Best bar the west of the Mississippi! My dad and I stopped in to see where my grandma grew up and this place is clean, great service. Cheap but very good drinks. This bar is hands down the best bar I've been too. If you heading by or going from Omaha to Lincoln for a game it's worth a stop. Great place!

DBT South West was very fun

Cheap drinks. Quick service. Free popcorn. Awesome beer garden. Gimmicky ice bar (in a loving way). I will be back :)

Buck's Bar & Grill - Hot Beef made with Prime Rib

Buck's Bar & Grill

Everything here is hearty and satisfying, and the strong margaritas are the perfect pairing with a great meal. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, and the service is always friendly and attentive. Whether you're stopping in for a meal, drinks, or a fun night out, Buck's consistently delivers great food, drinks, and hospitality. Highly recommend it if you're craving classic bar fare done right!

We hit that magical window around 4 PM, too late for lunch, too early for the dinner crowd, and definitely before the live music rush. Translation: no waiting, plenty of neon, and a whole lot of quirky dive bar charm. The place is exactly what you want in a dive bar: neon lights, old band memorabilia, and that fun, laid-back vibe. We grabbed a table, got our drinks fast, and put in our order. I went with the chicken fried chicken (because why not go full comfort mode?), and my husband ordered the patty melt with tots. He wanted prime rib, but it was not quite ready yet. Heartbreaking, but he rebounded by adding a side of chicken gizzards. He swears they are good here, and I took his word for it because that is as far as I was going with those. My chicken-fried chicken came with a side salad. Was it underwhelming? Yes. Was it fresh? Also yes. But let's be honest, nobody comes to Buck's for the lettuce. The mains arrived hot, in hearty portions that made me instantly resign myself to leftovers, which is not a bad problem to have. The staff was awesome. They all worked together, kept our drinks full, and just seemed like they were having a good time themselves. With big portions, tasty food, and a friendly vibe all around, Buck's was the perfect spot to celebrate a Husker win. We will definitely swing back through when we are in that neck of the woods again.

The Weekend Lakeside Bar & Grill - The Ashland Bluejay

This restaurant exists in Nebraska?! Great food with stunning views, games, and friendly service?…read moreThis place checks all the boxes. Located in beautiful Ashland, you'll find the weekend lakeside bar and grill. Not only do they have a big menu, there's games including; a pool table, darts, a claw machine and a beach! I felt like I wasn't in Nebraska tbh. I loved the shrimp tacos, my husband ordered the burrito and the chips and queso was a yummy starter.

They have a super fun and unique drink menu with lots of options to pick from! I personally always stick with margaritas and the salt Creek margarita was delicious and very refreshing. The chips and queso was good, but I would say the queso should've been a bit warmer and since it started to cool off quickly, it became very thick. For my meal, I purchased a quesadilla full of veggies and with a very crispy freshly fried outside. It was incredibly hearty for being just a quesadilla and I was only able to finish half of it! It came with a Salsa that was a perfect compliment. My partner ordered a burger and french fries, and greatly enjoyed it! I really enjoyed the fresh fries that were salted to perfection. Service was quick and friendly, very open to giving recommendations! I can't wait to come back here during a sunset to get a nice lake view!
