Add this to your HH list! Went with a group of 6 as the girls night spot of the month and we were all blown away by the appetizers! While we did not actually come during happy hour, we all agreed we would be back for the food. I think it was a tie between the crying crackers and ahi nachos with brussels closely behind. Do wish the nachos had a little more ahi though as it seemed a little skimpy. With a total of 6 apps split we had the perfect amount that entrees weren't needed. Split a couple bottles of Airfield Sauv, the perfect crisp, barely sweet white wine and immediately looked up where we could buy it. A casual place to grab a bite and a few drinks! We had the brut for the table, it was good, nothing super special about it but it was nice. We had a soup, the tomato pepper bisque. It was LOVELY!!!! I do wish the side was a bread and not a cracker, the soup itself was so flavorful and a cup is more than enough for one person. It was by far my favorite thing! We shared the mahimahi, it was good! We got it because it's "mochi crusted" and it was a fun dish! I think there was too much vinaigrette on top and it drowned out the fish but it was good. The Brussel sprouts were great on the side and the somen noodles that they use as a base were well chosen for the dish. Overall very nice place to go if you want a nice bite and good drinks, don't feel like you have to dress up to go. It's a tad pricey but the happy hour seems worth a try if price is a factor for you. read more

As close to a perfect dining experience as I've ever come in Omaha. I hadn't been in here since their expansion/renovation. I remembered the food being good but it felt crowded and loud. The new expanded dining area allowed for a more private dining feeling. Nikki our server was too notch in knowledge of the menu and attentiveness. Started with Hot Popovers with apple butter. These were light, flaky and a perfect bread course to wake your palate. Next up was the Whidbey Islamd Shrimp. The combination of like-jalapeño dressing, fresh shrimp and tart grapefruit was very refreshing. You may notice I didn't get photos of the appetizers. Frankly, I was too busy devouring them to touch my phone... Main course was the Wild Halibut with olive tapenade and a seared Ribeye with Twisted steak rib and a spicy dipping sauce. Both were prepared perfectly. The halibut was some of the best I've had. The spicy dipping sauce for the ribeye I was on the fence about, but I kept dipping my steak in it for every bite. It was unique but on reflection I can now state that it was awesome. Highly recommend and I will be back soon! read more

we really enjoyed our experience here! The atmosphere was nice but cozy. Service was attentive and quick and the food was delicious! We started with the Ahi tuna nachos which was very flavorful. The tuna felt fresh and the sauce on top was so yummy! We also got the crab pot which was much more filling than I expected and the sauce was incredible, I was wishing I wasn't so full so I could continue to dip bread into it. It was also a nice touch that they semi precracked the crab for you. We also got the prairie fire steak which was cooked to perfection and seasoned so well. The cocktail I got wasn't outstanding and had too much ice but there were several other cocktails on the menu that looked very good and will have to try next time. My wife and visited twisted cork over our lunch hour. We were seated right away. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. I ordered the Piedmontese roast beef sandwich with corn chowder and my wife ordered the Reuben with the tomato red pepper bisque. My beef sandwich was well seasoned and tasted great. My issue was it was difficult to pick up and eat. The bread was too thin and fell apart when i picked it up . The corn chowder was very tasty. My wife enjoyed her Reuben. Her soup was too hot to eat right away. The bisque was mediocre when it finally cooled down enough to eat. The server was pretty good . It was $47 before tip for two soup and sandwich meals. Very popular restaurant so make a reservation. It was a little drafty and cold so we left our coats on. Ambiance was nice. We started with the popovers. You receive two popovers and some excellent apple butter. The popovers are served cold. Warm would have been so much better. We tried the Seattle Cioppino and the Hot Pot Rice Bowl. Both were very good. The sauce of the Cioppino had a fresh tomato taste. It would have been nice with some grilled bread. And the Hot Pot had Black Cod (Sablefish), which is nice to see on menus. We split the cookie and ice cream for dessert. It's not very big but we were pretty full after the meal. Service was okay. read more

