My work group booked the room in the back for an end-of-the-academic year staff celebration. It was in walking distance for most people from our work place (good thing because of all the streetcar construction). It was the perfect size for our group of 25-35 and everyone got a drink ticket for a beer, hard cider, or non-alcoholic beverage. We had a nice selection of appetizers ranging from charcuterie board to flatbread pizza to artichoke dip/bread. We had a dedicated server at the bar area dispensing drinks, making sure everything was stocked, and picking up plates. It was a really cute place and the food was excellent. Perfect choice for our group and within our price range. We're trying to support small and local businesses, especially in the Blackstone area. read more

Came here for a work event recently and the party room was cute, it did get really loud with a crowd so not ideal for conversations. The spread was good though pretty basic but decent and the beverage choices were also as expected. Overall I'd come back without an event and I think enjoy this. Would not recommend for a large event maybe a small gathering would work better in this particular space. Mostly because of the noise. read more

This place as been on my list for YEARS and i've finally accomplished on crossing it off (but not for good). The menu makes it so hard to pick as every wine or cocktail sounds delish. The staff is as kind and helpful in navigating what you want and providing great suggestions. The food was surprisingly DELISH too. The Frose paired nicely with it, and the presentation was lovely. I would have scored this a 5 out of 5, but the prices are a little high for what you get in my opinion. I recently hosted a bridal shower for my best friend at Corkscrew and everything was just perfect. Jessica and Sydney were a dream to work with in all the planning (and very patient with my five thousand questions)! Caitlyn (sorry if I misspelled that) was our server for the event and she went above and beyond to take care of us. The private event space is such a cute spot and it overlooks the patio, which gave such chill but elegant vibes. The catering menu had a diverse food and beverage selection and was priced very reasonably for the quality and quantity of what we received. I was planning the event from across the country and was only in town for the weekend, but we had such a great time at the shower that a bunch of our group ended up coming back to Corkscrew two more times that weekend just so we could try more of the regular food and bevvy menu. The baked brie, the frose, the hot spiced cider, and the fig & pig bruschetta were standouts to us. This will definitely be a stop for me everytime I'm back in Omaha from here on out. read more

What a fabulous wine shop, bar, restaurant, overall fantastic locale in Blackstone. I stopped in for a drink after work today and it most certainly will not be my last time here! Every Tuesday, they have Tasting Tuesday where you can try different wines. The sommelier that was doing it when we walked in was charismatic and very knowledgeable. After a massive lunch and a day driving back and forth to see the crane migration we were looking for something to eat and drink. Despite COVID so many of the establishments in the trendy Blackstone area were packed with folks. This small wine store and bar was perfect for us with some breathing room and a menu of small plates. The wines by the glass menu emphasized lower priced domestic wines and recent vintages in keeping with the area's younger (college) crowd. Nevertheless I was able to find a decent Chianti from 2017 that I enjoyed with our bruschetta and tasty cheese plate. Staff was very welcoming and the place had a great vibe. Really love corkscrew. Have been here several times and just live the ambiance overall. Whether it's sitting on the front patio, back patio, by the bar or in the party room I can always anticipate good drinks with good company (even it it's just myself) I have enjoyed when there were different reps from wineries that would come out to provide samples and deals on the wines. My favorite within the last year was the Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc. The only downside I would say is that the pricing is a little higher than other places, but I'm always willing to pay a little more for a local place that I enjoy overall :) read more

We were at the hospital all day supporting a family member. On the way home, we decided to stop in for a glass of wine. It turned out to be exactly what we needed. Josh, Josh, and Aaron were hospitable and knowledgeable about the wine and food. The wine selection was amazing and reasonably priced (bottles are served at retail price with a nominal corkage fee), and one of the Joshes and I nerded out talking about the different varietals and countries they represented. Flatbread is solid. Doughy inside yet slightly crusty outside. The sauce they use is base satisfying but it a good way. Definitely for a midwesterners palate, but enjoyable. Not spicy at all. Calling it zesty is more appropriate. Pork isn't high quality but it does taste like pork. Taste like pork from a bag that has the texture of cat food. The baguettes they offer have this lovely crunch while being pillowy soft. They also taste fresh. The pear bruschetta isn't anything special. Feels like something I whipped up at home with ingredients all from Walmart. The balsamic has no tang, the Gorgonzola hogs up most of the profile, and the walnut is barely noticeable besides its crunch. The pear itself is quite muted by the cheese, but it does offer a nice sweetness. The blueberry pistachio is definitely more of a dessert one. Cheese heavy with the mascarpone, but the blueberry works well here. Barely could taste the pistachio. The cheese board is modest, lacks much character, and tastes like it comes from a catalog rather than a farm. The fig jam had a good amount of sweetness, without being overbearing. The honey drops are anti climatic without the honey comb, but it at least had a robust honey taste. The Gouda was the only one that I somewhat enjoyed. The blue cane off like Smokey nail polish at some points, and the other cheese had no flavor. The meat board is more about the accommodations rather than the meat. I did enjoy the spicy coppa, but The prosciutto Rollups were a joke. The olives were the most muted tang I've had. I would have been thrilled if I was 6 years old again. The mustard was Ok, but I couldn't help feeing it wasn't house made. Gerber pickles were good but nothing special. For this being in Omaha, it gets four stars. Its pretty cool this place can dedicate itself to just meat/cheese boards and wine. Otherwise, this certainly is a culinary adventure by any means. read more

We were greeted by Grant! Let me just say he made our first time here an experience. He walked us through the menu, wine options, beer options and gave his personal opinion. We ended up getting the cheese spread that had whipped goat cheese, jams, mustard and other flavors. The whipped goat cheese was unique and I loved it. We ended up getting beer at a wine place, but they had great selections here. I got a Pineapple Passion Fruit cider. It was light and delicious. It paired nicely with the cheese spread. From Farnam, its difficult to see how deep the space goes, but it actually extends pretty far into the building space. The front space houses a full bar and seating with wines lining the wall for purchase or for ordering. As you travel to the back of the restaurant, there is a back room that can be used for private parties and it leads to a opened garage door that leads to a patio and firepit. We ordered many things, sampling from each category on the menu. I especially enjoyed the charcuterie board and the flat bread, and I think those menu items are worth your time and money. Many of the menu items are local sourced and all of our food tasted fresh. My favorite flat bread that we tried was the prosciutto with arugula. There are a lot of wine choices, but as you might assume, less choices for hard liquor and beers. Service was attentive and engaging. I could see this being a favorite summer spot! read more
