    House Charcuterie
    Sarah P.

I recently visited the Boiler Room with my family and had an excellent time. Being able to watch the open kitchen from the upper seating area while dining was a very cool experience. Our waiter was kind and attentive, despite us being sat in the back corner. Onto the food - it was all delicious. The emphasis on local raised meat elevates the house charcuterie board and the pork belly appetizer was fought over until the last bite. For a main, I had the venison, which was perfectly cooked and tender and the sides complimented it very well. I cannot wait to come back for another special occasion!

Stopped by Boiler Room before dinner for a Butterbeer and it was so good. The staff was super nice and they were doing music bingo, which was so fun. I would love to come back and try more sometime

Wow, this restaurant is so unique and the food is amazing. It doesn't look like much on the outside. It's in a run-down industrial brick building. When you walk in, it's an amazing space with an open layout and you can see the kitchen right away. I got seated right above where the chef plates food. It was hot being above the stoves, but what an amazing experience! The food was amazing and I've never been to a restaurant where I can watch them cook and plate all the dishes. Highly recommend!

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Omaha! The atmosphere, the service and specially the food are amazing! My wife and I went there for our anniversary and we were seated at a table surrounded by wine that made the experience very intimate and romantic. The waitress was funny and answered every questions we had. Overall it was an amazing by experience that I can't wait to do it again!

Wow I was so impressed with the food here. Absolutely delicious! A great place to treat yourself to a nice fancy meal or a great date night spot. Great service and I loved how everything was fresh. They also have great drink options as well. Our waitress was friendly and also had great recommendations. She definitely knew what she was talking about and answered all of our questions.

Very romantic place and matches its name BOILER ROOM!! and the seating is very cool, overlooks the chefs and kitchen area! Received complimentary champagne for our anniversary! The wagyu beef tartare was yum!! Tasted almost like pâté! The venison was paired so well with the sweet potatoes and everyone else on the plate. The pairings that came with the Wagyu sirloin steak was a bit salty, but steak was cooked to medium just perfectly. The dessert... not usually a big cherry person but the spiced cake was interesting and was so good with the ice cream and milk crumb! Service was nice and helpful when it came to helping with choosing wines to pair w our meals! Expensive, but so worth a try for a special date night!!

A wonderful restaurant for all occasions. We have been here a number of times before and always enjoy a special meal. Tim Nicholson of The Boiler Room is a nominee for Best Chef: Midwest as part of the 2024 James Beard Awards and well deserved. After years of street construction parking access to the restaurant is much easier. You actually enter the restaurant at street level which is the upper level dining area. The restaurant includes a party room and a wonderful viewing of the bar and area from upstairs. Downstairs offers additional seating. Tastefully restored the restaurant has a modern vibe with preservation of the historic structure. Service is always premium at this restaurant and it did not fail today. The food selections were wonderful and all top quality. While a little pricier than some area restaurants, it's truly worth the treat. Nearly everything served is made in house from bread to charcuterie, sides and attention to detail is obvious.

They do not offer military discount. Food was okay nothing to die for, but the service was very nice and welcoming. I did a split for the short rib with my friend so they charged us slightly higher for the more veggies but that is the size of the split. I also had the blackberry sage mocktail, it was also good. The charcuterie, the olives, the ceviche was ok but needed way more citrus.

Perfect service, perfect table where I could see chef doing all the plating including my own dishes! The dishes I ordered were all beautifully plated and tasted amazing. I loved the crispy seafood croquettes, the tomatoes with the burrata and basil pistou, and the chicken terrine with the cornbread and pickled okra were also fantastic! The chef kindly delivered my check with an ube macaron. It was such a nice experience! I love this restaurant because of the old brick and interesting art with the view down into the kitchen. I'll always be back here whenever possible.

