Airport food- its hit and often miss right? This place is pretty good. I ordered the nachos with carnitas. The ordering is completed by a QR scan on the table. Someone brings your drinks and food. I'm guessing the server saw me putting my bag on top of my carry on and thought I just arrived and wasn't going to deliver my food. Drink arrived after food. A supervisor told her to drop off the nachos to my table. She tells supervisor that I literally had just sat down (inaccurate). The supervisor was very kind and friendly. Food- these really are good nachos. Just the right amount of cheese and meat and the chips are a perfect crisp. Ambiance- laid back. Clean. Would I return? Yikes! Thought I'd catch myself a quick beer and sandwich before my red-eye flight back across the US and this seemed like a good choice... it was not. The beer was mediocre and the food was absolutely awful. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was basically a frozen patty liked you'd get at a school cafeteria with some half melted cheese thrown on top. I took a few bites and pushed it aside. After losing my appetite I thought maybe just keep this a liquid dinner and enjoy my beer.... Nope. Beer was skunky and I could tell those lines needed to be cleaned. So rather than get sick I also pushed that aside. Airplane snack food is the dinner of frequent fliers anyway. Not sure I get this "limited menu" situation. If this was a year ago in the heart of covid I'd get it. But now, the world, at least the Phoenix corner of it, is back to normal. The "can't get all the ingredients" argument doesn't work either since other Phoenix SanTan locations have full menu. I'm guessing a staffing issue since the servers just want your order, for you to eat, and then pay and get out. But after all we are taking about an airport location so probably shouldn't expect much. Nice food corner in Sky Harbor terminal 3, close by Gate F7, has also a bar service. The brakfast menu only counts for three items. The carnitas taco combined with scrambled eggs and fries turned out to be very delicious -- combining two gastronomy cultures from both sides of the southern border in an intreresting yet simple fast-food style. The carnita, unlike in mexican terminology that normally refers to grilled and chopped pork meat, turned out to be -- pretty tasty -- barbacoa-style slow-cooked variant. We had ice tea to drink in the total bill came to $37, which is typical airport pricing. Sitting next to the gate F6 in Terminal 3 - this is the best spot to wait for a flight to board. The prices are reasonable and the beer is good. *Service can be a little slow. Large open space with TV screens showing sports, and plenty of outlets for charging items. We didn't eat, but did enjoy a beer flight and the SanTan Peach Kettle Sour on drought. It was delightfully puckering and refreshing. We asked for a growler of the root beer to go, but they were out. The menus boast their famous root beer being their signature item, and it was an early Tuesday morning. A bit surprising that they were out. Shopping and restrooms are nearby. Easy to hear announcements from your seat in the restaurant. Give it a try if you have an hour to kill. The beer is good and cold. read more

Couldn't even get the waitress to bring a water. The old fashioned was not good and the side salad was the equivalent of someone opening a bag of mixed greens and putting it on a plate with some cut up tomatoes. The buffalo chicken sandwich was made with as much attention as the rest of the meal. Taste was decent but the buffalo sauce barely made it on the sandwich. This is my second time eating at the San Tan in the Phoenix airport. Because of the pandemic in the F gate area this is the only restaurant with tables. It was a nice break not wearing a mask (especially because I am fully vaccinated). The menu, ordering and paying are all done through their website with a QR code. In theory the system would work well except their website has issues. I had to try and place my order 4 times before it went through. As far as the food it is okay. I got a burger and had a seat that faced the Shake Shack. The entire time I just keep wishing I was eating a Shake Shack burger. Don't get me wrong. The burger was actually good. Over all my visit was good. Good service, decent food and a place to sit down away from the gates. read more

