Been visiting here more lately. It's a good, well decorated and quiet here. Service at the bar is great. There's even been conversation here. The selection is reasonable. The staff is enjoyable. The pricing is common for good wines. It's worth it for us.. Oh, parking is, thus far, easy. If the location fills. You should still find a spot, though. An extra thought. The host of this fine establishment contacted me when I lamented an absence of a dry sparkling, and she was so charming that I now no longer wish to partake elsewhere for such. Stopped in for a bottle of wine and a snack. We were greeted upon entry by a smiling bar tender who gave us a warm welcome. A nice wine list, and a full bar with some pretty upscale options! A nice selection of snacks, a perfect stop pre-dinner or for a light meal. The place is nicely finished with plank floors, tin ceilings and rock walls. A really nice warm feeling place. How in the world has this beautiful gem of a place been hiding under my nose the whole time I've lived in Omaha?! Nestled in the corner of a strip of stores, I had no idea what I was missing! I met a few girlfriends here before dinner and was immediately impressed upon entering. The ambiance is absolutely stunning. Lit candelabras accented the stone walls and enhanced the feeling you were in a swanky wine cellar in a multi-millionaire's home. It's dark and dim, but still warm and welcoming at the same time. Now I now it's a wine bar, but that wasn't my groove that evening. I'm sure their wine selection is superb, however I fell in love with their cocktail options. So you don't have to love wine to go here! The espresso martini is in the running for best I've ever had. Service was attentive, timely and kind. Such a lovely place, can't wait to bring my next out of town visitor here. read more

Wowwwwwwwwww! I have been missing out and immediately told my family when they come in town this is where I will take them. We walked in randomly one day and were so impressed. Haley was the bartender and she is so sweet, so helpful, and a hard worker. We actually went back a few hours later that day to try new cocktails because we loved it so much. The second time we were back she was watering the plants. Great hire, management! The paper plane is one of their most popular drinks and we'd order that and the dragonfly again! I love the wall of wine, it had some interesting wines that I'd go back and buy. It was quiet, it was dark though so be prepared. And it has a speakeasy feel to it. Barroco is the most unassuming, amazing little spot I had no idea existed! It's located in the corner of a strip mall, but once you enter, you are completely transported to another place! It is dimly lit with candles, yet warm and welcoming. The service was friendly, and the espresso martini was amazing! I met a girlfriend here for happy hour and we loved it! She had an espresso martini and I a seasonal selection - pumpkin spice old fashioned. Both were perfectly executed. What a wonderful find! I would say it's been hiding in plain sight but really I think it's just been hiding. Even when we were right next to it we had a hard time finding it! And once we did .... Fantastic. It has that Old World Bar With Modern Touches ambience that's really nice when done well and really cringey when not. Fortunately they dialed it in just right. We felt immediately happy and comfortable. We each looked at each other with that "wow, yeah, this is nice!" glance and proceeded to choose our spot. The server (Hailey (hope I spelled it right)) was an absolute charmer from the first moment. Happy, helpful, attentive, pretty much perfect. The wine and cocktail lists were both well-curated: great quality with interesting, diverse options. Really impressed! After my first (delicious) glass, I asked Hailey for a recommendation on something new to try and her recommendation (a Zinfandel whose name I've forgotten but whose taste I recall vividly) was on point. So many other things elevated the experience, too: tasty charcuterie board, blast from the past German beer (Bitburger), just the right music volume ... It was such a nice time. This is a nice little wine bar which is a good alternative to Corkscrew across the street. It has an entirely different wine selection from Corkscrew and there is no corkage fee. I liked my Cab. The meat and cheese plate was good, but a little high. I expected more meat and cheese. Overall, a good place to try and patronize. read more

This cozy place has a quiet and comfortable atmosphere. The wine selection is awesome, and you are sure to find a wine to your liking and budget. If you go for the wine and other libations, you will not be disappointed. Having said that, the service on the night four of us visited was below average standard. We waited too long for service and too long between requests and waitress response. The $24 charcuterie offering was average. When we asked for crackers, the waitress seemed put off and it was a long time before seven Ritz crackers were delivered. When the service becomes a topic of conversation among your group, that is not good. I will chalk it up to a bad night and we will try once more. read more

We happened in during what appears to be a soft opening. The interior space is quite nice, and well appointed. Because it was not busy, we opted for the little cozy walled booth on the east wall. The wine list is not (yet) extensive, but it'll do. There are also bottles for sale, but not a large selection at this time. No cocktail list was presented, but it appears that the bar can make any well-known cocktail if a customer requests it. We were offered some complimentary snacks (bread wedges with oil&vinegar) as we enjoyed our wine. Those were appreciated, but may need a bit of work if they're ever to become a small plate menu item. I also got the feeling that some small plates would be available in the future. All in all, a nice addition to the Rockbrook area. read more

The best part about Barroco is definitely the ambiance. The first time I went with a friend it was for the wine. Not a huge selection, 30 bottles on the wall and then about 26 or so from the menu of wines by the glass or the bottle. We selected a bottle and then decided to try their charcuterie board. It was good but I was surprised how little we received for 2 people. On a scale from one to 5 it was about a 3.7...the ambiance and Tyler boosted that rating. The second time I went with my friend we decided to order just a straight-up classic martini. Nothing special. We were asked if we had a preference for Vodka. No, not really, but since I was asked I selected Ketel One and my friend selected Chopin. Here's the kicker. On the menu cocktails range from $12-$14; I understand there may be a slight upcharge for the vodka but when we received our bill for two cocktails, not even signature cocktails, it was $44.00+.....an upcharge of $6 and $7 dollars for the vodka! We will NOT be going here for cocktails. We may try the wine again. Also, the menu is full of typos. Attention to details may not be a strong point. read more

Stopped in today for the first time. Was impressed the minute I walked in as it's in a strip mall but had a cute atmosphere where you feel like you're somewhere other than a strip mall. GREAT selection of wine and whiskey. Small beer menu for those who want that. Craft cocktails and a small food selection including charcuterie and cheese boards. I will most definitely be back! This is a hidden gem in Omaha! The cocktails were superb and explained with expert knowledge by the bartenders/mixologists.
