This has been a regular spot for my husband and I. We had our first date here and like to commemorate important dates here with a fun drink. We stopped by while we were downtown last week. You can expect the place to always be vibey and cool. Our drinks were both very good, but I will say our bartender seemed annoyed that I didn't order off the drink menu. A girl needed a Hugo Spritz, what can I say!

This bar is so gorgeous and the large cushy bar seats are SO comfortable. I didn't catch our bartender's name but he was really cool and we had fun chatting with him. My husband surprised me with a date night that started with drinks here and what a time! We were here early enough on a Saturday evening that we were able to snatch a table with comfortable booth-style seating tucked away in the back. The ambiance here is *chef's kiss*. It's dark and moody, the bar shelves look gorgeous, and the staff is all so nice! I ended up getting the Kokomo and oh my - it was amazing! Imagine my surprise when our waitress brought out a drink literally on fire. It was a tiki-style drink that came with a juiced lime half with a shot of rum on fire and a candied pineapple slice. The drink is made with Pisco, but the rum poured into the drink really took it up a notch. It is a bit on the sweeter side, but I feel it is well balanced with the spirits and in flavor. I will absolutely come back here! The vibes and drinks were both excellent.

Very cool vibes at this bar. We were recommended to come here from one of the other local bars. So happy we stopped in. If you're looking for a fun date night this is the spot. The espresso martini was incredible. I feel like it's a drink that can easily be ruined but they made it perfect here. This would also be a perfect girls night out bar! A small side note the entrance is easy to miss!

Great atmosphere and great service. The staff were nice and helpful with our questions. Would recommend for a place to catch up with friends and grab a drink. If you're a cocktail person they have great options. Can get busy in the evening but never waited more than 10 mins for us. It is downtown so you will have to pay for meter parking. Also, I love the magenta colored seats!

The lighting is moody, the decor walks a line between eclectic and hip, and the winding booth-style seating has a vintage feel that adds to the whole experience, even if it's not traditionally cozy. The cocktail menu changes regularly, which keeps things interesting, but if you see a drink with foam on it -- order it, no questions asked. Every foamy creation I've tried has been incredible. I'm still dreaming about a key lime pie cocktail from a past menu that was perfectly tart, creamy, and just sweet enough. Total standout. Service is friendly, approachable, and helpful if you need some direction on what to try. Whether you're deep into mixology or just in the mood for something well-crafted, Berry and Rye is absolutely worth a stop.

Very chic and cozy spot. Ambiance is perfect for a night out at a classy bar with friends or a date night. The cocktail menu was diverse with drinks that had a variety of interesting ingredients and spirits. We ordered a few drinks a group, unfortunately do not remember the names of any however they were all delicious and unique. Each cocktail was beautifully crafted with interesting textures, flavors,etc. Though some drinks were unbalanced (i.e too sweet or too strong in one flavor), it was still an enjoyable experience and would certainly return to try other cocktails. The service was good and our server was knowledgeable of the menu and what to expect with each cocktail.

Unique | Tasty | Date-Night Unique - This place is truly unique because of its vibe and ambiance. It feels like an upscale cocktail bar in NYC/Chicago. The couches are purple and plush. It is a great spot to start the night with friends and is one of the few places in town that is built around "exotic cocktails." So, if you like to go on a cocktail journey - this is probably the best place in town. Tasty - The drinks are delicious. I had their mezcal-based drink on their menu which was amazing. The entire menu was pretty tempting and the general consensus around our table and the near tables was you couldn't go wrong with any of the choices. Date-Night - This is a great spot to either start a date, end a date, or have a first date. It is small enough to have intimacy. It normally is pretty quiet, allowing you to have a conversation. I'm surprised how many people have not heard about this place given it is in the heart of Old Market. If I had people visiting from out of town or wanted to impress someone - I would come here. Pro tip - challenge the mixologist. My wife asked for a smokey margarita which was not on the menu but she was feeling. The mixologist made the best smokey margarita she's ever had. Pro tip - there is some street parking in front of the property. But, it normally is not available during prime hours.

