UPDATE: I would suggest never letting them cut the bagels because over half of them were cut from the top slanted down to the bottom and one was actually cut from top to bottom. Four of them could not even go into the toaster if I wanted them too. The bagels are fantastic, but they're cutting skills Are severely lacking if you want to toast a bagel. If you just want pieces of a bagel then you're set. This by far is the best bagel place in Northeast Florida! It is truly difficult to find a decent bagel around Jacksonville and Saint Augustine however, this is a true local owned gem! The bagels are prepared fresh with a variety of flavors including ghost pepper bagel (not something I'm brave enough to try. They had ample pumpernickel bagel, which is one of my favorites and they will cut them through a machine for free. The customer service is outstanding. I was greeted with a smile and she was very patient as I was selecting the bagels. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and inviting and has a small hint of a New York deli. I was craving a solid lox bagel and found this bagel place close by on 210. I was lucky getting there at 9:30 to have gotten a bagel at all. This place is hopping!!! I saw many people order ahead to make sure they got their bagels. So much so I ordered the last everything bagel, or so I thought. It was already called for by an online order. Went this morning after early morning eye appointment next door. WOW was I surprised. I got a jalapeño bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. Truthfully not expecting much jalapeño taste. boy was I pleasantly surprised. I quickly got the hot stuff runny nose. I was also excited not only did they cut the bagel in half, they also put on the cream cheese (lots of it) and then cut it in fourths. This made it very easy to eat. Also the bagel was very soft even after being toasted. I just wish they had one closer to where I live. The staff was extremely pleasant. Inside very clean, quiet and pleasant. Very busy bagel shop but A hidden diamond in the rough. The line was out the door. I ordered a half dozen of bagels. 2 french toast, 2 cinnamon raisin and 2 everything bagel with honey walnut cheese spread. I had to wait 15 minutes for the cinnamon raisin bagels which are a hot commodity. There is no bagel shop close to us. The next closet Bagel shop is in Mandarin, bagels R us. I was not a fan. I've been going to Bite a Bagel since it opened. I'm originally from New York and this place is legit the best place in North Florida (possibly the whole south) to get bagels. Service is great but understand they get very busy on the weekend and holidays. So expect to wait. Order ahead because they sell out all the time. My only critique is that for some reason the owners opt to make their ham egg and cheese sandwiches in the New Jersey pork roll style. Go thinner on the ham! read more

For some odd reason, I have never once visited this shop since I moved around this area in 2005 til this day. My manager was amazed and told me to try it this weekend. And so, I did. Lol. Came here with my sister and the shop was quite busy, but not hectic. Opened the door and smelled the great fresh coffee and bagels. Nice and cute decor and the staff were friendly. We ordered: - Everything bagel w/Lox Spread - 1/2 dozen bagels (blueberry, 2 asiagos, 2 wheats and a garlic) The lox spread was amazing and I love savory tastes. Based on their website, lox is raw sugar cured smoked salmon. This cream cheese spread was also mixed with capers, scallops and a hint of lemon. The family enjoyed the bagels as well. These bagels are extremely fluffy, doughy, starchy, and filling- just how I like them! My favorite is the sesame seed but the everything is a close runner up. They have an outstanding selection of cream cheese, I enjoy the scallion cream cheese or the veggie cream cheese as an upgrade to my usual lox bagel. After reading negative reviews, we opted to try this nearby bagel place anyway. We read about long waits and bad service, so when a friendly cashier quickly got our order together, we were delighted. There was barely any wait on this late Saturday morning. There were also warnings on the wall that wait times may be long - so they do acknowledge it may be a part of your experience. The bagels and cream cheese were moderately priced and pretty delicious. I had an Asiago with jalapeño cream cheese, my husband had Asiago with bacon cheddar (yummy and smoky), and my daughter had chocolate chip. We all enjoyed are heavily cream cheesed creations. I got the flavored coffee which was like Jamaican coconut or something. It was really good. Not super strong but typical taste of flavored coffees. (Think Panera's hazelnut). Was in the area and stopped by for a quick bite. They offer online ordering and you can just pick up outside the front door to help with social distancing and if you are on a time crunch. I went inside an ordered as there was no line at the time. They have an impressive menu that offers breakfast and lunch sandwiches along with traditional bagels and spreads ranging Inna variety of flavors. The sign out front showed that they have seasonal flavors like pumpkin right now as well. I went basic and ordered a blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese & french toast bagel with walnut spread. Seating inside is labeled for customers dinning in only to help with social distancing. Once you place a to go order you have to wait outside with the online orders. There are social distancing markers on the floor when you come in to order. This small bagel shops gets suuuuper busy, but it is so so good & worth the wait! I normally call-in or order my food online through the website. It's less of a hassle, and I am currently still post-op an ACL surgery, so getting out of the house in general is a bit of a hassle for me. I sent in my fiancé to pick up my Lox spread on an everything bagel. He is very impatient and hates waiting (thus my reason for ordering ahead) and he came back within 15 minutes since we live close by. I have only recently started going here, so I cannot speak on the service yet because this started while I am still bed ridden and craving bagels every morning. However, my fiancé stated he liked the vibe of the little shop every time he goes inside. read more

