Stumbled upon this bar on a weeknight when we we're exploring some Omaha dives. I went with two of my gay best friends and we got a couple drinks and shot some pool. They're alcohol selection was good- I got my favorite ciroc vodka. Unfortunately, the staff had some issues that was enough to make us leave. The male server was the definition of toxic masculinity and made myself, a woman, and two of my gay friends feel VERY uncomfortable. The female bartender was hammered drunk. Like to the point she was pouring herself shots behind the bar despite the fact other patrons we're begging her to stop. Very strange. Hey I'm all for taking shots here and there if you're a bartender but this was too much. Would not suggest this place unless you're a straight white 45 - year oldish male.. haha.. Not very POC friendly. read more

Like many Benson-area bars, the Musette is not about fancy decor and lighting, and tends to focus on the reason that most people go to bars - to drink and be merry. The crowd is a mix of young and middle-age people, and they have 4 large pool tables and 4 shuffle board tables, which is easily the largest number of any one bar in Omaha. Your drunk dads bar. The Musette is a large space with pool tables and shuffleboard galore. It definitely looks like it has been around forever, serving up drinks to blue collar folks for decades. It definitely isn't as hip as some of the other Benson bars, but I guess that is probably part of its draw. While I do like a good dive bar, this one just screams 'okay' to me. read more

A friend and have adopted Mussettes. We walked by saw a lot of pool tables and walked in. We both suck at pool I haven. Played in awhile. But we look good! Plenty of space between tables, lots of tables, a nice age mix and a good juke box! It'll take time for the eye to come back but that's the fun part! Until then salute! read more

In my home town, I used to frequent a place called The Queen Lounge. No, I wasn't hanging in a cross-dresser's haven. It was a bar located in the "historic" Queen Hotel. But I digress... I have many fond memories of hanging out in that local bar, and in many ways the Musette is a clone of it...or at the very least a close, blood relative. One certainly doesn't have to worry about pretenses or impressions in the Musette. I think it would be difficult to impress most of the folks that patronize the place. In other words, they couldn't care less. It seems like they are there just to enjoy themselves in a local watering hole. As Ryan T. said, there is shuffle board there, and I've been able to get on a table and play pretty much every time I've been in the place. I don't think there's ever been a time when I've been to the Musette that I didn't relax and have an enjoyable time. Like my home town Queen Lounge, despite the fact that some of the clientele look a bit rough around the edges, I've never seen anyone looking to cause trouble. In short, I don't worry about someone picking a fight, the way I would worry in some neighborhood bars. Finally, my girlfriend told me that the night I first introduced her to shuffleboard was when she decided she was interested in me. How could I NOT give the place a great rating? Oh, and the Musette has been voted one of the most popular stops on the Annual Benson Pub Crawl. read more

This is by far hands down the worst bar I have ever been in. First of all service is horrid. When trying to get a keno ticket wrote it took forever. The clientel is sketchy at best. When we were leaving my friend and I were insulted by some customers for no reason at all. They just flat out called us ugly. My friend is gorgeous so it was really weird. The bar looks a little sketchy from the outside, but we were looking to play shuffleboard and there were a fair amount of people enjoying pool on a Thursday night, so we checked it out. The shuffle boards were VERY well maintained and well-sanded. The bartender and patrons were pleasant and friendly. The ladies room was clean (deal-breaker otherwise).Overall, a nice unpretentious place to enjoy a game and a few drinks. We will definitely be returning. read more

I Love this bar. Its a nice place to go and just hang with your girls play some pool or shuffle board. Its also has an awesome jukebox with more up to date music than you think. they have a separate smoking area in the bar so you don't have to go to far from your entourage. Bartenders are quick to services and interactive with customers. Its more for the old souls of back in the day hang outs but a nice place with very limited amount of drama. read more

Absolutely terrible service. Bartender Gina didn't open a single beer for us and was extremely rude. When asked why a bartender wouldn't feel the need to open the beers instead of just getting them out of the cooler she insisted that wasn't her job. I am a bartender and it is absolutely my job to open beers for customers. Not coming back to this bar. I'd rather get better service at the 10 other bars on the same street. read more

Straight up dive bar and I've probably seen the bartenders taking shots with customers every time I'm in this place. That said... I love it. Although there might be some sketchy looking patrons, everyone that I've encountered has been really nice and genuine. Reminds me of some dive bars in Portland, OR which I absolutely miss. I come here when I'm jonesin for some shuffleboard and honestly, they definitely keep their boards and shuffle thingies in great condition. read more

Decent place to play pool if you enjoy 7-foot bar boxes, they have about eight of them so you will probably have no issues getting a table. They are maintained and have fast cloth on them, and you can purchase one hour for $7, two for $10, or pay individually for $1 a game. Drink prices are a little on the high side and they only take cash. This place has a real old-town feel to it which fits in well with historic Benson. Also worth noting is they have three shuffleboard tables. Hard to find places with one, let alone three. Overall I enjoy this place, the employees, the clientele, nothing really outstanding but that's sort of the beauty of it - no pretentiousness. read more
