It may be considered a bit criminal to not order a pasta at Via Farina, but when you go at lunch time it is 100% worth ordering a sandwich especially since it's probably one of the best you can get in this city. No matter what you order at Via Farina it will surely be a hit. Our pane al forno was literally piping hot (I watched it come straight out of the oven) and everything was just so fresh. The fratello pizza is a must get in my opinion. I was so sad I was so full and could only eat one slice in the restaurant, but I have plenty to take home. While I think Via Farina truly thrives as a dinner spot, their lunch menu is definitely worth going for if you have the opportunity.
Discovered my new fav Italian spot in Omaha! Via Farina. They have the best happy hour, best charcuterie board, delicious handmade pastas, great selection of sprites, homemade lemon cello, yummy pizzas, and delicious and affordable Gelato!
One of my favorite places!!! I stay craving the Burrata appetizer!!! Service was also great and a nice environment
A fabulous restaurant no matter where their location. Stopped in for happy hour and had their delicious arancini, a margarita pizza and of course dessert- chocolate malt cannoli and an affogato. Head on over to happy hour! Great prices and the food is delicious!
Had lunch finally at Via Farina today'. Definitely a very solid 4 stars. Service was excellent. Started off with the fried cauliflower appetizer. Now this should actually be a salad not an appetizer. As it was mostly arugula. Now don't get me wrong it was very flavorful. The cauliflower were delicious. I had the Italiano sandwich. Definitely reminded me of an old school deli Italian. Now I like a lot of red wine vinegar so I asked for extra. I'm glad I did as the bread was a bit dense and cold. Overall the flavor was pretty dang good. Wife had the Italian beef sandwich. Looked pretty good. Most definitely will be back for dinner.

While the atmosphere is a bit different than the OG, the food was still amazing. I got the Spaghetti Nero Fra Diavolo. It was perfection. juicy shrimp and a good kiss of spice. The noodles were cooked perfectly. This goth girl loved the black noodles. it doesnt exactly say that it is squid ink, but maybe? Regardless, I'd order that again.
Went here for dinner during the week with some coworkers. Fortunately it wasn't too busy and we got seated pretty quickly. I ordered pasta and a limoncello to pair with. The pasta was pretty good and the portion was worth the price.

