Lots of reasons to celebrate with these two!

For a friendly and comfortable atmosphere and, of course, a great glass of wine or one of my favorites, an espresso martini, check out Cellar 44. Every time I am there, McKenzie, the bartender, provides attentive and outstanding service, making my experience great. The owners are pretty fabulous too!

Great new wine bar out west! The atmosphere is very inviting and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have a wide range of options to fit all tastes and budgets. You can sample wine by the glass or share a bottle. We opted for a charcuterie board and were very impressed with the selection of cheese and meats and loved the fresh honey! They also have live music so check out their facebook page for schedules. We will definitely be back.

We always have the best time at Cellar 44! Their staff is amazing and knowledgeable. We will be back for sure!

Loved all of the wine and bubbly we had plus the charcuterie board. We were discussing it was the perfect level of lighting, noise level and adorable bathroom. We will all definitely be back.

The owner sat at the bar and drank the whole time we were there. Overpriced on the food and wine. Won't ever be back.

Overall pretty good place if you are not a wine expert (snob). Selection and prices are good. Snacks were excellent. Ambience is quaint.

Benihana - Spicy Chicken Gyoza

Benihana

(1 review)

West Omaha

Benihana as a business was bought out by the company who owns Kona Grill. So do we have a Benihana…read morein Omaha? No. It exists as only a "ghost kitchen" (pickup and delivery only) inside Kona Grill. We figured, hey maybe it's as good as the actual Benihana we've had while traveling, so we ordered it via GrubHub. But no - that hope for it to be as good was not the case. Especially for the price, which I'll get into. We ordered the hibachi chicken fried rice, onion soup, and chicken gyoza. It was $52 after tip. When I tell you the chicken fried rice was a child size...you have to see the pic to believe me. It was also dry as all get out. It was literally just like the fried rice you get on the side for free at Chinese restaurants usually, but with some dry bits of flavorless chicken. Luckily I had soy sauce and yum yum sauce at home to partially save it. The onion soup was $8 and it came in what is normally the size of a side of SAUCE anywhere else - super tiny. And it was about 90% onions, not really a "soup" at all. The chicken gyoza was pretty good, but for $14, I expect more than 5 little gyozas. It also didn't come with enough dipping sauce so I also had to use sauce I had at home. The fact that I had to "fix" two of the three items is not a cool look at all. I did like that they had Benihana packaging though, as most ghost kitchen type places just use plain brandless packaging or the brand of the restaurant they reside in. The packaging though did not save this meal, especially because the food wasn't great at all and the price was astronomical - I recommend you skip this one.

Dante - Squid ink taglierini & crab

Dining out with a 3-month-old and a 2-year-old can be stressful, but Dante made it feel effortless…read more Jen greeted us and quickly got us seated, graciously accommodating our oversized stroller without making us feel like we were in the way. That first impression matters. Our server Paul was a true professional. The best way I can describe him is that he represents what hospitality should be. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. His wine recommendation of a Barbera d'Asti with the braised beef completely surprised me in the best way. What really impressed me was Jen checking back in after seating us to help get our toddler's order in quickly. She read the situation perfectly while we were managing both kids. That awareness is what separates good service from great service. Highlights from dinner: Squid ink tagliarini with crab (fantastic depth of flavor) Braised beef (comforting and refined at the same time) Pizza that made our 2-year-old very happy Excellent wine guidance from Paul The service honestly reminded me of Michelin experiences I've had -- not because of formality, but because of how intentional and thoughtful everything felt. This was hands down one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in Omaha.

We've been to Dante a couple of times now. The first time was for a wine tasting event that our…read morefriends invited us to. It was a fun event with good wine and complimentary margherita pizza. Some slices were great, though a few had burnt crust. We came back another time to check out their happy hour. The drinks and food we ordered were fine, nothing special, and it took quite a while for the food to come out. Their happy hour ends at 5, which felt a little early. Overall, the ambiance is nice, and it's a solid spot, but given all the hype we'd heard, we expected to be a little more impressed.
