The ambiance is super chic, classy, and quietly tucked away in the Downtown Omaha Marriott, which is already very upscale and relaxing. The atmosphere was truly perfect for productive coworking and a delicious meal! We started with the Brussel sprouts, and I usually don't opt for them but after trying them I was surprised and delighted! The creamy sauce they paired them with was a perfect starter to my meal: a classic reuben with fries. I can always go for a good reuben, and Burdock and Bitters delivered! Very fun and convenient bar!! They have a great selection of bar drinks, martinis, wine, and snacks. Great for passing through downtown, hanging out before a concert, or when staying at the hotel. Seriously one of my favorite hidden gems! Innocuously located inside the hotel, it's a perfect spot for a date, or drink before or after any of the downtown entertainment offerings. Nice restaurant tucked into the downtown Marriott offering up some upscale American cuisine. We popped in here before an event and ordered some tasty brussels sprouts, as well as their fried chicken sandwich and fries. The kitchen was popping so it took a little bit of time so we ended up getting them to go. While I wasn't able to eat the whole thing, I did enjoy the chicken sandwich with a nice blend of slightly sweet and salty together. The fries were supposed to be truffle fries and were some kind of peppery steak fries instead and just OK, so I ended up skipping those. It's a tad pricey as expected in a nice hotel, but overall not that bad. I'd eat here again and come with a little more time to spare! read more

We also tried the appetizer with white asparagus soup, a delightful salad with a 7 minute cooked egg, the perfect middle yolk! Stopped in after our Yelp event yesterday evening and we LOVED!!! All of the drinks were phenomenal. The smoked old fashion actually didn't leave a very smoky flavor after sitting for a few minutes. The paper plane delivery was phenomenal, I've never had it come with an actual paper plane. The espresso martini was one of the best if not the best I've ordered at a restaurant. Our server Brei was awesome but she must have left because the bartender ended up taking over. She was just as great. Brei talked to us for a solid 5-10 minutes about yelp showing interest in our event. You can walk right into the bar, there are no doors and it's to the right from the front door thought it wasn't too loud at all. It was somewhat dark with mood lighting though we had no issues seeing anything. The charcuterie was good though some of the meat was crunchy like it had been sitting out and air dried. Everything else was great. Loved the pairing and presentation. The stone fruit flatbread was awesome to try and I'm sure even better with the peaches like it should have compared to the apples we got. Would totally go back for their amazing drinks! read more

Oh my I really enjoyed myself here with fellow yelpers. The drinks were just Good for my liking only because I prefer SWEET but if that's not you I can easily see someone really enjoying them. The service was fast and very clean I appreciated that. The food which is pictured in this review was sooo GOOD!! It was actually my first time ever tasting mushroom risotto and wow that's all I have to say. I definitely see myself coming here in the near future to try more menu items and drinks. Great restaurants in the capitol district with amazing appetizers and cocktails. We opted for just appetizers with brussel sprouts, truffle fries, and the mushroom toast. All were tasty, with the brussel sprouts probably being my favorite of the 3. The mushroom toast was also so good and cheesy, and the fries were nice and crispy, tho I will say not truffle-y enough for my liking. I'd probably skip the fries and just do the mushroom toast and brussel sprouts next time. I went with the ambrosia for my cocktail and it was dangerously good, while still being able to taste the gin so really the perfect cocktail in my mind. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant in the Marriott if you're in the area. It wasn't busy when we went at happy hour so we got our pick of tables and service was fast. All staff were super nice. The decor in here is also gorgeous, think a modern twist of the 1920s. Will definitely return here! read more

This pub is located inside the Omaha Marriott Downtown at the Capitol District, where we stayed for our 19th Wedding Anniversary. The reception staff recommended this pub, so we avoided the cold temperatures outside, and enjoyed some drinks and food. We opted for Margherita Flatbread and Wings and two beers. The Nashville chicken sandwich is nothing like a Nashville chicken sandwich. It comes on sourdough bread( the bread was burnt), with grilled chicken( there was no dry rub or hot sauce on the chicken) mayo, lettuce , tomato, pickles. I was disappointed in this sandwich. It was a basic grilled chicken sandwich. The staff is very friendly and I believe their other options would be better. I was recommended the short rib melt. I think that would've been a better fit in flavor and concept. Overall the establishment is clean and the staff is friendly. I would return. read more

