddar bagel with scallion cream cheese. WOW! I love that their bagel has pickled jalapeños on top. So delicious though the cream cheese didn't taste strongly of scallions. Overall, really enjoyed this spot and would definitely come back! read more

A real bagel joint! These are hard to find in Florida. The bagels were amazing! Cream cheese variety and sandwich options make them stand out. We opted for toasted twice as we like a little char. Good breakfast stop at Schmagel's bagels recently. It had been a while since my last visit. The people taking our order and prepping them were pleasant and friendly, the service quick. I had the breakfast sandwich (everything bagel, butter, egg and cheese). The bagels here are really good, the egg and choice of cheese hits well. It is a really good breakfast sandwich. I ordered the coffee as well. It's more of a medium roast so if you enjoy bold, strong coffee, you may want to add to it. I was surprised to see that all seating is entirely outside now. You used to have the option of indoor or outdoor. This can be problematic in St Augustine with the extremes in weather. Not a deal breaker, but it was a bit cold during our visit and there are no heaters. Another opportunity is the price point. It's a bit high for what you get. The sandwich I ordered was only egg and cheese and it was almost $8. Other specialty sandwiches can run between $14-16. Two regular breakfast sandwiches, bottled water and a regular coffee-$23. This is still a good spot. It's always crowded. Sells out often. For me, it's ideal for strictly bagels and carry out at this point. Solid place. Give them a try. read more

Stopped by here on a Sunday morning and would highly recommend. They have tons of options but be warned flavors run out fast and they close once they sell out. I ordered an onion bagel breakfast sandwich with jalapeño cream cheese, sausage, and egg (a choice driven by few options to choose from due to other flavors being sold out). While we were enjoying our bagels outside the shop, we watched them sell completely out! Definitely somewhere I'll be returning to on my next trip! read more

The server was supe friendly and fast when taking orders. I ordered the taylor ham egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and wow it was so good! The sesame bagel was fresh and so were the toppings. Stopped by this cute little bagel shop for breakfast! The line was around the corner so we figured it was good. They have a TV outside updating you on which bagels they're out of, too. The menu is large and diverse and the food is delicious! The wait went by quickly especially once we ordered. read more

When I went to college over 20+ years ago, this was the hotspot for breakfast for most college students. Schmagel's was the bomb! You could eat inside or outside. However, this time when visiting during our college reunion, we decided to relive our college experience before heading to the airport. Upon arriving we realized you could only eat outside because they have blocked the inside during covid times. I understand the precautions but most places have opened up since the pandemic. I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich of the ham, egg and cheese on a Everything Bagel. The sandwich was warm and tasty. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches! I also ordered and ice coffee which was just okay. I'll always have a soft spot for this place. read more
