This was my first time visiting this particular Cheddar's location. The food and ambiance were what I've come to expect but unfortunately, the service didn't quite match. Most of our group had been to Cheddar's before, and we were all excited to try some new menu items. Overall, the food was a hit. The onion rings came out hot and fresh, the lemon pepper chicken was especially juicy, and the white fish ended up being another favorite at the table. That said, there were a few service missteps that took away from the experience. Two people in our group ordered the white fish blackened, but only one plate came out as requested--the other was pretty bland. When our server eventually checked in (a bit later than expected), we mentioned the mix-up. His response was pretty casual, something along the lines of there just being less spice, and he didn't offer to fix it or have it remade. We ended up just swapping a fillet between the two plates so each person had one blackened and one not. It worked, but it felt like something that should have been handled differently. There were also a few moments where drinks went empty for a while, and our server wasn't around much. At one point, a manager actually stepped in and refilled waters for the table, which we appreciated. Overall, the service felt very laid-back...but to the point where it came across like he didn't care. One bright spot worth mentioning: my salad came out before the meal with a lot more cheese on top than I expected. As I was picking some off onto a side plate, a manager happened to notice and stopped to ask if I'd prefer a new salad without cheese. We visited this new location of Cheddar's recently while out in the area and wanting to check the new place out. Suffice to say (before reading my long review) it was not on par with the L street location! The staff were definitely new and learning the menu, but that is to be expected any time a new place is freshly opened. Our server, Blake, was nice though and was learning fast. But with a few other servers, there was one thing that did not come about from being a server in a new restaurant. We were eating and could CLEARLY hear the staff around the corner talking loudly and cursing left and right. I am not a prude about language but it's just not something you see every day at a restaurant with families/kids dining. The size of the restaurant seems a little smaller than the L street location, too. That may be a psychosomatic thing when trying a different location of a place you know, but I definitely felt more cramped. The food is on par with the OG spot, so no complaints there. My usual is the bourbon glazed salmon with the cheesy broccoli on the side. So it was just as tasty as the other location, but I think I'll stick to the L street one mostly going forward. read more

The food was meh...... Ordered steak and shrimp and the steak was really chewy and had a weird texture and flavor. Green beans were super sweet. Not a fan. Positives: bourbon sauce was amazing as well as homemade onion rings. Everything else was just ok. read more

I had an A-Ok experience at Cheddar's on a weekday lunch service. We were sat immediately but didn't get table service for a bit and our server may have been new, but could use improvement in checking on the table, we had a flashing machine and no one took it without explicit asking to have it removed. The food was okay, the chips and cheese were not appetizing and my chicken my salad tasted like it was thawed from frozen. Overall, not the best experience, but it is't really a deal breaker, they have affordable options, and good daily specials, I may return, and just get something different. read more

They opened a closer Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen so we just had to go. Made a reservation online and arrived before the crowds hit. Shared parking lot, only a slight wait in the lobby and then we were seated right away. Delicious croissants drizzled with honey butter. Hot, fresh and baked fresh. I had the Beer Battered Shrimp with a Loaded Baled Potato and Broccoli & Cheese Casserole. Someone ordered the Chicken Tender Dinner with Hot Spicy Sauce, Mashed Potatoes and Ceasar Salad. Someone else ordered the Sirloin Steak, Loaded Baked Potato and Ceasar Salad. They also have an extensive bar menu. By the time we ordered, the lobby was filled with people. Each table has an electronic menu/bill paying system. You. An order more food, drinks, or desserts without having to wait for a server. You are label to close out your bill at your leisure. I love cheddars so it was fun to checkout a different location than I usually go to. On this particular day they had just been very busy so there were a lot of places that needed to be bussed which is understandable. The restaurant was decorated for valentines which was fun. We got our usual cocktails and such. I really enjoy those croissants! The butter has an interesting look but tastes so great. We really enjoyed Cheddar's new location at Village point in Omaha! Our server was an amazing young kid-Gabriel B. who knew the menu well & was quick to get our drinks and kept us refilled. I ordered the bourbon salmon and shrimp with broccoli that was all cooked to perfection and flavorful. My son ordered a half rack ribs and chicken tenders. That all looked amazing. He devoured it all. My husband always liked their chicken tenders and shrimp. It did not disappoint. Excellent service, nice clean restaurant, excellent broccoli and cheese, but the Chicken Fried Steak was terrible. It was so overcooked that it was rubbery and hard to chew, so bad that their very tasty gravy couldn't make it eatable. We normally go to the Cheddars on L Street and always had very good CFS so this was seriously disappointing. Hopefully it was just a bad day for them. read more