We had lunch here at the airport before boarding our flight. It was a little busy but our waitress was fast and friendly. I ordered a salad and was looking forward to having something healthy before sitting on a plane for the next four hours. Unfortunately the salad was not great.. the tomatoes tasted sad and elderly and the croutons were sweet and soggy. Not sure what they were supposed to be like but it tasted pretty yucky. I decided to grab some fries and a Bloody Mary while waiting to board my flight. There was a 5 to 10 minute wait to get seated as they have limited due to distancing. The Bloody Mary was tasty and the fries cooked crisp. My main complaint is their ordering system. I don't mind scanning the code in order to view the menu and order, however the system is lagged and had to reload several times. The bartender was attentive and helped me with the issues, however had I been in more of a hurry I could see this being a major issue. Since, my time was limited as it was, it was annoying and clearly not the staffs fault. Also, I was dissapointed by the lack of options for sides. A gem on the walkway near Gate F7 for good food, great service and a nice facility (clean). The real gem is "Crystal" whose service is done with enthusiasm, and an upbeat cheerful attitude that really enhanced my breakfast dining experience while waiting for yet another delayed flight. Three cheers for Crystal! Be sure to ask for suggestions from Crystal; she can guide options in detail including of course specials...Huge portions; so, to be prudent, think about sharing. I played it safe with a bacon cheese burger and my husband got the Sacred Stave burger and I should have ordered that. I had one bite and it was awesome! My burger was good, don't get me wrong, but the flavors of his burger different and delicious. They have really good fries and I really liked the juicy jack beer I ordered. I'm going to see if santan beers are available where I live (Michigan). Our server was a super sweet woman who called everyone sweetie or sweetie-pie (or something similar). This was an above average airport dining experience. The food was fresh and delicious! I had the carnitas tacos. The beer was also exceptional and my server took time to help me choose which I really appreciated. As a lone traveler I thought I wouldn't be seated in a nice place but the hostess graciously accepted my request to be seated by the windows. Honestly I loved it and l stop by every time I'm in town. Today, I give San Tan 5 stars! Chris was an outstanding Bartender and server! Kudos to the Santan hostess who sat me promptly at the bar. The hostess was slow, the service was slow, there were at least 6 empty tables with a line waiting to be seated. This is an AIRPORT - people need to be seated & served promptly! A brewery? In an airport? Sign me up! It was 9:30PM, we were sitting in the terminal getting ready to fly back home, and overheard a group of ladies yell, "let's go to the brewery!". Well, okay then! I didn't know this group of ladies but I was intrigued that there was any place with craft beer within an otherwise depressing airport terminal. SanTan Brewing has a ton of seating, Much of which was closed since it was so late and they stop serving food at 10PM. We still managed to score a high-top. We had a delicious stout which was needed right before our 5 hour flight home. Great music was playing. Tons of people enjoying themselves at the bar. And we were within earshot of our gate so we didn't actually leave until just before they started boarding. The reason I knocked off 1 star? The service. Our waitress was friendly but had no time management skills whatsoever. We waited 10 minutes to get our check, 20 minutes for her to take our card, and another 10 minutes to get the check/card back. That's 40 minutes of us trying to get out of the place and catch our flight and that sweet overhead bin space. We saw other couples getting antsy as well as they, too, waited for her to check on them and whatnot. I will definitely come back but might just try to sit at the bar next time. read more

My wife, son and I decided to get something to eat while we were waiting for our flight. We had over an hour to get something ordered, eaten and to our flight which was literally walking distance from where we were. We went to SanTan. It looked cool, it had a local location in Chandler, we figured the food would be good. It took forever for us to get a seat, and then what was worse was that once we ordered our food, it took over 40 minutes to get served, so we only had a few minutes to eat what we ordered and get to our plane. The waitress took so long to bring me my bill and then ring it up, we almost missed our plane. We ended up boarding with only 3 minutes left to get on or we would have been stuck in Arizona. We had repeatedly told her we had a flight leaving soon and dropped hints that they were taking too long, and that didn't matter. Slow walked the heck out of our bill at the end until we were almost stuck in Arizona! I get that they were busy and understaffed... BUT YOU GUYS RUN A RESTAURANT IN AN AIRPORT! PEOPLE HAVE TO CATCH FLIGHTS. WHAT'S THE DEAL? SERVE YOUR FOOD FAST, OR PACK IT UP AND LET SOMEONE ELSE TAKE THAT SPACE THAT WILL!
