They have Thursday and Friday night live music if I am not mistaken, so come out and enjoy the night life. You order at the front counter, get handed a buzzer, then pick up your order at the counter. They have a seasonal selection which they slightly switch up each year. I had the frozen strawberry limeade, alongside the frozen strawberry lemonade with the limeade being my favorite! Always excited to hit Sonny's when it opens for the season! I got the strawberry glow which has vodka, Aperol, lemon, strawberry, and some club soda. If you like an Aperol spritz but want to change up the flavor, this is perfect!! It's definitely got some liquor in it, strong but not overpoweringly so, which I would hope for given the price. Their staff is always nice and gets orders out as fast as they can, sometimes it takes a bit because of the line, but they keep up pretty well! Sonny's is exactly what the Askarben area needed. There are always new events and a large variety of seating areas. The space is very "vibey" and it feels fun and relaxing to be there. The drinks at Sonny's were delicious. They are a little pricey, but I feel like you're paying for the experience. The only reason I didn't rate this 5 stars is due to the service. At any given point there were 3-5 people behind the bar having a conversation, and taking drink orders was clearly the second priority. This happened every time we ordered a drink, to the point where it felt awkward standing there interrupting their conversation. Pets are allowed in all areas except the turf grass. There is also a large dog park right next to the bar area. This is also right next to the Inner Rail food hall, which has many food options. We ordered food to go from Inner Rail and brought it to the Sonny's seating area, which was great. read more

These are attached to a grassy area with some lawn games. Overall just a fun environment. There is a small bar that serves some cocktails along with high noons and beers. The pretty cocktails were refreshing and delicious. The lines for drinks can be lengthy on a busy night but it moves fairly quickly. 5 star on the flowers and patio design. Seating is somewhat awkward with the sectional sofas that are made for very tall people. And the stools along the wood planters are so low (and uncomfortable) that one's chin is nearly resting on the wood. Service recommendation; train your bar people on how to do hospitality. The last few months the service has gone down hill....snobbish and rude. And maybe a dress code policy whereby no butt cheeks allowed. And in my mind, the area which needs the most improvement is the music that is played. We came just a bit after they opened so they couldn't take cash, but no worries, I was excited to see the Happy Hour prices. They're great $4 for any canned drink? Stopped in on a Thursday evening. The heat was rough but we got a nice breeze and some shade. Its a really nice set up outside and super friendly staff at Sonny's. Went to Sonny's today for an outdoor venue event that featured pizza and soda. Sonny's allows you to stay in the area to get alcoholic beverages or you would be forced to walk over to the Inner Rail bar to retrieve your drinks. It's a clean area, allows certain outdoor games to be played or socialize with others at this site. Garbage cans fill up fast and depending on the time of day or season, a jacket would be required after 6 p.m. during the fall season. read more

Sonny's has figured out a perfect method of having food with drinks and no kitchen. It's a perfect place for social distancing and enjoying being outside. I was there for a Yelp event with a somewhat grumpy companion so I didn't stay long enough to try more than one drink. Plus the heat was a bit too much for me. The outdoor space is very inviting with cushioned seats, nicely spaced table, umbrellas, and small gravel underfoot. The Froze was a deliciously refreshing mango frozen drink. It was so good, I could have had several except for a warning about the alcohol content. We also got a small charcuterie box with crackers, cheese, grapes, ham and some kind of pepper , which I think came from Culprits. Not my favorite kind of thing, but charcuterie fans will probably like it. It was quite small so I assume if you order off the menu, you get a bigger portion. If you want to eat a meal, you can scan the QR code on the table and order food to pickup from one of the food purveyors at The Inner Rail. There was going to be live music and dancing, but the heat put the kibosh on that for us. It seems that they have live music quite often so we'll have to check it out when it's cooler. read more

This place is so cool! Love that it's in the middle of a concrete jungle but yet has the feel of a park. Nice to see all the heaters by the tables will have to try that on a chilly night! Also fun that they offer s'mores kits that you can roast over a fire. Although it is a gas fire just steps away are a couple of real fire pits that they keep stoked with real firewood! Not a whole lot of choices for cocktails but they are fairly new so perhaps this will change down the road. They do offer some charcuterie you can pick from a fridge however it's not put together so you have to buy everything separate such as cheese, meat etc. They do have a popcorn machine which is a nice touch! Once again super nice folks running this place wishing them the best and cannot wait to return. Wish they had a Facebook page with upcoming events as I know every once in a while they have live music.