Ugh, I hate to say it, but this was just not very good. My sister worked at the original Omaha location for years when we were growing up, so I've eaten a LOT of Cheddars. But unfortunately every food item here missed the mark. The honey butter croissants that allegedly came right out of the oven were almost stale tasting; it was definitely not the light, fluffy croissant I remember. I had the Monte Cristo, my old favorite. It tasted kind of like...nothing and ham? I don't know how to describe it. Just totally lacking flavor. The fries were overly salty (and I like a salty fry) and the overall flavor/texture was not good. My husband got the ribs and chicken tenders. He said the chicken was good, but the ribs were just fine and on the drier side. He would not order them again. I will say, our service was great and the new location is nice and clean (although I miss the fish tank!) However, I can't see myself rushing back here. read more

We grabbed a late lunch here when everyone was starving after baseball. We were seated immediately, and our server was very friendly. We started with the queso and chips that were better than I was expecting. Honestly, the queso had a little kick to it, but the salsa was really, really good. My husband and I split the ribeye with steamed broccoli and loaded mashed potatoes. Our ribeye was cooked, medium rare just like we asked for, and the sautéed mushrooms and onions gave a little extra flavor. Our son just had his wisdom teeth taken out so he was limited on what to order, but he said their loaded baked potato soup was delicious. Our other son opted for the chicken tenders, fries and a loaded baked potato. He love their hot honey dipping sauce, but said the fries could use a little extra seasoning. I don't recall ever visiting one of these restaurants, but I know I'm coming back. Our queso and salsa was surprisingly very good, the queso was flavorful, and the salsa had a kick to it. My wife and I split the ribeye, fresh broccoli, and loaded mashed potatoes. I thought the ribeye was cooked perfectly with a great amount of flavor. My wife doesn't care for medium rare as much as I do so I don't think she loved it as much as I did. Our boys tore up the butter croissants, and their food. My son's chicken fingers that he dipped in hot honey looked really good as well. I can definitely see us coming back again as a family. Our server was very friendly, and we only had one minor issue with our queso. He was very attentive with the issue and had the manager check it out as well. Decided to show up to this new spot on a Saturday at peak dinner time with a large group and the team was super nice about the wait! When we were seated, it was a little tight squeeze with other tables but the place was so comfy! Our waiter was so sweet and checked on us often! Other folks checked on us too which led to two different waiters bringing us the amazing croissants and we were not complaining! Love the honey butter! The food wasn't amazing by any means but the menu is vast enough that I think you could continue to search for your regular plate! read more

The check in system is way off for time. It said no wait! We checked in and were there within 5 minutes. The lobby was packed. They were quoting 45 minute waits. We waited about 25 minutes. We were sat and our server was great but she was also sat a bunch of tables and a huge table with a million kids. We didn't get our salads until after our meal, we didn't get an of our dipping sauces and we didn't get any refills. The food was good but it was just a hectic experience . A manager should have been helping her because the huge party with an all the little kids was taking forever to do anything! Not her fault. read more

Our server was clearly a high schooler and there was no one waiting for a table and they don't close for another hour and a half, but Chantel proceeded to push us out of the and take plates we were still working on while we each still have over half of our margarita left. With how much you spend anymore going out to eat, it would be nice if the servers at least let you sit and enjoy the meal you paid for vs ushering you out of their half empty restaurant on a Saturday night. The service was so great, we unfortunately got our food before our drinks, they immediately fixed it and when we went to pay we were informed they compt our meal due to the mix up. We were not expecting that since it was a small issue, but we were incredibly grateful.