Twisted cork is a chain of some of my absolute favorite restaurants in Omaha like Pacific eating House and Pine and black -- I love this chain so much I pretty much only eat at these places when I go out because I love the quality of the food and the standards they set! They prioritize fresh caught fish, sourcing from the best places whether that be Hawaii or Seattle, they get local beef and cook their food and coconut oil instead of hydrogenated seed oils... say no more, you have my heart FOOD : I typically get the same thing when I come but this time around I went for some thing different, I got the island green. The fish was absolutely delicious, so fresh and tasted so light and refreshing. I really liked the bed of vegetables it was on, however, the sauce that it was all in was a bit too much for me. Had they use the last of the sauce or none of it, I honestly probably would've loved the dish and kept it as a staple but unfortunately the sauce just didn't make my stomach super happy. I was pleased with the ingredients and the fish overall, so it didn't put a sour taste in my mouth for this restaurant by any means. I always get the house salad because it's absolutely delicious, like I said the greens are always fresh and any produce they use is top-of-the-line. My sister got the tomato soup and said it was delicious and my mom also loved her plate! You really can't go wrong with anything you get here, but I will always recommend getting the fish because it is probably the best fish you can get in the Midwest. SERVICE / ATMOSPHERE : this is a beautiful place to come, they always keep it clean and it's a relaxed environment. I have never been to any of their restaurants and been disappointed in the service, everyone who serves always has a smile on their face, talk about how much THEY Love the food, and that speaks volumes to me! 10 out of 10 service always. TIPS : like I said, if you're going to come you should definitely get the seafood since the quality is so great. I will say, the burgers are top-notch and if you come during happy hour you can get some incredible deals for pricing on such quality food! read more

I really wanted to like this place and I had it on my list for a while to try, but unfortunately it just wasn't that great. We had excellent service though, I will say that. We had a very engaging server, all the other people that helped drop off dishes or clear things were very friendly and funny. So we had a nice experience there. But the food was underwhelming. We ordered the Oregon cheeseboard to start, which I thought was a little over priced but tasty. We liked all three cheeses, the jam was piquant and fruity, and I also enjoyed the pecans. I ordered a teriyaki dish and the teriyaki chicken was good but really really salty. I expect there to be a strong level of salt given that it's teriyaki sauce, but this was a bit overwhelming. It also came with rice and about half the greens I wanted. I ended up just mixing the dish together and it would've been nice to have more greens. I guess it's not a salad... Not exactly sure what it is. Anyways it just wasn't the greatest. My dining companion loved her salmon, though. She said the corn tasted good with it. Some hits, some misses, but the food just didn't hit the mark. read more

Fantastic birthday dinner celebrated at Twisted Cork! Cannot believe we've never been here before, it was absolutely DELICIOUS! I got the Scallops and couldn't stop raving about the whole dish- the brussel sprouts? OMG so good!!! The rest of my family loved their dishes as well. Our server Lindy was super sweet and accommodating! I enjoyed the set up of the space, it never seemed to get too loud which was nice. This is one of the best dinners we have had in quite awhile. We absolutely recommend starting with a popover. Simply the best we have ever had. I had the roaster tomato soup that was really good, but the star of the evening were the miso salmon tacos. Wow. I was not expecting to find this in the middle of the country. The entry isn't the easiest to identify. Who doesn't put the establishment's name on the door? Parking was exciting as well, prepare yourself. The Oregon tuna melt was like nothing I have ever had, warm and smooth on a light ciabatta bread with some decent chips and a bland boring slaw. The slaw was made from super fresh veggies and some chunks of blue cheese, to me it was just kinda bland. I'm a slaw lover and am willing to try it again. The other dish I witnessed and sampled was the Ahi Poke bowl. Man O Man what a flavor explosion. Lots of greens, amazing tasting greens. At first we thought that the tuna portion was small. After a few bites of the delicious rice and greens we soon realized it was a perfect portion of everything and definitely worth getting again. We had a bowl of Corn Chowder as well and while it is more like a chili than a chowder it was PHENOMENOL . It was amazing, try the corn chowder. Our small elevated table wobbled something terrible and it was annoying. Several other tables did as well. Our server seemed extremely uninformed and aloof. She did attempt to make the Winter 'Tini and wasn't sure of herself. I am gonna pass on another lunch time meal here for a bit and maybe try the dinner atmosphere next time read more