Our menu was: -BBQ Ribs -Spicy tuna -Mushroom risotto -Caramelized White Brownie with a Sweet Corn Mousse Basil Black Peppercorn Caramel The Spicy tuna was excellent. The perfect amount of spicy to taste good yet not overpower the entire thing. The tuna was perfection. Then they added some type of spicy crunchy cracker thing under it was seriously made it even better. This was so good and I would absolutely get again. But let's talk about the item that truly stole the show for me.... the mushroom risotto. Oh. My. Gosh. SOOOOO incredible. I told my husband it was so good that I wanted to bathe in it haha! Seriously though, I love risotto and get it often when I go out and this was hands down one of the best ones I have tasted. I am not huge rib person, but these were very good. I was worried they would be sweet because so many people make the sauce sweet, but I did not have to worry. These were very good and the sauce was delicious! The brownie was to die for. Not too sweet, just sweet enough. And it was so cute too. My husband decided to also have an old fashioned with his dessert and said it was very good. Don't get excited about their choices of bourbon or whiskey, though. They try and slow play the "we're not a whiskey bar, but we do whiskey well." Came here for a work lunch & it was great! The crispy brussels sprouts were definitely the right choice for an appetizer. They were delicious! Nice & crispy with flavorful sauce. My chicken caprese sandwich was also good, although the bread did start to lose its crispiness & get soggy about halfway through due to the sauces & tomato juice. At least it didn't completely disintegrate. The chicken itself was kind of bland, but the balsamic glaze & pesto mostly made up for it. The part that made the experience so wonderful was the SERVICE!! Our server was so sweet & attentive. Burdock & Bitters is a crafty cocktail bar inside of downtown Omaha's newest Marriott, the beautiful glass spectacle that is located on 10th St., across from the Century Link. Whether you are staying here as a guest or local to the city, it offers yet another great place to grab a drink+bite in Omaha. They are "in theme" with the rest of the lobby, which I would describe as polished and intimate, with dark woods and warmer color tones. The accompanying hotel restaurant Society 1954 is adjacent with formal tables, but you can order any food from that same menu at the bar and it's included tables (which I highly recommend). Personally, I dont really care if a bar is inside a hotel. If it's a good bar, it's a good bar. Yes, the ambience matters, and yes, theme is helpful in my draw to a business, but this bar being in a hotel did not bother me a bit. I felt pretty swanky pulling up for the free valet (with validation) and avoiding the rain (and cold when winter hits!). From the valet to the front desk to get directions to the staff working at BB itself, it was good customer service all around. We especially enjoyed the pork belly with polenta, the brussel sprouts, and the Korean wings. The deviled eggs were beautiful to look at as well. The cocktails were excellent with in house syrups and creative flair in the choices. I sampled a few off their newest menu and think people will really like the seasonal options. The cost per person here with a shared app, dinner and a cocktail will run you ~$25 or so. Great spot for a casual night, before or after a show, or a special occasion. Stopped in for dinner last Friday. The food and drinks were great. The Sandstone Hut was stiff, but smooth - it was well made and a very good drink. The bartender made my husband a strawberry lemonade type drink with vodka and it was also pretty good. We tried the jumbo wings in honey chili sauce. They were ok. I would have preferred them to be cooked a bit longer and the sauce wasn't my favorite. For dinner I had the House-Made Garlic Linguini with shrimp and my husband had the Short Rib Udon. Both of our meals were great. The atmosphere and service were great as well. It was a nice spot for a quick dinner and drinks. I was so impressed by both the food and drinks here. Five friends and I had a three course meal with cocktail pairing and it was delicious. The chef, John Engler, was previously of The Grey Plume, if that gives you an idea of the quality. This would be great spot for a date night downtown or an elevated dinner with a group, you just probably wouldn't have guessed it as it's the restaurant in the Marriott downtown. The first course was a gin peach smash with foie gras torchon. Although I'm not usually a huge fan of gin, this is one of the most delicious cocktails I've had. Broker's London Dry Gin, donut peach, lemon, peach nectar, and mountain mint from Squeaky Greens Organics. The foie gras was comprised of donut peach chutney, peach puree, black mint, and mint oil, served with toasted bread. Interestingly, the foie gras came from La Belle Farms in New York State, one of only the farms in the country that produces foie gras. This course was my favorite. I would come back and get this over and over again. The second course was a cocktail that was a twist on an Old Fashioned with Old Overholt Rye, lemon juice, Angostura Bitters, and honey ginger syrup. The main course was pork loin from Truebridge Farms, with pork belly, carrot puree, honey glazed carrot, and collard greens. No one talked during this course, except to try to con someone else out of their pork belly bits. I would also come back for this. After the first two amazing courses, I was comparatively disappointed by dessert. While the elevated White Russian (made with Caffe Moka, cream, Amaro angostura, and espresso) was good, the fruit tart was just greek yogurt and berries. It could have used some sort of glaze. We finished the evening with Bochant orange liquor as a digestif, which rounded everything out nicely. read more

