Not the best Thai food we've ever had, but still very good imo esp. on LI. The staff were friendly, and all the food came out quick. We got the shrimp roll, Sanook Thai wings, and Sanook sausage to start, as well as a Thai iced tea. For our entrées, we got the drunken noodles and pad see yue, both with beef. Everything tasted authentic and flavorful. My favorite was the chicken sausage- I wrapped it in lettuce with the ginger & onions, it was soo tasty, and had a nice crunch. The Thai wings & shrimp roll were alright- nothing special about them. They both rely on the sweet chili sauce to give them flavor. The drunken noodles (spicy) & pad see yue (sweet) were also really good. However, the noodles were quite spicy for our liking- would've preferred it to be less spicy bc our mouths were burning afterward. But overall, we had a good experience here- I would def come back again. Plus, they have a parking lot in rear :)

Cute thai restaurant in the area. In general, Thai food is not my favorite on Long Island but this is a reasonably good spot. This certainly will hit any cravings. However, the dishes varied in quality and flavor. The tom yum soup had a good tang and was punchy but was too oily and the soup barely had the solid components (mushrooms, protein of choice, etc.). I tried the khao soi which was well made, flavored, balanced and much heartier. The drunken noodles were bland and rather oily without much salt even. I wish it also had better textures. Thai teas were standard and good. Asked for leas ice but the drink had quite a bit of ice still. Service was quick and friendly. This spot got busier as the evening went on and it was a weeknight.

Finally a Thai place that offers good service, good food, and good prices! I've tried a few Thai places around the area but I always felt they were overpriced with mediocre food. I hope Sanook Thai sticks around as the staff is also friendly! I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Pad See Ew. Both were saucy, had good flavor, and had good portions. The best part was when I called for pick up and the man said it would be ready in 5-7 minutes. I drove right over and the food was packed and ready to go!

The best authentic food in town. The food is so delicious and the portions are big. I love fried chicken with sticky rice.

The taste is good I will give it to them. But the portion of FAT from the crispy pork is legit 85-90%. Barely had any meat to eat with the fried rice. I hope they stop this tactic and make a good selection with their meat. I would still give it a try and hopefully this is a one time incident.

Excellent Food and service, will be coming back! Ambiance is authentic in a cute, quiet environment.

Authentic flavors, cozy ambiance, and attentive service make this Thai restaurant a must-try.

This place is a gem on Long Island for Thai food. I love Thai food in queens for its authentic taste but Sanook definitely hit the spot nestled in Hicksville, LI! When we arrived we were seated right away and the service was consistent and quick. We barely had to wait for anything. The food here was exquisite! The must try's: 1) Curry puff - amazing crispy flakey dough with minced meat inside and with a side of a sweet cucumber dipping sauce, it's the perfect pair with a balance of salty and sweet! 2) Thai Basil Chicken - this was amazing as well! The flavor from the Thai basil and the chili sauce they added was great! It is spicy so be careful when choosing your spice level, we chose spicy and it is in fact spicy. We loved it still! 3) Pad See Eew with Shrimp - the noodles were great! A staple for me when I am at Thai places. The noodles were coated with a sweet and tangy sauce with spicy shrimp and some veggies. It was a great addition. 4) lastly, my favorite Thai dish - Panang curry with beef - this was beyond amazing, I love panang curry and this was definitely made extremely well! The perfect creaminess, and the flavors of coconut milk, Thai chili, panang curry far exceeded my expectations! Definitely a must try! Overall I would say this is one of my top favs on Long Island for Thai food so far! A must try for a quiet, cute, quaint Thai spot!

This place makes no mention of being closed nor did they have an answering machine to let people know they are closed or when they open. This is disappointing and poor service at its finest.

We discovered this restaurant when we were waiting for the traffic light on old country road. The place has only been opening for 3 months. Its small but well decorated and clean. The owner/chef is very nice and food is amazing. We ordered three appetizers and two main entrees and we enjoyed every dish. We have never seen Tom Yom fried rice on any Thai restaurant menus that we have tried. So we decided to give a try. Oh my gosh, it was so good. Full of flavor. It's spicy but not as spicy as Kee Mao fried rice. My husband ordered beef pad sew, it was really good too. Each dish is well presented and flavorful. We were so full and had to skip the dessert. Will definitely go back and try other dishes plus the desserts.

