    Kids spaghetti
    Erin P.

My first time here was such a great experience. First the staff friendly, attentive, and they are all dressed in all black which gives off a fancier vibe. The place is a nice set up of mostly large booths with a few tables in the middle and then a bar area in its own room off to the side. Now the food was so good! They have happy hour everyday from I think 4 to 6 but double check that . The wings were good, mozzarella sticks delicious! I got a kids pizza, kids spaghetti, the chicken fettuccine, and a lasagna for our party. Everyone loved their meal. We got all our food quickly after ordering and our waiter was very attentive but not overly so. Will definitely be back!!

We split a small Midwest pizza, & an order of stuffed shells. Both were quite good, but really liked the Suffed Mushroom appetizer. We did try the ice cream, Butterfingers & Mint, with nod going to the excellent Mint. Our waitress Kelly made good recommendations for us

I am surprised by the other reviews because my husband and I were pleasantly surprised with our to-go pasta from Basils. I had the ravioli, which was stuffed with four cheeses and topped with a meat sauce. It was super tasty. I will say they could work on presentation and I do think the price is pretty steep for the portion size. My husband got the spaghetti and meatballs, and he said it was very good. My pregnant self was also excited about getting some ice cream while we were here, but I didn't see anything flavor that sparked my interest unfortunately.

We absolutely loved our dinner! My wife had the Chicken Parmesan and I had the meat lovers pizza. The chicken was very tender and the sauce really tasty. The meat lovers pizza was loaded with topping and had a crispy crust. I could only eat two pieces. We also had the fried onion straws for an appetizer. So good! Loved the service and the homemade ice cream for dessert. Our new favorite Italian restaurant!

The name is Basil's Italian and Ice Cream. Huge space at the end of a newer strip mall. It would be great for large parties. Happy Hour is from 2-6 every day with 1/2 price apps. We chose the spinach and artichoke flatbread and Italian meatballs. The flatbread was good but a bit too cheesy and greasy for me. We all agreed the meatballs were too spicy but did like the onion straws. For 1/2 price it made up for it. We all got ice cream- cup of butterfinger, cup of chocolate with peanut butter cups and a strawberry shake. Everyone liked the ice cream but I was disappointed by the shake. There were no real strawberries and for homemade ice cream I expected this. Plus you have ice cream in your name! It should be epic. Lastly our server was rushing us. Which was odd since there was only 1 other table there. We realized he was rushing to be able to have us pay our bill - it was the end of his shift. Unacceptable.

Order of waffle fries. This was right after I opened the container before we had the few fries that were included.

Friendly service, comfy setting, and oh yeah - the food! Unfortunately for me, there is too much seafood on the menu but there's always something. People rave about the seafood dishes so I'll trust them and say it must be good. I'm just not into it. On this visit, we each ordered a cocktail. I decided to try the lemon martini which I never order and OH MY GOODNESS. It was awesome! They nailed it. The limoncello brought it home. My dining partner had a dirty martini and was satisfied as well. We enjoyed a Spezia salad which featured mixed greens, prosciutto, tomato, Kalamata olives, and a house vinaigrette. It all combined so well. The lettuce was wonderfully fresh, no need to pick out rotting leaves like some places. The dressing was simply light and delish. We shared a plate of spaghetti. You get several options to add to it. The grilled spicy Italian sausage sounded good. I'm not sure which was better. The sausage or the marinara sauce. Both were soooooo good!! The sausage was truly grilled and spicy and just amazing, and it was not greasy either. The marinara sauce challenged my own that I make at home. We devoured that plate of spaghetti which was big enough to share. I forgot to take a picture as it was served so I am sharing a tight shot of half the order after we divided it.

The ambiance is quiet and really nice, and the restaurant is much larger inside than I expected, which makes it feel comfortable without feeling crowded. The happy hour menu is such a great deal. $6 Old Fashioneds is almost unheard of, and they are perfectly made for my taste every time. My favorite pasta is similar to a Cajun cream sauce, with the perfect balance of flavors and they definitely do not skimp on the chicken. My kids love the complimentary bread and always order the salmon pasta. I am usually too full for dessert, but this time we shared the chocolate raspberry cheesecake and it was so good it disappeared before I could even get a picture. Definitely a place we keep coming back to.

The ambiance is casual, yet a little upscale with the red, black, and white color palette. The party room on the side is a great place for an event or celebration (we had a Yelp event there). The Garlic Cheese Sticks starter is heavenly. Basically a little cheese pizza (but fancier cheese) with marinara on the side for dipping. So good! The Philly Fries are another starter that's delicious and it's huge, so could almost be an entree if you get it just for yourself. Huge chunks of Philly steak with a cream cheese drizzle (that I could drink in a cup). The salad bar is also great, if you want a lighter starter. I cover mine in their homemade ranch so it's definitely no longer "light" in my case! My favorite pizza is the Parm Alfredo, with an Alfredo base, tender chicken, and grilled broccoli. I know what you're thinking, "broccoli on a pizza?!" But just trust the process, it's amazing. The best Philly sandwich is the House Steak. Huge swaths of the Philly meat, green peppers, onions, provolone and the awesome Cheez Whiz! You can't go wrong getting this classic, with 531's twist on it. We met the original owners at a Yelp event we attended, and they were so nice and genuine and obviously cared so much about their food/product and pleasing their diners. I hope they have plans to stay in the restaurant business in Omaha, because I will support any new venture they have. I so am hoping the new owners don't change too much about the menu. I will give them a chance to see their vision, obviously, but hopefully a few of my faves remain!

This is a MUST HAVE, I repeat a must‑have. Perfect crisp outside, soft inside, next‑level cheese pull, and that garlic drizzle seals the deal. I could've eaten just that and left happy. For the main course, I had the penne bolognese fiorna, and it was flawless (rich, fresh, and a generous portion). My better half went for the Big Vinny Combo (chicken parmigiana, fettuccine Alfredo, baked lasagna). Everything hit except the Alfredo needing a touch more salt... though she definitely didn't need any help enjoying those glasses of wine. The kiddo crushed her cavatappi with shrimp -- fork never stopped moving, and she couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Though it could be considered slightly pricey, it's absolutely worth it. I'll definitely be back.
