My son and I stopped here for lunch yesterday - The Hill is one of the restaurants that's built in an apartment complex - sometimes they can be hit or miss, but this one is definitely a hit. It's clear who the regulars are and who aren't but I didn't feel like there was any impact to server quality. Our waiter was very attentive to refills and needs. The burgers themselves were both juicy and full of flavor. My son had the Curd Burger (a burger with Bacon/cheese/cheese curds/ranch, and he substituted his cheese) - it was large and the cheese curds were fried, hot, and delicious. The burger held together well and the serving of fries was very large. I had the Spicy Frisco Melt with tots. The burger was full of flavor - spicy but not super hot and very filling. Again, the side order of tots was very large. The restaurant had plenty of space and lots of TVs to watch the game (in our case, it was the World Cup). A hidden gem and worth a visit! read more

This is the place to be with a casual fun group large or small. The manager set us up in a private room for a group of 30. The food was above average for certain. Great selection diversity. I kept seeing this place pop up and thought it couldn't be an actual pub in the apartment clubhouse, but it is, and a good one too! I like a var that had food and the steak bites are my go-to. I think this is a smart concept - public restaurant and bar in an apartment complex. There was a really good crowd on a recent Friday night. There is indoor and outdoor space which was appreciated as I felt inside was pretty cold. Service was good and I enjoyed a $3 slice of pizza after the kitchen closed. I feel like The Hill might not be known to the public and that needs to change. This place is seriously so good! They have a wide range of options for food so even your pickiest eaters will enjoy themselves! Only downside to the menu is that there is no kids menu but we had two boys who split a meal. We called ahead for a reservation and they were able to seat our group of nine with no problem! The neighborhood pool was attached so it was fun to take the kids over there to distract them. They also had a lot of tvs on so we were able to watch the CWS games while eating! Service was great at checking in on you and dealing with the size we had! Only wait we had was getting the check! They took great care of us otherwise! Onto the food, the family got a range of burgers, sandwiches, tacos, and starters. The best thing you MUST get is their fries and ranch! A better duo than pb&j. I planned a birthday celebration in their party room attended by about 40-45 people. The venue was very accommodating of requests. Many guests remarked the food was great. Traveled to Omaha for work, and arrived at my hotel relatively late in the evening. The Hill was one of the few restaurants in the area that was open ast 9. I ordered a canned cider (no cider on tap), and a Philly cheesesteak with a side of tater tots, plus au jus (at my request). The sandwich was good - it had green peppers (my least favorite pepper), onions, and mushrooms plus the cheese. The hoagie bun it was on was good, and it was stuffed pretty full of the meat and veggies. It was delicious dipped into the au jus (only provided at my request. The tater tots were a crispy brown and were very good. The next day, I talked to some locals at my office that hadn't heard of the place, while a few knew it for good burgers. If you're in the area, I'd recommend giving this place a try for sandwiches, burgers, and they served pizza that looked good. read more

Middle of an apartment complex. Kind of a surprise to come upon this. The food is bar food. Not bad. Not great. Margaritas are ok but quite small (or maybe I just think I need a larger one). Updated review: many years later, The Hill continues to be a great place. Lets understand why. 1. Locally Owned - this is not a franchise, this is an establishment owned and run by hardworking industry professionals. They understand their customer base, that includes changing up the menu with seasonal food and drink specials (blackened fish, fish tacos and mac and cheese are delish during Lent). 2. Consistency - I've been there when its dead on a Monday afternoon, crazy busy on a Saturday evening, and everything in-between. Besides the completely understandable and acceptable crunch during an unexpected rush, these guys know what they're doing. Kudos to them for keeping their cool when the food and drink orders are flying. 3. The regulars - this is not a college bar, this is also not a froo froo bar where a craft cocktail will set you back double digits. The crowd is a delightful mix of 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 somethings - singles, couples, families, that manage to respect each others space and have developed an atmosphere where everyone can get along. (Expect the occasional curse word, so there's a warning for anyone with delicate ears) 4. The staff knows the menu and ingredients, can handle modifications, can work with you on allergies, offer recommendations, take-out, dine in, split tabs, the works. Just don't order a single lemon drop shot. Ever. Thats not cool guys. 5. Great for individuals, great for groups. Saddle up to the bar and watch the game along, or with some buds. Grab a table inside or outside and have a team lunch/dinner. Expecting more? Reserve a couple tables ahead of time so you know you're set. Diaper Keg? Graduation Party? Reserve the private party room weeks/months in advance. Need some privacy? Grab a board game off the shelf and get comfy in a more secluded lounge area spot. 6. Bar games! Darts, pool, Golden Tee, (aforementioned) board games. So many options for people who need a little friendly competition with their beer. 7. The menu - its not short, but its not too long - a good offering of various appetizers, entrees, and desserts, great for both individuals (salads, burgers, handhelds, flatbreads) and groups (loaded nachos, pizzas). We often attend events at Elkhorn High School for my nephew, so I was excited when I saw The Hill pop up on Yelp. Finally...a better choice to grab dinner than the Elkhorn eateries by the school. Although this isn't in Elkhorn, it is very close on the way from our house. It's located in the Broadmoor Hills Apartments. At first glance we weren't sure if it was the bar/grill we were seeing or the clubhouse, but upon entering it felt more like a bar grill. Lots of TV's and a cool looking bar and modern fireplaces. I noticed the bartender was also going to be our server so initially I was a bit worried because we were on a schedule, but the bartender was quick to get our drinks, take our order and deliver our food! We ordered the garlic cheese bread that had both mozzarella and provolone cheeses, and also melted garlic. YUM!! This bread is delicious! The marinara that comes with it leaves something to be desired...but the bread was great. Also ordered a hamburger, onion and olive pizza. It was also very good. This was a great find! Would be fun to come back in the summer and sit outdoors, or come to watch a game. Rumor has it they will be putting a TV outside when the weather gets nice. Next time I'd like to try a burger or one of their sandwiches. I highly recommend this for a quick bite or just to have some cocktails. Will definitely be back. read more

