Made a Friday 6 p.m. reservation - promptly seated. Our server was very attentive throughout our visit and very pleasant. Started with Traditional Bruschetta. Presentation was very nice, tasted exceptional mirroring menu description. We both had a craving for linguine and clams and ordered Sopresine and Clams. Very mmeh. Clams were definitely 'baby'. Pasta was somewhat al dente (probably by design), and the dish was underwhelming. It was a decent experience and might give it a run in the future. read more

We had dinner last Saturday night for my wife's birthday - both had the salmon and split a caesar salad. The salmon was the best in town and caesar salad was excellent as well. The restaurant then provided a desert for my wife's birthday - she selected a 7 layer lemon/raspberry tort and it was fantastic. Service was very good as well. We've had some hit or miss experiences here lately...this was a miss. To begin, take out times are already long (40-45 mins) and they are ALWAYS 10-15 minutes behind, which is frustrating. The focaccia with honey ricotta was delicious as always. My cacio e pepe was good not great. But my husband's carbonara was bad. To start, rigatoni is a poor choice for carbonara. We just got back from Italy and ate an obscene amount of carbonara, and none of it was rigatoni. Second, the sauce was basically pure egg. It was liquidy instead of creamy and missing the richness of the cheese. And third, the pancetta was very odd. The pieces were way too big, and several were more like steak than pancetta. I also think an Italian restaurant that considers itself to be upscale should be using guanciale for their carbonara, but that's just a personal opinion. read more

Wow! What a great spot! It's been on our list to go to for a while, but living in Bellevue this was a 35 minute drive for us! But wow! I'm still dreaming of the food and that drive isn't so taunting anymore! They do take reservations, and they have very easy parking, and indoor & outdoor seating! Our server was amazing, really talked us through the menu and knew what she was talking about! Everything was DELICIOUS, do not skip out on the bread service and the burrata & fried dough app! It was a great spot, clean, cute, and nice nice. Everything at Circo was amazing. The food.. the fried burrata is something that I keep thinking about. My wife's meal came with bread with this spread that was shockingly very good. Has a little sweetness to it that I wish I had more of. My burger was slightly burnt on the outside. Otherwise was pretty good. The chips were salty but my preference is salty chips so I'm all for it. The biggest plus was the service. I would say our server was probably the happiest and loved her job waitress that I think I have had. Wish I remembered her name but she was incredible. Would love to come back and try more of the items on the menu. They also have a speakeasy called the Tarot room with great vibes and a wide array of drinks both alcoholic and non. Decided to try this place tonight after a referral from a friend. Made reservations and got right in even though we were there 20 minutes early. My first impression was that it was a jazzed up sports bar, I realize it was a Tanners previously, but not as upscale as I was hoping. Lots of TVs around and your typical orange booths that just reminded me of a typical sports bar. Our server, Clara, greeted us immediately after seating, was super nice and cheerful, told us about the specials and got our drink order. I ordered the crispy Atlantic salmon, (a friend recommended), and my husband got the Tagliatelle di Mare. Both dishes arrived piping hot and very generous portions. My salmon had a delicious crispy exterior and flaky inside, although I would have liked it a bit more done inside but that's ok because reheating my leftovers should be perfect. It came on a bed of couscous with red pepper, tomato, zucchini, and squash. I love couscous but not many places serve it so I was very happy. My husband's pasta was a bit spicy for my taste but he absolutely loved it. We both have leftovers for tomorrow and I would definitely go back and try other menu items that sounded good. By the time we left, the sun had gone down and the lighting in the restaurant definitely felt more intimate, not quite as sports bar-ish. Loved almost every dish that we ordered! The focaccia was soft and pillowy inside and a bit crispy outside. The honey ricotta was smoother than I expected and a perfect, slightly sweet counterpoint to the savory rosemary focaccia. Also loved the cacio e pepe, great fresh noodles and lots of black pepper but not too much. Loved the filet medallions and scallops. Scallops were cooked perfectly and were wonderfully rich and buttery. Great sear. Medallions can go either way...almost didn't order them because I was worried they'd be overcooked but they came out a perfect medium rare. The filet was so tender, and only slightly overpowered by the delicious lobster cream sauce. The Caesar salad was slightly underdressed; I would have liked 5-10% more dressing. But the Parmesan croutons were tasty and added a nice crunch. Good service and a modern European atmosphere added to an excellent dining experience at Circo. read more