Ambience- The place was very cozy and inviting and a nice set up for a date night or dinner with a small group. It was a mix of rustic with modern touches. Very elegant overall without being too stuffy. Food- the food was overall very good. The starters were unique both in texture, taste and presentation and we thoroughly enjoyed each item we tried. For the main courses, all of our meat was cooked to perfection and the dishes were all beautifully plated. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and of good quality and the dishes were overall very flavorful and well balanced both in taste and texture. I would happily order any of the items we tried again. The food came in a reasonable time. The cocktails were good but I wouldn't come here just for the drinks. Service - unfortunately this is the area that lost points from us. I feel as if I could not rate the restaurant higher than 3 stars solely due to the poor service we received. Our server was nice and pleasant however had absolutely no insight into virtually any item on the menu. We asked about taste and descriptions of a variety of cocktails, appetizers, and meal items and the common answers we received was "i'm not sure" or "i don't know I haven't tried that" or " I don't eat or drink xyz so I couldn't tell you". They were not even sure what was on the menu that evening and at one point we were reading the menu together. I understand the menu changes and i don't expect a server to know every detail or every item but I expect a restaurant of its caliber and price point to have servers who can provide at least a small amount of insight into the menu items and provide better answers than "i'm not sure". I have received better service at diners. This place was pricey but overall we did enjoy the food. I would return at least one more time and think it's worth trying at least once.

I can't believe it took me this long to get here, but I finally did! I was lucky enough to be treated by a friend for a pre-birthday dinner. We were seated upstairs, which was just perfect so I could watch the kitchen and how it operates. We had an absolutely fantastic dinner and service was impeccable. We had the scallop Crudo as an appetizer . I had the halibut and my friend ordered the swordfish for entrées. After my experience, I can understand why chef is up for James Beard award! My only regret is waiting so long to get here.

The space is cool and good wine selection. My dessert was the best part of the meal! It was like a huge macaroon stuffed with goodness. Husbands steak was amazing and cooked perfectly. Just not sure it's worth $300 for the 2 of us. Had a couple of beers, a glass of wine, one appetizer, two entrées and two desserts.

I came here for my husband's birthday. I like that they did not show any intent of rushing us out of the restaurant, especially since we were the last customers. Even though it was past closing hours, they still offered us dessert.

We started with the pork momo. We've had these before and they're always a great choice. The filling was rich and flavorful, the dumpling dough was perfectly chewy and the dipping sauces added another level of depth and flavor. For mains we split the duck breast and the tagliatelle. The duck was cooked perfectly and the bok choy that came with it added a perfect amount of crunch and mustard flavor. The tagliatelle was rich and the variety of mushrooms in the sauce added so much umami. We look forward to returning!

If you live here, well then, lucky you! Our servers carefully detailed the menu and let us taste a new wine prior to ordering. The dinner service manager is knowledgeable and passionate about the dining experience. When we ordered the radicchio salad, I was skeptical that it would be bitter, but was curious to try it. My husband and I could have fought over it--it was that good! The cauliflower was roasted perfectly, and sat upon a sweet and spice infused puree called mahummara with crunchy pine nuts. The complexity of spices compelled us to try another bite, and then another... Roasted carrots are tender and sweet. Paired with cool yogurt and chili crunch, they ascend into another level of deliciousness. A tear of fresh bread across bits of remaining sauce, and then (not a minute sooner) "we are satiated, thank you!" and the server can take the plate. The restaurant is adjacent to a theater that shows unique offerings and they will sometimes coordinate events with menus. We liked the simple cafe style tables and openness. The drinks here are always beautifully crafted and well-balanced, with a lot of thought behind the presentation and flavor combinations. My only complaint (and it's a small but sad one) is that they no longer serve entrées. I miss when Mercury had a full food menu -- their pasta and burger were truly underrated. These days, you'll only find light bar snacks, which pair well with the cocktails but don't quite replace a meal. Still, for creative cocktails, a stylish atmosphere, and great service, Mercury remains one of the best spots downtown.
