Took a group of eight people. It was easy to make a reservation, and the table was well set. This was for a luncheon. The charcuterie board was amazing. The crab dip was delicious. Sand Point was lovely, the decor was what I would call quietly coastal. The first thing I noticed was there was no fish odor, though it is a seafood restaurant. That was refreshing. We visited on a Tuesday night, it was quiet, three (3) or four (4) other tables, easy to hear one another, without raising our voices. Apparently the weekends are really busy & a reservation is recommended. It's in Miracle Hills on the East side of 114th in the former location of Jack & Mary's. The staff were friendly & helpful. Our waitress visited with us, gave us some history on the restaurant, the chef, etc., she was really helpful in describing items in the menu, & providing recommendations. They offered specials which sounded delicious, in addition to the regular menu. My friend & I decided to try a variety of items. We each ordered a small house salad. It was really fresh, I had the lemon poppyseed dressing, it was just right, tangy & not too sweet. We split the Crab Cake it was flavorful & all crab meat, the Haricot Verts, a.k.a. fancy green beans, & the Lobster Mac & Cheese, delicious. I'm not sure how they cooked the lobster, but it was really tender. We had the Grilled Peach Cobbler for dessert, a little smoky, large peach chunks, sweet from the fruit instead of a lot of sugar, & topped with vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of caramel sauce, yummy. I felt like the prices were fairly reasonable considering it is fresh seafood in Nebraska & the economy. I am frugal, so when I do go out, I want my money's worth in portion size, flavor, price & service. Sand Point hit the mark for me, give them a try. read more

It's a very well laid out setting I think a tad bit overpriced for what you get. Service was excellent. Clam strips were probably the best bang for the buck. Lobster roll was ok, I have had much better in Connecticut. The three slices of carrots were decent thought there should be more. Crab cake could have been warmer as well as the lobster mac n cheese. The whoppie pie was typical New England fashion. Not like Mom made but close. It's a good place to try and see for yourself but expect a hefty bill. read more

Best fish we've ever had in Omaha, NE. I am blown away by Sand Point! The basted salmon was perfection. The Yukon gold mashed potatoes and broccolini were also wonderful. Spinach salad with warm red pepper and bacon vinaigrette and butterflied shrimp? Must order. I can't sing the praises enough of the qualify and flavor of their food. We were looking forward to trying this place. Very friendly service. We found the portions to be underwhelming. My husband had the poached cod, which he enjoyed. The small saucer style bowl of carrots left us asking where the rest of the order was. My tuna sandwich was perfectly seared but very small. Lobster arancini had a nice presentation but not much taste. At the end, they are new and getting started. They need some tweaks. Be ready for a hefty bill. read more

I was quite disappointed in the food. The *service* was lovely, super nice people. The food, however, left a lot to be desired. The 3 stars is *because* the service was so good. The food was 2 stars. I'm from the east coast originally, so I've had lobster rolls before (albeit in Baltimore and Key West). For the price tag, the one I got there was puny and rubbery. The lobster tasted previously frozen and overcooked. It was also served in a piece of simple white bread. When I mentioned this, I was told that's the proper way, and true, I've never had one in Maine. But I came home and looked it up ... and no, virtually every recipe or image I saw had it in, you know, a toasted *roll* (hence the name)--which is how I've always had it before. It was definitely not worth the price tag; if it's mediocre food, at least make up in quantity what it lacks in quality. I felt gypped on both. I will give top marks for the mushroom risotto; that was divine. I left disappointed...and still hungry. The fact the place was almost empty at 7pm on a Saturday night should have been a warning. Will not recommend. WAY overpriced for what you get. read more

I've never had a Lobster Roll before, always had lobster as an entree, expected just a sandwich. It was Connecticut style, absolutely fabulous and was not just a sandwich. Same layout as Jack n Mary's but updated very nicely! Service was very good and the manager (or owner?) stopped in to check on us a couple times. Nice menu. We had the doz oysters on the half shell. Very fresh. The only negative was the tuna on the appetizer special was bland. The lobster bisque was AMAZING! We had the swordfish special and it was delicious, and such a pretty plate. The beet sauce on the fish was to die for. Fish was well seasoned and moist! The dessert was yummy! There were two of us and we split all this, plenty of food! We will be back, lots on the menu we want to try and sounds like they rotate a nice special menu. Nice looking bar area, would be great to grab a drink after work . We had crab cakes and barramundi and both were made well, although my companion thought the cakes could have used more seasoning. Lovely, attentive service. Delicious food. Crab cake is unusual but tasty. It's not pan fried like other crab cakes I've eaten. There were three of us at dinner and we ordered the swordfish, halibut and salmon dinners. All of the fish and the sides were very good. We will definitely come back to the restaurant to try the other food on the menu. read more

Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad service. Took 50 minutes after putting our order in to get our drinks (soda and a glass of wine) and another 45 to get our food. There were times when NONE of the 4 servers were on the floor at all. No one ever bothered to update us about anything ever. When we did manage to flag someone down for an update we got a million excuses, none of which made logical sense. Lobster roll was yummy but had MAYBE 1.5 tablespoons of lobster on it - not worth the $25 price tag. Left a 15% tip b/c I'm not a jerk but that was 15% more than they deserved. Staff extremely charming! One of the owners was there ! Extremely nice!! Ordered Specifically what I came in first a bisque crab or lobster and a good lobster dish! Ordered crab bisque was served not hot no crab pieces! Lobster roll was flavorful but lobster pieces were cold and buttered roll was semi warm 25$ was disappointed 8.50 soup disappointed prices reasonable!! Full disclosure, my daughter and son-in-law are two of the owners of this restaurant. I was in Omaha for a family visit, and it was my first opportunity to experience Sand Point. I was very impressed by the décor, the food, and the service. I was able to sample the lobster bisque, clam chowder, and the calamari before our entrees were served. The bisque was fantastic, and the shot of sherry helped bring out the savory flavor even more. The calamari was the best I've had anywhere. It was tender and cooked to perfection. The sauce was sweet and spicy and the perfect complement. My entrée was the bistro steak. It was very flavorful and tender. We were given the opportunity to sample several of the desserts, all of which were very tasty, but the apple crisp was my favorite! Our waitress Sarah was the best part of our meal. Clam strip appetizers were not bad. Our food was very late in arriving. Probably due to being new. When our food did arrive, they only brought one of the plates. The clam chowder had almost no clams and would make an excellent leek soup. The crab cakes were full of mayonnaise. As a New Englander, I wasn't disappointed. I'd had the lobster rolls from the Three Kids Lobster truck, so I knew the inspiration was spot on. Had the crab cake appetizer, which was wonderfully delicate and browned perfectly. For my meal, I had the Sherry's house salad with a side of lobster. It was dressed just perfectly, not swimming in dressing. My dinner buddy opted for the burger and truffle fries, so you're good-to-go if you're not a seafood person. The service was attentive, patient, and friendly. The ambiance and decor were outstanding. You don't feel like you're sitting on top of one another and couldn't hear the conversations of your neighbors. The place is fresh, clean, and the decor is outstanding. Love the coral seating. We went for a quick lunch today. We both had a drink (I ordered a white wine and he had an IPA). We shared the clam strips and they were very good. I really liked how they were served with two different sauces. We then each had a cup of soup. It is not a cup! For $5 it is quite a large portion! I had the lobster bisque and he had the clam chowder. Both were good but the lobster bisque was exceptional. I did use the little crackers that came with the chowder as I like some crunch. It was phenomenal. I highly recommend. We were full at that point. We look forward to going back and trying the rest of the menu. read more

The service was good and the food was mediocre. The lobster risotto which was $40 and supposedly chock full of lobster had a piece on top. First time last night and we were not disappointed with our food. I had the Lobster Bisque which was spot on with a shot of Sherry at serving. The Lobster roll with coleslaw was my main dish. Kinda small sandwich but big chunks of Lobster that were fresh and chilled perfectly. Coleslaw lacked depth and I had to add a lot of salt to get any flavor out of it. Had lunch today, first time customer. Very nice clean place and friendly responsive staff! The food was "excellent"!! We tried both the lobster bisque and clam chowder soups which were sooo good!! For entree's we had the Beef Dip Sandwich (omg, best ever!!!!!!) and an Open Faced Seared Tuna sandwich (omg. 5 star!!!!). And since my wife and I are both retired, we had an Elderberry Old Fashioned which was superb!! We highly recommend! read more

We went on a Friday night and the restaurant was not very busy. We arrived at 6:30pm and left at 9pm...2 adults, 1 appetizer, 2 entrees. There was only one waiter working (Devon) and he said he was also the bartender. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks (2 glasses of wine). Devon apologized for the delay. We ordered the lobster arancini and were told he'd come back to take our entree orders after awhile to give the kitchen time to catch up. I've never had this experience at a restaurant. The arancini was bland and there was one small morsel of lobster. The sauce that came with it was good. We were asked if we wanted more wine. We did, but this time it took another 30 minutes. We finally got to order our entrees (flank steak and swordfish). It took almost 45 minutes for the entrees to come out. Devon again apologized profusely and offered to buy us dessert or another round of drinks, we declined. At this time a second waitress started working the dining room as well. Flank steak was good, but we were surprised that it was such a small portion for the price. The swordfish was very overcooked and inedible. The owner offered to comp one of our drinks, which we thought was strange, because for a $30 dish, we thought it would at least get comped 50% since only 1 bite was eaten. The one positive about our dinner was Devon. You can tell he takes pride in his work and cares about his customers. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. read more

Wow! You have to try this restaurant!. Sand Point on 114th Dodge. Heard about it from Chuck Yates on the Boomer channel. Chuck, you were right! Food, service, ambiance, all 5 out of 5 stars. Started with a house speciality drink Cape Cod'r, recommended by our server Janessa. Light, fruity, delicious. I ordered salmon. Cooked perfectly with a hazelnut pepita crust. Broccolini, a beet emulsion that blended perfectly with the root purée. The root purée looked like mashed potatoes in a way but much lighter. I also tried the brussel sprouts with balsamic, and a craisin/almond mix. The best I've ever had. My husband had the Lobster Risotto. Cooked perfectly and delicious. He had no leftovers! Bonnie, one of the owners stopped by to see how everything was which was a nice touch. Janessa, our server was outstanding. We'll be requesting her next time. We will be returning soon with friends. Tried this place out for our grandparents anniversary. We had a party of 11. Upon arriving we were put in the "party room " and sat there for at least 30 minutes before anyone came to greet us and take any drink orders. We placed drinks and apps and it was another 30 before we got them. We finally ordered dinner and after 45 minutes the food kind of arrived. Three of our people did not get their food for another 30 minutes and one person received part of their order because the kitchen needed to make more rice. On top of super slow service the food lacked flavor across the board. We did complain to the Owner/Manager and were told they were doing the best they could. We spent almost $700 and they fell short on everything. I would warn anyone to go there. The food and service was the worst I have ever ever experienced read more

We made reservations for 6:30 on a Saturday night. The hostess had a hard time determining where to seat us but was very pleasant and informed us about the specials. The waiter, LT, served us water and went off to wait on other tables. Five more groups came in after we did and 20 minutes later, LT came to take the order of a group that came in 10 minutes after we did.