Second time going to Circo. Similar to before, I really want this place to do well as west Omaha needs more food staples. However, this is a miss for me. I tried the farfalle pesto pasta and I was not interested in eating more than I had to, to get full ($20+ pasta mind you) It was very bland, I wish it was homemade pasta and could have even been improved with fresh Parmesan and cracked pepper. I even ended up taking some of my husbands spicy risotto just to give it more flavor. The main point for our visit was actually to try the new speak easy Taro. While the drinks had character and effort put into them they were not a cocktail I would have again. The decor also seemed to be confused with the theme and a bit random and the process of "getting in" could be heightened for a better experience. I really want this place to do well. I've been here several times and to the Tarot room as well. There are several items I love and keep going back for. The sweet and spicy carrots, the rosemary focaccia and the burrata and fried dough are all awesome and I get them every time. The main entrees, I haven't found something worth having a second time yet. They have great drinks and desserts. We really like the atmosphere and stepping my into the tarot room for another drink after dinner. Their happy hour is a real deal. Although there were apps available, we went ahead and ordered our own rosemary focaccia, with a side of killer ricotta honey... Celebrated a pals NEW website launch (IYKYK) and those complementary apps sold me... I'm such an app lady. They offered their Homemade Rosemary Focaccia, Sausage & Red Peppers, Charred Eggplant & Roasted Sweet Pepper Dip, their Beef Carpaccio Flatbread (cauliflower!) and a few others that we didn't try. I snagged their half order (I recommend that size!) of the Roasted Pear & Arugula Salad... I'm a huge fan of the sweet/salty combo it gave, with the little nuggets of gorgonzola. We went to Circo tonight for a birthday dinner with our daughter and future son-in-law and had a fantastic meal. Wonderful service, (shout out to Faith..she was great)! We'll definitely be going back there again. We had the sharable carrots and asparagus, both were delicious but definitely recommend the carrots! For entrees we had the Bucatini Carbonara, Sopresine and Clams, Tagliatelle di Mare, and Surf and Turf Doppio. All were amazing!!! Would I recommend Circo? The options are yes or no. My answer is absolutely not! If I can give 0 stars, I would have. The room we got seated in was dark. The food was overpriced, not flavorful, and cold. The service was terrible. Our server checked in on us at the wrong times and never when we needed their attention. It almost seemed like they didn't want to. The number of times we tried to get our servers attention was ridiculous. We informed the manager that our drinks were flat and our food was not great and they did not care. No apologies or no deductions. Terrible customer service! It took 2.5 hours to be seated, eat, and to get our bill. Save your money and go somewhere like Olive Garden. read more

The concept is definitely interesting; an upscale circus look. Think muted colors and pictures, no Ferris wheel or clowns. I attended a friend's party so items were served buffet style; burrata pizza, focaccia, sweet and hot carrots were all tried. It was hard to pick a favorite but the carrots edged ahead. The carrots had a good amount of spice but it was slightly 'cooled' by the sweetness. I crisp exterior but soft inside. The pizza was the next runner up. Think airy dough margarita pizza but with balls of perfect burrata cheese. Lastly, the focaccia was fresh and soft but with substance. The paired white sauce appeared like Alfredo but was a pleasant sweet honey. I also added on a peach Old Fashioned (they had four OF choices). It was a good mix of a slightly sweeter Old Fashioned. My wife shared an instagram reel about this spot. It looked nice, and she sent it my way. That said, I jumped online to make a res right away to surprise her. I usually don't have Italian out, as it generally leads to disappointment. That was not the case here! Quinn (our amazing server) told us about their daily happy hour, which ending up working out great for our 5:00 reservation. We ordered up a bunch of apps, and an entrée each. The highlights for me were the focaccia, their version of pizza, the red pepper spread, as well as Porchetta with polenta! My wife loved her carpaccio over cauliflower crust, with capers. I'm not a huge carpaccio fan, and I too enjoyed it! The only disappointment was the ravioli beef cheeks. Which sucks, cause I was really excited for them. They did a lovely job updating the dinning room making it very nice and more classy and romantic. The menu is full of hand made pasta and a few meat dishes. I enjoyed my pasta but the others in my party were not crazy about their meals. My mom had the Gnocchi and found the sauce to be way over powering she however liked the pasta itself. If you don't enjoy a fancier food experience this may not be your place. So for people who like basic Italian and nothing fancy which was my mom and grandmother it was not for them. Stop in for half priced select bottles of wine on Sundays and stay for the delicious food and chill ambiance. If you like cream cheese pinwheels, go for the Ricotta Tortellini. That's exactly what it reminded me of in the best way possible. So creamy and perfectly paired with the zingy red pepper sauce, though the menu listed hazelnuts were lacking/nonexistent. The rosemary focaccia was a solid start and for only $5, I'd definitely recommend beginning there. Pasta prices were a little steep so this won't be a regular rotation but a go to for special occasions, for sure. read more

