My sons and I ate here last week and we were amazed by the food quality, service, atmosphere, everything! Both have asked to go back since our initial visit. Surely kids and adults alike will love this restaurant! Basil's has a Happy Hour menu from 2pm-6pm everyday. $6 wine, $4 drafts, $2 off seasonal cocktails and 50% off appetizers (as of May 2026). We got the onion strings, cheese bread, and buffalo wings for appetizers. The onion strings were delicious, crispy and served piled high almost overflowing their serving plate. The wings were sweet and each of us enjoyed them. The bread had a good amount of cheese, cooked to a golden brown and cut like a pizza so you could have a little slice (or 6, whatever you like...no judgment from me!). For our pizza, we got the "All Meat" - good portion of meat, lots of cheese and good flavor. My youngest son didn't like the sauce but everyone else did. The crust was chewy and delicious. Only note was the puddle of grease underneath the pizza, but a very small negative versus a bunch of positives. To finish the meal, we tried an ice cream. One of my sons got the sundae and I tried the Dubai Chocolate ice cream - a unique flavor with enough Dubai-like flavors to fulfill the craving if you like that. We ordered some the appetizers at Basil's, my favorite is probably the shrimp dish, it has spicy kick to it and crispy. The spinach artichoke flatbread & their pizza's are always to go. My first time here was such a great experience. First the staff friendly, attentive, and they are all dressed in all black which gives off a fancier vibe. The place is a nice set up of mostly large booths with a few tables in the middle and then a bar area in its own room off to the side. Now the food was so good! They have happy hour everyday from I think 4 to 6 but double check that . The wings were good, mozzarella sticks delicious! I got a kids pizza, kids spaghetti, the chicken fettuccine, and a lasagna for our party. Everyone loved their meal. We got all our food quickly after ordering and our waiter was very attentive but not overly so. Will definitely be back!! read more

I am surprised by the other reviews because my husband and I were pleasantly surprised with our to-go pasta from Basils. I had the ravioli, which was stuffed with four cheeses and topped with a meat sauce. It was super tasty. I will say they could work on presentation and I do think the price is pretty steep for the portion size. My husband got the spaghetti and meatballs, and he said it was very good. My pregnant self was also excited about getting some ice cream while we were here, but I didn't see anything flavor that sparked my interest unfortunately. read more

We absolutely loved our dinner! My wife had the Chicken Parmesan and I had the meat lovers pizza. The chicken was very tender and the sauce really tasty. The meat lovers pizza was loaded with topping and had a crispy crust. I could only eat two pieces. We also had the fried onion straws for an appetizer. So good! This place is exceptional. I absolutely loved it. Our kids loved it. There are a lot of places that put meatballs as an appetizer - and if you do that, it's they better be good. So many places fall short. These meatballs are some of the best I have ever had. Portions are huge, great for lunch the next day. Gave it a shot even with those bad reviews, but most of the reviews don't make much sense to me and sound like people just whining or ordering something they expected to be like what they make at home. If you don't like spice ... order mashed potatoes. With that being said, a group of us went in there and got some apps, pizza, and salad, and everything came out great. The buffalo chicken pizza was a huge hit! We really enjoyed the bar area they put in. Also great service! Note to Basili: advertise this bar area, as you are in a neighborhood looking for something they can walk to or bring a golf cart to. We have been asking for something like this for a long time! Can't really leave a review of the food as we never got to try it. We sat at our table for over 20 minutes without being acknowledged by wait staff. The place wasn't overly busy, approximately 30 people counting 5 babies who clearly weren't eating, and all but one other table had their food. The name is Basil's Italian and Ice Cream. Huge space at the end of a newer strip mall. It would be great for large parties. Happy Hour is from 2-6 every day with 1/2 price apps. We chose the spinach and artichoke flatbread and Italian meatballs. The flatbread was good but a bit too cheesy and greasy for me. We all agreed the meatballs were too spicy but did like the onion straws. For 1/2 price it made up for it. We all got ice cream- cup of butterfinger, cup of chocolate with peanut butter cups and a strawberry shake. Everyone liked the ice cream but I was disappointed by the shake. There were no real strawberries and for homemade ice cream I expected this. Plus you have ice cream in your name! It should be epic. Lastly our server was rushing us. Which was odd since there was only 1 other table there. We realized he was rushing to be able to have us pay our bill - it was the end of his shift. Unacceptable. read more

We have heard mixed reviews about Basil's, so we decided to get takeout and see for ourselves. Sadly it was a pretty big letdown. The pizza had a good amount of toppings but it completely lacked flavor. The biggest letdown was the order of waffle fries. I don't know if this was a mistake or if this is really the amount of fries you are supposed to get with an order. After this takeout order I would sadly say we don't plan to get food at Basil's again. read more

My husband and I stopped in to enjoy the Happy Hour specials. We chose the fried onions and fried ravioli. I am pretty convinced that the fried onions were the same ones you buy at Christmas and just warmed up in the microwave. Same size, consistency and taste. The fried ravioli was mediocre. Nothing to write home about. I think we enjoyed the dipping marinara sauce more than the actual ravioli. We might consider trying it one more time and ordering pizza instead. This place is great! The chicken wings address Pineapple Bacon. They make most foods hand made even the ice cream. You can ask for changes in dishes or add a little heat. $2.00 for a soda with unlisted drinks. Kids eat free on Mondays. The drink list is pretty good too. read more