Garlic and Black Pepper Mock Duck & Papaya Salad - amazing.

3.5 Stars for their lunch specials!…read more This was our first visit, and we only ordered a salad and two lunch specials. I would definitely come back to try other items from their regular menu. I found the entrees in the lunch special a little skimpy. These are the dishes we shared: -- Papaya Salad ($12): this is from their regular menu, and I thought it was excellent! Well balanced and so tasty! -- Drunken Noodles w.Beef (Lunch Special $14.95): this came with a Spring Roll and your choice of either Soup or Salad. We chose the Soup, which was a Tom Yum Soup. The Soup was very spicy but the Drunken Noodles were very mild; almost bland. It definitely needed more flavors and wok hei, but still ok. -- Massaman Curry w.Shrimp (Lunch Special $14.95): this came with a Spring Roll and your choice of either Soup or Salad. We chose the Salad, which came with a Peanut sauce. The Salad was actually pretty good; the peanut sauce was slightly sweet. The Massaman Curry w.Shrimp was very weak in flavor and only came with 3 little shrimps. I would suggest you order a different protein and skip the shrimp. Customer service was good; albeit there was nobody to greet us when we first arrived, so we just seated ourselves. But service got better. They didn't rush us to order and let us linger after we finished eating. But after a while, we were asked to leave since they close the restaurant in between the lunch and dinner service (between 3:30-4:30pm). Sorry, we were not aware of this! All in all, a decent first experience. Next time, I'd skip the lunch specials and just order off their regular menu.

I don't know if they weren't busy because it was a weekday and gloomy weather outside but our server was very friendly/sweet/welcoming and we were both happy with our meals and drinks! There is a small free parking lot behind the restaurant. I almost missed the entrance to the lot but it's literally right next to the restaurant, which is a small cute looking stand alone house. There were tables out front but the day we went it was a little chilly/rainy so we opted to sit inside. There were a few tables inside and even a small bar so we just sat in a booth. The overall decor inside was very cute! There's also a bathroom in the back. I ordered the Lunch Special: Pad See Ew with Shrimp and a Thai Iced Tea. I forgot what my friend ordered but she really liked it and said it had a home-cooked meal feel to it which was a positive thing. The savory-sweet soy-based sauce coated everything perfectly, and the mix of tender chicken and juicy pieces made it incredibly satisfying. The Beef Red Curry was rich and aromatic with a luscious coconut milk base. The red curry paste had great depth. There was layers of lemongrass, galangal, and spices. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and Thai basil were fresh and plentiful. I loved how it had a nice kick that built up without overpowering the dish. The Chicken Satay came out perfectly grilled with beautiful char marks. The chicken was juicy and marinated well, and the peanut sauce on the side was creamy, nutty, and addictive. Finally, the Basil Chicken delivered that classic Thai street-food flavor. Plenty of fragrant holy basil, lots of garlic, and just the right amount of chili heat. The chicken was tender with great texture, and it paired amazingly with jasmine rice. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and beautifully presented. The food is probably one of the worst Asian fusion places I've had and I honestly feel like all of the money goes into presentation instead of actual quality. I've been here a few times and for some reason, have been around people that ordered takeout from here a few times so I've given them a chance more times than I should have and they have never delivered. The drinks are okay, definitely another one of those "presentation heavy" style drinks for some simple cocktails but I wont fault them for that. The real problem here is the food. I've ordered a few of their noodle dishes and it's honestly impressive how they manage to avoid having any flavor in their dishes. Like, I dont even know how you can get shrimp to taste like nothing but they've definitely done it here! The chicken I've had in their dishes is without a doubt frozen and if its not flavorless, its definitely rubbery and about as appetizing as eating a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Aside from the fact that their portion sizes are way too small for the prices they are charging. If you want Indian food, there are plenty of better options on the same street and same thing if you want Asian food. If you want to impress someone for about 5 minutes, take them to the actual restaurant, stare at some fish, get 1 drink and then high tail it out of there cause even the fish deserve better food than what they serve here.