This was the only mile disappointment, as I was looking for something light, and this was covered in very thick/creamy dressing. Next time I will ask for this on the side! The greens were not my favorite, as they were long, and all had to be cut before eating. The shrimp on the side tasted good, but I would have much preferred this to be on the salad as I expected it. My girlfriend's got a variety of pizzas, and pasta, and they all loved their dishes! I would definitely return here, but would not get a salad again. I would go for their pizza and pasta options as this seems to be what they do best. Our server did a great job, taking care of our party of seven, despite training someone else at the same time! The overall atmosphere here was fun, and very cozy. It is a pretty small place, with plenty of decor to add to the authentic Italian vibe.
My wife and I went here for one of our rare date nights and it was phenomenal. Everything we had was truly exceptional, the decor is great, and the prices were very reasonable and good value. We will be back! I loved the sourdough pizza and pasta. We also had a bread starter that was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and sat us at the charcuterie bar which was a lot of fun.
Such a cute spot with GREAT food! More on the pricey side but the food is high quality. Perfect for a nice dinner date. We sat outside and it was the perfect vibe. I got the Gemelli alla vecchia pasta which was amazing! Our waitress was very sweet. Hope to be back!
This spot hit the mark - go. Been to the downtown location several times but something about the ambiance with this location made Xmas shopping break perfect. Clams and freshly made pasta, wood fired artichokes, and a perfect Negroni was devoured. You could tell by the broth these guys are on to something. Great staff / service and love the to go cold fridge options if you want to get some meats or cheeses on your way home. The piece de La resistance was the open glass pasta making room - not messing around here. Keep it up Via!
We took advantage of happy hour pricing to get pizzas and boards and beverages! Their pasta is good as always, surprisingly filling for the portions, prices are spendy but this isn't an all the time place for us. Would love to see smaller price tags so we could enjoy this food more! It's a great special occasion spot! This location did get noisy as it filled in though so maybe not the quietest spot!
First time dining here tonight with a party of seven, and we had a great experience! We were seated promptly, which was a great start to the evening. For my drink, I ordered the Cecilia's Mule (vodka, strawberry aperitif, Galvanina ginger beer, strawberry syrup, basil, and lime). It was incredibly refreshing and definitely something I'd order again. For our appetizer, we tried the Italian street corn, which was one of this week's specials. It was okay, but in my opinion, it could have used a bit more flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the Spaghetti Nero Fra Diavolo with shrimp, garlic, white wine, butter, chili, herbs, and lemon. It was absolutely delicious! The shrimp tasted fresh, and the flavors came together perfectly--chef's kiss! My only critique is that the portion size was a little on the smaller side. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. It wasn't overly loud, making it easy to enjoy conversation. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Overall, we had a wonderful first visit, and I'll definitely be back! read more
This restaurant has become one of my go-to spots because the food is consistently great every time i visit. The pasta dishes are definitely quality over quantity, which I appreciate. I love a good pizza and theirs is some of the best I have had in Omaha. I love that they have some rotating flavors. Their drinks are also excellent. I like their selection of wines, and all of the other cocktails I have tried were well done. As far as happy hour, this is one of the best around with great options and a nice atmosphere. When it's nice out the patio is relaxing. One thing I really appreciate is that reservations can be done quickly online, parking is conveniently right in front, and the service is always fast and attentive without feeling rushed. Yes! So much yes! Go! I waited too long to try this. We showed with a party of 8 for a birthday ordering all sharing plates...every person had glowing reviews. The rigatoni was a top runner, with gnocchi, bucatini and marg pizza as contenders. All the flavors were rich, with quality ingredients. The environment had quite a few tables but still felt intimate. Our server too--the best! Recommendations, refills, samples, clearing...she was on it. It was an upscale yet slightly causal vibe. Via Farina is one of the more upscale local spots in Omaha. It's not the most inexpensive place ever, but I think the quality of food and ambiance mostly makes up for that. I have eaten there a few times, and have had a pretty good experience most of the visits. Our last time we ate there, the service was a little slow, but they were absolutely slammed (right after the holidays). The interior design is very classy with lots of light woods and black. The bar is super cool with tons of bottles integrated into the back wall in the X crossed recesses. The ceiling matches the rest of the interior with light wood beams against black for a pretty neat look. We started with the meat and cheese plate, which had lots of delicious cheeses, meats and veggies of super high quality. Everything was situated on the board so photogenically - I had to snap a pic immediately! My husband and I also shared the wedge salad, which was very crisp and flavorful, with tons of veggies, fresh iceberg lettuce, and a blue cheese/balsamic dressing. I had never had a blue cheese I liked, but this one (mixed with the balsamic) was the way to do it. I had the Meatball (open faced) sandwich. It had super flavorful meatballs covered in a hearty marinara sauce, and melted cheese, on a nice crispy bun. It came with fries, that were also pretty tasty - I think they had parmesan on them too, which I liked. My husband got the Patata Pizza (he shared a piece with me). It was a white sauce base with a few cheeses, potato chips, and little slices of potato. I am a potato fan in general, so this was great to me. My husband and I basically switched up eating each other's back and forth! For dessert, we tried the cannoli (a holiday edition!) and the tiramisu. The tiramisu was pretty darn good, but I love all tiramisus basically. The holiday cannoli was good, but a little too crunchy for my tastes. I think Via Farina is a nice option for a night out or a business dinner. It's definitely on the spendy side for the portions you get, but I feel like that's most modern restaurants nowadays. read more