The service was excellent the first time my friend and I went we went for ice cream. I got bread pudding with my ice cream that was phenomenal.. I believe it was Kelly who is the manager told us about their happy hour from 2 to 6 where all the appetizers are half price well don't you know with a few days later we went back the flatbread with the spinach and artichoke dip was to die for and I'm pretty picky about my Italian food having come from California and mom and Pop place. Now we're gonna get a gang together to go for a late brunch an early appetizers.. Service was great. The place is clean. Staff was very friendly. The manager there as no communication skills with there employees where he forces them out of work and there turnover is really bad. Don't know who's the owner is but who ever it is they need to change manager there due yo his skills are unprofessional. So, I had a really bad experience at this place. I was sexually harassed by one of the staff, and the manager/co-owner didn't do anything about it. It's like they didn't even care. On top of that, the food has gone downhill. The owner is always complaining about the kitchen, but the front of house needs work too. The food used to be okay, but now it's just gross. It was my first time at Basil's and unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this place. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and the sauce was very runny (watery) and way to spicy. I had the person with me try it and she agreed. It was like someone dumped two much pepper in it or something. Plus it was listed as a meat sauce but had very little meat. So, I mentioned something to the waitress about it and said she would tell her manager. A few minutes later she came back with our bill and that was it. This is by far my favorite pizza place to go, their food quality is amazing and they have a lot of options like adding hot honey on top of your pizza, the staff are always nice and the service is quick, they also have an ice cream area next to the register which is a great place to grab dessert before you leave, overall an amazing place to eat and I would recommend anyone in the area visit! read more

Pick-up order to go. First off, my coworker asked for a menu and they didn't have any? I know they're new, but how are you open without a basic menu? The chicken fettuccine alfredo was $18, probably two lunches worth of noodles, and it wasn't the basic alfredo we expected. The sauce was oily and thin, had a reddish tint to it, and it was spicier than expected. A drip has sat on the lid for a bit now, and I can see the oil separating from the rest. The grilled chicken was also spicy, and it was seasoned with either a crap ton of paprika or something else that color. My coworker asked for extra mozzarella on the side and didn't receive it, though they charged for it. The 8" garlic cheese sticks is $9, and it's personal pan-style with 8 wide strips cut in half. Cheese was generous and all the way to the edge. It tasted like basic cheese bread and I liked the crust, except it was very oily. The oil soaked through the box. The marinara dipping sauce is thin and tastes like straight tomato paste. The cashier offered samples of ice cream, which was appreciated even though we didn't have time. It looked like it might be good. We'll probably give this place another shot to see if things improve after a while, but we were disappointed this round. read more

I was super excited to try the Chicago Italian Beef sandwich, when they served it I was confused because I thought they brought me a philly cheesesteak, but I was told it was the Italian Beef sandwich, on the bottom of the sandwich was one carrot and no peppers and the "au jus" is gravy. It is the exact same philly cheesesteak served at 531. I told Doug the GM and he looked at me like I was speaking a different language. I am disappointed in this establishment's lack and concern for followup to a legitimate concern/issue. A week or so ago I ordered a Midwest Special pizza for pick up. All went fine with the order as usual, but when we got the pizza home to eat it tasted like reheated hamburger in a microwave... old and stale. We've ordered this same pizza dozens of times which we've always liked and enjoyed. I called and talked to the manager just so he knew this was not up to their usual fine standards. He was very apologetic, said they had a new cook who may have mixed up order and put in sausage rather than ground beef. He then offered to send us a coupon for a free pizza so we'd give them another chance. I told him that wasn't necessary but he insisted and said he'd send me a coupon to my address, which I provided. Well, it's been nearly two weeks, and I've heard nothing!!​ Not that I give a rat's ass about a free pizza, but if you promise to do something in the name of "customer service," you should fulfill your obligation, and you should just do it.​ Very disappointed in their followup! Just like the other reviewer, I'm from Chicago and ordered the Chicago Italian Beef with a sausage. When a gentleman was walking around, he asked how things were and I told him that it's not an Italian Beef if you use philly cheesesteak meat and the "au jus" was a beef gravy and the italian sausage, although had a great taste was dipped in red sauce. I overheard a guest ask their waiter if Lansky's had anything to do with this "new ownership" and he said it was the same owners. My wife got the crispy chicken alfredo, but it came out really dry, barely any sauce. I also orded a medium double pepperoni pizza thinking it would have twice the amount of pepperoni for $22.00 for a 14 inch pizza and there was barely two pieces of pepperoni on a slice, then I was told, oh that just means two types of pepperoni, which is pretty misleading and the pizza was "red" which in the pizza business means that the cheese is so scarce. Wasn't really impressed with anything. Nothing was offered for the issues. The manager did say, another guest said the same thing I did, when it came to the Chicago Italian Beef, I now know who that other guest was. Why would you put something explicate like that, not knowing what it is or how it's prepared? I was told that they cook the roast beef in house and that they don't even use the juices. Even if they took their fresh roast beef, kept the juices from their roast and seasoned it with Italian seasoning it would be closer than using chopped up processed cheesesteak meat. read more