Well I was waiting in anticipation for one of my favorite restaurants to reopen. Alas I went and was deeply disappointed. Sat at the bar and was almost completely ignored. Ordered chips with goat cheese and to my disappointment the homemade chips were soggy or stale not sure which. Ordered the scallops with brussels sprouts withcitrus rice. I am a huge scallop lover and they were fishy and not even edible to be honest. I ate one of three. The citrus rice was mushy and had it not been for the sauce I took from the Brussels and cauliflower Mac appetizer to spread over would have been tasteless. My wife and I come in almost every week and sit at the bar. As a result, we've gotten to know restaurant manager / bartender Jennie. She's an engaging and excellent host, and after just a couple of visits, she anticipated our needs based on our past preferences - knowing our favorite wine and mixed drink. This is exactly what we look for in a non-chain restaurant - personal attention delivered with genuine thoughtfulness and care. We've found the greet staff and other waiters/waitresses that Jennie manages to be equally attentive. Obviously, there's one thing that's even more important than great service - and that's great food. Twisted Cork Bistro has that in spades - over the year and a half that we've been coming here, we've tried nearly every dish - and they are all winners. Of course, we both have our favorites - my wife really loves the Mahi Mahi and the Sea Scallops. I'm a big fan of the Prairie Fire and Hawaiian Ahi. The Bison steak is also over-the-top amazing. The key to most of their dishes is top-notch ingredients and really creative sauce and spice pairings. And speaking of pairings, if you're a wine fan, and you've always wanted to try wines from the Northwest, the selection here of reds and whites at every price point can't be beat. We moved from Newport Beach in Southern California, where there are any number of amazing restaurants, especially those that serve sea food. The owners are former Seattle, Washington restaurateurs who relocated to Omaha - and they have all their seafood flown in from either the West Coast or Hawaii every 24 hours, so have no doubt about freshness! Their meat offerings feature the best locally grown beef and bison. Their small bites are equally amazing, and they have a nice abbreviated happy hour menu that will let you get in and out with a great filling meal on a budget. Visited the Twisted Cork Bistro for lunch with a business partner. This was a lovely location which seemed well suited for a business lunch. I observed a few other tables discussing business over their lunch hour. The atmosphere was quiet, but comfortable. The first thing I noticed was they do not have the traditional soft drinks restaurants generally have. If you are a Diet Coke fan, you will have to choose an alternative. There was only one Diet option, which was a clear soft drink. I generally drink water, which I had to request refills for. The wait staff was pleasant, but possibly just really busy. The menu was very creative in a good way. I asked for suggestions between the choices I picked. The waitress was helpful and I chose the Spicy chicken Tacos. These were a great choice. Do not let the term spicy prevent you from ordering these. They were not overly spicy. The only disappointing part of the meal was the choice to used canned jalapeños instead of fresh. That one change would have moved my rating higher, as you are all reading this to see how the food is. There is just something about a fresh jalapeño that can bring a dish to life. For those of you who would have picked the jalapeños off, consider the food a five. The apple slaw was a perfect addition to the tacos, and the saracha drizzle added some depth to the bite. OMG, I'm in heaven after tonight's dinner at The Twisted Cork. I love the Pacific Northwest essence here, and I found the most delicious -- and affordable -- white wine: Foris Pinot Blanc. I haven't found it anywhere else, so it's just one of the reasons I return time and again. This evening, I had scallops, accompanied by roasted brussels sprouts and a small scoop of rice. The scallops were topped with a hazelnut garnish, which added a delightful crunch. My partner had delicious cioppino, with scallops, shrimp, mussels, salmon and accompanying french bread. The sauce was more than a little spicy, and very reminiscent of East Coast marinara. Sadly, dessert was less than optimal, but theres no denying the deliciousness of our main courses. A nice little salad might have been good. I'll try that next time. I can't wait to go back! read more

The wife and I have started a new Friday night dinner tradition called secret dinner night. Each week we alternate choosing a new place to eat... On one particular night she selected the Twisted Cork Bistro for dinner. Neither of us had been here before so it sounded like a fun adventure. We had reservations but didn't need them since it was around 7 pm, there appeared to be tables available. The webbing was a bit loud and the seating was a little cramped, but the food was excellent. I had the Hawaiian Ahi Tuna with teriyaki ginger drizzle over citrus rice, Asian greens and a miso sesame peanut vinaigrette to die for, and my wife had the Northwest Duet, which consisted of a piece of salmon and a piece of wild halibut on a bed of citrus rice with grilled asparagus. Both meals were delicious. My tuna was melt in your mouth tender, and her fish was cooked to perfection. The price was a bit on the higher side, but the food quality, freshness, and flavors were well worth the price. Another go back for seconds location for us, there is a fifgy chicken that is intriguing that I want to try the next time we go there. read more
