Light dinner tonight. Did the clam chowder and salad.. clam chowder is super delicious and the salad is great. I've never had a bad meal at Spencer's for Steaks and Chops. Service at the bar was great. Never bad service by the bartender here. The ambiance is pretty fancy inside but can get away with business casual attire. Highly recommend

The staff here is what truly made my experience at Spencer's one that'll keep me coming back for more! We sat at the bar and had the time of our lives talking to the bartender and waiters. The drinks were also fantastic and the food was mediocre but for the price and "steakhouse" ambiance well worth it!! We were intimidated at first but luckily we did not have to break the bank on this fancy girls night out on the town. Highly recommend if you wanna be taken care of and served quality goods.

I went to Spencer's right around closing time as I was staying in the hotel upstairs and needed something to tide me over until the morning. This place is a classic steakhouse, big wooden booths with mahogany colored seats, lower lighting, black and white photos on the wall. It felt very Omaha. I ended up just ordering some fries and some red wine followed by some ice cream (weird combo I know but it's what my heart wanted!). The fries were PERFECT; I'm a sucker for a good shoestring and these did not disappoint. The wine list is really great as well with plenty of options by the glass. Despite it being toward the end of the night, the service was still really prompt and friendly. They have a great bar area which was nice and quiet and away from the larger parties in the dining room. I ended up chatting with another guest at the hotel for awhile and all in all it had a great atmosphere.

Love Omaha. Was in town for literally a short night. Got to the hotel around 7:30 pm and knew I wanted some food. Walked by Spencer's and it looked like a place I wanted to try.. Sat at the bar and was warmly greeted with a water and a menu. Decided on the Mussels and a chopped salad. And a cocktail. Food was wonderful. They close at 9 pm and I never felt rushed. I was offered last call and was able to enjoy my food. I will return to try dinner next time I'm in town.

Service | Sweet Potato Fries | Roasted Chicken Service - Monica and I spent our 1 year paper wedding anniversary at Spencer's. We are very happy we did. Mike was our waiter he was AMAZING. very knowledgeable about the menu, wine pairings, and how Spencer's stacks up against other steakhouses in town. Overall, the service was top-notch and you won't find better. Sweet Potato Fries - We had the Sweet Potato Fries as a pseudo appetizer for our meal. Each meal comes with a salad that is pretty filling. However, whenever Monica and I see Sweet Potato Fries on a menu, we have to try them. These were really good. Their honey/cinnamon flavor is surprisingly delicious. The only downside was the Ketchup. In retrospect, I wish we would have ordered BBQ sauce. We ended up eating the fries without the Ketchup because they were better without Ketchup than with Ketchup. Roasted Chicken - I had the Roasted Chicken for my meal. It was great. I highly recommend it. It was tender, filling, and tangy. The glaze that comes over the chicken gives it a memorable taste that will make you consume all of it and ask for more. The chicken comes with a medley of carrots, Brussel sprouts, and another meat (that I cannot remember its name). The medley is good and is a great complement to the chicken. Pro Tip: Whenever ordering fries, get their BBQ sauce not their ketchup. Their Ketchup isn't that great. Pro Tip: Not a lot of parking around the restaurant, therefore you want to grab an uber or give yourself an extra 5-10 minutes for parking.

Night out for our one year anniversary

Wow, this place. We came here for our one year anniversary and could not have made a better decision. They sat us in a private booth that was cozy and intimate. The music was jazzy, and our waiter Michael was AMAZING. So helpful in pairing a wine to the dish I wanted, and gave us some fun recommendations for music festivals! The salmon was tender and paired perfectly with the white white and risotto. We also ordered the spicy sweet potato fries, which as a stand alone was a huge serving and actually seasoned so well it didn't even need the chipotle ketchup. The surprise of this meal was 100% the house salad that's complementary with the meal. The champagne vinaigrette steals the show and the toppings knock it out of the park. The restaurant also gave us a free "happy anniversary" dessert, which was a flourless chocolate cake. Super rich and thick, we couldn't finish it. But it was very good!

    Apple cider old fashioned

Came here on a Saturday at 4pm right when the bar opened for happy hour. I ordered an apple cider old fashioned which was nice and sweet and came with a slice of dried apple. For dinner, I ordered the steak frites, cooked medium. The steak was super tender and flavorful even for the cheaper option. They asked to cut the steak in the middle right when you get it to make sure it's cooked right for you. There were tons of fries with a garlic aioli. The steak was also covered in a Bearnaise sauce that was great with a bunch of cracked black pepper in it. It was tons of food for a good price. All the other steaks were way more expensive, but the steak frites hit the spot for me.

While we had a good meal, I don't know that it was a great meal and for what it cost for two people to have an appetizer, two mains, and one of the least expensive bottles of wine ($300), I expected more. The steak carpaccio as an appetizer was incredible. Our bottle of wine was quite good, as were our waiter's other wine recommendations, although I did feel like our waiter kept trying to upsell us to another bottle of wine. Now to the main course: the steaks. While they were well cooked to our temperature requests, they didn't knock my socks off, which is sort of what you expect from an establishment like this. I may give Spencer's another try, but overall just felt like it was an average, not incredible, dinner.

Ignored. Waited and waited. Ordered the meatloaf, instead was served a steak. Not what I expect for a high-end steakhouse.

We started with the pork momo. We've had these before and they're always a great choice. The filling was rich and flavorful, the dumpling dough was perfectly chewy and the dipping sauces added another level of depth and flavor. For mains we split the duck breast and the tagliatelle. The duck was cooked perfectly and the bok choy that came with it added a perfect amount of crunch and mustard flavor. The tagliatelle was rich and the variety of mushrooms in the sauce added so much umami. We look forward to returning!

That all changed last night and it was beyond my wildest dreams. You arrive to a beautiful, semi-rustic open kitchen/bar concept and warm people who sat us at the coveted kitchen-view table (note, it gets warm--I love this). We shared the Valentine's menu; two starters, two entrees, and two dessert options resulted in us trying one of everything. The starters: Crudo--our surprising favorite--contained buttery yet tart scallops we couldn't shut up about, and fresh made tortellini in a rich red pepper sauce we were spooning out at the end. The entrees: a perfectly cooked crusted, yet tender steak with alarmingly good seasoned hasselback fingerling potatoes, and tender swordfish on a bed of creamy cous cous. The dessert: tart lemon mousse cake was a refreshing end, and a dark chocolate, caramel dish with chantilly I was adding to everything. I had a glass of brut champagne with the dinner and it acted a good cleanser between the numerous tastes but my date had the wine pairing, and that too, complimented everything perfectly. Right mix of acid, salt and sweetness.

Regardless, staff was kind and prompt, the place was clean and well staffed, food appeared quickly, and staff stayed on top of their work. *The appetizer was not my favorite/my dates favorite. Service set the tone right away -- our waitress was clearly in a bad mood and not pleasant at all. No energy, no effort, just going through the motions. Food timing was messy. Five people got their meals way before mine showed up, and overall everything took way too long coming out of the kitchen. I ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich. It wasn't terrible, but definitely not good either. The chicken tasted more boiled than anything, and the only "heat" came from what seemed like a heavy dose of Tabasco rather than actual flavor. We also got fried pickles as an appetizer -- those were just bad. Undercooked, soggy, and honestly looked unappetizing. The rest of the table felt the same -- food was just so-so across the board. Nothing memorable. Only highlight? The sweet potato fries were actually pretty good. Oh and the decor was ok. Overall, between the service, timing, and mediocre food, not a place I'd go back to.