Such a beautiful bar. The vibe makes me think of New Years; so many beautiful lights and glitter. The bar itself is gorgeous and lit up, and the seating area is casual and intimate. We sat ourselves and were given menus to order from. They were out of a couple ingredients, so I could not order the drink I wanted. But the server recommended something similar I may like- which I really appreciated. My Saint Levant cocktail was exactly like described. Fruity, earthy, and funky. We went on a Sunday afternoon and had a great time. I was in love with their decor. The jewel tones were beautiful. I had a pomegranate drink and a pineapple zero proof spritzer that was divine! We were celebrating a bday so we had cake and the bartender was so nice and accommodating us with plates and a knife. It's another place I'll definitely come back to for a nice drink with my girls! read more

Simply one of the best cocktail bars/lounges in town. Very cozy interior and nice ambience, can get a little loud. Staff are very friendly and the bartenders and knowledgeable The drinks are fantastic, menu changes (not sure how often) and no matter the season there's always a drink I wouldn't mind ordering twice. Prices are fair and expected for the type of bar this is. Can get busy but I don't think we've ever waited too long for a spot Parking is street, meters. read more

Seems to be updated. Last time I was here the bartender took 29 min to make my drink. Way too much pomp and circumstance. This time we were seated quickly with a younger gentleman taking our order. Drinks were served quickly and willingly. Looks like they added quite a few at the ready cocktails. Lights were interesting drinks were good and I noticed a few pirates enter the bar before we left. It's been a few months since me and Dad visited The Berry & Rye so I'll try to pull some details out of holding. In town for the College World Series and choosing to stay next to the ball park didn't leave us many options for a night on the town, so we Ubered into the old town section. About a mile and a half to two miles away. We were so happy to step out on cobble streets and see all of the night life that was available. A quick Yelp search took us into this quaint gem. I went to the Berry & Rye last night for a couple of cocktails before bed. The vibe is like a speakeasy with great decor, very friendly staff and amazing cocktails. One of the things I see in the reviews is prices are high for a cocktail. I ordered 2 old fashions with a very premium bourbon. When I got my tab I had to ask did you only charged me for one. Nope. That was two. If you're used to dive bar prices, maybe it's more expensive. But if you are one who enjoys a high end cocktail from a mixologist, this is the best deal I've found in Omaha. I will definitely be back! read more

So glad I stopped in here tonight. Great atmosphere. Great selection of alcohol, and a very knowledgeable staff. Jo wasn't working but she showed up to hang with her coworkers and schooled me in gin. She has such an amazing knowledge base about liquor I almost couldn't keep up! Zoe and Tim were awesome bar tenders as well. Highly recommend this spot for good drinks and good company. read more

Truly some of the best cocktails I've ever had, and some of the best mixologist experience as well. This is the kind of place where you try to get a seat at the bar and just ask the bartender to make you something good. My colleague and I went here a few times while out on a contract gig, and as long as you went during off-peak hours, the place was pleasantly quiet and you could watch the bartenders practice their craft. We had wonderful chats with them, and were exposed to new cocktails (after asking for a drink that used the sphere ice the bartender was so carefully making, I was exposed to his twist on a rum old fashioned which was incredible). Their cocktail menu is vast and original. The staff were really cool. Prices were expected for a cocktail lounge. Atmosphere was speakeasy. read more

Very sleek and elegant bar. Great for going out with friends. The area is split into thirds by large booths. Get there a little early on the weekends or get a reservation in advance for a party. Very fun getting 1/3 of the bar to ourselves. Bartenders are very good at what they do and service is good. Drinks are indeed pricey. Expect about $15 on average. read more

Stopped by on Saturday night around 6 pm. Nice place! Great decor and friendly, attentive staff. A bit pricy if you order a cocktail from their menu, but ask for the beer options if that's more your speed. It's not a huge place so I wouldn't pick this place for a big crowd, but if you want a quieter intimate setting, it's a great choice. read more

Berry and Rye is a fantastic cocktail bar down in the Old Market. When you walk in, you're greeted with an art deco ambience that welcomes you in. The cocktail menu is extensive and has something on there for everyone. They also have an impressive liquor collection and I'm sure the bar tenders would be happy to make you anything you could want. I love coming here for a pre dinner drink or a fun place to meet up with friends and I plan to keep coming back in the future read more

I'm not from the area, but very happy I stumbled upon this bar in downtown Omaha! Incredibly chic and fun and perfect for date nights. The bar is not large, but very cozy with high ceilings so it doesn't have the feeling of being over crowded. I had "Venom" and be warned; this is an extremely strong drink but very good. We also had a very attentive server and an overall great experience. read more

