We hit that magical window around 4 PM, too late for lunch, too early for the dinner crowd, and definitely before the live music rush. Translation: no waiting, plenty of neon, and a whole lot of quirky dive bar charm. The place is exactly what you want in a dive bar: neon lights, old band memorabilia, and that fun, laid-back vibe. We grabbed a table, got our drinks fast, and put in our order. I went with the chicken fried chicken (because why not go full comfort mode?), and my husband ordered the patty melt with tots. He wanted prime rib, but it was not quite ready yet. Heartbreaking, but he rebounded by adding a side of chicken gizzards. He swears they are good here, and I took his word for it because that is as far as I was going with those. My chicken-fried chicken came with a side salad. Was it underwhelming? Yes. Was it fresh? Also yes. But let's be honest, nobody comes to Buck's for the lettuce. The mains arrived hot, in hearty portions that made me instantly resign myself to leftovers, which is not a bad problem to have. The staff was awesome. They all worked together, kept our drinks full, and just seemed like they were having a good time themselves. With big portions, tasty food, and a friendly vibe all around, Buck's was the perfect spot to celebrate a Husker win. We will definitely swing back through when we are in that neck of the woods again.

The bartender/server was very friendly. My friend and I were have a conversation and didn't look at the menu much, he kept checking on us until we were ready to order. I got the Goose's Burger with tots. The burger was cooked well and had grilled tomatoes, grilled onions and a mango habanero sauce. The sauce wasn't too spicy and added a lot to the burger. It was a bit messy, but I scarfed it down. Tots were nice a crispy. The place wasn't very busy so I was a little skeptical whether it was going to be good, but I was pleasantly surprised. The rest of the menu looked good, I will be coming back to try the pork tenderloin sandwich!

These people, and this place have my heart. When my (bio) Dad passed suddenly and unexpectedly a few months ago, I was scrambling to find a place to host a gathering after his service. He was an Omaha native, a Navy veteran, and an avid Harley rider that maintained a variety of lifelong friends. How many, I had no clue. How many would see the notice and attend, I had no clue. Yet when I called Goose's Bar & Grill and spoke to Nathan and his Manager- the reply was short, sweet and put every ounce of my anxiety to rest, "We've got you" - and THEY DID!!! No questions, just the most perfect suggestions. They opened doors, brought in extra staff that accommodated and served us with the warmest welcome and comfort food you could image. (Oh, and the kicker?! - of course this all took place during the busiest week for all of the Main Street Papillion businesses- "Papillion Days" - still, they made it happen for me. I will forever be grateful. If there's one thing I could ask that you do for me, please stop in and support them. I have no doubt you'll love everything about this place just as much as we do!

The waitress was friendly and prompt to come and get our drink order and to get it brought to us. Then our order was not long after that. A table of 4 and we received our appetizer quick enough and had time ro enjoy it before our order came. We all made sure to get something different so as to try as much of the menu we could. Burger, fries, cauliflower, chicken fried steak sandwich, pork tenderloin sandwich, onion rings, glue fries, drinks and im sure im missing something. Everyone left feeling very satisfied, and loving our choices and what we ate. The place is smaller and I can see once its a packed house it is probably noisy but its to be expected. After all it is a tavern. I will be recommending the place as much as I can and will visit again when I am in town.

Heads up, if you use the men's restroom, take a couple of napkins with you as they have one of those recirculating dirty cloth towels to dry your hands
