    Caesar salad

A beautiful spot for good Italian food. The staff were kind, attentive, knowledgeable about every dish we asked and accommodating. We ordered the bolognese Bianco, carbonara with the pork belly (the STAR of the show - it completely melts in your mouth!!), and got the Caesar salad + tiramisu, both which were delicious as well. I will 100% be coming back here.

I've always heard great things about Avoli, but this was our first time getting to try it. Safe to say that we will be back! The atmosphere is really cool - elevated/upscale without feeling stuffy or overly fancy. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. We started with Brussels sprouts. These were super flavorful and perfectly crispy. My husband had the carbonara. It was so delicious and peppery, and the guanciale was by far the best I have ever had. I wish I knew the secret to getting it so crispy! I had the butternut squash risotto. This was also fantastic and super flavorful, and it tasted even better the next day. We can't wait to return to try more items off the menu!

We went to Avoli last Thursday for our 10 year anniversary, and as usual, Avoli delivers an exceptional dining experience! We always appreciate their creative spin on Italian fare, and the service staff are some of the best in town! Our favorite part of the meal was.....well everything! The atmosphere is always intimate and laid back, one of the best restaurants in town! Support local!

Avoli Osteria is easily my favorite Italian restaurant in Omaha. I was home for the holidays and had to make sure me and my boyfriend ate here at least once while we were in town. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu but I absolutely loved the mushroom mafaldine. It was so perfect and savory. I also ordered some pork belly on the side to eat with it and it is always cooked perfectly. My boyfriend got the carbonara and added shrimp and it was great. The focaccia was also delish. I do wish they would serve it with some butter though. Our server was fantastic and thoroughly explained the dishes we had questions about. The restaurant itself is also beautiful. You can really tell that everyone here really cares about the food and service they are providing. Already looking forward to coming back again!

Fantastic service, beautiful and warm ambiance and the food just tops it all off! The Penne al Vodka was delicious, and my husband got the Potato Gnocchi and devoured it! Highly recommend, absolutely will be back!

Everything was outstanding. You can tell the chef puts pride into his food. We started with the burrata and the relish and prosciutto and bread hit the spot. The marinated olives were delicious. We then tried the bruschetta. It had smoked salmon on top. Delicious. Not a normal smoked salmon but this had an extra Smokey taste. Both pasta dishes were a 10. Had to take some leftovers home tonight because some might say we over did it on the bread tonight. Totally worth it! Also great service all around. The staff is knowledgeable and professional. Awesome date night!

I really don't have any complaints! It's on the higher end and would be a great place to take an out of town guest that loves homemade pasta. I think we gloat slighted on the octopus considering the size it is and other pictures I've seen though it still tasted delicious. The Parmesan fries were to die for. The bread was warm, soft, tasty, and my special was perfect! It's the dry aged beef (forgot the full name) but I LOVED the olives on top. All pasta is made in house and you can tell! Our server was super knowledgeable and willing to work with us on how we wanted to split the check and on if they had certain drinks. The location is easy enough for parking and they do have several spots right in front. It was darker inside and the lighting went down a little after 7 so if you're looking for a comfortable, intimate spot - make your reservation at 7! We went on a Sunday evening and had no problems getting in and being served. Definitely recommend!

Avoli Osteria was a hit with my wife and I. She loves all things pasta so we finally got to check out this spot on Mother's Day. We decided to sit on the shaded patio and it was just beautiful outside. Chad our server was fantastic, super friendly and knowledgeable about the menus. I started with the Rababaro Scura and my wife had the Marula Concerto. Both good cocktails. I started with the octopus as an appetizer. The char on it was perfect and really enjoyed the potatoes it came with as well. My wife had a Caesar which was tasty real fresh with a lighter dressing. My wife had the penne a la vodka and added the spicy sausage on recommendation from Chad. She really enjoyed it and the fresh mozzarella it came with. I had the house tagliatelle which came with a ton of meat in the sauce and the noodles were perfectly al denté. We both had leftovers to take home which they box table side for you. Overall we really enjoyed the place. Not sure there's one dish that would make me come back but everything was just very good. And the service just made it a 5 star experience.

We had prompt and friendly service. The ambience was refined. And the dishes used fresh, creative ingredients. All in all, we had a wonderful experience.