Circo's was a recommendation from friends. I should have asked if they would be able to graciously handle a large party , not just a table for 2 or 4 people. Moving forward, a larger aprty was palnned for a birthday celebration. It was made perfectly clear how many guest would be dining that evening. We were seated int the farthest and darkest location possible. The seating that was provided was very tight and uncomforatble. When requesting a littlemore space, attitude broke. i think that's when the iceberg was spotted from the crow's nest. For the sake of this review, the name Lloyd will be used as the server and Harry will be used as the assistant manager. We are new to this restaurant and would have enjoyed the menu being explained to us, along with some recommendations. Lloyd let us knowin his owm particular charm how outstanding and experienced he was and how knowledgeable he was on absolutely every dish. lloyd later easily proved himself to be not so customer orientated with uncalled for emarks such as "We're not here to cater to your dietary disorders". Yep. Believe it. I think everyone was absolutely stunned at this comment. At this point, everyone is starting to feel like the Titanic just hit the iceberg. Other comments when asked how spicy a dish may or may not be, he stood on the dish being NOT spicy - "the kithcne must have changed the recipe and not informed me of this change"....this was laughable and dramatic. Ther servers are the life line to the kitchen. You fail they fail. And then "I'm just so busy running my head off around here". Lessons learned: customers may be able to understand that anestablishment is busy when professionally communicated with. Customers do not care about your other tables, your stresses or that the kitchen is no longer your favorite friend and sharing their best kept recipe secrets with you. No one is interested in excuses. Lloyd proved to have aquired a new art. Comments regarding the food: portions were average, some small and underwhelming. the overall flavor was good but not outstanding. Bread service did not seem like it was an option and how dare we ask. This is an Italian restaurant. Isn't food, family and friends supposed to be a fun experienc when dinig out? Comment onthe cocktail: kudos to the bartender. The cost is what is to be expected. A few simple requests were made, such as another cocktail, salt , peper, parm cheese. These requests apparenlty appaulled Lloyd by his outward facial expressionsand attitude. Those requests were never fulfilled. In defense of Lloyd, we have no idea what is on his personal plate or what challenges he may have the burden of carrying. May be Lloyd was trained to have a snarkish/snappy attitude. This method somehow being supported by leadership, displaying off-color approach as cute, humorous and confident? this approach was not rendered acceptable or appreciated. The most surprising part of tis evening was the the assistant manager, Harry, was equally as insulting with " and what do you expect me to do about it?" That falls inline with the temperment of 'that's not my job'. Outstanding leadership. At this point, the Titanic is bobbing in the ocean about to go down. Next, they added tip on the taxed amount and the pretaxed amount. You migh think what's the big deal, that we are being cheap with this comment and that it's not a thing but it is. We know there is a cost to good food and good service. it's not anprobelm when that meets the expectations. At this point, we're frozen in unforgivable freezing waters becasue the service is so unfriendly and condesending. Words are strong and powerful tools. they make people pause and think twice. this review should have been about great food, service and atmosphere, making it a memorable and happy experience. it hsouldhave been filled with crazy great snapshots of their food presentation, their cocktails and people smiling, laughng, having fun. It should not have been a review circling poor service. But that was the takeway. We have been many other places where the food was ok but the staff was friendly, responsive and accomodating. this experience has been a huge , ongoing conversation. Actuality of it is, this shouldbe a strong conversation with the staff at Circo's if they plan on being successful and surviving the restauarant climate in Omaha. No life jackets here. read more

We came here for a family dinner. It was a Sunday with two other tables there when we arrived ( a 2 and 4-top. one more 5-top came about 30-minutes after us). They had manager and at least two bar tenders on staff in addition to our waitress and maybe a couple runners. It still took 20 minutes for them to bring two glasses of the wrong wine and a simple cocktail. AFTER the drinks were finally repoured and delivered, we got our order in and then waited for an hour before food actually was brought to our table. All of the adults at our table have worked in the service industry. We usually have a lot of patience and grace for cooks and servers. However, there is no reason for the wait to be so long, and for most of the dishes to be food to lacked flavor or was over seasoned, some plates looked over-portioned and others under-portioned, and overall was overpriced. Do not recommend and will not return. read more

Our second time to the main restaurant, each time the food was so-so. Nothing really special here. Bottles of wine are half price Wednesday and Sunday. The real winner here is their speakeasy. Just ask for a Tarot card reading to access a nice back room with special cocktails. You can get several of the appetizers back in the Tarot Card room as well.