On my next visit back to Omaha, I had to visit this place. It is a great sit down lounge to just chat with friends and have a drink. We found our seat and were served fast. I got a lavender blue, which is my favorite drink there. Overall, I recommend it for anyone looking for just a place to catch with old friends or date night. read more

I'll start with the OUTSTANDING service from Mia P--second to none, bar none! At $15-$16 per cocktail these drinks are overpriced, but the ambiance and exquisite service enabled me to overlook a rather large bill. The "Uncle Nearest" and "Rye After Dark" were big hits, but I'd avoid that $16 Kokomo. It was so incredibly sweet I had to add a shot of Casamigos to balance the drink. Nice place. read more

I am a big fan of this place. I loved the specialty cocktails, the ambience, and decor. The staff is always friendly too. Friday was no different. A quick one and done with a few friends. Had a $14 strawberry cocktail (don't recall the exact name), and a friend said his old fashion was great. Will always use this spot for a nice, quiet social spot. read more

We walked in about 5:30 pm on a Saturday and sat in a comfortable booth, got one drink each and left within an hour! We would've loved to stay longer. Came by on a Friday evening. Street parking was limited but there was a nearby garage. Plenty of space inside. Delicious drinks. We had two shots and a drink, came to only about $35. Pretty cheap compared to the DMV speakeasies. Connected to a Spaghetti place, of which it shares common bathrooms. Bathrooms are a bit outdated. But there was a lot of stalls to use. One of the best craft drink menus in Omaha. We tried the rye after dark, which is very similar to a Negroni. The a straw please was also good, not too sweet but very strawberry forward. Absinthe minded was everything you're looking for in an absinthe drink. The honey came out in it without being too sweet. The service was punctual even though they were busy. read more

For a bill that totaled over $350, we expected a much better dining experience. With the abundance of restaurants in the area, I would not recommend Monarch.

Refuses to serve foreign visitors. The Berry & Rye is a phenomenal establishment - well run, great atmosphere, great craft drinks; however, you will be denied service if you are a foreigner. I am a US Military Officer and my wife is a Colombian citizen (and a U.S. military spouse). Tonight we visited the Berry and Rye and presented our IDs. First, my wife's Colombian ID - which was denied (they were correct to do this because it is not an acceptable ID to purchase alcohol in Nebraska). I told the host, "no problem, we will run home and grab her Colombian passport". I was pretty pumped to share the Berry and Rye experience and didn't mind the effort. The host then told us that they could only accept a U.S. document and that her passport was not acceptable. Note: Nebraska law recognizes passports as one of the 5 acceptable forms of IDs - NOT just U.S. passports; which would be ridiculous and equal to saying "it's illegal for foreigner tourists/visitors in Nebraska to drink alcohol". The Berry and Rye is free to deny service to anyone they choose - and I support that right - but, I am deeply disappointed that my wife (a U.S. military spouse) will not be served there until she is a U.S. citizen (a 2 year process). read more

I was really delighted to find a venue like Berry & Rye in Omaha. As a girl who really appreciates a good cocktail, I find my enjoyment greatly enhanced by watching the talented mixologists here create the drinks. I find that their performances bring to mind a bit of a cross between what I've seen at San Francisco's infamous Rye (is that where the name of this place comes from?) and Tom Cruise's performance in the movie Cocktail. Tip: While the drinks here are every bit as good as I've had in similar places in cities like SF and New York, the prices are a lot more reasonable - usually $12-$14 per cocktail. Their standard menu features both a number of signature drinks, like the uniquely delicious Trinidad Smoke, and classic drinks that are listed by the type of spirit they're made from. Over and above the menu selection, if you smile just right and share a particular cocktail craving with one of their mixologists, almost anything is possible ;-) Note that this place is fairly small, so if you don't want to get turned away (especially on weekend nights) it's best to call and make a reservation. read more

Go to place if you're looking to spoil yourself and your lady. When I'm in Lincoln, I really like the Elk Creek Water. I asked the bartender if they could make a similar version and it was AWESOME! Love this bar so ridiculously much. The customer service is on par. This is not the place for bar crawls. It's for people that appreciate a good cocktail and seating room only. Trinidad smoke is fantastic, as well as the Shetland Sea and Antoinette. read more