Friendly service, comfy setting, and oh yeah - the food! Unfortunately for me, there is too much seafood on the menu but there's always something. People rave about the seafood dishes so I'll trust them and say it must be good. I'm just not into it. On this visit, we each ordered a cocktail. I decided to try the lemon martini which I never order and OH MY GOODNESS. It was awesome! They nailed it. The limoncello brought it home. My dining partner had a dirty martini and was satisfied as well. We enjoyed a Spezia salad which featured mixed greens, prosciutto, tomato, Kalamata olives, and a house vinaigrette. It all combined so well. The lettuce was wonderfully fresh, no need to pick out rotting leaves like some places. The dressing was simply light and delish. We shared a plate of spaghetti. You get several options to add to it. The grilled spicy Italian sausage sounded good. I'm not sure which was better. The sausage or the marinara sauce. Both were soooooo good!! The sausage was truly grilled and spicy and just amazing, and it was not greasy either. The marinara sauce challenged my own that I make at home. We devoured that plate of spaghetti which was big enough to share. I forgot to take a picture as it was served so I am sharing a tight shot of half the order after we divided it.

Spezia, you let me down!…read more Our waiter struggled to keep up with the dinner rush. We arrived for our reservation and were seated at 6:40 where we weren't greeted by our waiter for quite awhile. It took a long time to get our drinks and I had to ask for bread so we decided to skip appetizers and go straight to our entree. When ordering the entree our waiter said "and which salad would you like?" And then listed the salad options. Normally when ordering a main and the waiter says which salad do you want that's because the salad comes with the meal. Nope. We were charged $11 per salad that we didn't even really want. The salads were your average side salad, but thankfully had good dressings. We hadn't brought up salads, the waiter did when we ordered our entree. So we were disappointed to have $20+ in salads that we didn't request until the waiter offered them. Our salads were finished for at least 15 minutes before our main entree came out at about 7:30, nearly an hour after we had been seated. My shrimp scampi was good, the broccolini was a touch under cooked but the flavors were still good, and the shrimp was surprisingly large in size and cooked exactly how it should be. Had we been served quicker and not offered things that didn't come with our meal when ordering our meal we may have been happier, hard to say. The table next to us was sat about 10 minute after us and had a different waitress. They received their entire meal (including bread & apps) and left before we were offered dessert. The food is good, I won't discredit that at all. But when coming to a restaurant like this you are expecting a level of service that we just didn't get. I'm sure we'll try again in the future and if service is better I will definitely update my review but for now, this was a let down of a birthday dinner.

This is a MUST HAVE, I repeat a must‑have. Perfect crisp outside, soft inside, next‑level cheese pull, and that garlic drizzle seals the deal. I could've eaten just that and left happy. For the main course, I had the penne bolognese fiorna, and it was flawless (rich, fresh, and a generous portion). My better half went for the Big Vinny Combo (chicken parmigiana, fettuccine Alfredo, baked lasagna). Everything hit except the Alfredo needing a touch more salt... though she definitely didn't need any help enjoying those glasses of wine. We started off with happy hour drinks and calamari. The lemonchello and Negroni are strong!!! You've been warned! The calamari was surprisingly delicious. It didn't have a fishy taste, the breading was thin, tasty and yummy. The sauces it came with were also bomb. It had a nice kick along with pickled peppers that I could eat by itself. Now to the stars of the show -- margherita and pepperoni pizza. Wow. It almost felt like our taste buds were transported to Italy after the first few bites. Both of these pizzas were on the happy hour menu. I strongly recommend getting them if you're in a pizza mood. From the fresh dough, to fresh cheese and marinara sauce.. these pizzas alone are a huge reason we will come back. Our daughter had the buttered noodles which were also tasty. Based on the food alone, this easily could have been a 4-star experience. Unfortunately, the service made us feel like we were an inconvenience from the moment we walked in. We didn't have a reservation, and I completely understand that it was a Friday around 6 p.m. in a small restaurant near the Old Market. We fully expected we might have to wait. Instead, we were told, "Well, all I have is this table for two, but I need it by 7." It was about 5:45, so we said that was totally fine and we'd easily be finished by then. From that point on, though, it felt like the clock was ticking. We were seated and immediately given water, which was great, but we already felt rushed so we quickly chose a pizza and focaccia to split. Once the food arrived, the check-ins became frequent enough that it was hard not to notice. As soon as we took the last piece of focaccia, the board was whisked away. As soon as we took the last piece of pizza, that was cleared too. The check came almost immediately. We were in and out in about 30 minutes...roughly 45 minutes before they actually needed the table. Take that for what it's worth, positive or negative. I want to give a lot of grace because it was a busy Friday night, but the overall atmosphere from the service, including a hostess who seemed visibly unhappy much of the time, kept this from being a four-star experience for us. The food is absolutely worth having again, but next time we'd probably choose carryout so we can enjoy it without feeling like a nuisance for being there.
