Blind Dave's Bar - Dive Bars Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

I have been going to Blind Dave's for a very long time. I enjoy the patrons, the atmosphere, and most of all the friendly service. The drinks are reasonably priced as well. That is until recently. I had the misfortune of being served by one of the most rude and unprofessional and unfriendly bartenders I have ever met. At first I assumed she was having a bad day, but I was informed that was not the case by another patron, that was just "how Jessie is". Well I find it extremely unprofessional to look a customer in the eye and tell them that they "won't get the same service because they are not a regular ". If I was that person, I would never go back to Blind Dave's ever again and I would tell everyone I know about her. Also, I can get a drink from all the other bartenders at one price but she charges me $1.50 more AND her pours are horrible. There is almost no alcohol in a mixed drink. I am very aware of how much goes in a mixed drink. She has no customer service skills whatsoever. The way she talks to certain customers is absolutely appalling and shouldn't be tolerated. I have heard a lot of complaints from other patrons about her as well. The last time I was in Blind Dave's, I actually watched no less than 6 regulars walk out when she came on shift. That's lost revenue for Dave and as a business owner, I would be concerned if I was loosing customers and revenue. I enjoy going to Blind Dave's because of the atmosphere and especially the service. The ladies have always been great, BUT I have no problem saying that I will never have another drink on Jessie's shift again, I will take my business elsewhere. read more

Bad customer service and too "clicky" of a bar. The bartenders wait on the regulars first and ignore the new people that walk in! Made me and my friends feel like an outsider when we went there! This is a dive bar's dive bar. It's very dark inside, and the "patio" out back doesn't have much going for it except as a refuge for smokers. It seemed strange to find a place this sketchy in Millard, but if you are looking for a spot to go hide from your significant other for an afternoon, you'd be hard pressed to find anything more suitable. read more

Went in on Sunday and the bartender was not it. She seemed annoyed to help us, but was smiley and comfortable with the people sitting at the actual bar but not super nice to us who were sitting at a table. read more

I will never ever go again! Some drunk guy tipped my table over and spilled all over me. He said bartender told him to do it because I was being nice to someone she didn't like. As a woman you mind your manners to drunks. You don't instigate to get more tips. I have never felt so unsafe in any establishment as I did there. read more

This place is a trip. I guess I would explain it was a biker bar? That was the literal crowd plus one random guy who may or may not have been homeless. Lots of old school rock blaring in the background. The drinks are cheap and going to places like this every once in a while are worth the stories you get to tell afterwards. I think this place has gotten a bit of a bad name, and maybe somewhat unnecessarily. We popped in around noon on a recent Sunday to try their famed Bloody Mary's, only to find out we were a day late. They make these beautiful creations on Saturdays, not Sundays. According to the poster on the wall, you get skewers of meat, cheese, shrimp, homemade meatballs and even a little White Castle slider burger. All for 7 bucks! We'll be back! The bartender was kind enough to dress up our Bloody Mary's with all of the leftover ingredients he could find though, including meat and cheese- which I thought was VERY nice of him! As far as the crowd, yes it's very diverse, but everyone was very friendly to us. We settled in like we were in a small town bar, and cheered on the NFL game and the keno with the fellow barflys. They even had some crockpots of food, as they consider Sunday "regulars day" and started a tradition of the potluck several years ago. We didn't eat any of the food at first, but two fellow patrons encouraged us to try their chili- so we did finally oblige. It was VERY good! Basically, this is a dive bar- Yes, it's cash only- Yes, they make Tombstone pizzas in a tiny oven behind the bar, and YES- there might be some interesting characters. Stopped by with a buddy of ours on a Monday night. Us walking in made probably six people in total at the place. We weren't expecting anything fancy and it was definitely a local hangout for a somewhat older crowd. Outside smoking area is enclosed and there are tables and chairs. I walked in the bar and I waited 3 minutes for the bartender even acknowledging me to ask what I wanted to drink. It was not busy and I was in plain sight. Fun bar...I just wish that the bartender knew how to walk out from behind the bar to check on tables. Seemed odd that she had time to chat with the only guy sitting up at the bar and not enough time to swing through the tables. Money to be made if you hustle, just saying. read more

Perfect place to feel like trash, 365 days a year! There's an initial sense of homeliness, but that quickly fades once you realize that you are who you hang out with. They can't make even the simplest of drinks, so don't you dare order anything except beer. Chances are your bartender will be so annihilated that she will spill half a draft en route, so I would recommend bottles, although then you still have to be concerned about about their disgusting hands twisting the cap off. In fact, just don't order anything at all, not even water. Stand around and keep your hands in your pockets. Pay someone to fill the jukebox. Bring your own pool cue. If you get bored, stand out in the smoking section and wait for drugs to arrive. When you leave, donate your clothes to Goodwill. read more
