Coming back to social after a couple year hiatus, I felt like I was returning to an old friend. I don't often get out this west, but I had a blast! As someone who likes to mix and mingle, this is a great social spot, really lives up to the name. Not only did I chat it up with some familiar faces I recognized, my friend and I also ended up sitting with a birthday party. I wouldn't say the service is spectacular, but the environment and the vibes are great. The patio is cool and connects to Four Seasons. IDK if you can actually cross over to it, but we did say hi to folks over there. We had some drinks here after a dinner and it really ended up beig a fun social night. Stopped here for a cocktail around 7:30 PM on Saturday night. About half the tables were taken inside with three servers. We sat outside on back patio. The bar next-door has a patio that lines the same with Social. We thought it was nice they had a guitarist singing. We waited a few minutes before going inside to get a drink menu and some waters. I feel they had a good selection of mixed drinks on that menu. Still no one came out to take our order so we went inside to get our drinks. I just figured there were no servers for the patio? Better late than never on this one... Stopped by for holiday drinks with coworkers, and the pop-up itself was really cute. I loved the festive decorations. Even though it was only 2 PM on a Friday, the place was packed, which added to the buzz but also meant service was a bit slow. The drinks were good overall, though mine was not quite as cold as I expected. That said, it did not stop me from ordering a second one! read more

It's not what I expected from what I have experienced at the Blackstone location. I was a little underwhelmed with the drink menu. The staff seen us walk outside & should've met us with menus & water. We didn't see any staff for the 30 minutes we were on the patio. I had to go inside myself to get what I needed. Inside I seen three staff members that didn't have very much interaction or energy to be there. Came in last week on Wednesday and sat at the bar and I believe Josie served me. She was super rude and had an attitude the whole time, acted like she owned the place and seemed too serious about everything. My drink request, lemon drop shot and espresso martini, seemed very hard for her to make. I've heard super great things about this bar and about the service but I felt like I was a chore to serve and like she wanted me out of this bar ASAP. UPDATE: After a mutual friend decided to investigate, it was determined that we were inadvertently overcharged for the Shotski. There are 4 shots on the ski and instead of the Ski being entered just once, it was entered 4 times. After the owner found out about it, he refunded the over charge and felt horrible about it as they strive for a great fun place. I am keeping it at a 4 star for now and giving it another shot tonight with some friends. I may update again! Great job owner for making it right! You definitely earned a return visit for us! Tried out the Christmas pop up at Social. Very overrated! Decor is great, and the one drink was good, which is the two stars. NCAA VB was on and took forever to get it changed after numerous patrons asked. Drinks are a little pricey which I get it for the pop up, but I warn you, ask the price of the Shotski before you order!!! Total rip off!! Service is 50/50, it was busy and some were busting tail, others looked like they didn't want to be there. Also, turn down the volume! It's a Christmas bar, not a dance club!! I was here for a private party on a Saturday night. It's not very big but there are two bars so if you're in the back room or on the patio you don't have to go back out to the main bar to get a drink The party I attended had catering brought in and I saw patrons in main area brought food in, so I'm assume there's no kitchen. The holiday decor was cool without being cheesy- they even have a fake snow machine- I think they set it off when the Huskers scored but I was paying attention to the Iowa State game on my phone so I could be wrong. Overall I thought this place was cool- it's a bit of a hike from where I live on the east side so it won't be a regular haunt for me, but if it's convenient for you, check it out. read more

Social's OG location is in Blackstone and while I much prefer the overall character and vibe of the Blackstone location, it is nice to see them able to expand as well. Per most things in west Omaha, this is located in a strip mall. They have a small outdoor space out back that backs up to a parking lot and overlooks an apartment complex. I really enjoyed the garage doors at the front that allow fresh air and lots of light on nice days. We stopped in on a Monday, it was understandably pretty quiet, but they served up a really nice Old Fashioned and that is always a win in my book. read more

this place sucks. lived in Omaha my whole life and used to love this bar. I had a crazy girl throw a drink all over me for absolutely no reason. truly appalled and the bartender decides to kick me out? I sort of understand because he didn't see, but he didn't take any time to hear what happened. literally nothing happened. I had just gotten there, was one beer deep. I'm never rude to anyone I confront. I was so caught off guard by the spill and then this security dude tough guy grabbed me and kicked me out. security guy took no time to ask what happened, just escorted me out. shit establishment, shit employees. in retrospect, glad I left and went to other welcoming places like the good life bar which I'd recommend over this place. read more

I had about 45 minutes between events last Friday night about 5:30pm and decided to pop in by myself. I sat down at one of the two empty chairs at the bar. One young lady behind the bar was making drinks and as someone who has been on that side of the bar, I know she saw me so I waited. She delivered the drinks she prepared and proceeded to go over to the register to check her phone. The other bartender now returned and began to make her drinks. She finished them and the two of them had to talk about some drama that was going on. The second bartender then went to deliver her drinks while #1 went mia. Finally #2 returned and looked at me with no drink in hand, and "I" finally had to say hi, I would like a drink. Neither of them said hi, hello, or welcome. 13 minutes from the time I sat down until I was acknowledged....not the vibe a neighborhood bar wants. stopped in here on saturday for a friends birthday! not too many people which was nice, it felt like we almost had the place to ourselves. loved chatting with the friendly bartenders! my favorite thing here was definitely the giant moscow mule but be prepared to spend a pretty penny on it. the medium one is $60 and the biggest one is $100. it's great for photo op though and perfect for sharing! way more space than the sister blackstone location, but is missing some of the midtown liveliness. overall super fun spot out west! read more

Calling all West Omaha Moms-- this is the place to be. There is literally no better place west of 33rd street that can give you the urban fun feel that Social does. We got the Razzle Dazzle and it gives you full mule flavor with a dash of raspberry. So good! Chance was our bartender today and have never met someone so personable and outgoing. First time at this bar. Parking is plentiful especially on a weekend. Large windows open up on good weather days, allowing a good breeze if one is available. Drinks are interesting, not typical of a standard bar. No food is available so eat before you arrive unless you are planning on eating afterwards as I did.
