It has been years since I came to this place. Many years ago, they used to deep fried thin potato skins and offer a cheese dipping sauce and a ranch dipping sauce with them. They were amazing. I wish they still had them! The bar has not changed! I like the comfortable chairs and the divey yet cozy overall feeling. The service was good and the bartenders are super nice. We ordered the Smashburger and the Philly. Both were very good. I like that you can get a single Smashburger patty as most places only make doubles. Deanna was my bartender when I decided to try a night out. Deanna was so kind & made me feel more comfortable (I have social anxiety). Deanna made the hands down best Old Fashioned i've had in years. She suggested the pretzel bites... so. good. Deanna also kindly made cocktails all evening and there wasn't one that wasn't perfect & so tasty. Cindy was my bartender before Deanna got there and she didn't greet me or offer me anything to drink for roughly 45 min... i didn't get too offended because she did have a party but then i noticed she had other help behind the bar and even they didn't serve/greet me. I've also been to Pipeline where i've seen Cindy behind the bar, and it was the same treatment. Seems she might just get a lil too tipsy on shifts? I have been back on most Sundays because I know Deanna will be my girl behind the bar. Deanna is a dime & 10/10 service. Cindy... not so much. I came here with my brother and cousins as we all came together for a family gathering in Omaha this past weekend. The locals in the group had frequented the Old Mill Lounge so we came here to drink a little and reminisce. Since I live in Vegas, I am used to paying large amounts of money for a draft beer or any sort of drink. I offered to pay for 2 beers and a drink when we got there and the total was $9.50! I was expecting more. Draft beers were bud light, bud light wheat, miller lite and sam adams, so most of us went for sam adams. We ended up getting a pitcher of it later for $12. The bar had a large TV showing the Olympics, couches, chairs, pool table, etc. I definitely used the touch tunes jukebox to play some Depeche Mode and Led Zeppelin in the bar. This is a cool and affordable place to hang out and grab a beer. I even brought along adult mad libs and we did those while drinking and had a good laugh. read more

If I could give 0 starts I would. This was the worst experience I've ever had. I went there with 2 friends and ordered a sprite and I saw her take a warm bottle of sprite fill the glasses with ice to the top, took the one bottle and split the sprite into 3 cups and filled the rest with water. I watched her do this! Then she told us it was 3$ per drink we asked her to double check and she came back and said " it's actually 3.25$" we could not believe this. Dark, divey, and a bit mysterious, the Old Mill Lounge is tucked away next to Cunningham's and New York Burrito. You know, the strip mall in the shadow of TD Ameritrade HQ. We stopped by for a couple drinks and some Funyuns on a Saturday night. The place was not busy. There were a few regulars at the bar drifting outside on occasion to smoke. The rest of the bar had younger couples quietly talking to each other at the various tables. The bartender was super nice and even offered table service. Drag racing was on the the big screen. A glass of wine and an Lagunitas draught was about $10. There's also a kitchen that serves up typical bar food, but it had closed down by 10pm. There's a review that says this bar feels like a basement from the '70s. Pretty accurate, although I'd add that it's feels like a basement that hasn't been remodeled since the '70s. I dug it. A great comfortable bar that we have been coming to for years. Nothing fancy, but definitely that Nebraska nice feel. Blonde bartender with heavy makeup is consistently here and solid. We love her. We are from a small town and this place has that small town feel that we love. Will continue to support this hole in the wall place as often as we can. read more

This past week my Omaha peeps took me out on what might be one of the best dive bar crawls I've been on in a long time. The Old Mill Lounge was a stop on that train and it did not disappoint. While lacking the character and particular touches that I like in a true dive bar that's been around for decades, OML is still a fun place to drop in for a drink or three, or maybe even ten.