I went to Bite a Bagel today and ordered a dozen bagels, six cheese and six pumpernickel. I was told that you get a baker's dozen and asked for additional pumpernickel. Upon arriving home I went to package the bagels to freeze and use as needed. I had only received nine bagels. I called the store and after speaking with the person who answered the telephone was told that the manager would be right with me. The managers name was Nellie. I repeated the story to Nellie and was told the bagels would be replaced when I come back the next time. FINE! Then I was told the the person who took care of me said he gave me what I had asked for. Erica has been wanting to try this place for awhile so we stopped over while running errands. I read the menu online before getting there, yet I was still overwhelmed by all of the choices. There's something to be said for staff that are not afraid to tell you what their favorites menu items are, makes for easier decision making. After standing there in wonderment I decided on a cinnamon raisin bagel with plain cream cheese. Normally I don't like toasted bagels, however this time I changed up the game. For the Half Dozen of bagels to go we ordered 2 Asiago 1 Egg Everything 1 Everything 1 Blueberry 1 French Toast We toasted at home and a smear of cream cheese. The Asiago had a nice crisp exterior with a chewy interior. The top with the cheese had a good amount of Asiago, yet not too much to be overpowering. The French Toast....insert chef's kiss emoji here! It is egg based, which makes sense because it is called French Toast. The exterior has a nice crisp, the interior is like a cinnamon brioche french toast. The other 4 bagels will be consumed over the weekend. I'll try to remember to come back here and update. Wow! These bagels are supreme! If you are like me and from up north... you are always looking for the best bagels! About 15-20 minute drive from our house but it is worth the drive! We just got bagels so I can not compare the sandwiches. We had the Pumpernickel/Everything/Asiago and Ghost Pepper bagels! Great with just butter or cream cheese but also divine with eggs/bacon and alittle Boursin cheese( just like cream cheese but better!!) so excited to have this delicious bagel shop so close now!! read more

Being from New York I can be somewhat of a snob when it comes to getting the best bagels . I'm happy to report that we have found the best bagels in Florida . Not only are the bagels the real deal but they are always so fresh and stay that way till you eat the last one . Their choice of cream cheeses are so good ...my favorite being the vegetable cream cheese. The staff is so good and seem to like their jobs . They also have breakfast specials including a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel . They are closed on Monday and crowded on the weekends but worth the wait . Spread with a touch of bagel. Bagels might be okay, but hard to tell because they load so much cream cheese or butter on there. Ordered a blueberry bagel and asked if they had honey - they didn't, but said they had honey butter. I was expecting a light spread of honey butter, not enough to give my kids a heart attack. I have been here a few times and each time it is better than the time before! The bagel sandwiches are made fresh so they do take a couple of minutes to make but it is worth waiting. My favorite is the bacon egg and cheese on an Asiago bagel with bacon and chive cream cheese, it's my cheat day go to. The staff is very friendly and helpful, if you can't make up your mind they are more than willing to help you. Baby-Sized-Bagel-Buyers-Beware! They call it a New York bagel. That is hilarious! My friend visiting from New York wore one of these little joke of a bagels as a pinky ring! Bite-A-Bagel should be renamed to: Baby-Bagel, Mini-Bagel, Rip-Off-Bagel. Joke-Of-A-Bagel, Krystal-Bagel or anything similar. Their tiny-bagels are much smaller than a slice of American cheese or an English muffin. How pathetic is that? The only thing big on their bitsy-bagels is the disproportionate gigantic hole in the middle of it. This allows cheese, egg or anything else you put on these tiny-bagels to drip or fall through. One slice of American cheese would completely cover it. You could not make a worse bagel if you tried. How can any bagel under a three inch diameter be called a bagel? The prices of their bagels has steadily risen and the size of their teeny-weeny-bagels has shrunk. Their dough dispensing "machine" is blamed for everything. Visually, everyone knows a mini-bagel when they see it, so if the "machine" is spitting out baby-sized-bagels it should be stopped and readjusted. The truth is they should be embarrassed to sell these bagelettes, but obviously they do not care. Do NOT waste any of your money here unless you want to pay a high price for what is half of a normal size bagel anywhere else. New York Bagel? ROTFL read more