Actually 4.2 as the food was excellent but let's start with the atmosphere. Walked in Thursday evening and was seated immediately. Behind us was the loudest group of gals I have ever heard in my life. When I say loud I mean the laughter of a dying hyena loud. My ears are still ringing from the cackle behind me. Waiter showed up and drinks were served quick and without hesitation. We got the crab and artichoke dip. It was nice and bubbly with some good toasted bread. For the mains we had the rigatoni and the gnocchi. The gnocchi was excellent. Looking to be a handmade pasta that was rolled on a board and not the pillow lumps served at other spots. Sauce was comparable to what I had in Italy not the American tomato water slop served in most Midwest Italian joints. Rigatoni was perfectly al dente with the same luscious sauce. Oh and the pizza oven. I mean it was so hot I could feel it from my seat 8ft away but in a good comforting way. Definitely a place to check out. read more
I visited this new location again for my birthday dinner. I tried something new: the sourdough tagliatelle. This is the perfect pasta for the picky "I only eat buttered noodles" member of your family. I thought it was very good, but I would choose to to add the truffle for an extra flavor note next time. My mom had the autumn risotto which I sampled, and it was fantastic! Now this was a dish that was full of flavor. I was also really impressed with the portion size. Via Farina does a free piece of tiramisu for birthdays, which we enjoyed. It was absolutely delicious, even into the next day! read more
Was absolutely blown away by the new Via Farina location. The aesthetic, the food, the waitstaff..we had a great experience. The cacio e Pepe pasta was one of the best pastas I've ever had. It was so creamy and well balanced. We enjoyed the bread appetizer and bread pudding for dessert and I even had a limoncello flight. Can't wait to go back. read more

Make sure to make a reservation because walking in is not easy. The first time we went in on a November Friday we were able to be seated at the pizza bar (didn't have a reservation) and they were incredibly disorganized. Servers were bringing the wrong orders to all of us, mixing up our orders with the party next to us and seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. The pizza bar is very cool but is slightly overwhelming and hard to have an intimate dinner when they are right there. The meatballs tasted fake, the artichokes were bland but the pizza stole the show!! Second time we went in on a December Thursday and had a reservation. It was much more seamless but the host was so grumpy and not very friendly. The server was ok though. The charcuterie board was disgusting. They could have added more jam and mustard to it (ratio was very off) and the meat tasted like it had been sitting out for days. I've had so much better charcuterie boards for less, even. The pizza once again stole the show. I'm giving four stars because I'd go back for the pizza each and every time. We've gotten pasta both times too and it's just meh. The lobster one is overpriced for the quality and the bucatini is boring. All in all, make a reservation and just go for pizza! Or order a pizza to go! read more
I tried Via Farina last night for the first time! Me and my boyfriend got the pepperoni pizza to share. The sourdough bread crust was soooo amazing but the portion sizes were way too small for the price we paid. My boyfriend said the beer was really good too. We didn't have a reservation because we didn't think it was too busy on a Tuesday, but it was surprisingly pretty crowded! They managed to seat us on the patio right away and it was super nice out so it was perfect. read more

You had me at Arancini! Tics all the boxes! A love letter to wood fired pizza. Great service delicious food, Authentic Italian, using local ingredients. Fun decor and ambiance with a clear focus on doing Italian well. Not fussy but still elevated. Brought the kids and they enjoyed it! The pizza is that perfect chewy, soft on the inside and charred crisp edges. We walked in and they were able to accommodate us but could book a reservation if you have a larger group or are headed there on the weekend or peak dinner rush. We saw the cheesecake and decided to try it and it is heavenly, might ruin other cheesecake for you! read more

I love everything about this place. The food, drinks, and service were amazing at the bar! Hip, cool restaurant, very modern. I can't wait to go back and sit at the pizza bar. Make a reservation and understand that there is a bar area (pizza bar) and a main dining room these all require reservations. The bar has open seating, but there is not much room for it (about 6 bar stools total), and when folks grab those spots, they tend to eat dinner there as we did and loved it! We arrived at 4:30 to snatch up three stools! read more