This place is so great! We came here each evening after our events and got to dry many different drinks and food items. All delicious. We had the best bartender the first night - He was entering a competition the following week (Good luck by the way!) and while we were the only two there he made us some specialty drinks which were just amazing. Each night we got good service, even if they were busy. It is nice, attentive, and a great place to go on a night out. Also, all of the seating options around are beautiful and unique! We purposely sought out B&B one evening to try something new. First impression was a cozy yet modern bar, albeit a hotel bar. However, it didn't really feel "hotel" to me. I'd like to suggest that they ditch the TVs over the bar, as they detract from the warm feel of the dark wood and lowered lighting. The craft cocktail list is nice, as is the list of whisk(e)y and other drams. There is a food menu also, if you request it. It consists of starters, small plates, and entrees. We decided to get a couple of cocktails and some small plates to share. All of the offerings were very good; the cocktails were delicious and creative, and the food was both well presented and tasty. Service was very nice as well. Overall, I'd recommend B&B, but please expect elevated pricing (for instance, cocktails $11 - $15) as it is in a hotel. read more

The home made hummus tasted like cleaning products. The wings came out cold, fatty and mushy. The only saving grace was the deviled eggs. Had to send food back and even with a manager sitting at the bar eating, he never came over. Clearly the staff is very busy with other issues...I liked our waiter though, he was the only guy busting his butt while two managers sat on theirs and the two bartenders sat around while the only waiter cleaned glasses behind the bar. I'd say a solid 4.5 stars overall but the service brought it down slightly as it was slow on a Monday evening around 5-7p; perhaps they were just short staffed. They didn't have one of the signature house liquors (coffee infused mezcal) for the cocktail I ordered; mind you it was great without it but not a great start. Food service was much more timely and I had the pleasure of trying the elotes, brussel sprouts, and pork belly. Omaha's worst service and dining value. How the mighty have fallen! I went here when they first opened and several times before games and events at CHI Center. It WAS great. Service has dropped so bad it unbearable. 20 minutes to get a glass of wine, 1 hour, 45 minutes to get a meal. Wait staff skip over you and seem to be very confused. I outright got skipped over at my table by the manager who knew service was running slow and did nothing to speak to me, he promptly made his way to every other table skipping ours. Ordered a plate of pasta and muscles, ice cold and the crispy chicken roulade dry as a bone, rubbery and barely edible. Prices remain high as expected at a hotel bar/eatery but not worthy of the quality of food and low level of service. 4 other tables in the place were also appalled by the service and poor quality. Who knows maybe it was a bad night... I can accept that if anyone actually tried to apologize or make it right. It was pretty clear the staff did not care. Plenty of great places to try in the old market and capital district. I'd pass on this one until they get their game back in order. read more