This was the first restaurant I went to after moving to Omaha. I stumbled upon it by moving into Broadmoor Hills but now that I've moved (in with my husband who I met at The Hill!), this place is still our weekly hang out! The staff gets to know you on a personal level and have become great friends. They are quick, the food is always good, and trivia on Tuesdays is a blast! I posted the below a few months ago but tonight was far worse. We spent more time trying to get drinks then actually getting drinks. The food was brought out 2 at a time 30 min apart so we ate in shifts or the rest of the food would be cold... they brought the wrong food and when we complained they took the food off!! Thank you but then they but everyone's stuff on the wrong tabs!! Come on!! We were there to drink and eat and our bill could have been higher if people would serve us!! I shouldn't be running around looking for a waitress!! I shouldn't be asking where the other people's food was!! And the burgers were so over cooked that we couldn't eat them!!! The wings were cold... you guys have such an amazing opportunity!! Get help that isn't to busy taking shots behind the bar to serve us!! If my table was full of men... we would have been treated better!!!! Because that is what happened!! Get more help!! Get 2 people to cook so we can eat together!! I want to want to come here but addys and the good life are always on point! None of us tipped our regular amount because he did most of the work!! They should have tipped us!! I love this place! I used to come here before I moved into the apartments on site. After I moved in, I went there even more. They have expanded their menu with more choices. Summers are super fun, as the pool is attached to the bar and you can people watch or sit outside in the shade next to the pool. I live in Broadmoor Hills so I'm a little biased because it's really really nice to have a cozy bar/restaurant so close to home. The bar itself is beautiful and there's a lot of room to sit as well as comfortable lounge style seating which I appreciate. The few things I've tried off the menu were super good and the drinks are tasty and strong. The servers are super friendly too! They have a pool table and an electronic dart board, every time I've came here they weren't taken but I'd imagine on a busy night you might have to take turns with some other patrons. Although difficult to find in the dark, this little place is worth the effort. Friendly sports bar without the blasting sound. The food is very reasonably priced and more originally presented than your typical bar food. For example, a house salad is more than just your standard iceberg lettuce and single cherry tomato and the house vinaigrette is excellent! First off, although The Hill is located within the Broadmoor Hills apartment complex, it is open to the public. This place is beautiful & summer will be even better, because there are garage doors that will be opened to the covered patio that has comfy couches by a fireplace & overlooks the pool. Everything is shiny, new & modern with a relaxed laid back vibe. There's also a two way fireplace inside that warms the main bar area & the cozy more intimate couched lounge area. Even though it's new & still making adjustments, it's obvious thought was put into the details. If you know me & my reviews, I'm big on telling folks about clean & well done bathrooms. The ladies room is immaculate with great lighting! Ya know, in case you were inclined to take a selfie or two. The Hill has a beautiful new free pool table (can't tell ya last place I saw that didn't charge), darts & Touchtunes along with nine brand new 55 inch flat screens to catch a game on. I was told a tv will eventually be hung outside to enjoy on the patio once the weather improves. The bar itself is gorgeous & has a surprisingly extensive beer list for a small place including local brews on tap, in bottles & cans. There are featured seasonal craft cocktails, a limited although good wine list & really nice liquor selection down to quality booze in the well. Oh, and they have some bubbles! Mimosas, anyone?? I think one of the things that surprised me most was the open concept kitchen-- definitely not something I thought I'd see in an "apartment bar/restaurant"!Personally, l like to see who's preparing my food, how clean the kitchen is, and if given the opportunity to speak with the chef, I take it! The kitchen is open until at least 10pm on weekdays & although the menu has bar food classics such as wings, nachos & pizza, the food is not your average pub grub. I recommend trying one of the huge fresh burgers, house made chips & the blue cheese fries. Oh, and they do a late night happy hour for drinks! Overall, the bar staff is fun, knowledgeable, accommodating & you may even recognize a few seasoned vets from the industry. I'm a girl who often goes out by myself & enjoys hidden little gems where I can get a quality meal, a well made drink even if it's something as simple as a vodka soda all while chatting with the bartender or zoning out alone in a corner without fear of being bothered.
